Location and very expensive SPA
The signs to get there/directions leave a bit to be desired. Check in was excellent - it set the tone for our stay. Junior suite-excellent. Staff could not do more for you - even tried out thier english!! Food (captive audience) was on the whole excellent, only one course on the second evening was a tad indifferent. I was in the catering trade and know what to look for. As a training hotel I would not fault it. Don't be put off by the 'track' leading to the hotel - it is a doddle. For the superstitious amongst us there was rather too much green for my taste and 'comfort.'
Loved the feeling of isolation - great for those wanting some time out. Food was superb - can't say enough good things about the dinner and breakfast (albeit limited) was tasty. Unfortunately was cold and couldn't use the outside pool but would be great in summer. Nothing for which it was designed.
All the staff went beyond their call of duty to make sure our stay was perfect. The shower cubicle in the first room we were given was rediculously small, so we were moved to a room with a bath and shower.
Fantastic location, lovely staff, really relaxing.
A part of The hotel is runned by gastronomy-students, this means the restaurant and the bar/cafeteria. The reception personell is very friendly and they speak also a bit english. The view over the landscape is beautiful and its very quiet because you have to drive the last maybe 6 km on tarmac/dust road to the middle of nowhere. We liked it because we knew this before. The restaurant food is of a good quality bit expensive but its the only way to eat there. The next village is maybe 10 km away. The junior suite we had was big and good equiped.Overall we enjoyed our stay in this quiet hotel very much and the price on booking.com is a good one !! The hotel guest has to pay for the Spa and this is very expensive, every item you have to pay separate and some are only open on weekends. The outside pool is big but not cosy to lay around. The breakfast is typical spanish just a piece of bread and some paté and marmelade/coffee/juice
Facilities - ok, helpful staff Did not know where anything was at hotel -no in room info
quiet surroundings need renovation
Location on the edge of the village Probably the wrong time of year to visit the region as most of the facilities were not in use
The hotel is in a beautiful location and easy to find. We used t as a transit stay en route from North to South Spain..
Large clean room, restaurant has a good menu at very reasonable prices. Hotel staff helpful and friendly but only speak a limited amount of English. Hotel is located on a fairly busy road and can be noisy. The town of Rute has little to recommend it and the area around the hotel is undergoing development. The room had very poor lighting, apart from two bedside table lights the lighting in the large room was a small wall light with two small lamp bulbs. On four out of seven nights' stay there was no hot water and the bath plug system did not work. Lighting in the bathroom was flashy but not functional. The television only had Spanish channels.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. no hair dryer and no coffee/tea available in the room.
great hotel,clean & comfortable
Garden and pool are lovely. Little playground was enjoyed by our four-year old. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walk into town. Dinner in the dining room was pretty bad, but the kitchen seemed to be trying its best.
Pretty surroundings. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Free internet.
We thought that this was an excellent hotel and couldn`t ask for a better setting, also the staff were all very friendly,we only stayed for one night ,but would certainly come back and recommend it to others.
The spectacular situation. Friendly staff. An excellent dinner Not able to get a snack when the dining room was not open. Needs a safety mat in the bath to prevent slippin
Lack of atmosphere due not enough guests due the time of year but very nice staff and very Spanish which we liked
The hotel is nicely decorated and has a friendly atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel lies very quiet, but can be very noisy on the inside. Walking and talking sounds throughout the whole hallway. During our stay there was a large group of people, who were busy talking in the central hall all night long. But this was an incident.
Welcoming. Very relaxed . Its a beautiful location which would be even better when the weather is warmer. Enjoyed an excellent bottle of wine with dinner. The room was very comfortable.
The dining room was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast there. There are nice patio. The noise outside the room vibrated at night bothered me.
The staff were very good. The breakfast was average. The evening meal was excellent and very good value
The hotel was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff were very pleasant and courteous and were very accommodating regarding guest requests.
Mainly it's lakeside location with a fantastic across the lake and of the hill top village of Iznahar. The room size was more than adequate which in our case included a view down over the pool and patio area. The bathroom was well designed with additional room for storage. Car park and wi'fi included was a bonus The swimming pool was in a bad state. It had obviously not been cleaned and was therefore not safe to swim in. In October there are those that want to swim and my wife was one so that was disappointing. Also by comparison with other 2/3 star hotels we stayed in during the previous five days the breakfast was not good. At the price though it would be churlish to complain. No fresh fruit, cakes or choice of bread rolls and juices. One of your reviewers remarked on noise from other guests permeating through the centre of the hotel into the rooms - true. There was group of cyclists enjoying themselves until late
Lovely setting, friendly staff and good food. It was a very relaxed and comfortable stay with wonderful views of the olive groves and the lake.
