Proximity to the train station. When we got to the room there was someone sleeping in there, that situation was not comfortable at all. During the entire stay one of the lifts was out of order, two of the lobby public phones were out of order. It looked like the hotel was about to close. The cleanliness of the room and corridors was also not acceptable.
The hotel was easy to find from the train station
The location mainlly suited our requirements The Breakfast very Bland
Fast check in, warm well decorated room no tv remote :-(
It was in the center It is very old hotel, you need to fight with the staff for central heating. Amazing they are turning on the central heating just for an hour, then you need to shout again.
Location to train station and town centre
Near to railway station On initial booking requested a smoking room however when checked in they gave a non smoking room and would not then change it.
It was very central, next to bus and train station The outside made you a bit worried about the hotel you had picked but once inside it was OK.
The room was very cold, there was no isolation, and it was freezing outside!
the convenience to the railway station ,area ,public houses, traffic free environment, location of room
Cheerful and friendly staff
The bar shut in the due to 'staff sickness' at 10.00, although the receptionist did get me a beer.
Staff were really friendly, liked added touches of mints and biscuits in the room. It was quite noisy by the road as the windows did not appear to be double glazed.
Free parking was probably the only good thing about my stay. To be honest I didnt enjoy my stay at all, my room was not particularly clean and smelt musky. The bath had mildew around the edges, went to the hotel restraunt, where I was the only customer, which was fine I had the smoked salmon and king prawn salad to start, the prawns came with a very unusual sauce and the salmon tasted very "fishy". I had the mushroom risotto for my main, disgusting! I could not eat any of it, it was the most disgusting, lumpy foul tasting meal I have eaten, it comes with veg I thought, unbelievably your chef had managed to destroy veg n potatoes! I had paid for breakfast and asked if I could not have breakfast and call it quits on dinner I would pay for drinks no, so I paid for a foul dinner and breakfast I didnt eat
Very helpful reception staff and excellent value for money. Location was perfect.
relaxed hotel with internet facilities - also quiet no Blossom Hill by the glass - unusual!!!
Clean and functional, all facilities that you need for a short stat, good price for an average hotel. Fine
The 2 for 1lunch deals and the rooms were clean and comfortable and their was adequate room for parking.
Service from staff was friendly and efficient Bathroom was very dated, damages and not very clean, there was also beatles in bedroom and bathroom
excellent value for money, rooms basic but comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, good for shopping
Got the room cheap through Active Hotels so it was good value
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was exceptionally quick even though there was a large party in the hotel at the time. The breakfasts were delicious - a real treat. The mattresses were rather lumpy, but I turned the mattresses and it was much better and worth the effort.
The friendliness of the staff especially on the reception desk upon arrival. Mould in the bath/show
quiet and comfortable thermostat on shower did not work stuck on boiling hot when asked for bill the initial bill was not based on the rate booked through yourselves but this was corrected without any fuss.
The room was lovely and the location nice Not ideal if you do not have a car because the surounding area was not easily accessible! Raj was great on the mornings as the waiter Some of the reception staff were rude and disrespectful We were two young ladies staying and they did not seem to like this
location to himley hall. disco loud early hoursof sunday morning ?
location and comfort of room
Unfortunately the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The room was cold, the heater did not work in our room(129). Despite reporting this nothing was done. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.
Clean, Tidy and friendly staff. Easy to find and well located for the area. Lovely club sandwich in the bar! Shower extractor fan was constant, the main bathroom one went on and off with light ok but one over shower 'hummed' all night. Car park had lights but only ones nearest to reception were on (or working) making it very dark for late arrivals (as I was).
Nice hotel set in a pleasant grounds with good road links into Wolverhampton. Room was a good side well equiped and comfortable. The bathroom was in a very poor state with patched up tiling, plastic strips around the bath and on the ceiling apparently covering up gaps after a partial refit. The tiles was filthy with black mound in the grout, around the taps and mixer shower. The extractor fan filter was thick with dust and the shower curtain rod continually fell down. For a hotel of this standard the bathroom was an utter disgrace.
Room poor quality, One towel between 2. No bath mat in the shower, no bottled water, walls like paper and could do with a coat of paint.
Location, cleanliness of room and excellent value for money. The meals looked a trifle expensive, but as we didnt have one we could not comment on the quality. It amy have been excellent though.
Hotel clean Lack of staff to cope with number of guests at breakfast - had to wait for a table & food items not replenished. Selection of fruit/croissants/bread etc for breakfast poor.
The breakfast was reasonable.
Quiet convenient location Leisure suite/pool too small
Friendly attentive staff although there only seemed a few on - the same person who fixed a broken light in my room also served my food in the bar! Had a huge room.
The pleasantness of the staff at the hotel coupled with the excellent value for money
Clean and well apointed The beds were too hard
the room was spotless clean the soundproofing was not very good but we only needed the room for sleeping in! nobody can complain as the cost reflects this.
ideal for visit to theatre & shopping in Birmingham without having to stay in city centre, train station not too far from hotel National holday coach tour in hotel very noisy all seemed to be in adjacent room to us & awoken by one very elderly man at 6.30 am at wrong room door
Room was clean Shower did not work properly, either scalding hot or freezing cold Heating on all night made room like a sauna smoking rooms within the hotel rooms, corridor stunk of smoke
Helpful staff and value for money accommodation None found
Difficult to find way around building. Got lost finding dining room. Reception hard to find.
Poor smoking area
Very good sized rooms
The rooms were clean and tidy, the breakfasts were excellent, and the manager was very helpful and pleasant. Excellent value for money! Would stay again.
I did not know what to expect and was suprised about the small size of the room, limited storage, the bed infront of the radiator. I had a terrible sleep because the loud noise of the radiator in the room kept me waking up throughout the night. The room had very limited comfort.
Clean. efficient., economical, friendly, excellent breakfast, quiet, WiFi, character decor, excellent all round value for anyone looking for a place to lay their head in Wolverhampton. Nothing
very welcoming and excellent value for money. interesting history of the hotel and building
Beautiful/ full of old treasures/cared for/clean/lots of nice touches/ helpful, friendly manager Everything was perfect.
Great facilities and staff were very helpful.
High room standards , quality touches not found in many 5 star hotels, brilliant showers.Nothing, however trivial is too much trouble for Keith the manager who appears to have his 'finger on the pulse' at all times. Having to check out and return home !!!!!!
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good The beds were not very comfortable
Small but comfortable room/bed, friendly personel, fresh made (simple) breakfast.
Superb staff, food, and atmosphere A full breakfast would be a good idea.
the room was warm and comfortable
Food in the restaurant and atmosphere. Lovely bar friendly people It is mint condition all over the hotel. hardly I find anything
Food was good in the hotel restaurant Fire alarm went off three times during our stay once at 2am. Service at the restaurant was very slow we had to complain twice to get service. Was even given another tables starter and dessert. One waiter became argumentative with the staff when she tried to rectify the dessert.
Room was very good, bed was great, very confortable
Excellent Hotel and Food, room very clean None!
The Bellagio restaurant within the hotel served excellent food, very well presented and cooked to perfection Too noisy
staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was beautiful, and comfortable. Thank you
It felt upmarket even though it was incredibly inexpensive. My room had a feel of class and everything worked. The staff were friendly and helpful. If I have to visit the area again, the Beverley is where I will choose to stay. I wish there had been more free power sockets, but only as I have extra requierments, so it isn't really a negative.
Very friendly and helpful staff, a good breakfast, clean hotel. My 'single' room turned out to be a double suite with a sitting room. Poor lighting in room. Small utilitarian 'bulkhead' style energy saving light on ceiling - a bit cold, dull and grim! Flat panel TV in sitting room was positioned far too high on the wall so you ended up with a stiff neck when viewing from the sofa!
Very helpful owners
not a lot room 30 has an awful damp smell. its as though it was a smoking room at one time. i had to leave window open. shower has no power.
it was quiet, the staff was friendly it was out of the way, had difficulty finding it, the room was quite small and one of the bed's was torn
I stayed at the Hotel as it was convenenient both for Birmingham and my family without having to pay any of the fancy prices in Birmingham. It was perfectly adequate for my needs but would think it very noisy on match days! The eternal problem for individual guests staying at Hotels-coach parties who think they own the place.
Very comfortable all staff very helpfull, supprisingly quiet for the location. I also recommended this to two other couples that stayed at the same time. Difficult access due to Walsall road iomprovements.
Nice modern rooms in a fairly new hotel and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Was stuck in a room next to the lifts which was particularly noisy due to the mechanism
the staff were really helpful especially when i called about directions when i became lost
Close proximity to football ground. The Burger Van outside, it lowered the tone of the hotel.
Location - It was right next door to where I needed to be I was on my own but the bed settee in the room was set up as a bed leaving hardly any room.
Brand new, very clean and functional, would definately stay there again
very noisy had to ask for me to be moved
A very clean and modern hotel with an excellent room and polite helpful staff.
Room was exceptionally clean Although on the 7th floor, on a Saturday night the road noise and late night revellers were disturbing. Also very noisy about 3am when doors were banging when people returned from nightclubs and room walls very thin so that neighbours intimacies were very audible. Got about two hours sleep!
A little noisy (outside of the hotel)
Reception staff very helpful
the room was large, bright and airy The dining room staff were unhelpful, rude and ignorant to the extent that although we were the only people in the dining room at 5.15 in the evening we sat for 9 minutes after being shown to a table without any further acknowledgement from the staff. They were busy filling salt pots and vinegar bottles but showed no interest in us. I went to reception and suggested that the Duty Manager should resolve our concerns but was infromed by the receptionist that the Duty Manager was infact the woman in the kitchen that ignored us. We ended up eating at a local restaruant which was great.
as i took my elderly mother in law, everything we asked for they were very helpful the only problem was that she could not get into the bath and a shower would have been helpful, also our double room the shower i would class as poor the power was not good.
The locality and the room itself was acceptable. The shower on the first morning was, at best, lukewarm. Having reported the problem we expected it to be resolved, but this was not the case and we suffered the same fate the next morning. We also wanted to use the room phone, but this would not work. We reported this problem also. On our second night we arrived back at the hotel to find a wedding party in full swing with children running about screaming. On reaching the sactuary of our room we were confronted with very load music. Management advised us that they could not get the volume turned down and that it would be going on till 1 o'clock. During our discussion with the day manager next morning he admitted that our compaints had not been logged as they should have been.
Broken trouser press in room, poor quality shower requiring updating of tiling/grouting
I liked everything about the hotel, and I found the quality of the food and portions excellent.
The hotel room was large and comfortable and the hotel itself is very pretty The hotel said check in is from 2pm but our room wasn't ready until 3.30, making us late for a reception we were going to.The drinks are also overpriced
our first double room on the ground floor, running along side bar was far to small, but once we up graded to the court yard it was amazing. wanted more option on the food menu, but your breakfast was great.
Comfort & style of the hotel.
its views The room was grubby and had cobwebs also ther curtains were grubby..asked for a twin got a double then complained so we then got a double with a single in..we gave up after that... breakfast was nice but 12 seater tables are not my idea of fun. too impersonal sitting next to 11 strangers eating your breakfast..
friendly and helpful staff good breakfast Bed mattress springs were very noticeable - quite uncomfortable No map available of local streets and area
free wifi night staff require a lesson in manners.
The Character of the hotel The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at present which meant that services you would normally expect were not available.
We got a nice welcome at the reception and given a key to the room. After walking up through an extensive quantity of stairways, we got to our designed room. They had kept for us a room for 4 people at the place of two. The first room, with a clean double bed, was dark, the only window was with a view on garbage and abandoned furniture, the bathroom had carpeting floor, always wet, because the tub-shower had no curtain, and the wall paper was coming off here and there. So we choose the upstair room with two windows with a nice view, a small TV, and a lot of furniture. The place had character, but kind a need some maintenance. The hotel is next to a few restaurants, the city bus pass by and you are close to the motorway, so convenient.
Restauarant was excellent with very attentive staff who were very professional There are certain areas which could be improved upon. The TV sets in the bedrooms could be upgraded and a little attention to detail in the bedrooms would lift the general standard of the hotel tremendously.
A very interesting hotel, I really liked it. The room I was in had carpet in the bathroom so of course you always have a slight smell of wet carpet from the shower etc
Restaurant facilities were very nice, it was quite quirky. Person on reception having an argument with the bell boy type bloke who I couldn't understand. My window looked out onto a brick wall 1.5 metres away, felt a bit run down but you have to remember they've intentionally made it look old fashioned including very flowery wallpaper etc.
Very cosy room decorated to seem like a Victorian 'bed-sit' Floor boards very creeky, and poor soundproofing which meant I could hear conversations next door, and their bed thumped against the wall whenever they moved.
Nicely designed hotel, very good breakfast, I fully recommend the hotel.
Individual style of rooms - striking and different Temperature fluctuations in corridoors
Not a faceless room - loved the 'old' style and especially the dining room. Renovations were taking place so did not view whole hotel Nothing
I loved this hotel! It was cute and quirky and very comfortable. A bit of a maze to manage at times, but that was part of it's charm! The food in the restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. All in all it was a wonderful stay, and I'll be back soon! The only minor fault was the amount of stairs, but I only really noticed that as I've not long recovered from a broken leg and am still a little wobbly...but without the stairs and corridors, it wouldn't be the same...so it didn't really bother me that much, but I could soo how someone with mobility issues would find it a struggle!
They had moved a month early to a completely no smoking policy and as they had renervations going on outside had no facility fo smokers at all.
Smart clean room equipped with everything we needed. The restaurant was closed on Sunday.
Ease of access, good parking, cleanliness and helpfulness of staff. Good range of refreshments and good breakfast.
The staff were very helpful, room facilities very good Full English breakfast would be nice.
The cleaniliness Many things: The rooms are badly designed and clinical. 1. The lighting is stark and cold. 2. There is no mirror at the dressing table and no hairdryer. 3. There are no drawers in the room. 4. The bedhead is cold, clinical and uncomfortable. 5. The shower layout makes it impossible for a woman to wash intimately because the shower the shower hose is attached to the shower rail and there is no jet setting on the shower head. 6. The bed is too low, too springy and too small. It is also too close to the wall. When my husband could not sit on the edge of the bed and stand-up to get out of bed, without banging his knees on the wall.
there was too much noise and our sleep was interrupted. had to call reception, but it was then sorted out.
the room was very clean! that internet was not available freely!
cleanliness and comfort of the room, ensuite was clean and functional breakfast and staff were very good. Thank you what appeared to be a lorry reving it's engine for quite some time in the early hours.( not your fault)
great location and geared for business travellers. there was a large stain on the carper in my room which was a bit off putting
Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Ice was available, as were toiletries if needed No rooms with bath option, no food available, staff just about polite but disinterested in the main.
There was no dinner served at the hotel. Apparently the hotel does not serve dinners over the w/e. I therefore had to find a local t/a and order food as I did not want to venture out again.
Room was very large, great views, and comfortable. The WiFi (which wasn't free) failed at 8pm, and didn't get resolved until 11:30pm. The hotel did, however, refund the charge.
location was very good for business in Dudley no problems
clean with goo sevice it so far from the city for business or for entertainment
Room, including bathroom/shower, was very clean and spacious with all necessary facilities available. Every member of staff that we came into contact with (restaurant, bar, reception, fitness/pool) were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant choice of meals was limited.
room was large and very comfortable breakfast was not good at all and the spa facility was very untidy
Needed to recieve some documents and front desk were very helpfull
Spacious bedrooms, good leisure facilities (although we didn't have time to use them) and situated close to the Merry Hill shopping centre. Good parking facilities. Wi Fi not free. The bar area was noisy due to a large group of young people (possibly from an event taking place at the hotel).
This was our second stay at the hotel, great location for our shopping trip to Merry Hill. The breakfast was excellent.
Only the fact that there was a huge stain on the carpet in our room.
Space and facilities in the room and locality
Hotel very clean. Staff friendly. Two people in our party one found they had no room booked one had been booked in wrong dates. This also happen to two other people checking in. New restaurant but staff poorly trained.
That it was only for 1 night! The general decor and feel of the place was horrible! Despite paying for an executive package, the room certainly did not live up to this!
Reception staff and the night porter excellent. Good value for money Made to feel unwelcome if just wanting a drink and no food. Seemed to be pushed into front balcony area which is not very pleasant.
Found that most needs were satisfactory and warrranted a further visit if plannd in the future We both felt tht the meal on the Sturday night was not of a particularly high standard. Soap dispenser not replenished.
Leaving the place Everything
The hotel is generally clean and comfortable due to recent refurbishment. I find the staff members, though friendly, were not very attentive and managed to bill me incorrectly.
Good bed, near meeting locations
comfortable beds, central location, warm welcome friends rooms not booked, other friends had to pay for two nights although only booked one night
Comfortable bed, Tv, evening receptionist pleasant and polite Black hairs all over the bathroom, bath too small to relax in, morning receptionist slow.
the rooms were of a good size well furnished and clean. The breakfast was excellent. drinks well over priced after midnight eg; £3 a pint and £10 for a double vodka and red bull
Friendly & helpful staff. Went out of their way to help.
Room quiet. Staff friendly and attentive. No problem for late arrivals. standard hygene very good. No tea-making facilities in room. Pillows hard.
Good access; modern comfortable room ( but could do with an easy chair); good secure parking ; warm ; quite . Breakfast very mixed, very limited choice of cereals and poor toast, but good fresh fruit. Didn't try cooked breskfast.
The staff were very efficient and thoughtful, the room was well decorated, clean and quiet.Breakfast was beautifully presented and tasty.I would certainly stay there again.
The price! It was freezing and there was no central heating on and it was below zero outside, I had to sleep with my clothes on! It had forecast cold temperatures but the hotel was left with no heating on!
The staff did try to provide service The room was shabby and extremely dark and cleanliness was poor. The shower didn't work. The heating only comes on for a set period in the evening so it was freezing at night.
Room was exceptionally spacious and well equipped, as was the bathroom. Both looked recently refurbished and the heating worked excellently! Breakfast was good quality (didn't eat evening meal in as there is an excellent Italian just up the orad and I love Italian food). Corridors etc were narrow and a bit tired. Couldn't make outgoing calls from extremely sophisticated phone in room. I had to go to bar to access free Wi-Fi as my room was out of range. Had full breakfast, but would have had to pay extra £6.50 to add half a grapefruit to this, which I thought a bit steep.
great place to stay - clean and comfortable room with good WIFI connection. Also very attractive young lady on reception - Katrina who was very polite and professional. Will book again when in the area for sure.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff Comfortable bed Quiet atmosphere Close to city centre Easy parking Room could have ben cleaner More tea bags in room(only 2!!)
Facilities appeared very good although only slept there and did not eat or drink there due to commitments elsewhere.Security was very good particularly with the car park having gates which were closed at midnight, very comforting considering we were on the ground floor facing the car park. Also very helpful that the hotel accepts Maestro cards as well as credit cards.
It is very convenient for us to attend theJehovah's Witnesses Assembly next door. This year there was excessive noise in the room above at 1am and at 3.45am. Talking laughing and moving furmtiure. The rooms are far to hot over night and even with the window open found the heat uncomfortable.
staff very friendly, good food and comfortable bed
bar servive and opening times not good for a hotel. not open durung day and bar closed at 11pm
wedding guests at a hindu wedding
Terrible bed - didn't get any sleep.
Breakfast was excellent value for money. Good parking space. Client- oriented attitude of staff, who were all very helpful, polite and accommodating, explaining system and giving local information. Convenient site for my business activities or even worth considering for family visits to the nearby castle and zoo in Dudley. I cannot think of any bad points except the nearby roadworks over which the hotel has no control.
The family room was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. I thought that the entrance to the Hotel and the reception were a bit shabby and could do with a total revamp.
I liked the big bedroom and big bathroom and comfortable bed and the room was clean and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe. The location was good only a few minutes from the town centre and bus station. The breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay at the Station Hotel. No
I think its a lovely hotel steeped in history and character. I liked the decor and the fact that its very close to the castle. All staff were polite and friendly. N/A
There was nothing we didn`t like about our stay , everything was excellent . The staff very helpful and friendly the food was top notch , We would definetely stay again
comfort and cleanness no
the room was so lovely thanks, staff are very help full thanks to them we will stop again thank you the out side there where a lot of cig butts did not look to nice as we dont smoke
apart from view, everthing was excellent veiw from bedroom
Newly refurbished bedrooms which were really nice and really comfy bed.
Convenience of the location
The hotel was handy for Dudley. The rooms were clean and tidy We stayed in a King Superior room, the bed was infact 2 single mattresses that kept coming apart
The overall standard of the hotel was very good We were given a free upgrade but the friends we were travelling were left in one of the standard rooms with the 1990 decor - How embarassing. The steaks were very tough and though we were given a free dessert it sort of took the shine off an otherwise nice meal. At £16.95 for a steak I expect better. Finally, if you are paying nearly £14 for 4 drinks you should expect glasses that look nicer than the inch thick functional things they use. The lemonade and pepsi looks flat when they put it in and I had to ask for ice. No sign od a slice of lemon. In summary, respond better to problems and pay attention to those details!!!
Staff courtesy, evening Meal, quality of breakfast, the coffee
The comfort and cleanness of my room no
