Pros: Situated in a beautiful medieval town. Cote Jardin was just delightful as were the owners and their family. Breakfast par excellent! The jams were made from fruit from their beautiful garden and croissants. It was our 2nd visit and we hope to stay there again. The restaurant opposite was excellent too.

Pros: Location: st Suzanne is very pretty. Bedroom: Huge. Separate bathroom & toilets. Separate bath & shower. Windows on 3 walls. Fan. Comfortable large bed. Very good looking room too. Hosts: Trés friendly. Breakfast: both generous and delicious
Cons: Nothing at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners were kind beyond anything we could expect. They provided everything we could need for our baby and also welcomed us with some delicious pastries made by the owner who is a professional patissier. They even made us sandwiches for the road because the local bakery was closed on a Monday morning! Breakfast was excellent and the house is just a minute walk from the beautiful medieval town centre of Sainte-Suzanne. We could enjoy a stroll in the morning that we left without any rush to pack and leave the room as they were incredibly accommodating.
Cons: We run out of the soap and shampoo provided the first night and they were not replaced. We used our own, though I imagine that they would have produced some more if we had asked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was my best staying at all, not in France only. I liked all – helpful and friendly owners, extremely tasty breakfasts, especially home-made confitures and croissant, clearness in apartment, nice garden and courtyard, beautiful location, comfortable parking. As summary – extremely highly recommended. Marcin et Dani, merci beaucoup pour des vacances parfaites. P.S. Sainte-Suzanne itself is very nice place.

Pros: Everything was perfect. It was a blend of the modern with elements of traditional. We had great conversation with our hosts, who are open and friendly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant owners provided a very good breakfast with delicious homemade jams. The private entrance was very nice as we arrived back after a wedding we attended in the early hours so good to not be disturbing anyone else.
Cons: Sadly the wi-fi was being worked on which would have been useful for planning the next day. Not the fault of the owners and wouldn't want it to detract from the overall charm of the place but for us that tend to rely of our technology a bit of a nuisance.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the room was light, nicely decorated and very spacious; excellent bed, greatspacious bathroom with nice shower, gardenview. the breakfast was a real treat... in a very nicely decorated home kitchen. i really enjoyed the viennoiseries (coffee rolls). of outstanding quality and the homemade confitures. the hosts were very friendly and welcoming and i received a jar of home made jam to take home!!! i arrived late and it was very nice that the hotel opposite in the street was available for dinner.
Cons: because of the location of the room the wifi reception was poor

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Logis de la Helberdière was just perfect. We had a wonderful welcome. The owner does not live there and it was our "castle" for one night! Breakfast was great. Good quality coffee, fresh croissants from the backery, home made jam. Beautiful well kept gardens to have a stroll, before or after breakfast, depending when you wake up ;-). Honestly we rarely felt pampered in such a way before.
Cons: Nothing! Only to mention that In late autumn or in winter the rooms/stone floors can be chilly. But be aware that Logis de la Helberdière is a former castle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a stunning house - complete seclusion, peace and privacy, alone amongst centuries of history at every turn. Brilliant hospitality with real personality and top notch breakfast of great croissants and homemade jams. We also saw the soon to be completed turret room which looks set to offer another level of accommodation... unique.. we will certainly be back.

The Mayenne is a lovely area and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else and have already planned a return visit.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great little hotel and this is my fourth stay over 5 years with no change in the excellent level of service, cleanliness and value for money. The proprietess is very nice and determined that her guests should be well looked after. Breakfast is very good. I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed cycling the Sarthe Velo routes.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet room, spacious and airy. Wonderful breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When you arrive in the hamlet and park across the church you wonder what you'd expect. Once entering inside you encounter a charming host and a wow-effect when visiting the rooms. We were a party of five to stay for 1 night. We reserved one family room (in the garden house) and one 2-person bedroom (which was in the main building). Both rooms were very nicely decorated with attention to detail. More important - the mattress and pillows were very good! - this is something personal but in our experience this part often receives much lower scores at other locations. The WiFi was perfect and complementary. The buffet breakfast was gorgeous - lots of choices: coffee, tea, warm milk, cold milk, orange juice, fresh fruits, yoghurts, bread, pastries, cheese, ham.... In short - this was a very, very good stay for us and we recommend this gem to others.
Cons: We arrived on a Sunday evening - not a lot of restaurants are open in the vicinity that day. No fault of the hotel - Just you know that you may have to drive to the nearest city for a chain restaurant that opens on Sundays
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and there is an excellent and very reasonably priced restaurant just next door for dinner.
Cons: Had to ask for a hair dryer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful, and the location good, just a short distance to join the motorway.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, charming in a tiny quaint town. We had a very good dinner next store in one of 3 business in town. A 7th century church was across the street from the hotel and the bells rang 100x early in the morning. It made me laugh.
Cons: The room was a little cramped. Breakfast was 9 euros each and was OK.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Well designed and very functional family room. Fantastic host who runs the hotel by herself. Very clean. Exceptional value for money
Cons: Wi-Fi didn’t work
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was in the rear converted stable annexe. It was enormous, extremely comfortable and very well presented. Breakfast was typically French continental and was correct for variety, quantity and price. Dinner was served in the adjacent restaurant, not owned/run by the hotel. The selection was limited but perfectly acceptable and very straightforward. The food was well presented and tasted good. You are advised to make it clear that you wish to eat, otherwise it may be closed

Pros: Very scenic town The House has been beautifully modernized with a lot of the old features included in the structure Our lovely room was in one of the towers The breakfast was excellent
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Manoir de la Grand’Cour for one night on our way from Paris to Saint Malo, and it was a very pleasant experience. Monique, one of the owners, contacted us via email a couple of days before our stay to give us instructions on how to enter our rooms since we would check in very late, and to know at what time we would like to have breakfast the following morning. Everything was explained very clearly and we had no trouble at all entering. The property is very beautiful, dating back to the 17th century. You enter a beautiful tower and climb a spiral staircase to reach the rooms on the first floor. Rooms and bathrooms are newly renovated, very well appointed and super clean and have all the comforts. We were a party of 5 and booked all 3 rooms, there was plenty of space and all the rooms can be connected so this is also a great place to stay for a family with young children, as there is also a small playground in the gated backyard. The following morning we had an excellent and abundant breakfast (croissants, pain au chocolate, fresh baguette, homemade yogurt and fruit jam, fresh fruit, orange juice/coffee/tea/hot chocolate etc …) sitting at the big wooden kitchen table, in the very cozy e bright kitchen/living room downstairs. Our experience was completely positive. The Manoir is beautiful and very charming and Monique has been a wonderfully welcoming host, we hope we will have the chance to go back in the future.

Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.

Cons: We had no issues with the property. However, it is worth knowing that the nearest restaurants are about 15 minutes drive. There is a bar in the village though.

Pros: The owners and staff were excellent. The evening meal was superb. The room was comfortable with lovely view of the garden and swimming pool, and the linen on the bed was the finest quality without any smell of detergent! We would have liked to have stayed more than the one night but the Tunnel was booked. We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant but there is also a bistro which we didn't have time to try but fellow guests enjoyed their meal there. We have no hesitation recommending this super hotel.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like except having to leave after one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so accommodating and friendly. We were travelling with a car and trailer and the hotel manager helped us find suitable parking. Rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was wonderful. Lively flaky croissants.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.

Pros: It is one of our favourite hotels and we always enjoy staying there, particularly the comfortable beds with wonderful crisp sheets, good food in the bistro with excellent service from the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As previous stays have shown the service is excellent, the bed super comfortable and the bathroom spotless. We found we were on a midweek deal which was very good value for money, I hope we can do this again.
Cons: The only very minor point is that, as we were eating on the terrace at the back of the bistrot, they could have made a bit more effort to make it more attractive, a pot of flowers or two would cheer up the space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and extremely helpful staff, brought our drinks outside for us even though we were the best Bly people outside
Cons: Nothin

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful. Lovely rooms In a charming building Pool, gardens and animals great for entertaining kids! Nice Bistrot
Cons: Only criticism is that the bed linen was hard / over starched
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A really comfortable bed - we slept like logs! The meal in the restaurant was out of this world - surpassing Michelin starred restaurants that we have visited previously.
Cons: The hotel was a little tired and in need of updating. There were some elements that could and should be dealt with as a matter of priority - for instance the large crack in the basin in the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in the front door. Nothing was a problem. We ate in the gourmet restaurant the evening of our stay and it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time! Could-not fault the quality of the meal and the warmth of the hosts, excellent value for money.

Featured amenities include luggage storage, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Perfect location to visit Monsetery of Solesmes. Reception staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Cons: Restaurant food was good but service was chaotic and slow with two serious errors over our order. It was wrongly assumed we were on Demi pension so at first not offered the menu. Then one dish that was brought was not what we ordered. The chef was blamed!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service, very quiet, lovely location. A gem of a hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was an EXCELLENT hotel and I will come back. The location was right across the road from the 2 monasteries -St cecilia nuns & St Peters monks.perfect for anyone visiting the abbey. Very peaceful beautiful walks nearby along the sarthe River and in the hills. Visit chapelle du nid and chemin d'abbaye, and belle Vue especially. decor is beautiful and sumptuous with gold and red everywhere. Rooms are huge and all had private balcony outside, mines also had two ensuites - separate toilet room and bathroom room. In the room there is a lot of storage. Rooms were heated to a good warm temperature of around 23 degrees. Many plug sockets, very clean, room had well stocked soft drink and spirit minibar. Room keyrings are shaped like the pipe organ at St Peters monastery opposite. The restaurant was very sumptuously decorated and quite high end (bring smart clothes for dinner). The dinner menu was gourmet French style with things like canard fois gras. you can have room service from the same menu without being charged the British "tray charge". However I am vegetarian and the only thing on the menu I could eat was dessert. They offered to make me something special but I didn't bother. I highly advise bringing your own food or going out if you are vegan or vegetarian (this is actually for the whole locality) The breakfast was Amazing and worth 14 euro. It is a continental buffet wide selection of hot and cold drinks and juices and Real coffee.orange is freshly squeeze with bits in it. Wide selection of pastries croissants jams Nutella cakes yoghurts meats and cheeses and cereals. Easy to get a table for breakfast as not crowded. The hours of breakfast 7am up to 11am which is very flexible. Staff were amazing. They all spoke English and were very helpful and keen to make your stay great even offered me a lift in car The gym is a converted hotel room which you book out so it's for you alone.
Cons: The location is perfect for visiting the two monasteries. But it is half hour walk to the shop or any outside restaurant (there is a small quiet e bar/alcohol shop nearby) and an hour walk to train station. So bring a car. There is some nice walks but not a whole lot going on here. So it wouldn't be a good place for a youngsters party holiday. Everything in the area closes on Sunday and it is very hard to get any taxi and the hotel restaurant is also closed Sunday night. therefore book your Sunday taxis a week in advance and include taxis to any restaurant or shop for food on Sunday. There are only three taxis in the area - philver, Saboliens and besoin - some work with more than one firm. Book in advance for all journeys and they do not have websites or speak English therefore you will have to call them and book on the phone in French h. Sncf taxis, mytaxi, i taxi, and allotaxi app, Mon transport all do not serve this area. However the hotel is able to book you taxis while you are staying The jacuzzi in the gym was too cold with no way to change temperature For the brits - there is no kettle or hot drinks facility in the room or elsewhere, you will have to order tea in room service at 5 euro. The monastery bells chime extremely loudly and it is hard to sleep though it. I liked this but others may not. There were no vegetarian options on the restaurant dinner menu or room service so vegetarians book cab for dinner or bring your own. WiFi was not that good, slow and often cutting out and reloading but it was free so that's good. And necessary since phone signal round here is variable
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Good breakfast. Great location next to the abbey.
Cons: No air conditioning so the room was too hot. The carpets on the stairs need to be renewed.

Cons: Nowhere to put suitcases whilst unloading
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality & restaurant.
Cons: We used satnav to locate hotel, but made the mistake of only putting in the post code and road name. The satnav took us to Sable sur Sarthe which also has the same post code and road of the same name whereas the hotel is in Solesmes a small town a few kilometres away.

Pros: It was a good experience for 1 night the children loved it. The staff where so good and helpful they where children friendly
Cons: As our French Language is minimal we missed the evening entertainment knowledge The weather didn't help as it rained
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fun place. Not often get to stay in a Tipi. Very friendly and helpful staff. There are huskies onsite, a wolf, horses and a donkey! History and spoken word about the life of the American Indians reflecting that its partly run by them. You can try and build your own Tipi fire (training provided) and experience their way of life. You can also do your own thing if you wish.
Cons: Be aware that French is main language, the English is a bit basic, so top up on your language skills if you have a particular request. We didnt find it a problem despite our very basic French. Also check arrangements for eating onsite. Surrounding area is not well populated with bars and restuarants and there are days when nothing is open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean site, very authentic Indian camp set up, lovely helpful staff . Make sure you get pulled along by huskys, great fun
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent so even though we spoke little French they all made us feel really welcome. It was certainly not our usual overnight stop - never slept in a tipi before - but overall we had a great experience.
Cons: We tried to make our own fire in the tent. All went well thanks to staff explaining how to do it but it did mean the tent became very smokey and I mean very smokey. That said, it was all part of the fun so this is more an observation and not a complaint.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and had obviously been updated. The food was good. There is only a little parking immediately outside the Hotel which was full when we arrived. We had to park down another road and got rather wet carrying our bags back to the Hotel.
Cons: The bedroom although clean, needed a complete refurbishment, very dated. The showered was just a trickle of water!!

Cons: no fan, no television, no garden(see a property description), no good walks (see description), nothing do do near, very very poor breakfast, only sweet, no yogurt or pastries. we stay a lot in chambres d'hôtes but never had such horrible breakfast. the price is tooooooo high for what it is
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom and the surroundings.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this gite was above and beyond my expectations. The location was so calm, tranquil, and the grounds were stunning with so many lovely places to sit and enjoy the views. The spaces were very private and well thought out, many details unusual to a gite in France, and the host, Isabele, was extremely thoughtful and caring. I am SO glad that I asked to add-on dinner. Isabele is a CHEF! Informally trained or not, her five-course meal with drinks was one of the best I have had in France. And I have lived here part-time for 8 years! Breakfast was a perfect start to the day. I loved the entire experience. Absolutely would come back again.
Cons: I would say that these are just good things to know. I loved everything. But I wish there had been a hairdryer in my room, but I got the chance to air dry my hair for a change, so it was nice. But I would have been a bit upset if I did not have a hairdryer for many days. I also have back problems and the bed was a bit stiff, but that has nothing to do with the gite and everything to do with my poor back!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very understanding lady/owner, was brilliant as we were very late and away early. Very accommodating.
Hotel Saint Francois - Précigné - Bedroom

5.5 Okay
Pros: The town was pretty
Cons: Bathroom smelt of drains, pigeons roosting in the roof above the bedroom, cooing for most of the day and evening. Shower and sink waste water did not drain away. Very slow WiFi.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Traditionally French. Good location. Clean and showed signs of fairly recent positive maintenance.
Cons: N/A
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfy. Staff very helpful and went out of their way to ensure you had all you needed.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was lovely. The shower was good. The taste in decor was simple but classy.
Cons: The bed and pillows were not very comfortable. The protector on the mattress was plastic so made the night uncomfortabley sweaty. The town was limited in its amenities, nowhere to get a meal in the evening.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome despite their limited English and our limited French. Room spacious and comfortable but only one pillow each supplied - ask for more if required. Only one 'plat du jour' and two or three desserts for evening meal but extremely tasty and very good value. Bar stock limited - no G&T - but good wine. A little off beaten track but easy to find, safe, off road parking to rear of hotel and an easy distance from Dieppe ferry for a first night.
Cons: The weather!
