Really a small, clean, very well appointed and modern hotel right in the heart of a charming small town, a ten minute walk to the castle. Food was good. WiFi was free but slow. Otherwise was wonderful, probably the best value in our entire trip.
Room was clean and comfortable. Close to everything. Breakfast was great.
location to city of Ennis, helpful employees, food (except breakfast) and parking It was not easy for older people to move about the hotel. Had to walk long distance to room and had to use steps to different levels.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and good value for money. There was no hot water late at night for a shower which was disappointing. Bathroom decor looked very dated.
Nice hotel with good bar and decent breakfast. Very good value for money. The only complaint I could have was a slight stale odour in my bedroom which wasn't helped by the lack of extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom.
lovely hotel, easy location in to town (need to get taxi but there only 7 euro) realy nice staff, not packed, realy realy clean room and bathrooms. pool and spa lovley nice and modern. very dated rooms esp bathroom (70's brown and cream tiles), food not great-but for 20euro a night we didnt realy mind!!
Frindlyness of staff it was lovely That I couldent stay longer
Friendly and welcoming staff and great facilities. It was maybe a bit further from the town centre than I would have liked.
It was fine. The desk clerk acted like she didn't like to work. Gave a rather negative feel to what was otherwise a fine visit. Inside the hotel is a maze getting to rooms. We finally brought our luggage in through a fire door since it would have been a real pain to follow the complicated trail and stairs to our room.
The buffet breakfast was really good. The room and fittings were dated and are in need of refurb. Public areas and restaurant are better.
Friendly staff and comfort
Simple but very well kept room with all the necessary requirements. Very tidy and well kept hotel with a very nice pub attached. Free wifi. Massive car park. Very confusing layout to the rooms as it took us a good 15-20 minutes to actually locate our room. Tried to go for a meal at the restaurant but it was closed for some reason. Probably a bit far out of town to be convenient (about half an hours walk from Ennis town centre).
Location. Staff. Facilities. Shower/bathroom
staff very nice and helpfull. 100/100
The proximity to the beach and town was exellent, staff were lovely and really helpful We were staying in a room on the first night that was backing onto a nightclub, it wqasso loud and we couldn't sleep until the nightclub was finishred,we asked to be moved which we were but we didn't receive an apology or anything to compensate us.
Center of town. Good sized, well furnished rooms.Friendly efficient service. Excellent breakfast. No aircon in the rooms and the windows could only be opened a few inches. Noise till four in the morning from a night-club directly below our room!
Its location was perfect, in the centre of Lahinch but slightly off the main street so no noise at night. The bar needs to be revamped.
they made a suprise party a great event the lay out of the rooms was very confusing
Location and staff more entertainment needed in bar
The room was clean and spacious, the receptionists were pleasant and courteous and the hotel at large was clean and modern. Website led me to believe that the hotel over looked the beach and wifi throughout which there wasn't. The shower was poor.
Rooms were big and clean Breakfast was cold, service poor.
Sorry but i would not recommentd this hotel. The walls are too thin and you could hear everything that was going on closing doors, walking dow coridors and the person next to you talking
Generally a very good atmosphere the staff at the ajoining pub were exceptionally responsive and efficient and coped well when very busy The corridors outside the rooms needed more ventilation as they sometime almost smelt of cigarette smoke!
They upgrade our room for no extra charge as they were quiet
Helpful staff, beautiful room and great location. The breakfast wasn't the best and service was VERY slow.
Location and size of the bedroom Lack of leisure centre but I was aware of this before I arrived so not a complaint more an observation
Dinner in the pub was really. We had a lovely view of cathedral from our room. View of air handling units on roof. Three drunk ladies in lobby at 7am.
I liked the central location and the availability of car parking Booking.com confirmed booking, but the hotel had no reservation
No hairdryer. Two different kinds of shampoo provided but not conditioner.
Ease of check in/out, central location, onsite parking, all round nice hotel.
Very central with lovely front desk staff and nice bar staff
A little worn around the edges in the public areas - but still a great hotel to stay over before returning to the U.S. from Shannon. Our room had been refurbished and was modern, clean and up to date. Location was great. Free parking a bonus as well. They didn't have my rate correct when I checked in - assured that would be correct when I checked out. But, it was still not right - although it was fixed without a problem on departure.
ease of check in/out. Room was well equipped, although I couldn't get the coffee machine to work!
Breakfast selection could have been better
Everything and everyone was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff where all very friendly and made us feel very welcome. None
Excellent room, Excellant food, great location N/A
staff very helpful facilities were very good. location excellent for town centre
The location was great. You could walk to restaurants and shops. The staff at the restaurant was great!! They were very friendly and helpful!! The room was very small and the bathroom had mold on the walls!! We also had a room on the first floor by the front door so very little privacy.
We attended a wedding where both staff and food were superb
The staff were always helpful and friendly. Door being locked after 12.30. We were not warned about this as part of the check in process, so were bewildered to find ourselves locked out the first night, and did not realise at first that we needed to ring the bell on the car park entrance to be let in. I understand the reasons for this, but it should be fully explained to guests when checking in.
All the staff where very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was great. None
Right bang in the middle of town,no need for taxis, great weekend! had to dance about in the shower to get wet lol!
Clean, well appointed rooms
Peace and Quiet n/a
Location The church bells in the morning!
The friendliness of the staff and th customers led to a weekend that was very homely and cosy no faults from us
breakfast gorgeous! booked into the pine room restaurant at 6.30 in evening we were so hungry. we were first in and it had only opened so we were expecting lovely fresh hot food, instead we got barely warm veg and mash., steak was bone dry obviously not freshly cooked and the sauce was barely warm too. soup was supposed to have croutons and fresh cream in it but had neither. I was disappointed with that. the meal cost a lot for such poor food. Having said that the breakfast the next morning was just delicious.
The warm welcome and service offered by staff A bit too cold in the lobby
accessability-on main road, good parking, a-la-carte menu in grill room, buffet breakfast, value for maney, selection of local activities available. We only stayed one night so couldn't find anything to dislike.
good value for money. Excellent leisure centre attached. Internet access from the room was free and worked consistently disorganised especially at some breakfast times. I paid in advance and it was charged to my credit card but they claim they didn't receive the payment and wanted to charge me again. Luckily, I had kept the credit card statement, which I have sent to them to try to resolve the problem
The Lynch West is a lovely hotel, very friendly staff and very homely atmosphere no
The staff are more that helpful and very good at what they do. The rooms are very good and comfortable. Leisure facilities were first class and clean.
the shower wasn't very clean and the guy at check-in didn't tell us when breakfast was or that it was included in the room rate so that was a little confusing the next morning and the food wasn't very good.
its a busy hotel so if you are looking for a quiet life this is not one for you. However its excllent as a location to visit the cliffs of moher etc not really
the rooms where not very sound proof, and due to a group of loud teenagers sleep was minimal.
The restaurant was nice. The room which i was stayin in was very small, with a double bed which was two single beds put together (not comfortable at all). There were stains in the bed sheets that obviously couldnt be washed out, but nevertheless shoud not have been used.House keeping called at 9 am,checkout was not until 12.
Nothing Dis not like the location, web site is mis leading. Hotel was noisy, 3 other people in our party all had same issue. People outside at night and also load in their rooms. No clocks, or Coffee/Tea available in the morning.
Everything Lack of signposting, people do not seem to be aware of this hotel.
friendly staff no tea-maker in room
The internet connection was desperate and I need that for my email
Quality breakfast and quality room. A particularly pleasant and helpful manager. The large television onthe wall of the breakfast room and above ourtable, showing an Australian soap and then a Jerry Springer yype show on tranvestites
friendliness, convenience, ambience.
style, friendly, and would stay againwhen in Ennis.
Good location and good value for money Shower did not work, got a smoking room when I'd asked for non smoking, no room service
The hotel has a beautiful lobby and a friendly and efficient front desk. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Nearby is Coole Park which is nice for a stroll.
Genuine friendleness and courtesy of the staff. Would consider this & facilities, though not availed of, most highly. Also food and the service of same excellent.
friendly staff. I have rarely if ever met a nicer more hospitable bunch. n/a
The receptionist was really friendly and very helpful on arrival. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel bar was very quiet.
Clean facilities. Beautiful views NO WIFI FOR ROOMS. Only available in main lobby. Not very convenient for international travelers. No one at reception. The staff seemed to be spread very thin. The receptionist is also the concierge, bartender and server. Bed was very hard.
Over all I really enjoyed my stay, the room - esp. for a "sole" traveller was really good. Its size was also a big plus for me, I was dreading a busy pub with a few rooms attached Breakfast on sunday was very good Tell the kitchen to take off the mashed peas from the salmon. My first room had no hot water and I had to push for another room - and I was staying two nights!! Reception staff did not have great local knowledge - I heard a family being recommended a walk along the cliff of Moher when they really wanted a beach for the children to run wild on.Breakfast on Saturday morning was not great
Lovely clean modern hotel, friendly staff but a bit quiet. Not much atmosphere in bar maybe because of time of year. Quiet
size and comfort of room
The hotel is new and very nicely furnished with new beds and spacious rooms, clean bathroom We booked a tripple room but they only had a double when we got there as we were a little late arriving
The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and she helped us book a tour of the beautiful surrounding area with a local family. The house itself was beautiful- the best B&B we found in our travels through Ireland.
This is a great B&B. I highly recommend it. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was really lovely. Full Irish-- lots of fresh fruit, homemade scones, Irish bacon, eggs, and more. Best of all the coffee was strong. Great gardens. No.
we stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful stay. The White Family who run this B&B were so friendly and made our stay with our two young children a wonderful visit to this beautiful area of Ireland. Would stay again here when we return to Ireland. They went out of their way to make it a wonderful stay at their beautiful B&B.
Friendly welcome, tea served. The cleanliness, everywhere. Very comfortable.
Owners were friendly and the location to the Cliffs of Mohr excellent. The morning breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There was a security motion detector in the bedroom which lit up every time you turned over. It caused a bit of disturbance throughout the night.
The personal and familiar atmosphere and a good breakfast. Would be great if there were glasses in the rooms and bathrooms.
Very nice welcome from the family
Excellent all round - we loved our time there. Beautiful views, comfy beds, great breakfast. Thankyou Mary!
The bed was amazingly comfortable with lovely sheets. Good service and communication prior to and during our stay. Very informative on the local area. Good location to the Cliffs of Moher and some pretty nice views (when it's not raining) Shower was a bit small
definately the innkeeper, Mary. she is wonderful! it is like staying with family!
It was very peaceful in a beautiful part of the country
There are several B&B nearby, but this offers a nice alternative. Connected to a restaurant and pub and with a nice lobby area, good alternative if the weather isn't good. Not quite walking distance to other pubs, but a very short drive on a very quite road, these are still good options.
Best hotel we stayed in Ireland. Staff were great, hotel clean and very well maintained.
The Hotel Doolin is a new and trendy hotel. It is fairly new and tries to use a green approach to doing things. Although its a fairly new property the hotel does have a few downsides. We had a problem the first night we stayed there with the shower drain. Basically it wouldn't drain. To make a long story short we switch rooms for our second night and when we got in there the sink wouldn't drain. This was a minor inconvenience. However my thought is this: With the hotel being fairly new I would think it would be better maintained. You can't exactly clean a sink or shower without running the water, so the cleaning staff should notice it and get it fixed before customers check in.
from the greeting to departure a sense of quiet effeciency. room was little warm when heating came on.......but otherwise perfect.
Amazing staff.Freindly and helpful, they really put you at your ease and made you feel at home
The hotel looked very bland from the outside and it was out of characterwith the traditional village surroundings. The interior, however was very classy and well designed and the room was large and elegant.
Brand new hotel only 4 years old with pubs and restaurant close by. Modern decore, new furniture, quiet room and comfortable beds. We had a restful nights sleep. Gus O'Connor's pub is 5 - 10 minute walk away (though you will need to bring along a flash light if you choose not to drive there after dusk) Free Wifi was only available in the hotel lounge and unreachable from our room 2 rooms away from the lounge. Not sure if this was because we stayed during the off peak season (November) when the hotel was mostly vacant.
Had a less than ideal stay at a hotel in Belfast the night before and gave it a bad rating. Here's what I wrote at the end of that review: "The next night I stayed at the hotel Doolin near Galway. Walked to my room, given a newspaper, asked if I needed a wake up call, given a free drink at the bar, breakfast included, plenty of parking, a beautiful clean modern lobby and a wonderful bed, all for less money. The contrast was remarkable..." Absolute pleasure to stay at Doolin. Nothing. Fantastic place.
Hospitality and friendliness of staff and lovely hotel.
the breakfast was tasty!!! no
The location was perfect to visit such places as the cliffs of Mohar and the Burren.
Very clean and central to the Burren Bit pricey
Only spent one night there, but the hosts were amazing! Arrived very early and asked for a spot to leave our luggage. They were nice enough to let us go straight to our room! Just next to two great pubs and a few minute walk to shops and a few minutes more to the dock. Lovely town, easy to find, and great breakfast. Super nice staff...I could go on. Definitely going to visit them again! The only negative is that we only had one night there. Nothing bad to say about the place.
Liked freindly staff and lounge/bar area was very cozy and comfortable. Liked being able to walk into town. Enjoyed breakfast too.
~The dinner was excellent and the waitress was very friendly When I arrived at reception, although someone saw I was there, I was completley ignored.
The hotel was exactly how it was described and the photographs reflect an accurate account of the look of the hotel. The rooms were very spacious, ask for a sea view! We found the staff very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. I felt the prices in the bar were a little expensive, over 10 euro for two drinks. Would recommend the hotel accomodation and food but would rather take the short walk to the village to visit the local pubs.
Beautifully designed luxurious hotel with a very friendly owner. He gave us great information to facilitate visits. We got the best room. We liked the breakfast. One of our best ever hotels.
We were only there for a brief evening prior to a day of golf. The accomodations were good - breakfast very good. No
good location, friendly staff especially in the restaurant. room was very comfortable, especially the bed. best bed have ever slept in, of all the hotels we have slept in.
Short walking distance from the beautiful surfing beach at Lahinch. Spacious comfortable rooms, with stunning local photographs throughout the hotel, attracting us to visit the Cliffs of Moher and other local beauty spots.
Restaurant was excellent although expensive. Owner/manager was very helpful and courteous. Some things were lacking. Although only a 4 star hotel the prices justified 5 star facilities such as dressing robe and slippers and tea making facilities. Also felt bedding was fairly inferior.
The staff at the Vaughn Lodge were so patient with my family. We were on our first vacation with our infant son and the staff embraced us and our chaos! They frequently went above and beyond to help us with our son. We would definitely stay with this amazing staff again!
I liked the location. And the breakfast was excellent. It was too modern...didn't feel like Ireland.
Had an excellent stay. Best breakfast. Wonderful service from all the staff. A really well run establishment
