great hospitality..and friendliness
Sightseeing. Listening to traditional Irish music in Lisdoonvarna. Eating out at other venuesThe hotel bedroom was comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. No exterior lighting when we returned late at night Not properly signposted Hotel seemed mostly empty and 'dead'. Used to selecting own cereals fruit and yogurt for breakfas even in B and Bs . I think 3 cereals offered no fruit no yogurt..
Peace and privacy, good service from staff.
very unassuming staff and hotel. Was left to my own devices. Breakfast staff were very attentive. Great value for money.
Not alot really, had been on a tour of Ireland and the Burren Castle ended up being the most expensive hotel that we stayed in and was certainly not value for money, very dated, it smelled and reminded us of Fawlty Towers. We even contemplated leaving straight away. Very dated, not worth the price paid, too far from the town.
as soon as i entered my room the smell of must was bad would never stay in that hotel again also no windows in room
good atmosphere no
Good location and bar. Although I know the price was hiked up due to the festival, I still found it steep. The breakfast the next morning would not have satisified a pidgeon.
location very central could be very noisy and definately rooms need a upgrade
It was near the cliffs of Moher There was absolutely no facilities. When we checked in the first thing we where told was that the bar and restaurant was closed (one of reasons chose here). Town and hotel was like a ghost town. We where woken by a continously ringing phone to ask us we we where having breakfast although we had already been told about the times and had chosen to have a lie in instead.
No hairdryer. Two different kinds of shampoo provided but not conditioner.
Ease of check in/out, central location, onsite parking, all round nice hotel.
ease of check in/out. Room was well equipped, although I couldn't get the coffee machine to work!
I liked the central location and the availability of car parking Booking.com confirmed booking, but the hotel had no reservation
Helpful staff, beautiful room and great location. The breakfast wasn't the best and service was VERY slow.
They upgrade our room for no extra charge as they were quiet
A little worn around the edges in the public areas - but still a great hotel to stay over before returning to the U.S. from Shannon. Our room had been refurbished and was modern, clean and up to date. Location was great. Free parking a bonus as well. They didn't have my rate correct when I checked in - assured that would be correct when I checked out. But, it was still not right - although it was fixed without a problem on departure.
Very central with lovely front desk staff and nice bar staff
Dinner in the pub was really. We had a lovely view of cathedral from our room. View of air handling units on roof. Three drunk ladies in lobby at 7am.
Generally a very good atmosphere the staff at the ajoining pub were exceptionally responsive and efficient and coped well when very busy The corridors outside the rooms needed more ventilation as they sometime almost smelt of cigarette smoke!
Location and size of the bedroom Lack of leisure centre but I was aware of this before I arrived so not a complaint more an observation
A wonderful facility located on a hill with a view to the back. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent. The location is convienient to the cliffs and Doolin. No complaints.
Excellent - nice place to stay-
I like the view and the hospitality of the owner. No there was nothing i did not like.
Extremely helpful owner. Great "Full Irish" breakfast. Great location to western coast of Ireland and Cliffs of Moher. A very clean and well appointed, boutique hotel in rural Ireland.
It was the best of a hotel, but the charm of a B&B. The facilities were great. Comfortable, clean and with several nice touches (complimentary bottles of water, washcloths, tea/coffee in room) The breakfast was included in the rate and was excellent. It was only a 10 minute drive to the Cliffs of Moher. Very good location. no complaints.
The breakfast and the outlook over the fields and river from our bedroom window. The proprietor was very welcoming an friendly
the hospitality and the peacefull surroundings.
Excellent breakfast. Very quiet place. A very pleasant B&B.
Great breakfast and Staff Internet (Wifi) didn't reach all rooms.
Very clean and comfortable room with spacious bed and beautiful view of the River Fergus. The staff were very helpful, always asking if we needed anything. Very convenient to town and to the Shannon Airport.
The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was great! Fantastic location, beautiful property... and we wished we had booked a longer stay!
This is a great B&B. I highly recommend it. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was really lovely. Full Irish-- lots of fresh fruit, homemade scones, Irish bacon, eggs, and more. Best of all the coffee was strong. Great gardens. No.
The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and she helped us book a tour of the beautiful surrounding area with a local family. The house itself was beautiful- the best B&B we found in our travels through Ireland.
Clean, up-to-date facilities in nicely decorated rooms.
The room was beautifully prepared with a lot of extra touches that made the stay much more pleasurable. It is a bit far from the town centre but there are plenty of taxis available.
I loved the colouring of the room. It gave it a less standard hotel room feel. I also loved the breakfast. The salmon option is not offered everywhere Maybe it is hard to clean the rooms properly because there is so much stuff in there? The room was a bit chilly and I did not know how to turn up the heating. There was no one downstairs when I wanted to ask and there was no bell or anything like it.
I was very pleased with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would go there again.
It was a last minute choice at a very reasonable price, located conveniently close to town The house smelled of fat frying, the bed was very uncomfortable and the heating in the bedroom and bathroom went off at 10pm and did not even come on again next morning - quite cold and unwelcoming.
The Staff were fantastic, the food was great and very good location.
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, and the food. Yes. The room looked very very dated with old furniture and fittings. Very bad really. The bathrrom, in contrast was pretty good.
friendly staff, comfortable room, in great location, breakfast was good Did not like evening meal, chicken & bacon salad was inedible, seemed to be leftovers, would not eat there again
yes we did like our stay at the shamrock inn hotel.it was basic but clean and comfortable and matched our needs. great location and staff were very good. would book again. i had to go looking for somebody to check us in on arrival. we had to go next door for breakfast in the morning, breakfast was just ok.
Room was very cosy and warm and staff were extremely friendly!
The hotel was simple, homely and relaxed. The staff were a delight, helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and catered for all types - comfort and gourmet. The room was spacious and very clean. I had a very happy and contented stay. Parking a bit of a problem.
The location, Lahinch is a lovely place. The staff were friendly and obliging. Two items needing attention were seen to while I was out. Food was excellent. There is no room for expansion, but car parking facility is a minus. A car was vandalised overnight when I was there. Not the hotel's fault, but un-nerving none-the-less.
staff very friendly and accomadating, food suberb, manager declan was excellent at his job not enough tv channels and no internet
Location very good, Staff friendly
Location. Clean but basic. Basic.
The staff was very helpful and friendly at all times. Food was great and excellent value for the money. There should be heating controls in the rooms, not at the reception desk.
Very comfortable room and spotlessly clean-also extremely pleasant staff and good atmosphere. Good car parking.Restful and tasteful decor--Kerry wool blankets on beds etc.it felt like a smoothly run hotel
The staff were helpful and our room was very clean and the proximity to the town and its restaurants and bars was very convenient.
We had stayed there before, and on our way to catch the ferry to Arran Island, it was a good overnight break location, We tried to book it earlier in the summer but it was full. On the Friday night, after midnight (1am onwards), we were disturbed by loud talking and doors banging right under our bedroom window a number of times.
We liked the variety/choice of food at breakfast time. coffee was very good. ANothing we disliked but we did mss a clock/radio in the room - fortunately we did not need an early call or set an alarm. The hotel should invest in a computer for guests to use if only to send emails for communication . Lots of hotels we have used have these facilities.
The cosiness and convenience of the lounge...especially due to the fine treatment by Colette! Not a major issue but the front lobby could stand more colorful or interesting decor...maybe some ferns, etc.
room facilities & size, pub facilities & food choice & quality, location, service looks better on the outside than inside. Rooms are looking a bit tired & ours could have been cleaner. [especially mattress side which had large brown stain] Beds with duvets create a 'cleaner' impression than blankets [NB blanket was freshly laundered]
we were the only couple staying
The hotel was nice but the bathroom wasn't very clean, we did mention this but not alot was done about this.
Very helpful and friendly reception staff, nice room and great location.
lovely location. The cafe bar next door was great. The staff were all very friendly and security at night was excellent. The dining room and kitchen was very handy to make up a meal especially as the restaurants in the town are so expensive. Our room smelled very smokey so we had to have the windows open throughout our stay. The beds were very hard but overall for the price the hostel is very good value and we would definately stay there again.
Cheap & cheerful
Open 24/7, big room, big bathroom and very quiet! We didn't realize that breakfast was only til 9.30....our fault....but the kitchen was supposed to close only at 10.30 for cleaning, leaving an hour to self-cater...but the young lady in charge of cleaning was very energetic.....not quite so welcoming:(
This is a hostel with a rather institutionalised feel. Think student hall of residence on a budget. The room was clean and the bed comfortable enough, but if you are looking for any inclination toward luxury, you won't find it here. Most of the clientele were student age. Friendly and helpful staff. Fine for what it aims to be Very barely furnished, thin towels, minimum facilities and breakfast. Not that cheap when you take these things into account - eg you'll need to add the cost of a proper breakfast. If you want any extras, (shampoo, adapter, for example) - there's a price list in the bathroom.
Friendly staff. It's a new building with a nice restaurant next door where you get a 10% discount if staying at the hostel. Clean and with the option of cooking your own meals I'll be back!!!!
i liked its location, easy access with no curfew, laid back attitude and pleasant and helpful staff. i also found the room to be spacious and comfortable. Finally the restaurant was awesome with really great food. not really, although we could have done with more towels in our room and its a shame the breakfast times were not more flexible.
Clean Rooms, en-suite facilities
a little bit noisy when people came back at night, but it was over xmas so that might have something to do with it
Free access to internet and staff allowed use ot phone twice when our mobile couldnt connect. Much appreciated. Restaurant good food and service. Central location great Only tea toast for breaky. Would have liked cereal too
Not much 1. They claimed they were in transition to a new telephone system that caused a busy signal when calling 2. The address was obscure, therefore hard to find 3. On a fairly busy street 4. When checking out, their 'swiper' did not work -- had to pay c
This B&B was perfect for us. The owners, Sheelagh and Domhnall Lynch were absolutely the best. Lots of knowledge and excellent help in planning our daily trips.
Room was clean and comfortable. Close to everything. Breakfast was great.
Really a small, clean, very well appointed and modern hotel right in the heart of a charming small town, a ten minute walk to the castle. Food was good. WiFi was free but slow. Otherwise was wonderful, probably the best value in our entire trip.
good value for money. Excellent leisure centre attached. Internet access from the room was free and worked consistently disorganised especially at some breakfast times. I paid in advance and it was charged to my credit card but they claim they didn't receive the payment and wanted to charge me again. Luckily, I had kept the credit card statement, which I have sent to them to try to resolve the problem
breakfast gorgeous! booked into the pine room restaurant at 6.30 in evening we were so hungry. we were first in and it had only opened so we were expecting lovely fresh hot food, instead we got barely warm veg and mash., steak was bone dry obviously not freshly cooked and the sauce was barely warm too. soup was supposed to have croutons and fresh cream in it but had neither. I was disappointed with that. the meal cost a lot for such poor food. Having said that the breakfast the next morning was just delicious.
its a busy hotel so if you are looking for a quiet life this is not one for you. However its excllent as a location to visit the cliffs of moher etc not really
The Lynch West is a lovely hotel, very friendly staff and very homely atmosphere no
The friendliness of the staff and th customers led to a weekend that was very homely and cosy no faults from us
accessability-on main road, good parking, a-la-carte menu in grill room, buffet breakfast, value for maney, selection of local activities available. We only stayed one night so couldn't find anything to dislike.
the shower wasn't very clean and the guy at check-in didn't tell us when breakfast was or that it was included in the room rate so that was a little confusing the next morning and the food wasn't very good.
the rooms where not very sound proof, and due to a group of loud teenagers sleep was minimal.
The warm welcome and service offered by staff A bit too cold in the lobby
The staff are more that helpful and very good at what they do. The rooms are very good and comfortable. Leisure facilities were first class and clean.
Only spent one night there, but the hosts were amazing! Arrived very early and asked for a spot to leave our luggage. They were nice enough to let us go straight to our room! Just next to two great pubs and a few minute walk to shops and a few minutes more to the dock. Lovely town, easy to find, and great breakfast. Super nice staff...I could go on. Definitely going to visit them again! The only negative is that we only had one night there. Nothing bad to say about the place.
It was very comfortable and quite. Mrs. Sheedy went out of her way ,helping us plan our trip to the Aran Island.
beautifully appointed-fantastic food (locally sourced) lighting could be a bit better -by bedside
Massive nice room. Friendly staff. Lovely supper and breakfast.
The lady proprietor was very welcoming. The food was excellent and the room a real surprise: large and comfortable.
Room service charg for breckfast $9 was a bit high
Quiet elegance, superb restaurant, welcoming owner.
Made very welcome by the owners. The food was the best I ever experianced in a hotel. Will stay again on next trip to West Clare.
The food was fantastic and we could not have eaten there every night very large portions Possibly menu could have been changed
We spent three nights in July 2010 and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Martina and John have a wonderful establishment. Our room was exceeding comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied ( I want the pea soup recipe! ) The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was nice to relax by a peat fire at the end of a day of exploring Clare County. Not only would we recommend it to others but we anticipate returning for a longer stay. I can honestly say that in years of travels, I have never enjoyed a stay as much as this.
The hotel is lovely. The breakfasts were scrumptious. The owner was very available and helpful.
The position and atmosphere. The instant coffee
the view of the countryside the room was cold & dampish
The view of the coast, the serenity, the beauty - the sense of another time, but with really good food
The environment, seclusion, the view, the old ruin in the garden
The evening dinner was wonderful. The warm welcome and family presence in the hotel were great! The barman added greatly to the Clare experience. It is a charming place with an old world feel. The scenery is fabulous and the pleasure of sitting in the hotel watching the sun go down was just wonderful. Easy access to the beach at Fanore, Walking in the Burren, Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher!
Breakfast, view, staff Outdated decor, spiders
