Have stopped at Logis Hotel Teyssier several times on journeys through France. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. I have dietary problems and chef very helpful and produces excellent meal - problems always discussed before service so he has time to prepare. Rooms well appointed and furnished but it must be remembered it is a very old building. Each visit some area of hotel has been very tastefully refurbished.
It was quieter than we'd expected from reviews with a good view over the river. Breakfast was good.
Location and easy to find The booking.com website stated that there would be adjoning rooms for family rooms. This was not the case, instead two doubel beds were fiteed into a medium size room. We felt mislead.
We ate dinner there and it was very good.
The food was excellent - better than we expected looking at the menu! The bed was rather hard! The television was positioned too high up to watch comfortably.
Convenience and price
Relaxed atmosphere; convenient for visitors wishing to explore the countryside of Limousin.I liked the fact we were not in a traditional "hotel bedroom", but that we had our own self-contained "cabin" in the hotel grounds; although this aspect may not appeal to everybody. Easy car parking. Good lunch and dinner facilities Swimming pool - not inviting - littered with flies; generally not looked after.Unfortunate because the weather was hot and a swim would have been refreshing. Tea or coffee making facilities in the cabin would have been helpful; not everybody wants to participate in a formal breakfast.
value for money due to the locations of the bedroom, no internet, you have to go in the hotel
rested and visited the city
Pleasant and modern environment with a good breakfast. Exceptionally good restaurant for the evening meal.
Beautiful location, easy to find from Limoges and good food in restaurant. Comfortable rooms. breakfast a little expensive for what was on offer, although pleasant enough
We liked the view of the lake from the bedroom window. The manager was reasonably affable but untidy and unbusinesslike in appearance. We could not get a drink of any description at 5:30pm when we arrived. The breakfast was adequate, but very basic, which reflects the whole aspect of the hotel.
A clean, efficient, modern hotel with friendly and helpful staff (although they only speak French, which you can't fault because it is in France!). It's close to the main road south, so a convenient stop-off place if heading to the Dordogne etc. It has lovely views of the town's lake whihc is right out of the windown... A very peaceful spot, great for a walk or a jog. It has a great little deck/terrace for dinner, really lovely views but as it's north-facing, it's shaded in the mornings so best for lunch/dinner. We thought we had pre-paid this hotel room when we booked on-line. But we were charged the full amount when we got there. It was explained to us that our on-line booking was in fact a reservation and that we had not been charged. I will have to check my bank statements to confirm this but it seems a bit strange taking credit card details when we booked on-line, only to have to pay the full amount when we arrived. If I have failed to read the small print and this siutqation is obvious, then I apologise, but it was a surprise to me. The breakfast was a little bit expensive. It was nice, but at 9 Euros per person it was a little over-priced for what was a light snack.
The staff were very helpful. The grounds are nice. The food average. As with all french hotels the breakfast was expensive for coffee and a croissant with some cold meats. When the shower failed to work the staff sorted it quickly. The rooms are big enough for a travel cot and nicely appointed. Is It was often hard to find the staff as there is no way of calling then.
Room was comfortable (Lack of atmosphere) in the dining room. Food
Very nice clean hotel. Ideal for an overnight stay when travelling. No bar or coffee facilities after 2200.
