8.8 Excellent
Pros: A well located and welcoming hotel. Our room was excellent with plenty of space and character. We especially liked the residents lounge on the first floor. The evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was a bit unexciting but OK, the breakfast room is a little cramped.
Cons: Our room could have been better prepared as there was left over snack food in one of the wardrobes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the second floor bedroom, which was beautiful. Spacious, comfy, luxurious, it was everything we wanted. Breakfast had a good range of choices and everything was plentiful. We were made to feel welcome throughout our stay. We ate in the restaurant one evening and on the coast in Belgium on the second night as it is so near.
Cons: English language satellite channels would have been nice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Our room was delightful. Our hostess described it as the wedding room. We were able to use a side room which had tea/coffee facilities with cakes and biscuits. Our room very comfortable and spacious. We were also able to partake of a complementary glass of port. Huge bathroom complete with a dressing table and robes. Breakfast was served in a lovely salon overlooking the garden. Fresh bread and croissants are excellent and also available fruit, boiled eggs, cereal and preserves. The hotel has its own restaurant.
Cons: Nothing to add. Shame we didn't have longer to look around the town ramparts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I’ve been staying at Bienvenue Chez Nous for many years and it never disappoints. Jean Pierre is an excellent host who puts a great deal of effort into maintaining the homely and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. It is always spotlessly clean and the rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. Quirky doesn’t even come close.
Cons: There is nothing whatsoever to dislike here. From the port and bath robes in the rooms to the first class breakfast everything is first class.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very friendly. I originally booked 2 double bedrooms, when we got there we had been moved to the small house which was just perfect. We were travelling with 4month old twins ,a 3yr old and 3 adults . The house was very well equipped with everything you would need . Location was perfect the town was lovely.
Cons: There was nothing not to like...only that we only had 1 night and longer would have been good.

Pros: Room was clean and modern with a nice contemporary feel and is in a great location.
Cons: A lot of street noise as the traffic light stop was just outside the window. Personally I don't like the non staffed concept, OK for some but I prefer the human touch

Pros: Excellent location in the middle of Dunkirk. The room was very clean and modern with a very good shower. Rooms seemed reasonably insulated from noise from other guests (apart from normal doors closing). It had a nice view over the marina. Bed was comfortable. Self service check in seemed to work.
Cons: There was no contact with any staff as reception/restaurant only opened in the morning and evening. If you lost your key, I am not sure what you wold have done.

Pros: Location The restraunt was closed when we stayed which is ok it was Easter Sunday it’s just that we werent made aware.
Cons: Breakfast was average
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The customer service was superb. Nothing was to much trouble. We were made to feel more like family. Bed was really comfortable and the little extras were a nice touch. We ate in the restaurant and the food was one of the best meals we had on our holiday. The staff were all happy and Sophie is a wonderful host. If we are staying in Dunkerque again we would definitely stay here.
Cons: It was unfortunate the weather was very hot which made the bedroom very muggy. Air conditioning would have been amazing.

Pros: The young lady who greeted us was very pleasant and understood English. She showed us the room, said we could use the kitchen and sitting room down stairs which had a TV and settee and told us where to eat as the onsite restaurant was closed on a Sunday. Comfy room, very quiet as in the countryside, lovely breakfast with lots of choice and very good value for money.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful especially when our train was massively delayed! Also after we told them we were leaving early in the morning and wouldn't need breakfast, when we changed our minds the table was laden with fab food and with a smile...!
Cons: It would have been useful to know there was a restaurant right next door for dinner the night before and the times it was open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for the port (we overestimated time to the port and managed to catch an earlier ferry), lovely and comfortable and Cindy was very welcoming. We had to telephone ahead as we were to arrive out of hours, our room key was left in our room with a lovely note on the blackboard and we also let Cindy know what time we wanted breakfast. Breakfast was very yummy and set us up for the last leg of our journey home. In all honesty we wish we had known about this place in our previous trips.
6.3 Good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners, very welcoming, nice dogs too!
7.0 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the floors immaculately clean.
Cons: Nobody around when we arrived, no signage or prior instructions how to get to room. Felt like intruders sneaking around trying to find our room, exhausted all downstairs rooms, climbed the extremely steep stairs to discover 4 unmarked doors, one of which was unlocked with key on floor behind door, no note so assumed it was our room. Very small, very clean. Bedsheet has creases indicative of previous occupants but with no one around ce lavie. No soap in shower, tried to use earthenware dispenser from sink but nowhere to store it. Only 1 working power socket down near floor next to door, ironic notice on door “best practice, remove laptop, mobile phone etc” when not a chance of plugging any of these in (kettle had priority) Only discovered WiFi password pinned to refrigerator in breakfast area by being nosey. Food at breakfast was very good however no choice and no prior notice of content which resulted in courses arriving as and when. Obviously a lot of people like this type of accommodation as we booked purely on the feedback - we will not be returning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, comfy beds, great countryside location only 40 minutes from Calais Eurotunnel. Perfect for night stopover
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant was very good. Hosts very helpful.

Pros: Clean room and bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Shower worked well. Breakfast and dinner were enjoyable. Free parking was located nearby. Close to a supermarket for last minute purchases. Staff were approachable and helpful.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding. Good surroundings, friendly staff and excellent food, well prepared and imaginatively presented.
Cons: Lack of air conditioning but this could not be expected in a 2-star property in an unprecedented heatwave. Would have appreciated a second chair
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were helpful with check in especially with parking our motorbike outside the hotel
Cons: The room was more basic than I'd expected and there were a couple of improvements that could be made to make it more comfortable e.g. there's only one bedside table, no mirror in the bedroom and the bath is slippery for a shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quiet area with masses of parking. Simple unpretentious rooms. Superb food in the restaurant and an excellent breakfast. The owner is charming, helpful and understands English for those of us who do not speak French.
Cons: No problems whatsoever.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing and they accommodated our late check in
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, not that we saw them much as we didn't eat in most of the time, preferring to explore. Easy parking over the road, and a large supermarket across the square if you needed anything. Good breakfast and evening meal.
Cons: We normally self cater and we forgot there is often not tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms :( It was warm ish when we were there, mid 20's, and there is no air con or fan so we needed to leave the window open and it is a busy straight road so quite noisy. There are two floors and no lift for those not as fit as they should be - we were on the 1st floor. Not a lot in the way of bars or restaurants in the area.

Pros: Well located and reasonable parking nearby. Dinner in restauarant was quiet and menu a little dissapointing
Cons: The Restaurant
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We got two single rooms (as requested). They were on the second floor of the nicely renovated building. Best to have rooms on the top, second floor (as we had) as the floor boards are croaking (old building)... also best not to have a room above the entrance as it slams shut with a bang that may awake you. The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is more than decent for 12,5€ pp. loved the quaint town of sint winoksbergen.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place in the building next to the hotel. We had our own entrance (room 29) opposite the church. Superb beds and nice and clean toilet (separate) and bathroom. Room has a good size and plenty of space for baggage.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the centre of the village, a handful of cafe's, bars, restaurants nearby. Nice bar on site. Friendly host.
Cons: Nothing, it was all good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb petit dejeuner, friendly atmosphere for a lone traveller with dog which I was able to take into the breakfast room which makes a huge difference... The situation of the hotel is charming as having now driven round Dunkirque It is not so pretty. This place has a fab baker, butcher (best duck rillette I've been able to buy in years) and seriously impressive cheese shop nearby if you want to stock up for your arrival at your destination. Dog not allowed in any of those! I couldn't check in until 11.30pm ish as the ferry arrived at 11pm and although there was no one on reception they sms'd me the entry code and my key was waiting for my room on the reception desk. It was a short drive from the port and I was able to park RIGHT OUTSIDE the door. They also made the most fabulously delicious sandwich for the onward drive to Hamburg... Merci beaucoup pour ca!. ;-)
Cons: I can't complain about anything. I got exactly what I needed. Thank you.
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fine, but choice was limited.
5.5 Okay
Pros: location is good - next to the city center but still quiet. and just 20 mins walk from the beach
Cons: 1. when we first entered our rooms it was really hot inside though outside it was rather cold for July (20C) and rainy. windows were shut and we thought that’s the reason. but after opening the windows it wasn’t much better. just late in the evening we found out that both fridges are extremely hot and work like a heating actually, especially one of them. turning them to minimum power helped, but I would like to turn them off completely it was impossible because of ice cubes inside - I didn’t want the ice to melt 2. we’ve booked 1 family room but in fact got 2 connecting rooms - 1 double and 1 twin. that was actually okay (2 bathrooms, you know). but it appeared that these rooms are different - different tvs, phones, fridges, showers, even sinks. that’s not bad definitely but that’s what I didn’t like 3. several broken things - hooks, drain plugs. very loud flushing in the toilet 4. furniture old and not very clean. just like the whole rooms 5. different mattresses - the double one was too soft as for me. also only double bed had a real blanket - both twin beds had only sheets with plaids 6. breakfast is bad - small buffet not tasty at all. only one hot dish - boiled eggs (and you have to cook them yourself, which is okay but not when there is nothings else you want to eat while waiting). coffee is awful. the only good thing - ability to make fresh orange juice 7. old and massive keys - like electronic cards but mechanic, with big keychains. one of the keys was half-broken overall it’s not a 4-star hotel. and not a 3-star also
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast self service restaurant was lovely
Cons: Bottle opener was located in bathroom better if it was in the drawer next to mini bar.
6.3 Good
Pros: No air con in the room in a four star hotel
Cons: Air con in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, welcome and room absolutely fine. Facilities were good and bed very comfortable. Bathroom and separate WC perfect. A lot of detail.
Cons: No A/C - only a tower fan. Nothing sufficient this hot night as window had to be left open all night for fresh air. Downside was the seagulls slightly before 4 a.m. therefore no sleep thereafter. No bar and no restaurant. I do not mind no restaurant, however sometimes a nightcap in the hotel bar is not a bad thing.

Pros: In the centre and not far away from the Ferry to Dover. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The toilet wasn’t clean. The curtains were not clean. The window frames were not clean.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was ok. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Car park was closed (with a sign on saying it was open!) Drove around Dunkirk trying to find somewhere to park for way too long. In the entrance to hotel there was a spillage and litter! Not a good first impression.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff spoke very good English! The room was ok, it was clean and nice and dark at night. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre.
Cons: The hotel was based right on a bus station with a lot of people always hanging around the entrance. And the machines for drinks were already known to be broken yet they did not put up a sign.. not sure why.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and place as well

Cons: Room extremely small. Bathroom needs a shower door
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and free gated carpark which was important for us. They had no problem with us arriving late. It was comfortable and great value for money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Basic accommodation (no coffe making facility in room) no frills but, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Disability facilities good, wet room and grab rails. We had our own shower stool and my severely disabled daughter managed the shower alone. Great breakfast with plenty of variety. Super friendly and helpful English speaking staff. Great location for an overnight stop en route back home to Amsterdam.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the 2nd time that we have stayed here. In both cases, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - all speak multiple languages, so communication is no problem. The bonus of staying here, is the black Labrador that belongs to one of the staff, he is just smashing and also very friendly and well behaved. Can only heartily recommend this place and we will certainly be stopping here more frequently in the future.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like, so this question doesn't apply to us.

7.0 Good
Pros: Good for traveling to UK, close to ferry
Cons: Not for romantic trip
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good, close to the ferry port and we could stay there with a dog. Parking on site.
Cons: When I was checking in I informed the staff member that I have to leave by 6:30 for the ferry. I was informed the breakfast is served from 6 o clock and I can check out and pay as well. No one was there at 6:30 and all lights were off. I was waiting there till 6:35 and left. Before I left I rang the reception number. I spoke with the member of the staff (clearly very sleepy) explaining the situation but no one came down to the reception. On the reservation confirmation from booking.com it was said "check out is available from 6:00 till 11:00". That is not correct information. I emailed the hotel to say I have to leave and asked for bank account details to pay by transfer. I got email back with request to give my card details in the email...Really? I obviously could not do this as this is valuable information so I emailed back to say I can do it over the phone or by bank transfer but I won't give them my card details in the email. I got no response. Few days later I received the email from booking.com saying " hotel policies were not respected. And that I left the property without paying " - really? I wanted to pay but no one was there. I informed the staff I need to leave early the night before and that very morning. What about customers rights to professional customer care and information? As for the property itself, it looked a bit tired. My daughter got locked in the toiled because the lock was broken. So just be careful and check everything. Not recommended.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: comfy beds and great staff
Cons: no carpets on floors
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff there was very helpful. The hotel is nice and very close to the ferry terminal.

Pros: Gideon's Bible in 4 languages. The location is handy for the motorway from Calais to Belgium and the Netherlands. Easy parking, WiFi & computer desk in the room. Comfortable beds. Shampoo & towels provided.
Cons: Restaurant not open for dinner on Saturdays, but there are plenty of options nearby e.g. Buffalo Grill, Crocodile etc. What looks like the main entrance was closed, but quickly found an open entrance at the side.

Cons: On one of the hottest days of the year, there was no air conditioning of even a fan

Pros: The service was excellent. Courteous, welcoming and cheerful.
Cons: The hotel had a feeling of a building site and the corridors were not clean. I suspect the high temperature was a factor with doors left open allowing dust to get in.

Cons: Garage was too tight, Hotel needs air conditioning
5.0 Okay
Pros: Handy location.
Cons: They could not find the booking.com reservation and said it didn't exist even though we had the confirmation number. After about 40 minutes of messing about we got our rooms, a bad start.

4.3 Okay
Pros: the breakfast was fine but little laid out, as simple as you could get away with. The location of the hotel is good
Cons: Perform proper maintenance and keep rooms clean.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The staff were pleasant. Sorry that’s it.
Cons: The room had a off smell and no A/C which made it really uncomfortable to sleep. The room linen was clean however that was it, the room and hotel was in great need of updating as I was touring Europe and with this one being the most expensive and the most dated uncomfortable one by a mile.
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast is ok
Cons: Very basic
7.0 Good
Pros: staff super friendly and helpfull
Cons: The building and rooms could use some refreshment. Bad smell in the room upon arrival.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a good central location. The room was a little dated but quite big and tidy and the bed was comfortable It was nice to see Tea and coffee making facilities available. The bathroom / shower was also clean and tidy. Breakfast was included and we liked the range of food on offer.
Cons: I was happy with the hotel and could not find anything to complain about
6.8 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Family of 5 and we thought the hotel was extremely hot. Outside temperature 16°. No shower just a hand held one over the bath.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful; the breakfast was good; it's excellent value for money.
Cons: We booked on the basis of the advertised 'secure parking'. Turns out that the secure parking area is tiny - you definitely need to book in advance - and is underneath the hotel and requires some nifty parking skills to get into the space. The Receptionist doubted that our car would fit but we managed eventually! There's not much headroom - be very careful if you have a top box - and if you have bikes on the back of your car (we did) then it's even tighter. Other than that, we thought the hotel was good for the price. Our bathroom was in need of a refurbishment (the door didn't shut properly for a start), but overall it was perfectly satisfactory for an overnight stay in order to see the beaches and the Dunkirk museum.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok. The lobby was bright and clean
Cons: Parking was horrible with a very small gate to get through. The rooms were very worn and old, with a deep need to be updated, and cleaned. Holes in walls, wallpaper peeling off, mold in bathroom. Our room didnt have Carpet and floor was stained and sticky, however our sons' room did have carpet. Poorly lit, and have to find the light switches in hotel halls and stairs to go through
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious comfortable room
Cons: Our twin room was given to someone else and there was no alternative...this was a girls roadtrip so we did not want to share a double bed. Carpark requested and confirmed but no space...however on street parking was available - but ideal when car full of expensive camping gear...

Cons: french breakfast
6.8 Good
Pros: Proximity to the beachfront
Cons: Very basic, no tv, shower broken, beds very hard, no air con, pigeons in about the roof making noise all day and night.
4.5 Okay
Cons: No shower head, only bread rolls for breakfast, one skinny pillow per person, surrounding area is looking in decline despite new buildings everywhere. The car park was full and they don't check your number plate, they have no idea if they are visitors' cars or locals'.
7.0 Good
Pros: Value for money.. good location..
Cons: It would be nice to have plates for breakfast.. and maybe fix sometingbabout the whistling from the cables of the boats in the next door
6.8 Good
Pros: Reasonably priced, 24 hour reception, night staff was helpful and attentive
Cons: Beds were hard and uncomfortable to our liking. Breakfast was (too) cheap and a dissapointment - only soft, white bread, flutes and croissants, wich were all quite dry and of poor quality. Only butter and jams - no cheese, no ham, no eggs, no...… we were not promised a huge gourmet buffet and the place is fairly priced - but this was simply a dissapointment - with so many guests it should be possible to serve with variety - we would have preferred to pay a bit extra for a breakfast of reasonable quality.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Over the road to the beach and it’s many restaurants

7.5 Good
Pros: Great location for connection south towards Lille and for the coast at Dunkirk. The room was a reasonable size, clean and the bed comfortable. The restaurant was good and the staff friendly.
Cons: Not a fan of the flooring used in the room, I don't like that type of plastic matting.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The grounds are lovely and the reception is nice. Staff were good, but could not help our issues.
Cons: Cleanliness and room facilities dated and not in good condition. Stains on carpets, curtains and bed spreads. We slept on the covers and left the next day, losing our 2nd night, which we paid for. The toilet smelled of damp and the fixtures we pulling away from the wall. Not a place to stay in for families. We would not recommend to anyone but backpackers and students.
7.5 Good
Pros: good location, comfortable & convenient transit accommodation
Cons: nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location of the hotel was out of Dunkerque (Outer city suberb) situated on a small lake, ideal for relaxing.
Cons: Bedrooms are basic and could do with updating to similar standard as lobby and bar.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Dining are facing the lake
Cons: Room too small, a bit dated and no lift, no aircon or electric fan. Receptionist not very helpful
5.5 Okay
Pros: I am gluten free so we did not have breakfast
Cons: Shower head needed cleaning out to be more efficient
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The reception/bar area very quirky. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly. Abundant parking available.
Cons: If you arrive after 9, there is no food available. Understandable that the restaurant needs to close but offering simple bar snacks would have been ideal especially if you have had a nightmare day of travelling.
