About Crystal Cruises

Crystal Cruises offers a truly luxurious travel experience. The cruise line values quality over quantity, with just three vessels in the cruise ship fleet, five river ships and one 62-passenger yacht. Crystal Cruises doesn't move the same volume of travelers that other cruise lines do, but it offers a unique experience that’s hard to replicate.

Crystal Cruises maintain an extremely high staff-to-passenger ratio, ensuring that guest needs are met during their voyages. Unlike many luxury lines, it offers something for all the whole family also. Child-friendly menus and junior activities are offered on shorter voyages. Craft sessions, video game tournaments, magic shows and scavenger hunts keep kids entertained and in-cabin babysitting is available when parents want a break.

For those who prefer the old-school cruise experience, there's also plenty to enjoy. In fact, on longer cruises, and especially Crystal river cruises throughout Europe, most passengers are mature couples. Bingo, paddle tennis and afternoon tea are popular activities on Crystal's voyages, and the formal nights are a celebration of opulent attire.

The fleet features two cruise ships, Serenity (holding up to 1,070 passengers) and Symphony (922 passengers). Available routes include trips around Asia, visiting ultra-modern metropolises like Hong Kong and Singapore while also stopping in Cambodia and Vietnam. Passengers can take a look at the fascinating mixture of old French colonial architecture and ancient Asian tradition. A South Pacific cruise starting in New Zealand takes in several paradise islands, including Rarotonga, Bora Bora and Polynesia.

Shore excursions often include active options, such as hiking or kayaking. A unique feature of Crystal's shore excursion program is its "You Care. We Care" options. These give passengers the chance to participate in volunteering sessions, which might involve playing with local children or helping to paint school buildings - a truly unique way to interact with local culture while on a cruise.

There are plenty of options for onboard fun, including glorious swimming pools and jacuzzis, a golf driving range, ping-pong and well-equipped fitness center with regular classes in a variety of disciplines. The onboard spa has an Asian theme and offers a wide range of massages and treatments. The Crystal Learning Institute allows passengers to work on their language skills, take computer classes, or even take part in courses that teach digital filmmaking.

The newest addition to the Crystal fleet is the Esprit, a 62-passenger yacht, that takes thrill-seekers around the Caribbean, stopping at destinations too small for larger ships to reach. Geared toward a more adventurous type of traveler, the Esprit offers the chance to engage in snorkeling, kayaking, taking a speedboat for a spin, and going deep under the waves in a special submersible vehicle.

More relaxed and casual than the cruise ships, the Esprit offers a completely different Crystal experience. The Crystal Esprit offers all-suite accommodation, and although balconies are not available, all rooms have large windows. Butler service is on offer for all passengers on the yacht, and all staterooms have a coffee maker, flat screen TV and a Soundbar system for playing music.

On the cruise ships, a variety of cabins are available, including thoughtful options like "Pure" rooms, which offer passengers with allergies or asthma some peace of mind. All cabins have Wifi, Frette robes, luxury bath products, satellite TVs and minibars. Suites include whirlpool tubs, separate areas for living and sleeping and walk-in closets.

Crystal Cruises are not a budget option. These are truly luxurious voyages, aimed at travelers who want a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience thoughtful service and thrilling activities in elegant surroundings. They're a good choice for milestone birthdays or anniversaries, as a voyage on a Crystal vessel might just be impossible to forget.
