10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and charming heritage (14th c.) building loaded with charm and atmosphere in quiet little town near the motorway. Easy access from Vitre. Walled Parking. Friendly charming sophisticated host(ess). Fantastic value. Wonderful farm/family breakfast served in a fantastic old room. Super clean and quiet, no barking dogs. Large cheerful room and bathroom. Amazing history to the building.
Cons: Having to leave.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house has history and character, a good 'feel' and we enjoyed being in a country setting. We also enjoyed conversations with our host. A memorable, if brief, stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Dagmar was warm and thoughtful and so good with our young children. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and charming. We had a lovely super of galettes. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we hope to stay again in the future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess, Dagmar, is a wonderful and very hospitable person. She takes care of every possible detail to make her guests' stay perfect and unforgettable. Brava.....no bravissima The building is exquisite and maintains its historical beauty and the rooms are tastefully furnished. We would recommend Au Presbyte're de Dagmar to anyone who is looking for a special place to unwind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely warm welcome by Dagmar and very interesting chat on the history of the surrounding area. Charming old presbytery in peaceful village, a memorable stay. Great breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice quite location, Dagmar made us very welcome and provided an extensive breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We missed our flight connection and were thus rather late arriving. Dagmar was most accommodating our later arrival and even allowed us to join her and her lovely daughter for a bite, which was wholly unexpected, delightful and most appreciated. The property is out of the way, quiet and in a delightfully historic building. Our room was on the top floor and had angled ceilings, and especially comfy bed and a great shower. My only concern would be to stay in the heat of the summer in this top floor room. Kudos Dagmar and thanks so much for your consideration and generosity. Highly recommended.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: House and guest room were great. Owner, Dagmar, was very attentive and helpful. Room was at the top of the house and, with the scorching weather, was very hot but this was solved by the fans supplied by Dagmar. Property is well situated to explore Vitre or Rennes.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in an interesting old property off the beaten track. Friendly host. Lots of space to sit & relax. Close to path by river so we had a pleasant walk and enjoyed a simple supper at the small restaurant near the campsite. Excellent continental style breakfast served by Anne in the kitchen:juice, yoghurt and several fruit preserves all homemade were delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful house in a quaint town. The loft room was so spacious for our family and it was very comfortable, so cosy that I just wanted to stay there and enjoy the homey feel upon checkin. Kids enjoyed the home cinema entertainment. Outside the garden was a great space for my daughter to explore with the river a great place to go for a quiet walk and enjoy the atmosphere. My only regret is not staying here longer, I only had one day. Breakfast was really nice and it felt like an old style B&B with the owner catering for us personally. Owner spoke excellent English but was patient to entertain listening to our efforts at French too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners and beautifully appointed - we had a billiard table in our suite and toys and books appropriate for children which was ablovely touch! Roaring fire with breakfast and beautifully flaky croissants, pain au chocolat and fresh bread with home-made conserves - delish! A charming place to stay, we will be back!

6.3 Good
Pros: The hosts were very accommodating especially with the arrangements for the cycles - they exceeded our expectations on this.
Cons: Too many house rules not known to us when booking - NO shoes to be worn inside the property - NO food or drink in the room - Breakfast was good quality but poor selection and quantity - Bathroom was advertised as Private but we ended up sharing with other guests! Also no Kitchenette and facilities around that for private use - only to use the hosts own kitchen etc . We expected our own fridge, toaster, microwave and to eat in our own lounge. Also on the web site the lounge shown is the hosts lounge not the one we used although this was ok. No Garden view from the room only next doors property which looked derelict . The advert/ information needs to be much clearer on all aspects.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, helpful staff,
Cons: Hotels never seem to have very large bath towels, and as a lady I like to wash my hair when I shower. If I use the bath towel for myself, the small towel is not large enough to wrap around my hair. If, when travelling with my husband, I use the second large towel for my hair, he only gets the small towel. 2 hand towels & at least 3 much larger towels would be better. Also a shower cap would be appreciated.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast offered was really nice and good. We arrived at aroud 8 pm and asked for a good place to have dinner, we were told by the owner about a really nice place in town with big portions and good prices. The room was really nice and also the rest of the house. The bed for two was not huge but quite nice since we stayed just one night. We also had two cars full of luggage but it was safe parking since we were able to leave them in the garden and the area seemed safe.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the experience of staying in a chateau for a reasonable price. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The grounds are well worth walking around, and the town is pleasant. Breakfast was simple but adequate. There is a restaurant within walking distance for an evening meal.
Cons: We arrived and there was no one at the reception. By chance we noticed a small post-it on the window with a phone number to ring. The owner answered and though he was off site soon arrived to let us in. Because of the age and nature of the building some of the facilities are basic, but perhaps this adds to the experience.
6.8 Good
Pros: To stay at Chateau de Craon was an enjoyable experience. The grounds were inviting encouraging us to walk and to explore and we found our trip overall quite relaxing. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. The home-made jam very tasty.
Cons: Lack of room attention - i.e. toilet roll, soap, dry towel, bed making and perhaps a choice of cheese for breakfast would have been an extra change on one of the mornings. Arriving back at the Chateau after dark if we'd gone out for dinner was not great - no lights to welcome us even though it wasn't late at night. I would pack a torch for our next stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a chateau. What more can you say. Our room was lovely. The host was great. Lovely breakfast room and best coffee so far. The creperie across the road did a great steak.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Amazing place. It is like stepping into an adventure experiencing surroundings that only exist in fairytales. Strangely enough, it felt like staying with family as the host was excellent, caring, thoughtful but not overbearing. All the details in small things, the furniture, the accessories everything fitting a life in a palace. For a brief moment, it felt just like that, living in a palace in another era.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Chateau is really a special place to stop and spend time. The Count, Countess and their whole family were charming, welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable. We made full use of the fantastic grounds and the swimming pool. Certainly one of the best places we have ever stayed in, in France and will definitely revisit. Highly recommended!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing, it had everything you could wish for.

Cons: Noise when flushing the toilet
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel manager is very cool person, and was very helpful and friendly The room had everything i needed, from a small disk and chair for working to the awesome olive soap and shower gel. The location of the hotel is ideal if you are visiting the main parts of the city, as well as the Laval Virtual exhibition. Although i didn't have breakfast, it looked really nice.
Cons: The room was a bit loud because it had two windows directly on the street, so if you are a light sleeper like me, be sure to drop an email and ask for a room in the back, as it will be much more quite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel close to the historical center of the city.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Despite indicated time of reception hours in the confirmation, the manager was available earlier in the afternoon. Yet, this probably is not the rule;-)

Cons: Beautiful ensuite bathroom with two huge his & hers washbasins, shower, bath, bidet with loads of space. But to use the toilet in the middle of the night one has to wander down the corridor to a separate toilet available to others. Not what I expect for ensuite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bathroom a good size and the breakfast was very good. We asked for some yogurt which was provided. Lovely coffee and bread. We did not book ahead so nothing available in Vitre but this was the night before.
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was spacious, clean, lovely communal areas, location excellent for Laval, host very friendly, great coffee provided free and sweets a nice touch! A real gem in our opinion. Met some lovely other guests but more or less had place to ourselves most of the time.
Cons: Communication was a bit difficult but that speaks more about my lack of French than the hosts lack of English! Would have liked option of checking in earlier than 5pm - didn't get a clear answer to my email request and not clear whether we could just turn up at 5pm or had to ring ahead so host could meet us there. And then waited outside property for ten minutes not realising host was inside already! Just a minor gripe due to difficulty communicating.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very clean. quiet location but near to the river and all the restaurants and bars. Didn't have a car so parking not a problem. Nice kitchen if you were self catering. We walked down from the train station no problems.
Cons: Tried to drop our luggage off before check-in but calls went to answer phone. Owner turned up late for our check-in but only by 10mins or so. Nice lady.

Pros: Apartment and Bedrooms were very clean. Staff Friendly and showed us all to our rooms individually and explained where everything was. 10minute walk from the train station and another 5minute walk till your in the centre of Laval. everything around us and lot of information on where to eat, taxi's and other activities in the apartment which helped us a lot.
Cons: Lighting in my room was a bit dull when I was doing my make-up so I went and used the bathroom light which was a lot brighter. It could of done with an iron and ironing board with it being and apartment and please list that you provide hairdryers in the rooms on your site as we took our own but they weren't needed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with privet bathroom. Shared kitchen is wide and well equipped. Clean. Friendly land lady. Few restaurants and supermarkets (as well as train station) close by.
Cons: No elevator - climbing the narrow stairs is a little bit tough with the suitcase. Parking in the street is a matter of luck (fortunately we had one...)
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing ... it was a non-starter, as I had to buy other accommodation for two nights at the Great Western hotel in Laval.
Cons: A reception area and access to the property, which had been informed of my reschedule and estimated time of arrival (within the time given). No car parking around the area, all taken up by local residents or no parking signage. Google pictures are different to reality today. No signage on main road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: clean and warm place, you find what you need. Not far from the train station
Cons: a little difficult to access the room given the many stairs
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice old house in quiet street close to centre. Spacious and very private room in the attic with view over the roofs. Shared kitchen and livingroom on lower level. Everything spotless and modern. Secure place for bicycles and very near Vélo Francette. Nice owner who doesn't live in the house, but nearby. Laval is an interesting old town, worth to visit. Mind that you have to climb a lot of stairs!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the food and presentation of the evening meal was excellent and the wine list was quite extensive. The room was quaint and comfortable and there was an adequate breakfast. The spa facility was small but well presented and the availability of a massage was much appreciated after a hectic day. The friendly staff made one feel more than welcome and the hotel is reasonably well situated on the edge of the old quarter of Laval.
Cons: A mini bar in the room would have been appreciated but there is not much to dislike about this hotel. It is a hotel of character and as such any criticism would deflect from what it has to offer, namely, quality accommodation and high quality food to remember.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, good location if you're staying in Laval, quiet but a very short walk to all the sites and restaurants, etc. Parking is good, I think they also have underground parking but we didn't bother as the parking out the front was pretty secure. Just to note if you take a room with a balcony (we did) ours was near the pool on the ground floor (not a criticism), so its great if you want to step out into the pool area, have drinks outside your room etc, but may lack privacy if you're expecting it to be an upper floor. Overall a lovely big clean room (upgraded balcony room), with decor on point (imho), we were only there a single night but really enjoyed it!
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place to stay and really helpful staff - we were travelling with our one-year-old and they were very accommodating. Dinner in the garden was wonderful. Our suite was gorgeously French and pink!
Cons: Ideally a slighter fuller menu - the food was certainly excellent but we would have liked more choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in a lovely French town.
Cons: Cannot think of anything.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with gorgeous gardens and pool. The Hannam and sauna were a bonus. Nice walk to the city centre and river. The staff were incredibly responsive and accommodating. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Very quiet at night and generally a very calm and relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: The rooms were quite warm and there is no cooling. The beds had no top sheet, which means on a hot summer night the only cover was a thick duvet/doona. For a luxury hotel I would expect to have proper bedding and some form of cooling, even fans. The full price tariffs are a bit steep for this hotel. But it’s still a lovely hotel to stay in.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great pool
Cons: Only a door out to terrace so room very warm at night as you couldn’t leave door open
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fab location Lovely building
Cons: Staff took ages to serve at bar and just ignored you Asked for towels they arrived the next day
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The old features
Cons: Only hot water at the bathroom basins
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fresh continental breakfast. Restaurant was excellent value with the menu du chef although very pricey wine list. Started around 45€++++. We had a lovely suite overlooking the gardens but with 40c+ temperatures we could have done with air con rather than a fan. Staff were lovely. We made good use of the outdoor pool
Cons: Wine list with a few value options and air con

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was excellent Bedrooms very good
Cons: Being British a fried breakfast would have been lovely Or a couple of boiled eggs and toast The breakfast was very good but possible not to our taste
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Secluded setting away from the bustle. Very friendly family who really made us feel welcome. Superb facilities with generous, well appointed accommodation. Great breakfast where everything was either produced on the farm and/or was bio (organic). Would thoroughly recommend.
Cons: You really need to know where you’re going to find it - but please search it out. A great venture that needs supporting!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very calm location surrounded by fields. Big rooms, very comfortable and super clean. Breakfast was very fresh with lots of fresh products from the farm (bread, milk...). Hosts were welcoming.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Shower
Cons: Directions from internet terrible.noobody there to meet me in the middle of nowhere.no food availability.organic produce been there for weeks ,water from tap had bad smell, not a place I would consider again.never
4.5 Okay
Pros: I liked the fact that it is a true farm and hat the bathrooms are neat and clean.
Cons: However, the beds amwrre very smelly and I felt they had not been really cleaned. It smelled like previous guests perspiration and that was not very nice. The price is really high for this kind of result
4.5 Okay
Pros: Not a lot.
Cons: Garden view was tarmac -no curtains -poor shower head --lighting poor --worst breakfast we have ever had in France .Bread stale Owner did not show up ---asked to pay the day before .--avoid this place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Biologite is a genuine family run organic farm, with a family greeting from the lady of the house. Everything is spick & span, bathrooms new, the bed furnishings are very good, of interesting old-fashioned style, fitting well with a feeling that this is a genuine large farmhouse. We did need our satnav to find it. The area is rich in must-do tourist places, e.g. Vitre, a fabulous fortress with the conical-roofed towers and another different one at Fourges, just up the way. All of eastern Britanny is accessible and that is one of the most fabulous parts of France.
Cons: nothing

Overview Reviews
Located in Daon, Château des Lutz is in a regional park, within a 15-minute drive of Contigne Cathedral and Church of La Jaille-Yvon. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Château des Lutz is a charming and elegant place full of History. Perfect place to stay for a couple or with the full family. We will be back!
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was great and close to a small village with a great restaurant (La Taverne). The chateaux itself is a lovely looking property which has been in the family for generations apparently. The public rooms are furnished with antiques and give an authentic experience.
Cons: The bedding looked like it had seen better days and the towels were hard and worn. The toiletries on offer were mostly empty, no soap provided other than a couple of little sachets of shower gel. Thankfully I didn't need to use any as I had brought my own! The bath was child size in the room I stayed in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of this beautiful rural castle was very welcoming, offering us an excursion in the castle and the surroundings. He prepared an excellent three-course dinner by himself and adjusted the breakfast time for us. In the morning, we saw lots of different animals (deer, peasants, blackbirds) in the forest nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely chateau! Very authentic. Expect creaking floorboards and lots of antiques. Had a lovely time.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is a fabulous small chateaux set in beautiful grounds with the bonus of a pool. The host was very welcoming and helpful,Inc booking a creperie in the village which was also superb,he gave us a drink after we returned from dinner, this we enjoyed sat in front of the chateaux The breakfast was set in a lovely dining room, the ambience of the whole building made us feel special,we would like to return and explore the area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I didn't think this was going to be an impressive place but although it doesn't look grand, it has a lot of character and the land area of the property is very extensive, and includes other homes.
Cons: The long private road into the property has far too many potholes, so take it very carefully.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A unique experience, somewhat surreal, and certainly memorable. Follow the eccentric yet warmhearted directions provided by Louis (and expect your car to look like it's been on safari) and you won't get lost. The chateau, more like a manor house, is a family home full of memories and memorabilia. Bit like a time warp. It was over 30 degrees so good to have a pool.. Breakfast was included which is unusual in France, but then you couldn't just pop into town for a coffee and croissant....some have said they thought it shabby. But what do you expect? It is an old house that has seen life, rather like the owner! The photos are far more manicured than it actually is.
Cons: Make contingency plans for dinner. Nearest town is Daon, where the one restaurant on the Mayenne River was fully booked. But we had brought supplies from supermarket earlier, so had a picnic in the grounds of the chateau.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property and the host were a welcome surprise and although the property was showing its age is places the overall ambiance was amazing, the host was a delight and extremely accommodating. We will be returning.
Cons: The breakfast was very minimal and lacked options.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful location and a beautiful house
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful small chateau,a wonderful ambience throughout and very comfortable bedroom The grounds are excellent for exploring, there is a nice pool which our granddaughter enjoyed plus trampoline and table tennis The owner is very friendly and helpful,he booked us in the local creperie which was vg value and superb galettes
