The grounds were excellent The facilities were basic and shared. For the price charged, on suite should be available.
The hotel was quite comfortable, and close to Prudhoe where my husband had to go to on business, and only a few miles from Newcastle Metrocentre for me to go shopping. There had recently been a leak above our bathroom, and it smelt damp. The hotel can't be blamed for that, but it needs to be attended to promptly. I would stay at the hotel again, but I would enquire about that beforehand.
The staff were very friendly, made you feel welcome. The hotel room itself was a good size, bathroom was spacious with a huge corner bath. The windows were difficult to open.
Staff friendly, clean comfortable room at a reasonable rate. No.
Accommodation was roomy and beautifully maintained. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Probably the best value for money I have ever experienced.
Easy access to city, quiet at night, polite staff. I would like to return in the future for a longer stay
easy reach of many places Nothing
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was beautifully presented and I was pleasantly surprised as the price was very reasonable. I would definitely return again. A hotel bar would have been nice but not a deal breaker as only 5 miles from city-centre
The room, the quiet, the bathroom. Excellent stay - would definitely go back. would have liked cable/satellite television and digital (or any) radio.
The landlady was very friendly It was very dark, had a musty smell and the shower was terrible - did not work.
Very welcoming experience Unable to get hot water and could not plug any devices into television such as playstation or dvd player.
When I booked the hotel on the website, I gave my credit card details for gurantee only as it is clearly written. The hotel people took the money without any words when the guests were supposed to pay either on the arrival or check-out. I can't believe their irresponsible and rude gesture, what if I booked the hotel for some people, and they wouldn't pay me back? Would the hotel take a responsibility? They certainly should change their payment system, or at least ask the guest how they would like to pay if it would be okay to take the money from credit card booking, etc.?
Excellent rooms Landlady lacking in social skills
Location was good, near all shops, and pubs. Also next to the sea front. Everything was in walking distance. Room was small and outdated, no hot running water for the bath or sink.
the hotel was fine though rather small . over priced larger hotels in the area are cheaper and have better facilities
The room was very comfortable also the beds. The breakfast was wonderful, if we stayed any longer would definitly had to refuse and had much smaller portions.
The Hotel was warm and clean and close to the centre of the town and the main night life. Everyone was nice and nothing was too much bother. The breakfast was well presented and served with a smile. Nothing
We were received in a very friendly & helpful way, 7 the hotel was everything we expected & needed.
My husband and I found the hotel to be nice. Very near the beach which was a nice surprise. Breafast was very good, lovely to have fresh fruit in the morning. The only bad point that we could find was the bath when you pulled the plug out the water came up the shower plug and it smelt awful for quite a while.
we enjyed the atmosphere of the hotel and the extra touches
The accommodation was very good value for money, and exactly where we wanted to be. The owners were friendly and the breakfasts were very good. None
We found it very peaceful with a relaxing atmosphere and a good area for country walks.
what we liked about riding farm was we had great hosts the room was first class the food was good ,it was agreat freindly atmosphere everthing about it was fantastic
Helpful pleasant staff. good breakfast. Hard to find.
Friendly staff, lovely room, superb breakfast
Nice location close to major road links very friendly owner comfortable room and good breakfast would stay there again
Well appointed bedroom, ground coffee, fresh milk and chocolates in bedroom, friendly, helpful proprietors, pleasant surrounding countryside, big choice of breakfast. Location is a bit remote, but good directions were given and we did not get lost. There was no sitting room for guests' use.
Very friendly and cosy and within easy reach of Durham and Newcastle. Lumpy pillows! (Very minor point)
The location of Riding Farm is fantastic only 10 minutes from the centre of Newcastle. Very homely and very restful. Breakfast was wonderful and set us up for the whole day.
The rooms were replenished daily and clened for when i returned and the food for breakfast was spot on. Steve on the bar was very approachable with a smile on his face at all times and when time allowed was willing to have a chat. The two ladies who did Breakfast were also excellent and very friendly and could not do enough for me. So thanks to them. At night time during the week i came down every night to eat but with me not being a great fan of tapas i ate the from the specials board. Unfortunately the special was the same all week and i would of liked a touch of variety. Due to this i went somewhere else for dinner when because of the nature of my visit (business) i would of preferred to stay there as i had lots of studying to do in my room. It would not put me off however as the positives far outweighed the negatives. Keep up the good work i think your on to a winner yours sincerely Graham Macdonald.
Reasonably central to town, good location with regard to other restaurants. The quality of the room was poor, the bed sloped (felt like you where going to fall out), the bathroom smelt (problem with drains venting in), there was no controller for TV (meant using button which difficult since TV six feet in the air), there was little or no parking (had to park on street), etc.
Staff friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed. No toilet roll holder. No bath mat and water tended to go onto floor when showering. It ended up in a pool by the bathroom door.
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.Hotel was basic but clean and very well heated despite the extremely bad weather.Hotel tapas bar great food and good value for money Breakfast finished a little bit to early at nine am.Nine thirty is more appropiate for people on holiday especially in an northern England winter.
The downstairs of the hotel has a warm evening atmosphere and a fun design. The staff are friendly and it is near the river and beautiful bridges. Make sure you ask for one of the new rooms as we were faced with a very small, cold, shabby room and a fold out sofa bed for the same price as the larger, updated rooms with four poster beds! Be sure to check your booking with them twice before arrival as we checked only once and were not put on the booking list.
Reasonable sized room and very friendly staff Restaurant closed earlier than advertised (at 9 instead of 10) so we missed dinner there
meal when I went there.that is no heat conditionor during I stay. I feel disappointed with that.
Nothing We reserved a family room (double and a single). First room they tried to give us was 2 twins in a room without a door knob. Stains on the bed covers and an overall stink. After complaining to the owner they gave us a double with a twin all scrunched into a small room on the 4th floor (no lift).Mind you they said that all the rooms were booked and everyone checked in which was obviously a bald faced lie.
Many good points. a friendly welcome, helpful staff, a comfortable bed and the bar was open till late! Only one. The temperature of the shower in my room barely reached tepid. as this was only one night it mattered little to me but worth checking out
the personnel was really friendly and cooperative. The hotel offered wireless internet, but that did not work. Also, it offered tv, but most channels did not work properly.
good bedroom, comfy bed, very friendly staff, great breakfast, location of hotel.
The single bed in the room was a bit "tired". Matress had seen better days
Friendly couple that ran the hotel, comfy bed, nice breakfast
Really friendly, plenty to eat at breakfast which was well presented. Took the dog as they are animal friendly, which was great. Did not mind us bring a chippy in for tea.
friendly - family run no shampoo in shower
The staff were pleasant and I was left to come and go as was suitable for me, however the shower in my room was stuck on one temperature which was scalding hot! and staff were difficult to find to request a room change - in fact the only time I saw staff was when I checked in and when I checked out. A nice place to stay if you are on a budget.
Exactly what you would expect of a b&b for 30 quid a night None
The room was large, clean and on the whole acceptable.
Breakfasts were really nice and staff nice and friendly. Hotel nicely situated and roomreally comfortable. Shower in room 1 was not very warm
I found it comfortable but unexceptional I would not recommend this hotel for weekend stays. A number of drunken and unruly guests
Family run and friendly. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the last 12 months. It was a good find.
