Good value for money.
Clean The cost of the breakfast was rather expensive in comparison to other hotels
Typical camponile hotel with friendly, welcoming staff
The food / evening meal The small bath
The hotel is conveniently positioned and unpretentious, clean and with adequate facilities, as well as secure parking. Pleasant staff. Restaurant offered plentiful food, well patronised by the locals. The reception/breakfast only opened at 8 so travellers on the move had to make alternative arrangements. No staff on premises overnight.
Good dining! Standard Campanille food but well done with a good buffett service and breakfast Campanille is a cross between camping chalet and motel!
Easy location from motorway
Friendly & helpful staff
The welcome was good and booking in swift and efficent. The hotel was easy to find and was just what we wanted for an overnight stop. Although the rooms were very small, they were well thought out. Only one bedside table.
Just think that compared to other hotels it is very expensive for very basic accommodation.
Food in restaurant okay 2 main complaints - room had a very strong stale odour that would not go (damp or urine). Bathroom was unclean and inadequate.
dirty, broken third bed in a family roon forcincung 3 to sleep in a double bed... even though we made the reservation 3 months earlier... uncompetant staff.
Value. Very difficult to find.
We stayed there en route to south of France, so did not really see the town. There was a nice restaurant close to the hotel which we used. It was very basic, but clean and the breakfast was good. No frills but a good place to stay the night on the way to the South.
Difficult to find, situated on an industrial estate out of the town. Soul- less. Were it not for the air-conditioning we would have checked out.
convenience for shopping and proximity to medieval town
Cheap, fine for overnight stay. Receptionist apologetic about hotel lack of signing. Breakfast ok Hotel has changed its name, we thought we had a booking at Hotel Marmotte. Took one & a half hours to find it because of change of name which booking process didn't tell us about. It is now Etap. Ground floor room not secure with open window. Asked to change to first floor - no problem.
Decent basic hotel for a stopover, clean, presentable but with no frills. Hard to find! If we hadn't come across a young man in town who knew the place (or if we hadn't understood French) I doubt if we'd have arrived before the reception closed.
Receptionist was really helpful and friendly free wifi free parking cheap buffet breakfast 4.50 euro p/p Couldnt leave window open for security reasons wifi wouldnt work in room had to goto reception
Not a lot. Had to ask for another towel as only one supplied for two people. Toiletries not renewed on second day. Lack of personnel able to communicate. No fruit juice and no explanation.
This Hotel has been re-named fro Marmotte to Etappe which resulted in us wasting a lot of time trying to locate it.if we had arrived after 10 pm we would have been in trouble as reception is then closed.
It is conveniently located to visit the medieval town of Laon without having to drive round the town's steep, narrow and confusing street system. It is also adjacent to the main road system for exploring the surroundong countryside - and to a large Carrefour. Lack of a restaurant, apart from breakfast facilities.
Cheap overnight stay with reasonable facilities. Quite a hike up-hill into the town, but then most of the hotels are outside the hilll village.
Bedroom was clean and nicer than I expected for the money. Overall I thought it was good value for money. Shower was very mouldy which apart from being unpleasant in itself, gave the bathroom an unpleasant smell. The hotel is situated next to a main road which was quite noisy through the night.
Very small and simple room, but practical and also very clean. Ideal for an overnight stop on a long journey. Not so easy to find because hidden by IBIS sign.( Hotel is right beside Ibis Hotel.) Not much comfort but very good bed. Old town Laon up on the hill is well worth a visit. Impressive gothic church. Walk in town about 30 minutes (steep hill). Would stay there again
Being in the middle of the town
Parking, close to Town Center No refreshment fascilities at the hotel ie had to go into town for light snacks meals etc
Parking Central location Need more english TV
Everything was great, the rooms were nice, clean, warm and cosy. The building is lovely. They even provide a little tea and coffeemaker, which is not standard in french Hotels. The price was good, the staff extremely helpfull. WIFI connection in every room. Breakfast was a bit basic, butter, jam, bread, croissants and joghurt, but everything was fresh so really nothing to complain about. The hotel car park is a bit awkward - hilly and narrow. But there's ample parking on the street in front of the hotel too.
The staff was very helpfull. We managed to get a room from 9am. Location is excellent, facing the beautiful Noyon cathedral/
They had a wonderful breakfast (with eggs), a very nice bathroom (although without a stand-up shower), and a set-up for making tea in the room - very unusual in Europe. It was not very soundproof at all - modern interior construction. But it was still a good place to stay and as I can tell, the best place in Noyon.
Cleanliness & ease of use
Well placed, good breakfast, quite good value for money. Very smokey in the reception area. Our room was outside !
It was a good room, spacious, a comfortable bed. Reasonably good breakfast too
Very nice ambiance, good location and good service
Good clean rooms Breakfast not up to standard of rest of hotel. Coffee reheated from night before
Excellent Buffet Breakfast Lack of Real No Smoking policy in rooms
convenient and comfortable, reasonable price. Good breakfast. no
It was ideally situated for our journey to the Alps. It was useful to be able to check in at midnight. We would have liked a kettle and drink making facilities in the room.
Very convenient location for travelling to South of France, very helpful and friendly staff. Non smoking hotel but our room was smoky.
Helpful staff, especially at reception, and quiet comfortable room. Also a good comprehensive breakfast.
Clean & Comfortable Hand held shower. I prefer a proper shower.
located reasonably close for exploring Laon although not close enough to walk to the centre.
beds tooo hard
We stayed just for one night as a stopover en-route to Bourgogne. The hotel worked well for us plus the rooms were comfortable and clean.
limited breakfast choice - no croissants!
We arrived at 3 am and received a warm and friendly welcome on a cold night after a tough journey Sound-proofing of rooms not very good
Gute Lage, preiswert, aber sehr kleine Zimmer, freundliches Personal, für den benöötigten Zweck optimal extrem kleine Zimmer
Cheap & cheerful Noisy arrivals late at night Room not conducive to tall people
It was inexpensive and the parking was very easy., The windows were very small and the room quite claustrophobic
lovely historical old town with fantastic cathedral
Fairly good but again soap nearly empty Again shoulb be 2 channels english for english travvelers not all french
We arrived very late at night and it was great that we were able to register and obtain our room key by using the outdoor automated machine. We were lucky that we had a room on the first floor. Instead of leaving this to chance, it would be helpful if one could give a floor preference beforehand. We're not so good with the stairs.
Bathroom was very small. Our shower did not have a spray/head attachment on so it was like having a "shower"beneath a huge tap.The second bathroom did have a proper shower attachment.
It was a great overnight stop and there was no mention of bunk beds in booking and my 2 year wasn't appropriate. The double bed room my parents stayed it was not 2 sheets just one sheet folded over ok you are cheap but is that correct do you think?
