Pros: Staff, food and walks.
Pros: Beautiful buildings in a quiet and rural location. The staff was excellent and arranged a massage for us. We had two dinners there which were excellent and accommodated our food allergies.
Cons: Nothing as was was great.
Pros: Staying at Villa Pedra provides an incredibly beautiful place to rest, relax, & just enjoy the ambience. It is a small village & each villa is beautifully done. We stayed in The Jasmim House with it’s terraced gardens. Fresh bread was brought to us each morning & our dinners fixed by Marta were outstanding! We were able to explore the region & return home in the evening to a beautiful space & delicious meal. Their attention to detail is excellent. This is our second time staying at Villa Pedra & hopefully it won’t be our last!!
Pros: We HIGHLY recommend Villa Pedra Natural House. The location is stunning (surrounded by farms and little towns), the staff was incredibly kind and helpful (especially Sarah), and our room was beautiful (a converted school! so cool!). For a romantic weekend, we couldn't recommend it more. Note: it is pretty isolated, so you have to eat at the hotel. But, they provide a kitchen if you want to cook on your own, or you can reserve dinner at their little restaurant which is delicious (and very homey).
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect
Pros: All three the people we dealt with were amazing. Martha is a fantastic cook!!! Sarah and Lino were attentive, informative and wonderful!! We would love to go back. Maybe next time we could stay longer!!
Pros: The villa was beautifully decorated with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and the linen was lovely. The breakfast (with fresh bread/cake/eggs/meats delivered to our villa) was perfect for us and the dinner was amazing.
Pros: We spent two nights in Villa Pedra located near Coimbra. It was an abandoned village with ruined stone houses that these two gentlemen have lovingly restored since 2008. Each Villa is has a kitchen and is stocked with everything you need to prepare breakfast. Fresh bread is delivered to your doorsteps every morning and for dinner, Marta cooks a delicious dinner that that can serve in your kitchen or their Cozinha. Each home is unique and special. Our home for 2 nights was Villa Jasmim. One finds peace and tranquility here, thanks Manuel & Victor for creating paradise. Obrigada.
Pros: Peaceful, quality accommodation in a unique rural location. Exceptional food and service.
Pros: Villa Pedra is exquisite. In this beautiful, gentle, natural setting, we felt a sense of being away from it all — while perfectly located to explore the local countryside, Roman and medieval ruins, and other delights of central Portugal. The innkeepers were friendly, informative, and helped to make our stay exceptional. Fresh bread delivered to your doorstep in the morning, beautiful homecooked meals, thoughtful and welcoming hosts - we were so very well cared for and could not recommend this place more highly.
Pros: Excellent place about 40 mins drive from Coimbra. It's remote so the perfect get away. The weather was against us during our stay so no lounging by the pool unfortunately but we'd definitely go again, and there was enough 'rainy' stuff to do. You have the option of eating at their restaurant or use the self-catering facilities (we did both). Bread and biscuits are delivered daily. Marta and Sara couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I would definitely recommend.
Located in Penela, Eira do Vez is in the mountains, within a 10-minute drive of Penela Castle and Church of San Miguel. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Homemade warm bread for breakfast! Amazing views. Our children loved the goats, chickens and kittens. The hosts were helpful and kind. Beds and linens were high quality. Very comfortable. We would definitely plan to come back again!! One of our best stays ever. Even the sofa bed was very comfortable for our large 10 & 12 year olds to share.
Located in Penela, HD Duecitânia Design Hotel is on a river, within a 5-minute drive of Penela Pillar and Penela Castle. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff in the reception was helpful, breakfast was good and varied.
Cons: Room bathroom had some weirs stains on some panels. AC only working for heat without advertisements, even if configured for cooling mode (heated the room into an unacceptable temperatures ad had to change rooms past 1 AM. Our shower in the room leaked water through all of the bathroom floor. SPA jacuzzi shoots cold water (?? Cold water jacuzzi?) and indoor pool shower is rusted. Overall, for a 4 star hotel I feel it should be better maintained.
Pros: The room was stunning. The views and the atmosphere around the hotel are difficult to beat
Cons: The fact the spa zone was not working properly. The sauna was not hot enough to call it a sauna, and the Turkish bath was not even working.
Pros: Is what it says on the tin.
Cons: Kettle in the room.
Pros: Location, staff
Pros: The external swimming pool was great. The restaurant was amazing
Cons: The internal Jacuzzi was not working properly. The space around the swimming pool need some repairs
Pros: Lovely hotel, it was a beautiful day so we enjoyed the outdoor pool. The indoor pool, sauna and Turkish baths were delightful.
Cons: We did not particularly enjoy the buffet evening meal, the food was bland and boring with a choice of beef or fish. This is an area that can be improved on. All the desserts seemed to be custard-based!!!!
Pros: From check in to check out nothing was too much trouble great staff
Pros: Amazing restaurant, food, staff, big rooms! Nice spa and nice in door pool. 100% recommended.
Pros: The breakfast was very good
Cons: The SPA could be better. The turkish bath was very smelly

Pros: Hostess Laurinda was fantastic. Outstanding slightly ‘off the Camino) but well worth the detour. Gorgeous, quiet, peaceful rural location. Complete facilities with close-by Bar/cafe/restaurant. Elegant old, perfectly renovated farm manor. Loved our stay!
Pros: Quite and peaceful. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and it seemed like we had the place to ourselves
Cons: Everything good. No complaints
Pros: Great family run inn. They work hard to make you happy. Cold beer on arrival. Common area well furnished. Same family runs the restaurant.
Cons: A little off the Camino.
Pros: Convenient for an event we were attending nearby, clean big room with private shower room and good water pressure. It had a Very nice looking swimming pool that we didn’t use as we had no time.
Cons: There were no blinds on the patio door which meant quite a lot of light in the room in the morning. The main window didn’t have blackout curtains so we woke up early. It’s also quite near the local church and the bells ring every 30mins (not during the night) so again our morning sleep was interrupted.
Pros: It was not advertised we had to share the bathroom with another room and that was undesirable. The property needs to be updated, but the owners are fantastic. They go out of their way to give you a good service. They own a restaurant 200 mts away and Luis even drove back with our dinner that night so we did not have to walk.
Cons: To share the bathroom, especially it was not advertised.
Pros: We stayed at the Casa Vale Florido whilst walking the Caminho Portuguese. Some previous reviews have said Casa Vale Florido was a little difficult to find, as it is in a village which runs parallel to the Caminho route. However, with a little help from a cafe owner in the nearby village of Alvorge, and GPS, we found the house quite easily. We had been told to stop off in the nearby cafe bar, Adail Luis, for the keys (about 5 minutes walk). Here we were met by Laurinda, the owner, who walked with us to the house and showed us around. Casa Vale Florido is a traditional Portuguese house in a quiet lane. I think the house has about 8 rooms, which are mostly en-suite. The bedrooms share a living room, kitchen and garden. The latter of which has a stone built barbecue, table tennis table and a swimming pool! There is also another undercover seating area near the pool. At the time we were the only guests - all these facilities to ourselves! The house would be a great place for a small group to share. We ate dinner in the nearby Adail Luis, which was really good, especially Laurinda’s creme caramel! We were quite sad to leave the next morning. Laurinda gave us some good dirt to get back on the Caminho Portuguese
Cons: Not that it was a problem but point to note, there is no air conditioning in the house
Pros: We had the whole house to ourselves. Place was so quiant and cozy. Owners were so nice, owned a restaurant about 100meters away. Good food!
Pros: The owner was friendly and made us feel welcome. The dinner and breakfast at her cafe just down the road were fabulous. It also gave us the opportunity to experience the local atmosphere without tourists. It is about 2 miles off the Camino but well worth the extra distance. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. And she has laundry available! I highly recommend this property.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Pros: Reception and sympathy from the person who received us.
Cons: Confort was lousy. Very cold place. Room was cold during the night, despite some heat connected on the room. Also, the house is located on a gas station and hypermarket place.
Pros: Near supermarket very friendly owner Hot good shower
Pros: A big accommodation for a nice price
Pros: Rien nothing horrible
Cons: Imposdible open the small window and get air Noise of the teuck of highway All plastic until roof, impossible ti breath No terase, NO wifi!!! All lie and distress
