Pros: It was clean the the lady was very nice, she helped out with any doubts and was very polite
Cons: It was quite basic and the breakfast wasn’t great. You had to ask for more coffee instead of it just being there. The food was nice, homemade cake but there could have been more choice
Pros: Beautiful location, walking distance of several good restaurants, host was charming and tried hard to speak to us in English. River view room was lovely, spacious and very clean with stunning mountain views. Nice easy walks close by. Breakfast was simple but well presented.
Cons: It was all lovely
Pros: Posada with a lot of charm, very nicely furnished and decorated and a lovely garden to spend end of evenings. Location as well is very interesting and proved to be very easy to join both the Ocean coast, wonderful beaches and the interior with gorgeous Picos de Europa for example. I spent an excellent time en la Posada Fuentona and much of it due to the lovely host Esperanza.

Pros: A very welcoming, efficient and accommodating hostess, who waited on us at breakfast time and made sure we had plenty to eat and drink.
Pros: Staff didn’t speak any English but were extremely helpful and friendly. They let me put my motorcycle at the rear of the building in a safe place and under cover. Breakfast was OK and they did it for me at 8am when the usual start time on a Sunday is 9am.
Cons: The hotel was locked up when I arrived and it took quite a long time to get anyone to answer the door bell.
Pros: Our host was very friendly and helpful to advise on restaurants nearby. Also the atmosphere of the hotel and our rooms was very warm.
Pros: Lovely old property full of character. Good breakfast, very friendly staff
Cons: Room was cold in the morning
Pros: Traditional Spanish guesthouse with very friendly hostess.
Pros: The hostess very nice and helpful. You feel like visiting your family at country side. Nice decorated and very clean rooms. Good location, car parking by the house. Good breakfast in main room served by the hostess. Good WiFi.
Cons: Sound insulation.
Pros: The fact that it was such an old building and decorated in such a quirky style. Super comfy bed, great shower. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: When we arrived there was no-one there to meet us but we were 45 minutes early. A bit noisy at night as all the floor boards creaked - maybe take ear plugs. Host only spoke Spanish but it wasn't a problem. She td us a great place to go and have dinner.
Pros: Excellent host Adelina and her husband. Very friendly, efficient and attentive to guests Included breakfast was all that we needed Feels like home. This is more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel
Cons: Just a word of advice. You need a car. Also the showers are very small

Pros: This is a picturesque place to stay it is run by a fantastic couple who are warm and welcoming, we know only a few words of Spanish and they only know a little English however a way round the language barrier was found and many laughs shared.
Pros: The owner make you feel like family. Also the views are breathtaking.
Pros: The view from the garden was beautiful, and the house itself was oozing character and charm.
Cons: Unfortunately we had an internal room which had no external window or natural light, so it was very dark, and the internal window allowed a lot of noise in.
Pros: Hotel is very nice with lots of character in main room. Wifi worked well and beds were comfortable; TV only in Spanish Breakfast was excellent with fresh orange juice, homemade cake and raspberry jam. Hosts have limited( wife) or very limited( husband) english but nice people and communication was worked out.
Cons: Somewhat difficult to find as not clearly identified ( found using posada sign on wall not address; it is 2nd building when entering village) House heating system is not very efficient and heating is cut during the night ( common in Europe) so a bit cold overall ( 10 celsius outside in evening).
Pros: A beautiful place to stay in wonderful Cantabria!

Pros: Quiet location, safe parking, walled garden, spacious room, big bathroom, friendly and obliging couple, great breakfast.
Located in Costa Occidental de Cantabria, Posada Restaurante Prada a Tope is within a 15-minute drive of Playa de la Maza and Playa de El Tostadero. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very much a restaurant with rooms. The menu choices were limited to a few speciality dishes that were extremely well prepared. The Blonde loved the pool
Cons: Aircon would have made it perfect but that said this area of Spain generally cools off naturally at night
Pros: Dinner in the restaurant was good.
Cons: Room was quite small - couldn't walk past each other.
Pros: The location was conveniently close to the motorway and other main routes
Cons: Room superficially clean but very dirty under the bed. One of the bedspreads was dirty and the chair in the room was also badly stained and dirty. Disturbed night because of the owner's dog repeatedly barking beneath our window. Hot water not always available and when it was it took a very long time to come through. Poor attitude of staff over complaints form - they made no attempt to find out what was wrong. Worst breakfast we encountered on our 18 day holiday in Spain and Portugal.
Pros: Everything, great everything
Cons: Nothing, was exactly what i wanted
Pros: Everything, probably the best hotel we have stayed in in Spain.
With a stay at Posada la Casona de Ucieda in Ruente, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Saja-Besaya Natural Park and Sequoias del Monte Cabezon.

With a stay at Camino Real de Selores in Valle de Cabuerniga, you'll be 5.1 mi (8.2 km) from Pozo del Diablo and 7.8 mi (12.5 km) from Saja-Besaya Natural Park. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The rooms are beautiful, a treat for the senses. Out of this world, quirky, imaginative and tasteful. Very special.
Pros: Beautiful location so handy for the Santander ferry. All of the staff were so friendly- good restaurant and bar. Excellent parking facilities.
Pros: Diego was an absolute star . The hotel is unique in the best possible way . Lovely restaurant . The Rain Gin was the icing on the stay .
Cons: Having 2 attic rooms was great !
Pros: Only around an hour from Santander, just far enough to travel when you get off the boat late. It has character and all the rooms were individually furnished and very comfortable. The staff were pleasant but seemed to flap because they could not speak English and we have little Spanish but we managed. Turned out there was no electricity the following morning and they were trying to let us know
Cons: Restaurant was a little limited due to only having a room service menu in English.
Pros: The building is a very fine and interesting old building in a pretty setting. Our room, bathroom and balcony were large
Cons: The public areas weren’t cleaned after a function even by the next morning. The restaurant had a very limited selection of dishes and was overpriced. Breakfast was disappointing, most of the items on the buffet looked like they’d been there for a long time, the fruit was rotten. We had a large bathroom but it needs refurbishing as the shower unit is very small, plastic and old with a dangerous drop as you step out of it. It also has a huge quite old round bath even though there’s a sign asking you not to use too much water!
Pros: Breakfast was very good with many choices; especially we loved the bread. The building was very old and original decorated with lots of paintings, classical furnitures. The quests should really make time to see the whole building. The area has lots of different villages around worth seeing. It's a very tranquil and pastoral area. We stayed in the yellow room; the bathtub was special.
Cons: Since it is a classical historical building, the floor was squeaking while walking which may be disturbing for light sleepers. We requested a double bed but it was two twin beds attached.

Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: This hotel was the perfect overnight stop for us after arriving on the Ferry in Santander and en route for our tour of Northern Spain and Portugal. Situated close to the Motorway and about 30 minutes from Santander. Even though our booking was for one night the welcome could not have been warmer. Our very spacious room with large bathroom and balcony was excellent and Dinner and Breakfast very good indeed. We wished we could have stayed longer!
Cons: There was nothing we did not like!
Pros: Convenient location for short stay. Clean/Spacious room with balcony with mountain/village view. Good parking space. Nice decor with paintings. Comfortable stay.
Cons: Limited breakfast option.
Pros: This is a small famly run hotel. We have stayed here several times, The rooms are spacious & very clean. The hotel is ideally situated for the Santander ferry
Cons: Nothing to dislike

Cons: Nothing to say
Pros: the staff were very helpful
Cons: the rooms were a little dark and the hotel is off the beaten track. Ask for a room away from the road.
Set in the small village of San Vicente del Monte, 12 km from the beautiful beaches on the Cantabrian Coast, this rural inn offers a bar and rustic-style rooms. Hiking can be practised nearby and you can also visit an ancient Roman road. The charming fishing villages of Comillas or San Vicente de la Barquera are 20 minutes’ drive away. Featured amenities include express check-in, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Pros: The location and grounds are beautiful; the room quiet and spacious with a very comfortable bed. We also had a large balcony with nice views. The breakfast was delicious with a very wide choice. We were recommended to a scenic walk along the river which we enjoyed.
Cons: It wasn't clear what price breakfast would be and was more expensive than we had expected. There was an extra charge for coffee in the lounge which could have been complimentary given the overall cost.
Pros: Very clean and quiet. Bed was excellent. Grounds were lovely. Parking was hidden and secure. Some nice local pubs close by.
Cons: Plugs didn't fit bathtub. Towels had a funny smell. For the price of expect maybe tea/coffee facilities or water in the room. Bit expensive for what it was.
Pros: Fabulous quiet location, beautiful gardens, comfy guests sitting areas, good breakfasts. Hosts were very welcoming.
Cons: Bed was a bit too firm & creaked horribly. Wooden floors lovely but all of these things transmit noise to guests in rooms below. The simple dinners were nice but they could have made more of it.
Pros: The interior decoration was very stylish and the terrace was lovely.
Cons: We would have preferred a buffet style breakfast.
Pros: Surrounded by a green garden and quiet
Pros: The bed was hard but good. The hotel was in a lovely garden and very tranquil but there was a 15 min walk to nearest restaurant. It didn't help it was raining. Very clean.
Cons: The distance from nearest restaurant.
Pros: It might be a little away from the coastal tourist route, but this small hotel is an absolute gem and offers possibly the best breakfast in Asturias (and we’ve tried a fair number). The garden is a total pleasure with 83 different species of tree to discover. We’ll be back.
Cons: I liked everything - the host even managed to suggest some extremely palatable Cantabrian wine - not something we’d come across before, but which I’d happily purchase again.
Pros: The hotel was set in beautiful gardens and all rooms seemed to have a spacious balcony from which to enjoy the pleasant surroundings. Some of the products used for dinner and breakfast were sourced from the hotel’s garden. Our room was large and bed very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were enjoyable with lots of choice in the morning. A quiet location, would definitely recommend, especially if seeking secure parking as we were travelling by motorbike and knowing the grounds were secure gave us peace of mind.
Cons: Everything met our expectations.
Located in Costa Occidental de Cantabria, Posada El Marqués de Trancadorio is within a 15-minute drive of Palacio de Ocejo and Fuente de los Tres Canos. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Interior was nice.
Cons: Hostess showed little to no interest in our wellbeing. Our room wasn’t clean. Hair in the bathroom and dirt on the floor in the room. Our towels were not replaced by clean ones, although they were dirty and placed on the bathroom floor. Never ever have we experienced such a thing. Hygiene is key when staying in a hotel. This was definitely very unpleasant.
With a stay at Hotel La Casona de la Torre in Ruente, you'll be on a river, and 3.9 mi (6.2 km) from Saja-Besaya Natural Park and 9 mi (14.5 km) from Pozo del Diablo. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
Located in Costa Occidental de Cantabria, Palacio Guevara is within a 15-minute drive of Sequoias del Monte Cabezon and Playa de la Maza. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a 24-hour front desk.
Pros: really gorgeous helpful staff, couldn't be nicer
Cons: it is all a bit dusty and needs a good clean out, must have been great 20 years ago difficult to walk up the stairs, nothing to hang on to, but the lovely girls at reception did offer to take up the little suitases. Get rid of those awful paintings in the hotel, throw out the dusty bunches of dried flowers/wheat bunches, give it a good clean out/replace the carpets , clean out the cigarette buts at the entrance. Food at the restaurant a little ordinary, to be kind. wine no choice , just the house red/white not good. Everything in the restaurant tasted a bit re heated. Well it was, we saw thekitchen taff arriving with lots of plastic boxes at after 8.30 and the restaurant opened at 0. We were a group of a chef, and two renowned front of house people. We were there to enjoy ourselves, not to criticise. Beds comfy, rooms clean but other areas need a good touch of the duster. Overall lovely reception and staff, give them a job any day.
Pros: This was a beautiful place! The grounds are lovely and there is a nice walk to a playground just down the road. The food was incredible. Definitely select at least half board! The value was tremendous. The other guests were friendly but also enough space to be able to have privacy. The staff was friendly, courteous and genuine. This place will stay in our hearts.
Pros: We liked the hotel building, the style. We had a great lunch just after we arrived. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pros: Beautiful hotel! The staff was very friendly and the room was something special.
Pros: the restaurant. don't miss the restaurant
Cons: the stairs
Pros: The hotel is a mansion welcoming you into a beautiful conservatory and with sitting areas with antics on each level. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast and dinner in beautiful area. Comfortable room with charm.
Cons: The plumbing is a bit tired and some barking disturb our sleep.
Pros: The pueblo is nice and has nice views! The restaurant was really good and a great value! I would recommend eating there. The staff was very nice and the hotel is nicely decorated the room had nice tall ceilings and we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again!
Cons: The only thing was that the room was a bit hot as it only had a small window they should have a fan for that room, but the room was very nice and clean apart from that.
When you stay at Posada La Busta in Alfoz de Lloredo, you'll be next to a golf course and 13 minutes by car from Santillana del Mar Zoo. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We liked the lady who makes breakfast and the balcony and easy parking. Wifi works well.
Cons: The lights in the room were very sharp - the lamp was low so we hit it couple times, the heating didnt work or worked incorrectly. Shower takes long to get hot and the first night it was only cold water. The toilet paper is a joke, its a tissue dispenser. And finally, the owner doesnt respect guests wishes. It was stated in the house rules that if you dont desire room service they wont enter. We informed that we will make our bed and we dont need service, we have our own beddings and towels (long term travelling). However the owner (or someone) kept on entering every day without informing us.The room was not being cleaned, there was no diference before and after. We knew someone was entering because the first morning the heater was missing from our room;so we put a match between the door everyday. It made us feel very uneasy and unwelcome.
Pros: Friendly owners. Room nicely decorated, with a balcony overlooking the street and a view of the mountains. Bar downstairs for a drink on arrival and breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Soundproofing not great. Even earplugs didn't block out the snoring from the room next door. No double beds (all twins).
Pros: Nice rooms, wifi works well. As it was indicated in other reviews, the pension is near the road and you hear cars, but we slept well. We had some food with us and they let us use their fridge. Had a nice dinner in the bar after we failed to find a working restaurant before 20:30.
Pros: We arrived exhausted from a long day of travel and the staff at this pension were amazing. The room was large enough for an extra bed for our 5 year old, and the bathroom was large with large windows for natural light. We ate at the restaraunt downstairs the next morning, and had wonderful tortilla and coffee for a great price. We loved this pension. We were sad to only have been able to stay one night. Thank you Pension Gades for making our difficult travel day much, much better.
Cons: Loved all of it.
Pros: Great accommodation, above a friendly bar and in a convenient location for trips to the coast and mountains.
Pros: Bar was a friendly and lively local meeting point. Not noisy at night.
Pros: We were greeted by the extremely friendly and helpful owners and their parents. They took our bikes to their private garage for overnight safety. They helped us carry our luggage up to the room. They made us feel very welcome and very helpful talking to my friend in Spanish.

Pros: Nothing to say about it okay for one night
Cons: Hotel was empty no staff
