Pros: Our hostess was delightful and breakfast was very good.
Pros: We had a perfect stay. Very nice, well-maintained and clean rooms. Breakfast was excellent.
Pros: Great location, within easy walking distance of the main square and museum, close to a pleasant park and very quiet. Lovely breakfast, with some great cheeses. Top end furnishings. Attentive host.
Cons: No bulb in my bedside lamp and ventilation fan in bathroom didn't work. Little things - didn't bother me, but may niggle over time.
Pros: Great location, beautiful room and lovely to be able to use the garden. Breakfast was also very good
Pros: Lovely stop to visit Theipval and the WW1 sites. Fanny the host was extremely accommodating and the continental breakfast was superb!
Pros: Great location in town centre, v friendly host
Pros: Stayed for a couple of nights while visiting the Somme. Lovely host and the B&B is beautifully presented. It is understated but very comfortable and welcoming. It is also very well located for the centre of Albert and the surrounding areas.
Pros: What a superb location chez Louise is in the lovely village of Albert. Our room was lovely with very modern bathroom facilities. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. Lovely back courtyard looking over the park. We would recommend staying.

Pros: Perfect location for overnight stay and travelling on. Quiet area, easily found and close to main routes. Host emailed perfect directions to property and was there to meet us with the keys even though we were late arriving due to delays en-route.
Pros: Convenient to Albert and the local museums.
Pros: The location and the friendly welcome from the owner. The apartment was great and really comfortable and for the price I paid it was fantastic value. 10/15 minutes from Thiepval and Sunken Lane/ Hawthorn ridge make it the ideal location for looking around the Somme and beyond. Loved it.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like.
Cons: Location! Out of town and opposite the back of the airport. No view, windows mostly frosted glass: bedroom view - airport, living area view - neighbour's back garden. Booked as it had a 9.2 rating! We cannot understand how this could be the case.
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Ideally placed for visiting the local memorials.
Pros: We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
Pros: Very comfortable apartment with very helpful host who gave us a great deal of help when our car had a problem.
Pros: Good parking, Wonderfully furnished with added detail that makes such a difference. Spotlessly clean and unexpected surprises such as tea / coffee halogen cooker / WiFi/ satellite tv I loved the look and feel / bed was comfortable - would recommend and would love to come back. Host was friendly, helpful
Situated in the historical district, this guesthouse is 11 mi (17.8 km) from Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial and 11.8 mi (19.1 km) from Chateau de Barly. Ulster Memorial and Notre Dame Basilica are also within 16 mi (25 km).
Pros: Veronique is a wonderful host. What a beautiful, unique place to stop for a while to enjoy the peace and tranquility. They are doing a fabulous job restoring this grade 1 listed building to its former glory. Bravo! And the doggies - gorgeous!
Pros: Very friendly hosts, excelent home-cooked dinners, unique environment with interesting history.
Pros: Beautiful location, so much history. Breakfast at the table with the other guests guarantees nice conversations.
Cons: The bed was somewhat small and short for 2 people
Pros: Breakfast was superb. Hospitality was excellent. Owner took great care of us and gave us a lot of interesting information about the chateau and the region.
Cons: Entrance was a little difficult to find, but signage is likely controlled.
Pros: Not only a grand Chateau, this is also the home of the owner Veronique. For the same price as a featureless mid-range hotel, this congenial house is a a once-in-a-lifetime chance to soak up the history and atmosphere of the area. We had the two bed suite for four of us (two adults, two children) and their little minds were blown. It also a has a pool. I couldn’t think why you’d stay anywhere else.
Cons: Couldn’t criticise.
Pros: A fabulous authentic old chateau in an attractive part of the French countryside within close driving distance of Arras and other WW1 sites. Veronique, the owner, was outstanding in helping us when our rental car broke down and was able to negotiate a replacement for us.
With a stay at Hotel de la Basilique in Albert, you'll be just steps from Notre Dame Basilica and Somme 1916 Museum.
Pros: The decor location and comfortable bed.
Pros: The rooms were fantastic, food was brilliant and so was the staff We could not believe the price!first class
Cons: Nothing You could not fault the hotel or staff
Pros: Restaurant was good and breakfast and location
Cons: The rooms could do with little more soundproofing
Pros: Location in the middle of Albert is very convenient for cafes and bars. On street parking available and free.
Cons: Paper thin walls so you get disturbed by other guests with TVs etc. Very small rooms. Breakfast was an extra €10 and really not worth it at all. Coffee from the machine tasted very chemical and was unpalatable. Grubby carpets on the stairs leading to bedrooms. I know this is a Logis (which is basically a restaurant with rooms) but they could really try a bit harder. We did not eat there in the evenings as the breakfast was distinctly poor I did not want to run the risk of their evening fare. On check out, they badgered another member of my party (who was in the foyer about 5 mins before me) to pay even though it had all been booked in my name/card etc. Overall, expensive for what you get.
Pros: A gem of a hotel with cosy, comfortable rooms. The beds were great, bathrooms the perfect size. This is an ideal base for exploring the Somme battlefields, with all sites easily accessible by car. A tourist office next door will rent you a bike if you feel like exploring this beautiful part of France in the fresh air. The hotel also boasts a superb restaurant which we ate in every night; best to make a reservation if there are more than a couple of you. The breakfast selection is now much improved and worth the additionally 10 Euros per person, per day. Along with the usual (fresh) patisserie there are eggs, local cheeses and meats along with fresh fruits and yogurt. Finally, the making up of the rooms each day was great; as well as making the beds, the complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee and towels were changed daily. The only possible reason for this hotel being two star is the steep staircase and lack of disabled access to the rooms. If this is not an issue for you, this hotel feels like a good four star. We’ll be back!
Pros: The evening meals were excellent - both ingredients & presentation were of a very high standard. Staff & service complemented the whole experience admirably. Would not hesitate to return.
Cons: Not a lot ... upper floor probably not too suitable for ailing joints etc
Pros: Hotel was central and perfect for visiting the area or the basilica.
Cons: No bath available
Ibis Albert Hotel is located in the heart of the Somme, the land of the poppy. The hotel offers 57 aircon rooms, incl. 2 for people with reduced mobility, Wi-Fi offered. "La Flamm' Albertine" restaurant-bar, serves snacks 24/7, and a closed parking lot. Located near the sites of Boisselle, Thiepval or Beaumont Hamel, you can also discover the "Circuit of Remembrance" and the "Somme 1916" museum.
Pros: Everything was fine for the purpose of our visit - Somme battlefield - a good early breakfast and a comfortable bed
Cons: Very small point. I prefer a bar of soap to soap in a bottle, especially for a shower
Pros: friendly staff and pleasant surroundings and a great location to visit the somme
Pros: The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and always made time to help. Clean rooms and good food. The self service breakfast was very adequate; the evening meal was was very tasty. The service was excellent.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a kettle in the room, though there was a free coffee machine in the reception area.
Pros: Good value for money
Cons: No fridge in room
Pros: I had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were lovely, especially the young lady that was taking our orders. I can't remember her name but it was omething like Madalane.
Cons: It was all good.
Pros: Superb Breakfasts with plenty of choice, good quality, and all you wanted to eat. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Cons: Nothing, everything was superb.
Pros: I liked the whole experience. I had stayed before and I knew what to expect. The staff were excellent. The hotel is well placed. The facilities are very good. The food (and drinks) were very good. It did not spoil our time there but there was a minor incident in the Bar/restaurant when a group of Irish (gypsies?) were loud and intimidating. The police were in attendance and I think it involved something that had happened elsewhere - not the hotel staff's fault. Even when they had all gone, one man was still shouting across the room to us and singing Irish rebel songs. he said he was just having fun but everyone in the hotel bar had gone by then. If there were only a couple of other people there it might have been dangerous.
Cons: Nothing really but see above. I do not know what the security arrangements are but it seemed that 2 young ladies were on their own for some time before a man appeared. It may be that I was not aware of other things but it might be worth checking security arrangements. Maybe the rooms were too hot at night and turning the thermometer down did not seem to make any difference.
Pros: Friendly staff convenient locations
Cons: No in room tea making
Pros: Great hotel, good food, lovely clean room and friendly, helpful staff.
Pros: The staff were brilliant.
Cons: Not as close to the town as I would have liked. But we can't have everything.
With a stay at Hotel Royal Picardie in Albert, you'll be 6.1 mi (9.7 km) from Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial and 14.9 mi (24 km) from Franco-Australian Museum. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Close to gas station and supermarkets.
Cons: Booked it because it had said both English and French spoken. English was, but not until the morning after we checked in. I had driven from ypres to there and was very tired. The guy at the dest spoke no English and couldn't answer a single question. The best he could do was give me an English worded checklist of check-in procedures.
Pros: It had a car park
Cons: Booked because it had a restaurant. But was closed. Town too far to walk and not much choice of places to eat. No taxis available.
Pros: Bedrooms have recently been refurbished to a good standard. Good location for touring the battlefields of the Somme
Pros: Nice clean quiet hotel. The location was great for us with the itinerary we had planned out.
Cons: The temperature in the room was very uncomfortable for us. We tried to adjust the temperature as it said we could but nothing happened. No air circulation. Yes, we could have opened the window since the temp outside was nice but with no screens, we decided to do with out bugs.
Pros: Nothing really. Pretty basic
Cons: Restaurant closed. No warning till be arrived. Was under the impression we’d booked bed and breakfast only to be informed breakfast was an additional €12. If establishment says its b&b surly the breakfast should be included?!
Pros: The friendly staff and delicious food.
Cons: Dining room felt a bit soulless
Pros: Ample parking Aurelian was outstanding in every aspect, including above and beyond the call of duty in arranging emergency car repairs at 6pm on a Saturday evening.
Cons: Bathroom could have been slightly cleaner. One television didn’t work.
With a stay at Le Clos de Vitermont, you'll be centrally located in Englebelmer, within a 10-minute drive of Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial and Ulster Memorial. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, coffee/tea in a common area, and microwave in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Located in Mailly-Maillet, La ferme des p'tits loups is a 3-minute drive from Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial and 6 minutes from Ulster Memorial. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good situation. Kind and friendly landlady.
Cons: The steps leading up to our floor were rather steep. Also we had requested a gluten-free breakfast but there was no GF bread available and we had to use our own. Seeing this is now available at large supermarkets like Leclerc, it's disappointing that the farm could not find any.
Pros: The staffs was very friendly and considerate (they can speak both French and English). We have booked Superior Double Room for three people and we got private bathroom, living room with TV, kitchen & two rooms (1 single bed and 1 double bed). The room was clean and perfect, it definitely gave off homey feeling. For those who needs WiFi doesn't need to worry about it at all. They do have perfect WiFi connections even though I didn't use it there were full internet bars and don't forget to ask for the password since it's not provided in your room nor instructions of how to get it. The breakfast is very simple; 3 different kinds of jams, butter, eggs which you can bake them on this pan and french bread. They do also have coffee and tea for you to choose. Everything is self service and at the dinning hall are two long tables which you just have to take your own seats. The locations are very ideal for those who are looking for somewhere quite and wants to bicycle around (especially you want to visit the military graveyards of WOII and WOI. I definitely recommend visit Amines (known for Jeanne D'arc).
Cons: There was nothing I don't like about. The value of price and rooms were great! The only remarks will be that one of their sink's water pipe (in the kitchen) works but it's very loose that it came out. But that was no problem since it can be easily fixed and we didn't had any problem with it but I wanted to leave it as remarks since some people will definitely complain about it. The only I didn't like about was the fellow group guests who was being rude to the owners of the B&B (there was obvious signs of "no entry" but they just went inside without any hesitations. Those group of people even decided on when the breakfast is finished without asking other guests if they are done with their breakfast so they can turn off the heater of the pan. Of course, once in a while you will eventually meet rude customers who don't think about others.
Pros: Excellent location for WWI battlefields.
Pros: The staff were lovely and very friendly. The room was well appointed and had everything for my night's stay. A very good breakfast was provided. I was even able to buy a few bottles of cold beer for the evening!
Cons: It's a bit odd to pay cash at the venue but not really a problem. Good value for my stay.
Pros: Really sweet personal and a very nice place to stay for a couple of nights.
Cons: The beds could have been better, but it was not the biggest of problems
Pros: Geographical-fine. Cheap but at 50eu per night more choice at breakfast should be possible
Cons: Breakfast was very poor, no staff visible. Luke warm coffee, no cereal. no toast, no cheese, watery Orange juice. Only:- small fruit yoghurt, French bread sliced. Jam / marmalade but no butter. No sign of any staff. Fire bell clanging for at least 10 mins mid afternoon. Mold in shower. Bedding and pillows worn out. Sharing pot of coffee with everyone.
With a stay at Hotel de la paix in Albert, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Notre Dame Basilica and Somme 1916 Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hotel is simple, clean, staff were fine, the room was quiet, the restaurant was excellent, parking nearby. I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
Cons: No negatives come to mind.
Pros: Not a lot. We went here for old times sake as we had had a great visit years ago. At that time the rooms were a little odd but clean but the meal in the restaurant was fabulous. This time it was dreadful, a tough steak and shell pieces in the Moules.
Cons: The rooms were not clean they smelt of boiled cabbage. The breakfast was well below average. A real disappointment.
Pros: location of hotel; easiy to book online; quietness of area at bedtime
Cons: breakfast: lack of variety of food: no cheese, little meat; no staff present; too much sugary bread/cakes; coffee quality poor.
Pros: Room ok
Cons: The manager was unpleasant. Dinner was revolting.
Pros: breakfast ok. room clean.
Cons: room not similar to representation on web, too small, no chairs or bedsiode tables, one small wardrobe. Staff - manager surley and rude, despite having a totally british clientele ( we never saw any other nationals in the hotel) there were signs up everywhere saying that the staff did not speak english. Albert itself is a bit of a dump, poor facilities and generally a mess,
Pros: That I could bring my dog :) Breakfast was good as well
Pros: Perfect location for access to the town (restaurants and bars)... although parking is limited to the street outside.
Pros: Central location in Albert was useful.
Cons: Room furniture and en-suite was below average. No fresh food at breakfast. Loud traffic outside window. Parking provision on street.
Cons: Toilet broke twice and there was no one to fix it on the sunday.
Located in Mailly-Maillet, La Briqueterie offers an outdoor, seasonal swimming pool and a garden. Both Arras and Amiens are a 35-minute drive from the property. All rooms are decorated in an individual style and feature a wardrobe. Guests also have access to a shared bathroom and toilet. A breakfast is provided each morning at La Briqueterie. Guests can also enjoy a homemade meal, prepared by the hosts, upon request and at an extra charge. Additional features include a library, free Wi-Fi access throughout and free private parking on site. Naours Cave is a 35-minute drive away and the A1 motorway is located 20 km from the property.
Pros: Good place for a one night stop while we as a family were travelling to Paris. Clean room for 4 people. Shared bathroom is not our thing. There were no towels. We had a fine breakfast. The owner was nice and supportive and spoke English. And overal it is cheap!
Pros: We haven't tasted this good coffee since I left home! :) The kids got an extra treat for breakfast. Nutella. Good price for a nights sleepover.
Cons: It's confusing when you arrive, and there is no sign telling you that this is La Briqueterie. It looked more like a private farm, than a B&B. Noise, music and talking travelled through the rooms with great ease. Making it hard for our children to fall asleep. And "stressing" us parentes the next morning because of our childrens loud voices :)
Pros: Ideal for one night.
Cons: No evening food.
Pros: Location was perfect for transfer. Parking available without any problem. Very good and tasty breakfast.
Cons: Common bathroom. Quite tide, but not perfect.
Pros: We love baguettes and butter with our coffee, and the orange juice was an extra treat. Our places were set at the table, and our coffee appeared the moment we sat down. Everything was fresh, tasty, and nourishing - we felt ready for a day walking around the WWI battle-fields.
Cons: It's hard to say, really. If you don't like farms you should probably find somewhere else to stay, but we loved the agricultural region with its hectares upon hectares of potatoes, barley and colza. A cattle operation has its own distinctive atmosphere, which some might find oppressive, but for us it was just one more note in a pastoral symphony! Delightful.
Pros: This place is the best bang for your buck when touring the Somme... I have stayed here before, and will stay here again...
Cons: No complaints...
Pros: The accommodation is extremely central for what we were looking for
Cons: The accommodation needs some TLC. The beds weren't that comfy and felt that the rooms and the shared bathroom facilities were needing a good clean. I was advised on my confirmation I only had £56 to pay however had to pay the full £125. This should have been advised by booking.com before I travelled.
Pros: Great value and excellent location. We tour the battlefields, and this was a nice, cosy, comfortable, neat little place, with everything we needed. Highly recommended, will stay here again. Thank you.
Cons: I don’t really know...I guess maybe we could have had eggs and bacon for breakfast...lol...
