The rooms are a good size, but in need of modernisation and improvement - cracked tiles in bathroom, small double bed - all looked very cheap. Needs huge investment in the hotel. Gardens were nice. Food not great, rooms not up to standard, bar too expensive, in serious need ot huge investment - will not be recommending to friends.
The food was very good, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. No
Pleasant helpful staff, very nice position, the food was very good. We found the bed small.
the stay was very relaxing, and the staff very freindly, i will be coming back again soon if the prices stay at the same level. none !
We thought the rooms were very good. A nice size we had the double family rooms. Everything was clean and of a good standard. There was nothing we disliked.
The staff were very professional yet remained friendly and approachable. Roscommon is not a place I would have selected for a break - I had to be there on business, but after my night in the Abbey I would consider staying there again on a leisure break. I felt the entrance from the road should have had better lighting.
The peaceful atmosphere even though busy. The comfort including the large bathroom with its good shower. The reception staff were excellent. No duvets. A very slight degree of casualness by staff at breakfast time. No evening bar meals to allow the alternative of casual dining.
A very pleasant restful resort. The swimming pool area was not as clean as I would like.
Size and comfort of room Shower - poor water pressure and fitting hanging loose from wall! Also, telly in room needs updating - very small!
Friendliness of staff Double bed too small
Wonderful inn type hotel and gracious hospitality-great decor in rooms and throughout hotel, very good restaurant with fine fare .convenient location in town , complimentary parking would stay there again Finding the parking lot-- had to ask where it is
The welcoming reception and hospitally. We arrived cold and wet from a late October motorcycle ride through the rain and were greated with a complimentary hot tea and scone and a warm fire in the hearth. Fantastic
My family's experience at Gleeson's was the quintessential Irish Bed and Breakfast experience that we were all looking for and expecting. Beautiful facility that was enveloped with flowers and foliage; kind and accomodating reception (eventhough they were extremely busy, they made us feel important and invested time and interest in our needs); food was delicious and service by all was phenomenal. Our room was absolutely beautiful and Gleeson's made us feel safe and secure. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the owners/ managers who took the time to talk to three strangers travelling from America. Yes, they were kind and interested in what we had to say, but more importantly - they made us feel as though we were a part of a long lost family - all in one night and half of a morning! None.
Friendly staff, excellent customer service, clean well serviced rooms, excellent value for money. None
the staff were very friendly and helpful The room was very cold and there was no spare blanket in room
My husband and I stayed at Gleeson's for two nights with our young adult daughters. The rooms were clean and comfy. Breakfasts were traditional Irish fare and food was fresh. Location was fabulous as it is located right in the middle of Roscommon town square within walking distance to shopping. We had a fabulous night at Regan's pub just two doors away. Everyone, including the proprietors, were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend!
Eammon & Mary who own the property were very good hosts and the staff were attentive, food was very good in the restaurant. We were upgraded as our bed was very small and there was no additional cost for this. Rooms could be cleaner, lack of toilet rolls and clean towels could be provided without having to keep asking for them. The hotel could do with a little face uplift as some areas look tired and in need of attention.
the breakfast was excellent.
The atmosphere of buildings and market square Poor ventilation
Gleesons was excellent value for money and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only bad point was the noise coming from downstairs, which was caused by the moving of wooden chairs against the stone floors. I would also suggest table cloths would improve the look of the restraunt.
Excellent location in the centre of town, with very good dining and welcoming staff.
The hotel had no record of my booking which was made through your website but luckily they had a room available
Breakfast was the only thing I enjoyed Almost everything. Firstly they did not have my booking organized and I had to wait for 30 minutes for them to sort something out. The room was poorly designed and very uncomfortable. For the price of the room, it was way to expensive.
Staff friendly and rooms always clean and neat. Good natured place in a very good location. Bath a little small
The owners were very rude and unfriendly. Very unpleasant stay The rude manager. Lack of duvet in room. Dirty Windows
It was suitable for a one night stay as we were going to a party and did not require dinner. The breakfast was not buffet and was nice and hot and it was a very good choice. We were back late and the doors were locked, although it stated 24 hour reception. We had to phone the night number for to get a night porters attention but it would be difficult if you did not have your phone with you.
Front of house ie bar, resturant, reception were good.hotel itself was poor. Overcharged in my opinion
Used it to stay over after a wedding. breakfast was served up to 11.30am. could lie in a bit longer. no hurry to leave.great parking ground.
Great breakfast brilliant location
The friendliness, the informality and the food.
The owner was really friendly, the room was clean and comfortable The price (while cheap for the area) was quite pricey for what you got.
