A little gift of excellent home made blueberry jam as leaving. If you are visiting the beautiful Tronçais forest, this is the best place to stay.If I could give it 11 out of 10 I would. Tres, tres bon.

Cons: Maybe not enough choice re. French breakfast, but it did not matter

Pros: Handy for motorway and overnight stop on journey through France. Rooms comfortable, clean and have all you need Breakfast choice very good and although a relatively small menu for dinner, it is very good, as is the service
Cons: Nothing to dislike- better sound proofing between rooms would be good and a non-slip mat for shower which was quite slippery and a bit daunting as you have to step up into it
Pros: The nearby lake where you could walk. The staff were very helpful and obliging. The restaurant is really good.
Pros: The lakeside setting was an unexpected bonus, because it enabled us to have a pleasant walk to stretch our legs and get some fresh air after a day stuck in the car. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. However, I am glad that it faced on to the lake, because the alternative would have been facing on to the road, which could have been noisy. Guests should make sure that they get an even-numbered room!
Cons: The receptionist on our arrival seemed a little offhand, though efficient (chewing gum when talking to customers is not an endearing trait). By contrast, the receptionist the next day could not have been more obliging and friendly. The restaurant menu was quite limited in its choices, though the food was superb. This was yet another hotel where I had to mend something - this time it was a loose loo seat!
Pros: Beautiful situation on a lovely lake and with a super pool, tennis court and ping pong table. Quality of the food at dinner was excellent
Cons: Room was a bit small but perfectly adequate.
Pros: Location - both in respect of our route and surroundings Able to provide facilities we needed Attractive restaurant
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like, but dinner choice limited and wine quite expensive
Pros: Pool, bar, parking, room, staff
Pros: Very pleasant staff Excellent restaurant Lovely location overlooking a lake
Pros: Nice clean rooms. Nice by lake easy to walk with dogs.
Cons: Quite expensive restaurant and only at booked time available

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).

With a stay at Hôtel Le Saint Amand, you'll be centrally located in Saint-Amand-Montrond, within a 10-minute drive of Abbaye de Noirlac and Château de Meillant. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Cons: Bed had a plastic mattress topper which reflected heat and made me sweat, no plug in the on-suite sink, had to plug with toilet paper to have a shave. Breakfast was limited and not good value for €9.00
Pros: Easy to find. Ample parking.
Cons: The property should not be open in January/February. Nobody staying apart from us. Dining room was available but there was only one item available to eat.
Pros: The Madame, initially would not let me in: I had to rig the bell as the main door was locked. Luckily, with some persuasion, I was able to explain we had a reservation. After that she tried hard to help me understand everything as best she could as she not speak English. The best part was that we could bring our dogs for a minimal fee of €10 and they were allowed in the room. It looked like the rooms and the communal space had been recently renovated. It was very quiet and the town looked nice. Fine if you are in need of a place to stay to break up a long journey like we did.
Cons: The breakfast was not worth €9 each and you could easily get a nice breakfast in the town. We could have saved €18 in hindsight.
Pros: NOTHING WHATSOEVER !
Cons: BEWARE - ! THE PICTURES ON THIS HOTELS PAGE ARE VERY DECEIVING THE BED IS SMALL AND UNCOMFORTABLE - THE SHOWER IS A SHOWER ATTACHMENT OVER A BATH - THE 'VIEW' IS OF A PAVED COURTYARD WITH TWO CHAIRS AND A BBQ IN IT - THE WOMAN WHO WAS THE ONLY MEMBER OF STAFF THERE HAS THE FLATULENCE THAT HAS TO BE HEARD TO BE BELIEVED !! AND WAS EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL WIFI DIDN'T WORK UNTIL I WAS SHOWN INTO THE CUPBOARD TO FIX THE ROUTER !! AND THEN IT DIDN'T WORK IN THE ROOM I HAVE TAKEN ALL THIS UP WITH BOOKING.COM AS I FEEL OUT OF THE 18 HOTELS I BOOKED FOR THIS TRIP, THIS WAS THE WORST AND FEEL IT WAS A CON OF A PAGE THAT ATTRACTED ME TO BOOKING IT HAD I NOT PAID IN ADVANCE - I WOULDN'T HAVE - HAD I HAD AN OPTION, I WOULDN'T HAVE STAYED
Pros: Breakfast was really good value. 9 euros for a typical French buffet breakfast. As much coffee and juice as you would like plus usual cereals, breads and croissants, cheese, yogurt fresh fruit. Location of hotel is perfect. Just a couple of minutes walk to the centre of town. Parking is free on all streets surrounding the hotel. Hotel de charme!!!
Cons: The wifi doesn’t work and the staff did not have the IT knowledge to understand. Being without wifi, even though advertised, was very inconvenient
