The building is beautiful in a great location. Very comfortable and cosy room. Excellent food in the restaurant and a nice Finnish sauna.
Calm, Food, Service, ... the whole hamonious set! Cannot think of anything negative
A very generous hotel: very good room, excellent food, good price for the half board, good wellness center, free bike use, free card for area cable cars. Very pleasant staff. Free internet only in the lobby and not in the rooms.
The staff was extremely hospitable and competent and made each guest feel as though he/she were the focus of their attention. Their kindness over every small thing was simply fantastic. We felt incredibly welcome and pampered. The facilities were also great, as was the food. And the setting is amazing. No bad points.
The friendly and very professional staff, the atmosphere and decor in the hotel, the superb buffet breakfast
I especially liked the high quality of my room: sufficiently spacious with plenty of storage space, a useful writing desk/table, comfortable chairs, and good lighting. And the buffet breakfast was wonderfully varied (although I found it odd that I saw no butter from your land of dairy cows--only margarine and cream cheese to put on rolls and bread). If I drove away for an hour or for the day, I was concerned about finding a parking place when I returned. But I always did.
Service, silence, excelent and typical swithzerland breakfast and the pianist playing christmas songs (christmas evening).
Very friendly and helpful staff, everything was professional and well maintained. The environment is magical in winter and the staff made our stay wonderful. We enjoyed the personal and welcoming attitude.
The hotel was clean, pretty and the food was excellent. Location was superb, just minutes away from many walks and right in the centre of the town opposite a beautiful river and near a lovely church and bell tower! The hotel is right in the middle of the town so parking is limited. There is a limited choice of restaurants cloase to the hotel, many being part of other hotels and they close very early - some as early as 9pm. While we were there there were some road works opposite us and they were very noisy which ruined the tranquility of the area a bit and the hotel staff had not menitoned / apologies for this on check in.
The gourmet restaurant and the pianist woud be considered more than 4 stars. Some of the staff at the restaurant, the porter and the maids make a good job. Limited in size rooms/baths for 4 star.Poor behaviour by the owner/mgr that deals with problems by avoiding client asked contact, even by phone.A few CHF more is more important to him than building a client relation. He has a long distance to go for 4star management service. To pay for a Dbl de lux more than the rack rate I believe it is illegal.
Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Room was too close to church bells which rang all night. Car had to be garaged which was costly and difficult to exit/enter. Bar was not well light and not staffed or used. General lack of communal areas/
very comfortable, big and clean room, delicious french cuisine with nice price in half pension.
breakfast I did not feel like staying in the mountains, apart from the bedroom, with wood and nice decoration, the lobby, living rooms, dining room were more similar to a city hotel than a mountain hotel.
It was good access to other villages. In short it was center. Like the quaintness of the town.
Friendly service, quiet area, still within easy access to St Moritz
clean hotel the reception staff
friendly staff, excellent breakfast, wonderful sorroundings
A quirky hotel with excellent facilities for outdoor activies and inclusive use of chair lift Breakfast experience reminicent of school dinners. Coffee machine not working. Top bunk was not guarded.
Everything, lot of activities
Extreme good location & sporty atmosphere
It was a unique experience. The concept of the hotel is great; it encouraged us to do something active ! The room was stuffy, and everyone had a hard time sleeping. I didn't really like the party atmosphere in the hotel;there were two teenagers in the public showers having sex.
the beds are very comfortable
Difficult to say as we were only there over night but this Hotel is clearly geared towards Cyclists/Skiing/Sposts enthusiasts. A very futuristic building. Here you are in the middle of the Swiss Alps with Huge frosted windows obscuring the most fantastic scenery. Shame.
Manager spoke to us in the bar inviting us to have dinner the following night in their retaurant... very personal touch. The conceirge explained a different way to return to Milan that he thought we would enjoy... copied maps and marked speciifc sites we should visit... above and beyond what I would expect no
The spa faclities - swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, were very good and provided a relaxing environment after a day out walking in the surrounding countryside. The staff also were very helpful, particularly the concierge who made excellent recommendations for my stay and the reception desk who responded well to my requests. Initially I was concerned about the hotel's distance from the centre of St Moritz but the bus service makes it very accessible and the situation of the hotel is quiet with very good views. The restaurant appeared to be monopolised by those with half board arrangements and not appropriate for those like me who were only staying for a few days. The alternative eating place, the pizzeria, had a limited menu for my gluten free diet.
Provide Gold Card for free bus, cable car and train transportation. 90/100
nice bathtubs no ac
The room was actually a great size and not too small at all for a couple to stay in. We quite liked it. Were were just there for 2 nights so maybe for a longer stay some people would like a larger room. The breakfast buffet which was included in the room rate was amazing! Nice pool and hot tub as well. The hotel was not right in St. Moritz which would be my biggest complaint, but I did not that when booking. Champfer where it is located is very small and not much was open in the evenings so there wasn't really much to do. We were also younger than most couples at the hotel. We are both 30 and the average age would be in the 50s I imagine.
Of the three hotel staff that I dealt with, one was cold and indifferent and the second outright rude. The room facilities were very basic. The location was not convenient.
Paul @ reception could not do enough for us he was wonderful, plus the Pizzeria Restaurant was lovely.
Value offered for price paid
We booked for two days, but I pick a flew, and it was veryold, wanted two stay only a day and had to pay for the booked time.
The stafff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities (ie pool and jacuzzi) were very good and well used by guests. The buffet breakfast was excellent, plenty of variety. Jus one thing to note, that you really need a car to stay at this hotel because it is a little way out of St Moritz.
Breakfast was too good. Hotel location is very romantic. Location is far from Station.
Location is ideal.
The location was good, and the restaurant was quite good. The room was nice and very clean.
The ham for breakfast
Comfortable & warm. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Good access to ski lift and buses.
Service in the restaurant Bathrooms in bad shape
The room was large and airy, nice bathroom There was no terrace and parking was tight
Nice and friendly hotel, not too big and placed very well I have nothing in mind - so - no
We liked the large clean room with a balcony that looked to the snow mountains. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with a good choise of fresh food. fab walks to go on from the door. no
The good and friendly breakfast service. The room was not smart divided and was too dark to give a joyfull feeling at arrival. It was no room to have a cosy, sociable stay in.
Compared to other hotel on our trip this was expensive and not as good value although addiquate
The hotel is in Bivio through the Julian Pass, ie. lost in the Alps - magic location. The chef enjoys gourmet cooking. The staff friendly & helpful none
Nice family-run hotel in a small mountain village. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable and just the right place after a long hike. The owner is very friendly and has a wealth of information on the local area. Rooms are good and clean. Nothing
Hotel is average in many ways; certainly not bad at all, but not noteworthy in any way. Nice view on mountains and quite atmosphere as well. Restaurant could have bigger selection for meals. Had to wait most times for somebody to show up at reception, which was a bit annoying at the end.
the location was great. we had a balcony over the glacial river and looked out at the alps. beautiful. warm indoor pool. we added another night but had to move rooms. pay 5chf if you want to be able to have a table in the nice glass dining room, we did not know this until later.
I loved being able to access the torrent adjacent to the hotel. It was great to have a rope to take a dip. I enjoyed being able to play table tennis. I liked the old-fashioned atmosphere in the restaurant.
the hotel is in the middle of world class hiking and scenery. after your hike, you have the pool and spa facilities, plus an ice cold stream for dipping, if you like.
meals were small and with low choice.
Winter sports and the Engadine scenery.. Very expensive for what the hotel offers. The hotel Rooms are noisy and the bathroom (shower) exceedingly small with no separate room for the toilet. The hotel has a sauna but you have to pay to use it. We asked for some tourist information which was provided but charged while other brochures were available free of charge practically everywhere. A glass of water asked at dinner became a carafe of tap water charged, to the embarrasment of the server at 3.00 swiss francs. For a room paid at more than 300 swiss francs, you could expect something better.
Good swimming pool and whirl pool. Coldish rooms, but they have provided us with an extra electric heater. Strict and short working hours of the kitchen. Unflexible staff.
friendly and efficient restaurent service, nice breakfast and half board. Good facility for family.
The evening meal was very reasonably priced and good quality for the money. Rooms are not equiped with a TV, and there is no shuttle service to the bus stop in Sils Maria. In good weather this is no big deal, but dragging luggage 200 m through the snow to and from the bus stop was not fun. The alternative was to pay 70 franc for a taxi to come from St. Moritz. The hotel should make some accomodation for customers arriving in St. Moritz by train.
