We were only staying over one night after a long driving holiday but wish we had stayed longer so as to explore the champagne area more. On top of everything Thierry served an excellent breakfast, all organic and fresh produce. An excellent location to explore the area.

Pros: Breakfast was great. Manager very pleasant. Bed very comfortable.
Cons: Tea facilities in the room would have been good. Coffee machine provided, but kettle/cups/milk etc would have been welcome. You can make tea in the lounge area, but first thing in the morning would have been useful.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was our second visit and it was just amazing !The host Emmanuelle was as kind as last time ans an excellent chef ! The kindness of having an Honest bar system was nice too ! You can also chill in a beautiful lounge. Definitely more the Level of a hotel that ans B&B for us ! The chateau was splendid !! Wish we could some more time there. We were there just for one night bit it was gorgeous ! Perfect for a repeater as well as we got to try a different room this time ! Definitely coming back !
Cons: I wish they had elevator because I have very heavy luggage but I understand as it’s a historic chateau ( castle) !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice village but a bit out of the way for through travellers. Good place to stay if you're exploring the Champagne region, with Champagne tastes! . Friendly welcome from Emanuelle to an elegant old mansion, modernised throughout, but unlike the other two more reasonably priced Chambre D'Hotes we stayed in during this visit, no A/C or mini fridge were available in the quite small room. Excellent shower in bathroom. Standard French breakfast - good croissants, bread, eggs if required and ham/cheese.
Cons: Our Sat Nav had difficulty in finding the property, the entrance to which is not all that easy to spot, being a remote bell push.in a wall. Lack of Air Conditioning in a hot summer was an issue. If you stay on a Monday, only the most expensive restaurant out of only three nearby, is open., but the food there is very good and the wine reasonably priced..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful property set on lovely grounds with hosts that were excellent. Emmanuelle was extremely welcoming and the breakfasts were excellent.
Cons: No Fridge in room and the wifi in the cottage was very weak.

We had a delicious 4 course dinner--complete with aperitifs, appetizers, and wine--as well as a very nice breakfast with excellent coffee. Our room was nicely decorated, comfortable, and had a sliding door that opened onto the patio. Pros: Aga is the perfect host and made us and our dog feel extremely welcome from first booking. The hotel is a charming corner of rural France with local history landmarks. Aga cooked a delicious four course dinner in the evening and we relaxed in the garden afterwards. Breakfast was included in the price and very nice. We only stayed for one night while passing through, and after the monotony of roadside hotels La Besace is an oasis of hospitality. Truly a hidden gem and we will stay again if we ever come this way again.
Cons: The room was warm at night, but in 20 degree heat that's to be expected without air conditioning. It did not detract from a wonderful stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was so quiet and lovely. The views are impressive perched on the hillside.
Cons: We were very well take care of. Nothing needs to be changed.
6.3 Good
Pros: Splendid view amidst vineyards.
Cons: Very uncomfortable mattress + bedding smelled like rubber. People in the adjacent room could be clearly heard. Very poor internet connection. The owners were not awake before 8:30 which belated our preferred check out.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: On half of the heights above Hermonville you'll find this former farm house from which you'll have a great view into the valley and over the vineyards. The house is maintained in a very tasteful style, the rooms are very large, pretty luxury and absolutely clean. The breakfast was brilliant with a full selection of cakes, breads, jams, fruits etc. We very much enjoyed the conversation with our hosts. In the evening it was great to sit outside on the terrace, having a "French" dinner with cheese, bread and wine (and Pizza for the kids) and enjoying the beautiful view and silence. From this accommodation it is not far to Reims or in the large area of Champagne around Epernar or even to make a short trip into the Picardie. Thank you very much for your hospitality

5.0 Okay
Pros: Excellent accommodation - large room with ensuite. Very good breakfast. Fantastic views and good location. The host was extremely helpful and made us very welcome.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was a great little find and a guest house with an amazing view. Nice size bedroom and clean. Hosts were very helpful We sat outside on the small terrace when we arrived and listened to the birds singing. The town is not far to walk, but we drove in as we needed dinner and it was a bit hilly to walk back. Make sure you book at the local pizza place - so cheap and great food but gets busy!! Does take away if needed You will definitely need to take any snacks / drink / water with you to the guest house. There is a shop in the village which has a good selection of everything. If this had been shut we would have struggled! Breakfast was very fresh and everything you needed! Croissants were amazing!!
Cons: Nothing really - mattress was slightly dipped in the middle which meant we rolled into each other but still comfortable. Only point to note is that the property only accepts cash - we did not know this and luckily had enough cash on us - although there is a bank in the village. Not sure if booking.com can advise this beforehand to help all parties?

Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The chateau is stunning, lovely pool area, the rooms are very traditional but very nice.
Cons: The mattress was extremely soft. The price for food and drinks was verging on extortionate, €15.00 for a single gin & tonic. €25.00 each for breakfast. No tea/coffee facilities in the room so no choice but to order room service. No air conditioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply amazing All the staff were amazing Never stated in such a great place before
7.5 Good
Pros: We had booked the wrong date but the staff were able to cancel and rebook for the night we arrived. They were very helpful regarding our mistake! Fortunately, they were virtually empty! Our room, though spacious, seemed a little in need of a refresh but the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The exterior, particularly the windows, were in need of a repaint job in places. The grounds were beautifully kept.
Cons: The cost of the food in the restaurant - although the food was quite food it was over priced in our opinion. My starter was stunning but my main course lacked flavour and seasoning - not a good standard. Only one other couple were in the restaurant so there was little atmosphere (and no background music).

Pros: A lovely old building with lots of original features. Renovated without losing original windows and doors. Very homely. It can't be easy to keep clean but it was very clean. The shower etc was all up to date. Plenty of interesting little spaces to enjoy in the garden.
Cons: Nothing really. We were a bit discomcerted by the suction system in the toilet at first. It was fine once we knew how it worked. Maybe a few too many ornaments and 'bits' for us but that's personal taste not a criticism.

Pros: Little heaven just a 15 min drive away from Reims. Very peaceful, wonderful campagne.
Cons: All rooms were fully booked but they made it possible for us to stay anyway. So we liked really everything about it!

Pros: We arrived here by motorbike on an extremely hot day (43C) and my wife was suffering from heatstroke. The hosts could not have been more helpful and attentive. This is a beautiful property and the photos on here don’t do it enough justice. Gorgeous big rooms; beautiful courtyard, full of interesting and quirky curios; lovely breakfast; friendly people. Would recommend to anyone.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.
7.5 Good
Cons: No one around at 7.30 am, left without breakfast and without paying. We rang later and then sent them a cheque. They should have told us the time of checking ot and breakfast. Check out was on the confirmation but we booked months ago.
7.5 Good
Pros: We had a large room on the ground floor with a small court yard out the back which was useful for our dog. Very large and comfortable bed. The B&B is in a very quiet town which apparently has a good restaurant although this was closed in August as we discovered everyone goes on holiday then! The hotel made a nice meal for us instead so we didn't have to drive to Reims. Good champagne to buy nearby! Good breakfast to fill up on before driving to Calais.
Cons: In comparison to other hotels we stayed in on our trip, the charge for bringing a dog was very high (€15) and not communicated at the time of booking/ before payment.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Special atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The wonderful eccentricity to the property. The garden/eating area was like being in Aladdin’s grotto, a beautiful place to relax in after a long drive. The town is lovely, can’t wait to go back. A wonderful host who also runs a gorgeous boutique on the property, full of great bits & bobs, I could have spent a fortune!
Cons: Nothing!!

Pros: The house and rooms are beautiful. There is also a courtyard in which you are invited to sit in and enjoy drinks during your stay. The breakfast was delicious and lots to choose from

Pros: The property is wonderful - very quirky but ever so delightful. This is the 2nd time we have stayed there and we are looking forward to the next time. The restauraunt is extremely high quality; the food is exceptional; similarly breakfast was a very relaxed time. All in all, an experience not to be missed.
Cons: I didn't like that I only had one night there- next time I'll try to arrange 2 visits on my holiday.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location and incredible room. Food at the restaurant was wonderful.
Cons: It was a little tired, the blind didn't work and some of the lamps didn't work, a few bulbs missing in the reception room light in the bedroom.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was in fact a suite. Very spacious and light. Lovely balcony. Excellent dinner and service.
Cons: A swimming pool
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location....views... hot tub.... restaurant
Cons: Rain leaked through roof in one of the bedrooms...blind broken bathroom..rooms a little shabby and tired
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything. It was so peaceful, the suite was spacious and the food in the restaurant was delicious. We would love to visit again soon.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was stunning. A huge bedroom, lounge, and bathroom with an outside terrace and a hot tub which was great. (Although we couldn’t turn it off and there weren’t enough staff there to help ) Location was super too.
Cons: Although room was lovely (, Athena) there was no where to hang anything up. We were only there for one night up it would have been nice to have been able to hang up my dress for the evening. There were no coffee making facilities in the room, which as other travellers had said was rather annoying as we felt we were very limited. Menu was expensive. Small plates and limited to what we could eat as we were gluten free. Found the food quite tasteless and salty. Breakfast was awful. We had pre warned hotel that we were gluten free. We had two rock hard rolls for breakfast which were in the same bowl as croissants. Luckily we aren’t coeliac! They were so hard it wasn’t easy to cut them open. Only one cup of coffee, a small orange juice A tiny pot of mixed cubed fruit which was obviously left over from the night before, small cube of cheese and ham. Definitely the worst breakfast we have had in France! We do feel that this Chateau was all show on the outside and definitely it could be made better especially for the money.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, friendly staff, nice breakfast, safe parking for motorcycles, nice hot tub on balcony after days riding!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience of the chateau
Cons: Nothing to dislike
5.5 Okay
Pros: Good location, pleasant grounds. Arsene suite has large bedroom, separate sitting room and shower-room/separate wc. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: It’s the little things that let it down: - no plug in washbasin, and as water very hot and no mixer tap, couldn’t use basin for washing or shaving - ludicrous - no toilet roll holder in toilet - toilet rolls stand on basin, so get wet when wash hands - sloppy - pillow cases and duvet cover/bedsheets did not match - in a €170 a night room? - careless - plug socket by bed loose, so could not be used - dangerous - continental breakfast laid out for each room - no choice and the same each day - small fruit salad, one juice, 2 rolls and 2 croissants each, 3 small pots of jam - staff have few communication skills in whichever language used, and missed huge opportunities to create or point out potential “wow” factors

Pros: Extraordinarily good value for money. Very comfy bed. Thank you Valarie, for the clear and concise directions in gaining entry to the apartment.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation was quiet, spotless, bright, very functional and roomy. The owner was fantastic to deal with and perfectly bilingual in French and English and very accommodating. Village is lovely and well situated to explore this beautiful area.
Cons: There wasn’t any tea/coffee available however everything was there to make it and the owner did say she could provide everything as needed...just being really picky!! I personally didn’t like the mattress. I’m not a fan of pull-out mattresses as I don’t find they support the back at all well.

Pros: Excellent location Lovely warm accomodation Very helpful and friendly owner Highly recommend this place in a very pretty and peaceful village
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent three nights in this wonderful accomodation and enjoyed it immensely. It was very clean, quiet and very-well equipped. The appartement is spacious, beds are comfortable. The garden offers a nice view and some shady places. The village is rather small and there's a bakery in the neighboring village - three minutes by car or 15 on foot. Soissons is about 10 km away.
Cons: Everything was just fine! Th ere's nothing to complain about.

Pros: What a location. Peaceful, yet accessible with the benefit of a winery on site. Couldn't help but take some bottles of champagne made on site home with us... All were very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Thankyou to Solene for her patience in answering my questions prior to our visit and to Nicholas for explaining the fascinating background of the site.

Pros: Lovely accommodation and location, very peaceful amidst vineyards . Few minutes from the motorway so great for breaking up a journey, although might stay longer next time to do tour of vineyards and wine tasting.
Cons: Not a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a ground floor room which led onto the garden and overlooked the vineyard over a wall towards the church. Beautiful view and very peaceful. They recommended restaurant Attis which was excellent - the chef is an artist. Owners of le Clos du Mont d’Hor were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Not really anything to dislike - shower overflowed first time I used it but I had it worked out 5he next time.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location - very convenient for motorway. Beautiful property, full of character. Room had it’s own patio area. Very good breakfast.
Cons: No tea or coffee in room, although could use breakfast room facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personalized service and family feel of the property made it very special. Don't miss the tour of the champagne farm!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was great for the motorway. There was access to the outside space and some toys for the children. Breakfast was good and there was lots of it!
Cons: The stairs were quite steep for our 4 year old. Maybe a stair gate at the top would be a good idea in case they wake up in the night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Small, quiet- surrounded by countryside.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great with some good restaurants not too far away. Lovely, individual rooms. Buffet breakfast is great way to start the day.

Pros: Experience the real France, lovely people, beautiful scenery and great hospitality. This is a wonderful working vineyard owned for generations by the same family. Very special village 5 minutes up the road to add to the experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful champagne vineyard location. We had a ground floor room with private garden with views over the vineyard and the local church. Fridge in the room with the local champagne available- what a great way to end a day! Welcoming staff with a fantastic breakfast room with views across the vineyards. Make sure if you stay to have enough time to join the vineyard tour ( which we missed ). Lovely rural setting - so beautiful we will be back!

Pros: Fantastic location, perfect for a two night stopover on the way to the alps. Lovely lake views and extremely spacious and comfortable room for a family of 4. Excellent breakfast and kids eat breakfast free.
Cons: Restaurant pricey and drinks particularly steep. 10 euros for a large beer. Go for the set menu or a very good cheeseburger for 15 euros. Kids’ menu available for 16.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely location.
Cons: A shadow of its old self. Bedroom and particularly the bathroom need an update. Drinks quite expensive Expensive for what it is.
5.0 Okay
Cons: We arrived in the early hours. The receptionist was keen to just give us our room key and let us go to our room. The hotel offer a late arrival facility and yet we felt like we were an annoyance. The welcome was not friendly nor did he take us to our room to show us where everything was. I had to come down twice as no one answered the fone.

Pros: Location and excellent food
Cons: Lack of air conditioning in bedroom

Pros: We had a lovely view of the lake, the bed was comfortable and everywhere was very clean. The staff were friendly.
Cons: It was cramped - four people in what would normally be a double room with a sofa. We felt out of place with children as it's mostly a golfers hotel. Drinks were very expensive.

Pros: It was great to stay in the yurt which was very comfortable. The restaurant was very good and the staff were very attentive. We would recommend the location which is very peaceful.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Friendly welcome from owner/manager
Cons: Very out of the way down a single track road.Facilities quite rundown and ramshackle. One toilet between up to 20 guests in a field would be very problematic but fortunately we were the only ones staying there. Food was ok but not great quality and am sure my main was straight from the freezer. Accepting the fact we were in the country and there were ponds and animals on site there were a LOT of insects and perhaps the owners could provide some deterrents within the yurts. Btw our yurt had a wasp nest underneath it
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It is the idillic stop on the way to somewhere. The Yurt are absolutely stunning I felt in love with it. The children were entertained by the animals so much, we relaxed the hole time.
Cons: Nothing not to like, just wanted to get organised with dinner so we could eat a packed dinner on the table in front of the yurt x
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I stayed there with my two kids 5 and 3 and they loved concept and the animals. The food was very good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality was fantastic, tranquil setting, amazing food in restaurant
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was super friendly and accommodating, despite our rather rubbish French. Great to have a restaurant on site which was authentic and enjoyable. The staff lent my little boy a fishing rod so he could fish amongst the Llamas and ponies, great experience. Lovely unusual stopover.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly owner, yurt was lovely decorated and the children loved the animals.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We love yurts the countryside and animals this had all 3
Cons: The restaurant was closed. It would have been nice to have known this in advance as this is why we booked it as was on a motorbike.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We went in February and the yurt was warm and cosy as it had a wood burner - which they put on before we arrived, what a lovely touch! We had to watch the 2 year old closely as there is no fire guard, but this was not a problem as there is plenty of outdoor space for kids to play and see the animals. An idea is to bring a travel cot they cannot climb out of in case they wake in the night and you are sleeping and the wood burner is on. The whole experience was enchanting and the children loved it - a really spcual family memory. The restaurant was a delight if you like 'a la maison'.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The yurt was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was great

Cons: Pricing a little on the high side.
