10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fabulous find and so much nicer than our usual hotel stop overs on the way to our skiing holiday. The owner was charming and showed us his fabulous home which is full of amazing furniture and collectibles. The beds were very comfortable. Would be even better in the summer when you could take advantage of sitting on the terrace and looking over the beautiful gardens. The owner was very gracious about us arriving slightly later than planned even though we had ordered dinner. A very tasty three course meal for euro 22 accompanied by local red wine (18 euro) were very welcome after a full days driving. The breakfast was just as good - homemade yoghurt, fruit, croissants, boiled egg, ham, cheese, jams etc. What more could you want. All in all a fab find and somewhere we would hope to return
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had the family room and it was spacious with chairs and a couch. A very comfortable room, where you could spend time if the weather gets bad or you need a break from travelling. We could have spend a few days there. The bathroom is gigantic. Nice big screen tv, comfortable beds with enough pillows and a desk. A very big veranda is right infront of the room with tables and chairs and couches on the patio. Nice view into the big garden. The breakfast was fantastic. Delicious yoguhrt, a fresh fruitsalad, a croissant and bread with marmalade, a boiled egg, ham and cheese. Good value for money. We recommend this B&B.
Cons: In summer it might get hot, there is a train going by behind the house and if the windows are opened you will hear it. This place has no airconditioning.

Overview Reviews
Visitors to Saint-Amour-Bellevue will find that the Auberge du Paradis is a fantastic accommodation choice. It's easy to keep connected with the property's Wi-Fi in designated areas. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite easy to get to, but feels like it's out in the country. The pool is a nice touch. Breakfast is a full affair with eggs , meat and cheese, fruit, pastries, juice, jams, coffee, tea. Rooms are spacious and have comfortable beds. Both of the restaurants are fabulous.
Cons: The room layout is a bit odd with the sink out in a corner and two separate rooms for shower and toilet. There is not much of a place for arranging your personal items like make up or toothbrushes. No place for the hand towels. The lighting was a bit dim for trying to apply make up.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is quite outstanding and the service is efficient but friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent! The grounds and rooms are beautiful and the view is incredible. The staff and customer service were excellent. Looking forward to returning.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room, excellent facilities. Two very good restaurants, one bistro-style the other gastronomic we stayed two nights and ate in them both. Staff extremely helpful. Very pleasant garden and wonderful views
Cons: Electric kettles in the bedrooms were not very reliable. There was a notice in reception saying that booking.com customers would be charged extra to cover the charge made by booking.com, although we were not asked to pay this.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: A superb find. Comfortable room and a Michelin star restaurant that was over the top good with fantastic service, tasty food presented in creative ways. We will be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful property! We stayed in the Cumin room, which is the smallest of the rooms I believe, but still ample space. It had a small sitting area with 2 chairs and a huge open shower. The property itself has a lovely bed and breakfast atmosphere. The outdoor space is awesome, we could have just hung out there the whole trip! There is small pool, outdoor dining area and a sitting area. Great views from the deck next to the pool. Also very beautiful at night. We ate at both of the restaurants and they were both fantastic. Also had the breakfast, which was great too! You get your choice of eggs, meat and cheeses, wonderful jams and pastries. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, even with a bit of a language barrier. There is free parking is right across the street, just make sure you get there before the dinner rush starts or there might not be a spot (it's an open lot for the surrounding area). It's a great location for visiting a lot of the vineyards and wineries in the area.
Cons: There is hardly anything not to like. There only issue we had was our toilet inexplicably didn't work one morning. However, we told a member of the staff and it was fixed in a few hours without issue. Also a good idea to brush up on your French! Only a few members of the staff spoke English well enough to converse, same goes for people in the wineries we visited.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views , the room , cleaness

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was so helpful and so friendly he couldn't do enough for us. I am gluten intolerant and because of the short notice he couldn't provide gluten free bread so he suggested that I use that which I already had and help myself to coffee and jam and he wouldn't charge for my breakfast. I thought this very generous and not typical of the response I have encountered thus far
Cons: Can't think of anything

Cons: All amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome, clean room quirkily decorated. Had baby cot as requested. Breakfast just what we needed. Highly recommended for a stopover as near to town centre.

Pros: Totally different to all the "chain" hotels. Quirky modern décor. Easy parking nearby and very short walk in town centre. Spotlessly clean. Good breakfast with lots of choice. Really pleasant and helpful owners. This is the 4th year we have stayed and hope to be here again next year if we travel from Calais to Provence. Ideally located to break the journey.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for a stop-over on our way to Avignon and booked this property without knowing it is actually a winery in a beautiful house with 3 guestrooms surrounded by vineyards. Owners Sylvie and Franck are very friendly and truly look after their guests. Our room was comfortable, view from the property over Fleurie and the vineyards is fantastic. Breakfast is served in their own living room on a single table with other guest, you really feel at home. On top of that Franck provided a wine tasting. The Chiroubles, Fleurie and Morgon's were very good indeed. Highly recommended !

Pros: I loved everything. Franck and Sylvie are the prefect hosts. They gave us plenty of local knowledge about places to visit and we got to enjoy a degustacion of their wonderful wine ( the Morgon was my favourite) Breakfast was perfect, I could eat them baguettes and croissants all day long. The views are splendid as well and it's only a 5min walk to the chapel de la madonne to look down on the town and surrounding area.
Cons: My lack of French. I'll learn more for my next visit.

Cons: Not too easy to find as didn’t pick up on satnav Look for yellow building on a steep rise on lhs from Fleurie in 1 mile

Pros: We loved the whole experience - the location, the welcome, the readiness to help us find somewhere to eat and a wine tasting, nothing was too much trouble. Although there wasnt an ensuite, this posed absolutely no problem and the bathroom and toilet were absolutely spotless. The bed was soooooo comfortable! We had a walk around the village then went up to the table d'orientation. Then we went to the bar des vins in Saint Veran for an apero and then on to the moulin de Saint Veran for dinner and they were lovely and made the stay very memorable. In the morning Babette had sorted us a wine tasting and we left with several boxes of wine - loved it!
Cons: That we could not have stayed longer!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful restored farmhouse, great views, warm welcoming hosts.
Cons: Truly lovely family, but guest room has no ensuite bath/toilet and is not separated from family living quarters. WiFi only works in living room. Hosts were considerate and discreet, but if you need privacy, this is not the best choice.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and apartment
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved just everything. The property is a typical stone country house with a stunning view over the rolling landscape. The room was spacious and super clean and tidy. And Bambina - the owner - has been very kind in providing tips on what to see and where to eat in the area. She also speaks fluently French, Italian, English and Japanese. Stunning. My best stay in France.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very large, beautifully decorated with very good taste. The room had 1 queen bed- very comfortable and a click-clack to sleep 2 more people. This would be good for 2 couples or a family of 4. The bed linens were of high quality. The bathroom was a few steps outside the room. The entire suite was private so not shared with others. Very clean, modern, and well-equipped. there was a Tassimo machine and dishes in the room. There is under floor heating very warm and comfortable! The owner, Nevit, was very warm, friendly and accommodating. The petit dejeuner was lovely- very fresh bread and croissant, confiture all served on very attractive dishwater. Nevit made eggs for us and had ham slices. Delicious! She will soon have a gite to accommodate 6 people. She has 2 chamber d'hote rooms in her house with private bath. We loved it! We will return as we explore the Pouilly Fuisee area every year to buy wine. Parking just outside your room.
Cons: The only thing I would suggest is a bit more lighting in the bedroom and dining area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: With special arrangement, Madame was able to accommodate our early arrival by train. She suggested a one-star Michelen restaurant where we enjoyed an affordable dinner that was exquisite in flavor and presentation. The amazing breakfast (at no additional cost), served in the soft morning light of the high-ceiling dining room, included seasonal fruit, juice, eggs, cheese, granola, yogurt, choices of breads, croissant, and her own home-made jams. As we left, she provided a small box of tomatoes from the vines in the courtyard, where we had rested at dusk.
Cons: The B&B is a gem in what feels like an industrial part of town. Even so, the River Saone, not many blocks away, provides a view and a place to walk.

Pros: Loved how spacious the rooms were and the fact there is a nice sized pool in the back. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved the location and how easy it was to get to nearby shops / restaurants but also how it’s recessed a little so not all of the noise.
Cons: The only thing I could say was I wish breakfast started earlier but that’s for selfish reasons (I had to leave early for the train)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully refurbished property with attention to detail. All rooms are different and unique. Excellent location close to the city centre. Lovely pool and delicious breakfast.
Cons: May be difficult for travellers with walking disability as only one room is on the ground floor.

Pros: Perfect location, facilities and kindness of the hosts. They contacted us to explain the route, received us on time, made the room comfortable and indicated (and drove us there) great wine producers in the region. We also found out that the start line of the Beaujolais marathon is 500m from his place which makes it a perfect lodging if you’re running it this year.

Pros: very warm welcome, very comfortable and quiet room, great value and charming town less than 10 mn walk from the B&B

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The reception was very good. The owner phoned to reserve a meal locally which was exceptional. The cat was also amazing and really friendly! It was very peaceful and calm.
Cons: Breakfast was included but this we found was disappointingly sparce. There was ample juice, butter, milk but only biscuits. The owner explained that we could walk to the village and get croissants and bread - which we did and they were delicious, but had we been wanting to get away early in the morning this would not have been convenient.

Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stopover to and from the Mediterranean Sea. Quietly located not too far from the motorway. In a beautiful village in the Beaujolais region.
Cons: The “maitre” in the restaurant was quite pushy recommending the set menu. Didn’t seem to appreciate a la carte orders.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Rose was amazing! We picked Julienas mainly because it was a good stopping point on the way to the south coast. But we were incredibly lucky that not only did we find a beautiful village, but La Rose was unbelievably wonderful. Christine was a warm, helpful and generally lovely host. The pool was perfect for our two kids--the view from the pool terrace is gorgeous, surrounded by vineyards and general beauty. If our kids weren't with us, it would have felt like we were on our honeymoon. Delicious food from a first class chef in the restaurant. It was that great!!!! Many stars from us!
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Decent room in a nice hotel. Bathroom in the room was somewhat strange.
Cons: Very disappointed with the restaurant. The food was overpowered by dressing and strong olive oil.

Cons: Nothing apart from Tuesday all bars and shops closed but did not affect us
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and staff are very nice. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The location was quiet and peaceful.
Cons: The shower tub is quite slippery so be cautious, but the bath was nice despite that. Don’t bother with the breakfast, every thing beyond the basic rolls, yogurt and coffee is an extra. Dinner was okay but several execution mistakes (tough braised chicken, indifferent vegetables) Not worth the time and price.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It had been for many years as we were not sattisfied with the set menu last time. Regret to have not returned earlier. The hotel did major improvements both in the rooms and the restaurants. Rooms are clean, beds are large and comfortable and the AC works well and is silent. Good choice from the menu, good food and very reasonable price setting. We will gladly come back.

Pros: I had booked for a one night stopover on my long journey down from Germany to Spain recently. Finding this lovely establishment was relatively easily. I was grateful for the free car park at the front and to the side of the hotel. In fact this hotel is located next to the busy A6 motorway and is on the D17 going in to Macon. But surprisingly the traffic noise didn't distract from a lovely visit here. Check in was quick. My room was on the first floor. It was fairly basic with a large double bed, air conditioning, a flat screen TV, and separate bathroom with walk in shower I decided to stop for dinner here which was fantastic. Sitting out on the pleasant terrace, I had the Menu Gourmand which included a delicious foie gras starter (another reviewer was asking for them to take this off the menu - sorry, but I prefer to have a choice, thank you very much!!). The main course was Charlois beef done to perfection with a delicious sauce and an interesting array of artistically prepared vegetables. I also enjoyed the extensive cheese board and delightful, fruity dessert. Brilliant. In fact each course, and the various amuse bouches was prepared to perfection. The wine list is really extensive. I made it easy for myself and relied on the recommendations of the restaurant. With the foie gras I had a glass of sweet muscat followed by a glass of Savigny-Les-Beaune with the beef. Service throughout was polite, efficient and attentive. These people know what they are doing and they do it well. I wasn't here long enough to explore this place further. But I did notice a quaint little swimming pool in the back garden which is obviously a big plus.
Cons: The lighting over the sink in the bathroom needs repairing. WiFi is available but I couldn't be bothered with the need to register into the system. Is that sort of thing really still necessary nowadays? I was travelling with my dog who also settled down comfortably - pity that there is a 10,00€ surcharge for dogs (which I was informed about in advance!)... Breakfast was an extra charge.

Pros: It was a very personal service by the two owner/operators. We had opted for dinner in our package. I'm glad we did for two reasons... A) the food was great and about £30 each including wine was excellent value for money and B) there is no-where else around, without having to drive into town!
Cons: No, don't change a thing.

We opted for the evening meal with wine which was absolutely first class and the highlight of our stay. Owners were friendly and attentive. Cons: Nothing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room and view was good and the bed extremely comfortable
Cons: Didn’t like attitude to not being allowed to sit in a air conditioned lounge until check in time as it was very hot outside. Also told we couldn’t use disabled space as we hadn’t booked it even though we have a blue badge. There was only one disabled space in the car park. Also didn’t like all the notes of rules in our room.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The location was convenient.
Cons: This is a very old hotel and the room we had was very dark. The whole property needs to be redone would not stay here again.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Accessible and secure parking
Cons: Strange odour throughout entire building. Small bedroom and very small bathroom There was only one coffee sachet and we were a couple. Housekeeping didn’t think to check these small details We were not offered help with our luggage (In fairness there was a very nice young lady at reception and I would not have expected her to carry our bags for us)
6.8 Good
Pros: My room needed updating .The road in the front of the hotel is busy
Cons: Newer room

Cons: Pricy breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great room, charming hotel, excellent and friendly stat providing advice and reservations for a dinner restaurant
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant and spoke perfect English. Car parking was good. But I thought it was included in the price. €15 per night was not obvious to me.
Cons: Again I thought that breakfast was included in the price of the room. A bit of a theme I know - I need to read more. I was travelling with a cat. A bit weird but I was delivering it to it’s owner in Italy. This is an extra €10 per night. See above. But when you are in a hurry these things should be obvious.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Unfriendly staff Lack of care eg no shower gel in the container
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location with easy access as we were driving. Staff were very helpful, advising of some good places to eat nearby. Room was very comfortable - with great air con as we were staying during a heatwave! If you require parking ensure you reserve a space as parking is limited.

Cons: No tea making facilities in room. Were not allowed to use cafe machine outside of breakfast hours.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, in beautiful surroundings, very convenient for the motorway, however it felt like being no where near it with the peace and quiet in the middle of the vines. Excellent staff and lovely breakfast on the terrace.
Cons: It would be great if they could consider serving evening meals there too
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a friendly well located Hotel if you have business in Beaujolais. It is surrounded by good village restaurants some of which are exceptional. The beds are clean and comfortable and the staff are welcoming, if on business and visiting friends and producers locally the access is good as the gate code and outdoor keys make coming back late very easy.
Cons: Not a lot to not like, No lift if you have problems with stairs but usually there are rooms available on the ground floor so make sure you book in advance if you have someone who cannot cope with stairs.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great family room formed of adjoining rooms, gave security with children but ability for parents to use the room after the children were in bed. Very friendly manager, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast excellent.
Cons: Nothing, hotel restaurant wasn't open but local recommendation was excellent.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, good view from the room. Good breakfast.
Cons: Several staff members made mistakes regarding my length of stay. Double bed was two single beds pushed together, beds were too soft, weirdly textured pillowcases. Just two hooks on the back of the door in the bathroom. No place to hang hand towels etc.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating host who let us store our bikes in his garage. Peaceful location
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, little hotel, surrounded by wine fields. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, the rooms were beautifully decorated with comfortable beds, and the breakfast was delicious. The biggest plus for the children were the owners’ five cats, living on the hotel grounds, as well as the pool. The hotel serve a small selection of pasta dishes for dinner. There are a few restaurants in the village, 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel. It’s possible to by excellent, local wine at a cheap price at the hotel.
7.0 Good
Pros: A good location, good breakfast, friendly staff. The only down side was that the rooms were not air conditioned, the weather was particularly hot The local auberg was particularly good
Cons: Would like air conditioning
6.8 Good
Pros: Location to the village
Cons: Room hadn’t been decorated since the 70s - nothing like the pictures online. Walls paper thin - was woken up by the man next door going to the toilet. Desperately hot with no fan/ air-con.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great with lots of options. The rooms were cozy, clean and comfortable. The landscape was beautiful as well, especially the Koi pond!
Cons: The room was warm with no AC, and with the windows open to get air the bugs and morning sunshine poured in a bit too early. Minor issues.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, amidst the wine ranks of Fleurie, at walking distance of the town centre. A true serene place to relax and enjoy the sun, food and wine of the beautiful Beaujolais. A very nice and welcoming host and a nice swimming pool to cool down (since we visited in July 2019). Comfortable, light rooms and an enjoyable breakfast.
Cons: The lack of air conditioning is the only merit I could think of. Add this and the hotel will be a true masterpiece.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Apart from the above, everything. Room was small but spotlessly clean. The breakfast was wonderful. It was in a quiet location but within walking distance of the town.
Cons: I asked if it was possible to have two cups of tea in the afternoon after we returned from a day out. We were charged €6 basically for two teabags and some hot water. I thought it was a bit mean spirited given that many hotels provide tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners , staff, service and location were amazing. The pool was ideal too.
Cons: Not much to dislike with this hotel it met our expectations within a lovely location in the middle of vineyards.
