I was clean, modern, comfortable with a nice pool, excellent showers and very quiet, within easy reach of lorient airport for air travellers. It was expensive, 140 euro for a double room, not in high season and breakfast not included (this was 20 euro extra, per person for continental breakfast!)
The rooms were excellent. The breakfast as well, but very pricy.
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff were welcoming and ever-helpful. The design is modern and attractive with the theme carrried through consistently to every last detail. The pool. sauna and steam rooms were excellent. The TV in our room was better than any other hotel I have stayed in recently. I also liked the free Internet access. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and woukd use this hote again. I think the mainconcern that guests may have is with the cost of breakfast which was 18 euros per person. There was plenty of choice and the quality was good. I can only observe that the cost was typical for the locality and was not the most expensive. However, I would have liked a lower cost.
Nice small modern hotel. Great pool-area and SPA. Very close to Beach. Nice rooms. Good free safe garage in hotel. Some problem to communicate in English. A little too far from other restaurants/cafes and village-center.
The staff welcomed us and helped us with anything we wished. The hotel was so ideal we stayed a second night.
the location, staff courtesy, facilities rooms too cramprd for comfort; inadequate storage space for 4+days stay
A modern, well designed hotel, beautifully appointed with family friendly management but somehow 'lacked a soul'. The expensive breakfast and lack of a central bar possibly contributed to this.
Functional and minimalist Very poor reception on arrival No attempt whatever to make welcome or offer drinks or somewhere to wait until our room was ready. Thereafter service was satisfactory
The people were absolutely very friendly The room was so small that we could not stay there for 7 days, which we booked so we left the next day. A lot of money for a very small room .The balcony too and there was wood in front so you could not see through it. Awful. It also was a long way from the center and there was not a restaurant, cafe, bar or terrace in the neighbourhood.
nice hotel. jacuzzi breakfast not included and expensive
the swimming pool was very good
Kids loved the pool and the breakfast buffet. The staff were excellent and very helpful, and the hotel was in close proximity to both the beach and restaurants/shopping.
Staff at reception, walking distance to main area and beach, easy parking, good shower and comfortable bed No hand towels, asked a number of times but only received them two of the five nights
staff were very friendly and the pool was excellent. great location. the room was very small with a loft bedroom with very steep stairs
The indoor swimming pool for us was a major plus point for the hotel and very helpful reception staff. The cost of the resturant was expensive.
the very friendly staff, the location in Britanny
Location and the hotel facilities were both excellent. Although perfectly adequate for 2 nights, the room was rather small. This may be because I requested a double bed instead of 2 x singles. However, in my experiecnce, it is not unusual to be given the smaller/noisier/older/shabbier rooms when paying a discounted price through an agency rather than booking direct with the hotel & paying the rack rate.
staff very gentle and ready to help, room confortable and quiet, good location parking space limited
We liked the location beside the Lagoon, very close to the beach and the town. Great coastal walking nearby. Thalassa facilities very relaxing.Generally a very pleasant place to stay.
Location close to beach and an easy walk into the town of Carnac
Nice location. Good breakfast. Everything seemed well organised with the room well cleaned. I would recommend this hotel. It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room.
We chose the Hotel because of its location, but on reflection there were other Hotels with a much better outlook. The Hotel room was small with a view over the car park, and had no air conditioning, and in my experience it can get very warm in Carnac.
The location of the Hotel, 2 minutes walk from the beach. The use of the spa. the view from the room over the salt marsh. We ate in the restaurant, the food was very, very average and the wine list overpriced. There are plenty of restaurants in the town, I would recommend you try one of these.
lovely clean and friendly place parking for motorbikes 15 min walk along river to port and bars loved the place
child friendliness of the hotel as we had two children under 3 years of age no
Quiet location & easy access Time switch on corridor lights could have been more generous
Our room at the back of the hotel looked out onto the grounds so it was quiet. There was plenty of space and it was very clean. It is away from the crowds but not too far from the beach and we liked Auray and especially the port.
Staff we felt were exceptional, very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Heaters weren't working. Would of appreciated tea making facilities
Staff were helpful, room and bathroom were clean, breakfast was quite good - good selection, and there was an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Good car parking facility. The hotel - and therefore all public facilities - closed at 9.0 p.m - e.g. no bar open after that time. The room was a bit smaller than we had expected, but the bathroom was a reasonable size. It was a bit more of a walk to the restaurants than we had expected.
Our double room was comfortable and quiet and the bed had a good mattress, the staff was friendly; good breakfast buffet, calm environment, good location for trips by car to Côte Sauvage, Carnac, Vannes, etc.
Very friendly and helpful.
Very helpful, pleasant staff. It was clean and comfortable Breakfast very poor value, with lack of choice, compared with others we have had for the same price in similar hotels in France.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice and clean rooms. Nice walk to st.Goustan (ca 12 min.) I really liked the place.
The best thing is its location and the details the customer can find inside the room. It is a very clean hotel. The breakfast was expensive (15 euros) in relation to the amount of things that the traveller can choose.
This a stylish boutique type small hotel with intersrtingly designed rooms around a pleasant coutyard garden and small pool. There was a very nice bar in the reception area, but as it was the barman's day off it was not open, which was disappointing.
First impression was wow - so very different and very tastefully decorated. It was quaint and very artistically furnished and decorated. The garden was delightful. The photograph did not do it justice. Quaint and small there was not a great deal of room. Would not have liked to have stayed there any great length of time as little room for unpacking clothes etc.
Very welcoming, lots of character, lovely staff and rooms Full cost was not specified during booking and we had to pay an additional charge on checkout (however the staff were careful to identify this when we arrived). Listed as family friendly but not really suitable for very young children (ours are 4, 3 and 1). Breakfast does not live up to the very high standard of the rest of the hotel.
The hours of opening of the bar.
Nice furniture. Very nice place and very confortable. Very good breakfast.
Leaving! We had booked a triple room as we were travelling with our daughter. Unfortunately we were given two rooms on different floors ! We showed our booking form which clearly stated a triple room but were informed that there wasn't one available. This impacted on our stay in such a fundamental way that we did not use any of the hotel's facilities - in particular we didn't eat in the restaurant, The staff member with which we dealt with was very dismissive of our complaint and could only just about manage a very inadequate apology.
Location, comfort, and service were all excellent High cost of continental breakfast
Good location - right on the beach Food good especially the breakfast Too expensive for a 4 star hotel that looked a bit "tired"
We loved the beautiful view from our Room 102 of the wonderul beach. Also the ability to park our car in the hotel grounds. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as we considered 21.50 euros per person to be far too expensive. Also we did not lke the " smoked " glass in the bathroom mirror or in the long mirror in the entrance to the room. My wife could not see to do her face or hair for 3 days !!
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location. Room decor was a little tired but, did not detract from an enjoyable stay. Alcohol and breakfast prices were too high.
Location was excellent Bedroom could do with an update
location breakfast was good but a little overpriced for a buffet
proximity to carnac beach.easy on site parking. tea/coffee making facilities no available.
Everything about this hotel was excellent, from staff to facilities to ambiance. The moment we walked in the door the staff were so attentive. Excellent experience. We will definitely be back.
Good service, good food, excellent selection of wine.
Very clean, well appointed room. Very attentive staff. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Free on-site parking. Good beach location.
This is a nice modern hotel overlooking the harbour at La Trinite. Our room was a good size with a well appointed bathroom. It also had good double glazing which meant it was quiet at night-time even though the hotel is on the main road into La Trinite. We had a evening meal in the restaurant with some friends from the UK - very good food reasonably priced and the service was brilliant. (Our friends told us that the locals often eat there) We did not visit the actual Casino so cannot comment on this but we were not hassled to do so and it was not intrusive. This is not a complaint just a comment - the breakfast 12 euros is pricey.
Excellent cuisine beautifully presented Public rooms tastefully designed and bedrooms clean and comfortable Breakfast a little expensive (9.5€) and being closed for dinner on a Sunday was a (minor) inconvenience
A beautiful location, good food and welcoming proprietors. We booked for four nights and stayed for seven.
We like small quiet hotels and the Alicia is exactly that. The rooms whilst smallish are perfectly comfortable hotel kept very clean by unobtrusive staff. The food was excellent but it would be better if the menu for the evening was displayed together with the cost at reception in the morning. we certainly would have eaten there more often had we realised how reasonable theemeals were. The view from our balcony was stunning (rooom 5). There are complaints on the web about the alicia hotel but it is a good 2 star hotel with 4star food and 5 star location.
we found the hotel to be a very well appointed, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Our meal there was delicious.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. I arrived late and they were waiting for me and got me right up to my room with ease. The room was very pretty and clean and breakfast was very good.
Its location and style - not up to normal Ibis standard
The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. It restored my faith in Ibis hotels which took a battering
The staff. Breakfast was good. Restaurant closed all weekend.
Everything - Hosts real lovely people and very helpful - recommended
The room was nice og the balcony spacious. There was no hairdryer and no shower curtain. The latter resulted in the whole bathroom getting very wet after each shower - which is not very pleasant. The exterior pool whish was presentet on the web when we booked, was not yet finished (3 month later).
It was in a quiet location which was central to the Quiberon peninsula and Carnac The breakfast was a bit basic for the price
Friendliness of the staff, swimming pool, terrasse Anything you need, you need to ask for it (hair dryer, shower gel as examples)
Friendly staff and clean Very rudimentary accomdation and not enough variety for breakfast
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Bathroom needs some improvement.
Very close to surrounding beaches and attractions. Excellent service, very friendly staff. Also, a nice breakfast, at a reasonable rate. Rooms were adequate in size, clean, and price was great. Internet was not working in the room - staff was very receptive and we used the hotel computer for accessing email.
Our stay was excellent, and the owners were very helpful and kind.
friendly attentive staff, very good resturant, easy to find. no it was a very enjoyablr experience
Very special atmosphere. It felt very cosy from the very moment we entered the hotel. I would give it the forth star for the cosiness and originality.
Quietly situated less than 3 miles from some excellent beaches
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff yet unobtrusive, what more could you ask of them. The hotel is stylish and has a very relaxing atmosphere. A perfect break for us. We will try to go back
Very welcoming and efficient staff. Good rooms. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant surroundings. Attractive location.
The one night stay was not long enough and we plan to come again when we revisit the area. The modern hotel had a very contempory style and one in which we comfortable and relaxed As with most French hotels, no coffee/tea making facilities in the bedroom
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Convenient location Matress was too soft for me.
It looked interesting on arrival> The decor is modern and the style is reminiscent of north african places, so it is different from what you might expect in Carnac. Nothing worked (Wi-Fi system), especially the so-called Italian bathroom(wetroom) had defective plumbing and could not be used for a normal shower!!!! It flooded the whole bedroom. The bedroom itself was very small, considering the price.
cleanliness of room general hospitaly of staf dinner menue was a little fancy for us, we ate out.
The hotel staff (the couple running the hotel) were very warm, always smiling and ready to help. The hotel and rooms were clean and tidy. The hotel is conveniently located near the bus stop which takes you to Auray (nearest rail station) and other closeby towns, as well as near the old town centre. A bit of a walk from Carnac Plage (and its nightlife), but that is not a problem if you want to want to use the hotel as a base to explore the region or if you just hire a cycle. Some good restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Definitely recommended.
we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the only thing that we can think of to improve was there was no tea or coffee fasilitys and could of done with a fridge in room.
Very welcoming reception and comfortable room No
Friendly staff, good breakfasts, wonderfully bright and sunny rooms.
A street-front room with a nice view, spacious room and bathroom, with lots of storage.
Good breakfast even though not until 8 AM. Noisy exterior shutters. Antiquated TV set, no cable channels. Carpet needs changing NOW!
Nice spacious rooms which were clean and comfortable. A good breakfast available in a sensible time window.
Very close to the most important sites of carnac The rooms "to village" are facing the cities main street - without air conditioning there is no sleep in summer.
Open airy restaurant - very good food Bed was hard for our liking
Nothing Mean management - had to ask for milk from the bar in order to use tea/coffee facilities. Even though it was incredibly cold, manageress would not allow radiator to be switched on. Only source of heat was electric bathroom wall-heater on a timer! Breakfast overpriced - staff in dining room unwelcoming. Decor old, odd dirty smell in corridors and rooms. Overpriced, unpleasant experience.
The hotel's location was very quiet and close to some interesting historical sites such as the alignments of Carnac. We had a comfortable room with a nice view on the golf course. Since we didn't have "conventional" windows in the room but instead a glass door that provided access to the terrace, we could not ventilate our room during the night (the room would have been accessible then from outside).
Very quiet hotel. Relaxed around the pool and explored the countryside and towns.
Quiet and secluded location in forest. Next to outstanding golf course. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Continental breakfast was overpriced
Silence; swinmming pool, large room. The room design was kind of old, like years 80's; small double bed; staff was not so flexible (no hot chocolate at the bar; you need to make reservations before 6 in order to go to dinner at the restaurant; no fries at the restaurant and so on); the bath tube was small and unconfortable; the lamps near the beds had the light bulb exposed (dangerous for children);much too expensive for the features
Very friendly personel, efficient and dedicated to good service. Good food overall. Cold eggs at breakfast. Rather small balcony.
Staff helpful and friendly. Clean, but basic No prope restaurant, . Room smelt of smoke, i am a non smoker.
Brreakfast good and parking Decor dreadful
the location was good for our purpose. The decor was lovely; very trendy and boutique styled. Breakfast was more than ample for 8 euros and was served until 11am (great for a long sleep in!). It was also helpful being able to get lunch or snacks in the bar area. Those meals were great value and large in size. the hotel is in walking distance to the port area, which is lovely. there is also a market on the street one day a week. The staff were very nice and could speak english if needed. There are also hairdryers in the room, which was not mentioned in the room description. Our room and bathroom was lovely, very clean. no air conditioning in the rooms. we had to leave our window open which meant the room was very noisy as it faced onto the street. we were offered a change of room if we wanted, but we were already unpacked and settled so decided to stay where we were. My friends, who were in other rooms said the noise was not a problem for them, but one friend had a very small room, which they were unhappy about. Our room was reasonable in size, another friend's was much bigger.
Good location near downtown Auray, but a bit far from the train station. Helpful staff and good breakfast. We stayed here to catch a bus to Karnac to see the megaliths. Auray itself is charming, particularly the area across the bridge and the Quai Franklin (so named because Ben used this tiny port in 1776 on his semi-secret mission to wangle aid for the revolutionaries in our war of independence). The hotel is a little more than a mile from the train station; we made the walk, with bags, but most people won't go that far. There is bus service and cabs, but infrequently, as Auray is a small town. The bus to Karnac/centre ville gets you to within about a 20-minute walk of the megaliths, and the megaliths themselves go on for more than a mile, I would guess, so be prepared for some walking. There is a tourist train you can catch and the Maison de Megaliths, but we were told this just does a drive-by without stopping, so we walked. It's a good walk.
Staff were accommodating and welcoming, would happily stay there again
The Breakfast room was attractive and well appointed and the Breakfast menue was good The room allocated to us was very small indeed and you could not fully open the door into the toilet in which even shaving was difficult due to the lack of room.We had booked a Comfort Plus room but doubt that this type of room was allocated to us.
Very helpful staff and excellent location within the town of Auray. It would have been nice if the hotel had a lift, but we were given a first-floor room and the staff were quite helpful in getting our bags up to our room.
Friendliness of owners, central for Brittany exploration, walking distance of town and port.(extended our stay by 2 nights)
Nice and modern hotel, well up to date. Close enough to a very cosy harbour. A bit noisy outside from the cafe in the night.
Close to Carnac
The Hotel was clean, quiet and the junior suite was a good size. The swimming pool, was heated, clean and well maintained. The restaurant food was extremely delicious, if expensive. The cost of the junior suite was a bit high for the quality of the room
Beautifully designed and decorated rooms. Food was excellent and, I thought, great value for money. Very fast & free Wi Fi.
Waitresses were very friendly and helpful. appreciated having hotel towels for the swimming pool Bread rolls not provided soon enough at the begining of the meal
