With a stay at Castello Di Caccuri Suites in Caccuri, you'll be in a national park, and 17.4 mi (28.1 km) from Sila National Park and 16.5 mi (26.6 km) from Ampollino Lake. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, express check-in, and express check-out. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a cruise ship terminal shuttle.
Pros: A unique place. Very good breakfast.
Cons: There's absolutely nothing in town. You have to drive to another town for a restaurant, if the only one in Caccuri is closed, as it was both nights we were there.
Pros: Atmosphere and hospitality
Pros: Amazing place to stay! I never experienced such hotel-castle. The owner showed us almost all rooms and chapel with great paintings!
Cons: All was great!
Pros: This is a lovely place, charming and really authentic. The guest room was exactly as I had seen and the staff were wonderful, we laughed with them and had a really fun time.
Cons: No parking on site and given it's a castle.....there's a hill! The proprietor did however contact me offering a luggage collection service free of charge which was unexpected and rather nice.
Pros: The setting is beautiful and the rooms are big and very well put together.
Pros: Staying in the Castle was fabulous. The rooms are luxurious and quite big. Everything is personalized, the towels, and the sheets all have the family crest and are just perfect. The host was wonderful to deal. He booked us into the local restaurant which was fabulous and an experience we will never forget. We were happy to pay 5 Euro each for the tour of the Castle in the morning. It’s so worth it to see the art work and parts in original condition dating back to 69 AD. Worth every moment. Such a wonderful experience.
Pros: Absolutely amazing place. You can feel like a fairytale. Stuff was very friendly and helpful. He made a reservation in local place to have a dinner. Breakfast was amazing. Atmosphere is unicue! Very romantic place.
Pros: A castle, it’s just what you’d imagine a castle to be, what a wonderful experience and at a very reasonable rate. Much restoration has been done, it’s comfortable with beautiful furnishings and paintings. Don’t expect luxury modern trappings, this is authentic. The views from our room, the turrets and tower are wonderful. The owner Armando was also our host and couldn’t have been more obliging. We were the only people staying yet he put himself out to give us a guided tour and came to our rescue when we were lost. Breakfast was a sight to behold with varied local delicacies including cakes and biscuits baked that morning.
Cons: It is possible to drive right up to the castle if you know the way, and only if you have a car less than 2 metres wide and are skilled enough to take very tight turns. Better to leave the car in the square below and call Armando. There are 3 eateries in the village but not open on a Monday so it was a 20 minute run to Crotone for us.
Pros: Italy at it's best! A beautiful hillside location with breathtaking views. To experience the host's tour of the Castello was a privilege. His knowledge of and passion for the property was inspiring. Breakfast was the best we have experienced. Local cakes, cereal, juice, croissants, yoghurt, fresh fruit, meats, cheese and more. All beautifully displayed and fresh. The staff were warm and made us very comfortable. No trip to Calabria is complete without an evening or two at this marvellous destination!!
Cons: Nothing at all, the road to the Costello was narrow but that is Italy.
Pros: Caccuri was a very cute town, though very limited in terms of restaurant options. Our biggest problem was that the room was very claustrophobic - though the 2 rooms were large, they had very tiny windows and virtually no light. The best part of the castle was the lawn at the top of the castle where the tower is, but on one of the evenings we stayed there is was inaccessible as it was rented out for a private function. Breakfast was very good and the hosts were very nice and helpful.
Cons: The rooms - very claustrophobic - though the 2 rooms were large, they had very tiny windows and virtually no light.

Pros: Great value for money. The owners are very nice and helpful and the room was perfectly adequate for our needs. The hotel restaurant needs a special mention, the food was fantastic - homemade, delicious, plentiful! The hotel is well situated in a lovely area and we will be sure to return.
Cons: Cold hotel, the 4 of us in 2 separate rooms FROZE all night. Hotel lied about aspects of our stay and kept lying and digging themselves into an even bigger hole of lies. Food unbelievably bad - dont waste your money on breakfast especially. We stayed in 6 different hotels around Ity during our travels and all of them getting 10/10. This one 0/10 in every aspect!
Pros: Extremely friendly and accommodating.

Pros: Check in was quick and simple. The staff were all so friendly. They also helped us in organising an activity the next day. The food during dinner was delicious and we could relax by a lovely fire.
Cons: Breakfast was quite simple with mostly sweet items , but a good range.
Pros: The owners are vey simpatic , the food is wonderfull , the hotel is in a very beautifull place and very clean and confortable.
Pros: Nothing more than praise for the managers of this hotel. This family business is doing everything it can to make the guests happy. We really enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. A delicious meal has been prepared for us and we enjoyed a very pleasant evening on the terrace. Wonderful beds and the room was fully equipped. Thanks!!!
Pros: It was a really relaxed place to stay. The host did everything to feel is comfortable and the dinner in the evening was great. It was never a problem to open the kitchen for us. We spent quite some time in the communal area which was good and comfortable. It is a very client focused hotel. The area itself was great nature and the temperature was very pleasant (mountains!).
Pros: Clean, quiet and scenic
Cons: Not easy to find, some tricky road if you plan to spend time in the city.
Pros: The absolute perfect farm stay in Italy. Catered to hand and foot. Home prepared meals available, and delicious. Horses and goat on property. Fabulous flower-filled walks, etc., etc.
Cons: All great.
Pros: The owner and host, Biagio Caruso, is an amazing man. He is warm and welcoming and willing to go out of his way to accomodate his guests. He drove into the samll town near his farm at 9:30 at night in a rain/lightning storm to "guide" us to his place. The breakfasts were part of the overall cost, but we also decided to take our evening meals with him as well. Helaid out a feast three evenings in a row and catered them to our preferences. He also treated us to some traditioanl foods that other guests might not have appreciated because he took the time to get to know us personally.
Pros: Amazing location in the mountains. The host Biagio cooked a fantastic evening meal and lit a fire just for the two of us. We walked round his farm the following morning and it is very, very special. Astonishing value for money. We feel very lucky to have stayed here.
Pros: In a lovely rural area of Calabria we needed a place to stay after a wedding. We found this peaceful place in the mountains. Rooms well equipped, friendly and helpful owner.
Cons: everything was perfect thanks to Biagio.

Pros: Very good breakfast, and very friendly staff
Cons: Would have liked an extra pillow
Pros: Wonderful relaxing break. Thank you.
Pros: Clean, good location, beakfast ok
Cons: The pool was broken
Pros: The hotel is located in a very nice and peaceful forest environment.
Cons: The room was quite cold upon arrival, because of a problem with the heating system. The problem was fixed later, however we still did not feel comfortable in the morning. This was very disappointing, just like the sound insulation of the room. The variety of the breakfast was also quite low compared to other similar places.
Pros: Beautiful location and hospitality. Food was excellent along with the service. It was a pity we were only there for one night.
With a stay at National Park Hotel & Spa in Cotronei, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Sila National Park and Ampollino Lake. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: hotel appears to have been fully renovated with high end finishing and function. Tastefully decorated and blends in with ski area and "mountain" feel. We are from western Canada and this hotel would compare to a higher end hotel in Banff National Park. Very good breakfast and we ate 2 dinners at the hotel and they were excellent quality and portion size.
Cons: It was a slow time of season (mid-September) and not too many facilities or restaurants were open. But it was quiet and we got to tour the lakes and country side without crowds.
Pros: 5 star service, excellent selection of vines in the restaurant. Many things to do around.
Pros: Location and quietness
Cons: The 20 Euro for the pool, to be honest they gave us discount
Set in the Calabrian countryside, this organic farm produces citrus fruit, olives and liquorice. It offers a summer outdoor pool, a restaurant and rustic-style accommodation. Santa Severina is a 5-minute drive away. Rooms and studios at Azienda Agrituristica Biologica Il Querceto have tiled floors and lovely views of the garden. Each room includes a private bathroom, while studios feature a fully equipped kitchenette. Some rooms include a balcony. Traditional local dishes are served at Il Querceto's restaurant. An Italian-style breakfast with cakes and cappuccino coffee is provided each morning. The estate is 30 km from Crotone and the Ionian Sea. The Sila National Park is a 30-minute drive away, and parking is free.
Pros: Location, view.
Cons: Facility and surrounding needs proper maintenance. It all looks a bid outdated and fallen apart. Increase the price and invest it... We were expecting to be offered more authentic products from the location and region. This would also create more income...
Pros: Lovely countryside setting within 3km of stunning Santa Severina hill town (castle, church, lovely houses and amazing views) with beautiful views of it from the bedroom and the hotel. Good sized swimming pool set slightly away from the hotel. Easy to find and to park. The hotel is small with a fantastic restaurant in which to experience personal attention and homemade quality Italian food cooked by a wonderful Lady. They even cater for coeliacs who need gluten free. We had lunch and dinner and then Breakfast was also very nice with fresh homemade ingredients and good coffee. Good value and recommend it.
Pros: The place is great, has the view of Santa Severina city. So nice to sit in a terrace and watch it. Owners are very friendly and even they dont speak very much in English but surely they try their best to get you all what you need. The food- you must choose to dine there- food is amazing! It is worth staying!
Cons: A little bit of mosquitoes... take some cream against it.
Pros: We stayed only one night - a stop in the middle of the long drive from Sicily to Puglia. We'll return for longer. The room was lovely, with a balcony that gave a vew of SantaSeverina. The place is really peaceful. We ate dinner and breakfast there and both were fabulous. Everyone there was very friendly and welcoming, as if you were a guest in their home - which you almost are in this case! Grazie a Anna per il buon mangiare e chiacchiere!
Cons: Only that we couldn't stay longer.
Pros: We loved this property. It's very close to Santa Severina town. And a beautiful view from the terrace, especially in the evenings. Plenty of parking space and the owners were very accommodating, as I have allergies to food and they were able to arrange a delicious authentic Italian dinner which was much appreciated. We would highly recommend this property when visiting surrounding areas. It's a very peaceful place to unwind.

Pros: The rooms where clean and comfortable. The views from the backside rooms where incredible. The restaurant was very good and very reasonably priced.
Pros: The staff were excellent, the room comfortable, however, TV difficult to understand how to operate. No internet operating even though staff tried to assist.
Pros: Location, dining room and food quality, accessibility, quiet.
Cons: Bathroom shower didn’t drain properly; couldn’t control room temperature; no light bulb in bedside lamp; door of drier cupboard had been torn or fallen off and unrepaired; in suite kitchenette under equipped.
Pros: Restaurant was good value. Nice portions, and tasty food. Rooms were nice size. Lovely breakfast buffet with many choices.
Cons: No working lamps by bed-never repaired. Dirty jacuzzi when water jets turned on. Hair in shower wand and no place to hang up the shower head-difficult to use
Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff, super nice breakfast included and great cafe and restaurant for buying lunch or dinner.
Cons: No complaints!
Pros: This is our third stay at the hotel. We love the large rooms and the restaurant is over the top. Don’t order pizza. Order seafood and other specialities. Very reasonable. We had a nice surprise on recent visit - our room 302 had a kitchen and a washing machine! The owner was working with the construction crew and went out of his way to talk to us, make sure we had everything we needed. He showed genuine interest in everything. Construction in the back is for a fountain and terrace service. If you like quiet book a room in the front of the hotel. We were very happy yet again.
Pros: Good location
Pros: The quality of the rooms are excellent and staff are very helpful.

Pros: We especially like the farm setting and beautiful beach which is an easy walk. The family and staff are very hospitable and helpful. Very best place to stay in Cropani Marina.
Pros: Beautiful place, great host, wildness around, amazing beach.
Pros: Quiet place in the middle of a huge farm. 5 min walk to the beach, empty and clean. 10 -15 min walk to the nearest village. 2km drive to a big supermarket. 30 min drive to get deep in a mountain forrest to see waterfalls (if you want to change a landscape a bit). Very friendly and helpful host Serafino, you can buy fresh garden vegetables of his own produce or a local wine from his very good collection. Serafino and members of his multinational family speak very good English.
Pros: Serafino was a great host. He introduced to the local scene. We had a short and pleasant stay.
Pros: The most beautiful "Robinsonbeach" just a short walk away. Nice very spacy flat.
Cons: The place need better maintenance.
When you stay at Azienda Agrituristica Le Puzelle in Santa Severina, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Carafa Castle. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The evening meals were simply fantastic. The staff are very friendly. The view from our bedroom of the nearby Milltown of Santa Severina were beautiful.
Pros: Everything you want to have while staying in magical landscape of mid- calabria, the housing and team are great hosts and in an easy manner make your stay smooth and home like. The kitchen of the house terms a unique quality and after a long day of exploring the magic of surrounding landscape it was joy to come "home" for dinner.
Pros: Great location, beautiful scenery.
Cons: Room and bedding were damp and had a musty odor. Lunch was ok but nothing exceptional.
Pros: Host and staff very friendly and helpful. Area around the location very nice and ideal for long early morning walks. Probably the best location to stay if visiting Santa Saverina.
Pros: The whole facility is wonderful. The management went out of their way to meet our needs. It was exceptional good value.
Cons: Pity the restaurant was closed for evening meals when we were there.
Pros: The food was wonderful and the view of the hilltop town of Santa Severiana from our room was magnificent
Pros: Great hosts that want to make you feel welcome. They tried to make our stays as good as possible even made custom dishes for my wife and son (they are lactose intolerant). The cook even opened up the restaurant earlier as we have small children that need to go to bed on time. The pool was nice and big and maintained properly
Cons: Personally the beds could have been better but is probably Italian standard for a bed. For me they where to hard. The bathroom was a bit small and there was not a lot of light in the room.
Pros: The rooms were wonderful, clean and well appointed. The staff were excellent: friendly, helpful and charming. We were the only ones staying at this wonderful place (it was winter) and the staff showed us how they made some of the beautiful homemade produce that we enjoyed for breakfast. The property had a wonderful view of the castle and was set among citrus orchards and olive groves
Cons: The wifi was a bit scratchy and inconsistent
Pros: All the people in the establishment were amazingly friendly and helpful. The chef of the house cooked us an unforgettable Calabrian dinner using beautiful local products. Thank you all for a beautiful mini-vacation!
Pros: The owner's son (not the groom) was apologetic and did try to satisfy us but it was evident our needs were not a priority on that day.
Cons: We arrived to find the owner's son's wedding in progress. The carpark was full, music was blaring and when we enquired about dinner we were told the cook was not prepared to open the kitchen. Under the circumstances I think we should have been advised the property was being dedicated to a wedding on the day of our stay and offered the chance to cancel. We were offered an antipasti platter as the only option for dinner which we accepted as it was our only choice. It appeared to be leftovers from the wedding reception and was not worth the price we got charged.
When you stay at Parco Hotel Granaro in Sorbo San Basile, you'll be 9 minutes by car from Antonio Garcea Visitor Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location is exceptional, and the owner Antonio is a true gentleman!
Pros: Situated in what feels like the middle of a forest. Beautiful location, trees all round nice and peaceful. Staff even offerred to park my motorcycle in a garage they had. Great stay and a lovely experience :)
Pros: The place was not in season, I think, and the staff minimal, but they did everything they could to make my stay perfect. The facilities are somewhat basic, as is the food selection, but perfectly adequate for a day or two. The setting is absolutely stunning. I drove up they're through many km of beautiful mountains, towns clinging to cliffs, and many forests and lakes. This is definitely a place I will visit often.
Cons: Not much variety in food and drink
Pros: Fresh air and surrounding area, friendly staff, good fresh food at the restaurant. Breakfast was OK, nothing special.
Cons: Wi-Fi didn't work at all.
