The location was great, picked originally was planning to bring a pet turned out to be a great place to stay No exercise room
Rooms were very modern and clean. Staff was very friendly. Pool area is beautiful.
Clean rooms and a good breakfast. I would definitely stay again Walls were thin so it was very loud inside the rooms. Heard neighbors and people walking outside room throughout the night
The staff were friendly . Good breakfast , good pool noisy aircondition
Clean rooms, hardwood floors, really good price for the clean updated rooms, fantastic included breakfast (not just your average cereal and toast... We had sausage, pancakes, eggs, home fries, cheese grits, etc.) No elevators, ice machines were far away (downstairs, around the corner and behind the building), shower only
Breakfast and Pet friendly Service and price.
It was clean, clean & most of all clean! Close to tram pickup. Housekeeper showed up at 8:30am!! We miss you seed it every day we were there. Check out is 11, why is housekeeping coming so early when we're sleeping?!
Plane was delayed by 7 hours. I get a phone call from the hotel offering a refund for my first night. They didn't have to call, but they did. No other service (car rental, etc) that I had reservations wouldn't give me a refund, let alone call to ask if I wanted one. Front desk folks were nice gentlemen. They respected all my requests and were cheerful to be around.
The complimentary breakfast provided was very nice, even had fresh fruit! The location was a bit out of the way. We like to walk everywhere so it was a bit of a walk to get to the "old town" section of St. Augustine, maybe a two mile walk?? If you don't like walking a taxi ride is inexpensive, about $8.00 one way from the hotel to the "old town", we chose this mode of transportation at night.
The pool was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The breakfast included things like chocolate chip pancakes and cheese grits. The staff at the front desk was friendly and pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay here!
The staff was outstanding & very helpful the rooms were very clean & comfortable
Great, friendly & helpful staff...liked the touch of a server for the breakfast!
Staff very friendly Ad was very misleading. Expected to be on the ocean and we were 1/2 mile away. Ad stated poolside which was a big joke. We could see it from our room way across the parking lot.
So close to the beach, fairly quiet, not real busy, dogs allowed on beach, fun watching them!!Area was nice and clean, room was very efficient, perfect for is! Restaurants a little closer,we walked a lot!
Staff was really wonderful! Helped with everything in a friendly pleasant manner. A little far from town. No free shuttle and no on site workout room.
Breakfast was delivered to your room at a time period you selected. Breakfast items were very flavorable and tasty (but there were limited choices). Staff was very friendly. Room had a definite smell to it. They had a family with small children directly above us who were constantly running and jumping and we could hear every thump and they were up early in the morning. Breakfast choices were limited.
It was landscaped so beautifully. They delivered a warm fresh baked breakfast every morning. The bed was very comfortable . We met the owners and they made us feel very important . It was a little too expensive .
Very great service. Friendly staff who were attentive and generous.
THE LOCATION IS PERFECT AND INDOOR POOL IS GREAT AS WELL LOTS OF ANTS AND ROOM SMELLED MOLDY
Roma cleaned and people was courteous and helpful.
I was constructively evicted from my hotel room on the third day due to a bug infestation. The front desk didn't have any other rooms available and suggested that I check-out of my room if I didn't like the conditions. Management refused to address the bug infestation, and the front desk hung up on me. I was forced to checkout and find alternate hotel arrangements. The Regency Inn & Suites is dirty, rundown and poorly maintained. I would avoid staying at this hotel at all costs. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in an effort to help others avoid the circumstances I found myself in.
The lady at the front desk was very nice. The carpet was stained , right when walking in the door. The tub was dirty on the bottom, the chalk around the inside top of tub was moldy, the sink faucet was dirty covered in white iodized looking stuff. (These things lacked a magic eraser.) The bottom of the toilet, (the part from the floor up to the botton of the toilet seat) was absolutely disgusting...pubic hairs and dust covering it. I was afraid to look for bed bugs directly but I don't think there were any after catching a glimpse accidently. It was very hard to sleep at night because of all the dirty. One may ask why didn't I all for another room or go somewhere else, well....it was during Daytona 500 which the events last two weeks, everything was full. I did call and talk to a manager and she said they had just got a new staff and were spelling to make things better.
Near the water. First room had roaches second left us covered in bedbug bites. Management doesn't care and refused to speak to me. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Clean smelled good You need to add some flatter pillows to the rooms
We liked the bed, the tv, the bathroom, room was nice and roomy and clean. Left my sandals and they actually kept them for me to pick up... We didn't like the blow dryer or that we did not have an iron and ironing board in our room. Breakfast would have been better if you had eggs and bacon, and waffles.....
Right across from public beach. Perfect. Salt life next door for dinner and drinks. Front desk personal is #1. So nice and helpful. Strong chemical cleaning agent smell. At least you know it's clean.
Not much of a breakfast. Didn't prepare or respond for my Kayak initiated request for a roll-away bed, but only after I initiated, said I needed to speak to someone else. Kayak seeded to be doing the better job. Written in the previous dialogue box. Working only with an iPad here.
We have stayed several times over the years. We love the price and closeness to the beach and handyway.
Location within walking distance to beach I would have liked eggs with breakfast
The fact that beach is right acrossed the street . Accommodating when asked for a late check out although it cost 10$ for each additional hour. The rooms have a very strong Odor. At first it's chemical like a cleaner but then you realize it's wet feet or socks. Breakfast was bad waxing donuts and pastry
Very clean and updated. Good location between beach and downtown. Pool area very clean also. Staff very friendly. Very small room. Difficult with small children, no where to sit other then the bed. Limited parking. Very close to main road so it's very noisy at night. AC unit cuts on and off about 500 time a night and is also very loud.
Room was clean and bed was comfortable .They also had a nice pool . A little further to the beach needed you take the car to get there
Upon checkin I stood in lobby for greater than 20 minutes with no one in sight. Once an employee finally arrived I asked if everything was OK and she acted like I had done something wrong! She was very rude. Also toilet clogged up during stay they told me no one was available to fix it for me to come to lobby to get a plunger. Does anyone work here?
Love the location. Comfort and clean. A/C wasn't working properly, too much noisy.
Rooms were clean, tiled floors throughout, friendly staff
Rooms were kept clean. Pool area also clean and well kept. Short walk to beach. Good small Continental breakfast. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.
have always felt welcomed and well attended to when have had questions or asked for special service
Very friendly staff, clean rooms, had a frig and micro in room (we used frig to store food brought), nice location, restaurants walking distance (also gave us discount for), grocery nearby, beach nearby, it was perfect for us! we didn't take advantage of the breakfast (we have gluten free persons, no items for them) but we expected that
good for the price and good location TV was too dark and I couldn't adjust the brightness
What a surprise this stay turned out to be. For an older beach motel, I wasn't expecting nearly the quality of stay we received. The room, pool, location, ease of access to everything, and cleanliness was superb. We will definitely stay here again. Continental breakfast was minimal but acceptable. I would recommend the addition of a sweeper vac in each room to keep the sand under control on the nicely tiled floors.
It's...unique! The 'Kitchen' was a disappointment. Other than that, it was ok
For an old motel, this was a real find! Remodeled, clean, comfortable and spacious. Had that retro beachy feeling. Very short walk to beach and pier on river where we had drinks and dinner on the water. Publix right across street to stock up on supplies. Door mats to catch sand inside and outside doors would be nice. Complimentary breakfast was ok. Fresh fruit would make it better.
Location is secluded yet close to everything! Pool heater was not on the day we stayed. It was too cold to swim in the pool.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
We loved the location! And the size of our room! The spa tub was a plus as well. Could have been a bit cheaper but we loved it here.
Clean, quiet, comfortable. Great location I wish it were cheaper : )
This is my second stay and I just love it. It is a quirky hidden treasure with a great location, affordability, fun decor, and helpful staff. I plan to return again and again.
Love love LOVE the retro renovated charm of this little place! Super-cute '60s beachy decor just steps from the beach. Rooms differ, but ours had an awesome mural, half kitchen and pink and green tiled bathroom. The staff was extra-friendly and helpful. Loved the old-school color tile in bathroom but it is small (they have options with jacuzzi tub). Our room had a shower stall with no tub and little counter space to place toiletries. Water pressure a bit low - but still very clean and cute! Will return!
Very charming , clean and friendly ! (Hotel Employee), who was working the front desk, was very welcoming and gave us so many tips on what to do on our stay. Definitely be back !
Room was very clean. Excellent location within walking distance to beach and restaurants. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Maybe they were short-staffed. Nice breakfast but they were very slow at replacing food so that at times they were out of nearly everything.
Very cute, quirky motel!
The Super 8 motel is a good value as it is so close to be Saint Augustine fishing pier and beach. The complimentary breakfast and comfortable furnishings made for an enjoyable visit. Lack of a safe and dirty carpetting.
For the price paid this is perfect. Stayed there because was going to a show at St Augustin Amphitheater. Room was clean, pretty big and comfortable. No amenities. Close to the beach which we went to before and after our stay.
Price is reasonable for location. Rooms were less than clean and staff was less than responsive. We had to chase geckos around our room to which my girlfriend found no humor. Desk manager could not have cared less.
Closeness to beach Nothing
Close to Beach. Staff is not very friendly. Don't get much for money .
Staff was exceptional, room was clean, overall good valued stay. Even got some drama downstairs and across the way from another guest yelling that was kinda sad and funny at the same time (until the police promptly arrived within two minutes). Excellent location! The beds are a bit hard, but very clean.
Location, right across from St John's Pier They charged quite a bit more at check in than reserved for, stated oh well nothing we can do but cancel your reservation with no refund and all other hotels in town are booked. Shady practices.
Large rooms peaceful Only one ice machine
Same lady every time. Quite unfriendly Unfriendliness
They had an ice machine Keep looking ...
The phones didn't work. They were old disgusting and extremely dirty. The showers were filthy to the point where I had to shower with flip flops on and avoid touching any part of the bathroom. The icing on top is that it says continental breakfast and there is only coffee. I've stayed at motel 8 better than this.
location firm mattress/great sleep 1960's style slightly tired feel
Minutes from Activities downtown. Price was reasonable. Room was clean but bathroom needs newer tile, sink and tub. Old rust stains in sink and tub. But, since we were out of the room most of the time we didn't care that much. Manager kept nagging us to check out before 11am so he could do the laundry. That was annoying. He nagged us 3 times. It was 10:15am. Being asked repeatedly to leave before 11am ck out so he could do the laundry and clean.
It was inexpensive, had a great location and the staff was excellent. The shower has low water pressure, with cracked tiles and the room was dated in general.
Nothing rooms were dirty and beds were broken
Staff was very nice and helpful Facilities were dated and room had a smell. Mattress was stained.
Location. Was close to historic down town. We had to call desk to have fresh sheets put on bed as they had not been changed since last occupant. TV was very old and worn out , color was almost non existent, and remote only half functioned. Beds where worn out. Pillows where flat. Bathroom door had hole in it and lamination was ragged at bottom of door.Cracked tiles on floor and cigarette burns in fiberglass tub. Pillow case had cigarette burn hole. Towels where worn with holes in them. Swimming pool was filthy and needed re surfacing. Generally unusable.Wall lamps looked as though they had survived a few knock down drag out fights and where totally askew. This motel was way too pricey for its condition. It should be closed and remodeled.Press-wood furniture showed signs of flaking at the bottoms indicating a flood at some time. Room had an overall unpleasant smell that we where able to remove with a can of Lysol spray. Close restaurants where far too pricey for the food they served. The one we tried we ordered the Caesar Salad that they attempted to grill! The Romaine lettuce looked like it was putrefied. We did not stay to eat it. The salad was the least expensive item on the menu and was $8.00. Absolutely not worth even that. We used to enjoy our stays in St. Augustine however the city has now installed parking kiosk meters. $6.00 to park for a few hours or $10.00 to park all day. We think we have made our last trip to St Augustine.
Hotel was dirty and out dated . They never came to clean the room or to restock toilet paper .
Location close to interstate, gas, food & shopping. The tv was old/outdated, no fridge or microwave & the breakfast was 'limited'.
The bed was somewhat comfortable There were roaches, people smoking in the hallways, filthy rugs, smell of mold. Overpriced. Absolutely horrible avoid at all costs.
One of the lowest rates, very confortable bed and breakfast is included. Despite stated as non-smoking, the whole hotel smells smoke.
Little balcony Vending machine was broken
The price compared to other 2 stars hotel was good. Room was clean. Acceptable for the price.
No extra charges at check in/out. When I arrived there were 5 police cars in the parking lot handling an "issue".
Close to my destination Too noisy after dark. Lots of construction workers roomed there and often sat outside late, talking.
Great staff the tv was very outdated and had problems with it but eventually i fixed it.
Price & Staff BADLY in need of so many cosmetic upgrades I don't know where to start. Grouting in tub, paint, AC unit cleaned, wall paper, floors,~~~~
We got in at 1:30 am. and left at 8:00 a.m. They held the room for us and off we went. I called to let them know that we were going to be late and they said that it was okay.
nothing didn't have room we were suppose to Sex offenders live on the site and was not told I had 3 children with me and they kept staring at them not a good place Office staff was rude when I asked a question Would not recommend this place to anyone
The staff were WONDERFUL! Very friendly, helpful with directions, getting us the correct room (smoking with micro and fridge.) Sure the Inn is old, but so were we! Our room was clean, the beds comfortable, the continental breakfast was good-muffins and bagels with condiments. We brought our own coffee pot, and didn't try out the pool, but all in all, had a terrific stay. Kudos to the staff, again...There's a DQ and a diner type restaurant within walking distance, didn't eat there, but it looked as though it did a good business, and provided burgers and complete meals. We would have appreciated a coffee pot, but that wasn't a big deal since we brought our own.
The front desk was able to quickly resolve a reservation mixup at our advantage. The AC fan was very loud.
Completely remodeled and new. Rooms are on the smaller side but clean and updated. Very nice staff. Delicious breakfast.
It was close to downtown, within 7 minutes. Shower was broken. No TV signal. Old fashion TV. Dirty room. Smelled weird. Maids tried coming in unannounced. Unpleasant Staff. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. In fact, I left and had my hotel refunded. I bathed in the sink, due to the shower problems. Dispiccable. I would not recommend anyone to this hotel. It was just awful. Not even worth the cheap amount. You get what you pay for, I guess. I rather spend another $20 on a Best Western.
This property was pretty much what I expected for the budget I had allowed myself. The room was reasonable, clean and didn't smell of smoke. The bed I used (2- bed room, only needed one) was comfortable enough to sleep in. The TV, shower and bath facilities all worked as expected. I read some negative reviews of the property before I came and, while I'm sure those who wrote them had legitimate gripes, I understood those with a negative reaction had the most vested interest in posting a review. For me, the hotel room is not the destination. It's a facility in which to keep my clothes, take my showers and sleep. This room provided those requirements in a most efficient manner and in no way less than expected. This property is at the intersection of a somewhat busy highway and a very busy interstate. Moreover, my room was on the second level and faced that very busy interstate. I was lucky that, as a seasoned traveler, I pack some ear plugs. I usually don't need them but the first few nights here I definitely did. Nothing will interfere with your efforts to sleep like the sound of a semi jake-braking on the highway. My one other serious dissatisfaction that was not a great issue was the housekeeping staff. My room was supplied with enough towels and bedding for two persons and it was a lucky thing because none of it was replaced until the next to last day of a 5 night stay. My bed was only made the second and next to last day, used towels were not replaced on that next to last day and the trash was not emptied until the next to last day. I didn't eat in the room so there wasn't any trash that might have become an issue but I think the house keeping staff could step it up a notch. However, I would stay here again.
