Pros: Great location, beautiful swimming pool and wonderful staff.
Cons: N/A
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The room was very well decorated and confortable
Cons: When we arrived we were asked to pay at once, not even a welcome word was said before you need to pay. We were asked if we would have dinner in the hotel and we answered yes because there was no other option and the next village, which is supper small and we did not even know have restaurants is 15-20 minutes away in a small and narrow road. When we said yes to the dinner that was only one dish available, pork... we asked if any alternative was possible and we got bacalau... felt they were doing us a great favor. The worse part was the spa. There were dirty dishes in a corner (many! probably from a party in previous days) and the place smelled bad and was not clean. At the end we received charge in the bill for using the spa, unbelievable! Also the dinners and drinks we had while there were over charged, very expensive.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good sized, clean bedrooms.
Cons: Construction work, starting very early in the morning. No option for breakfast.
4.6 Okay
Cons: Don’t let the name ”Quinta Solar da Portela” fool you. This is no Quinta and it is no Solar. This is a Motel next to the road with a restaurant with the same name. The pictures do not tell a true story. Nor do you hear the dogs barking outside all night preventing you from sleeping, or the workers starting the generator at 8am to continue the noicy work on the Motel extensions. Clean and cheap rooms are the only good things about this place.

Pros: Miguel is a very friendly and helpful host. He advised us on restaurants and nice towns to visit in the area. The B&B itself is very cosy and warm with comfortable rooms and nice breakfast. The town is very small, you have to drive somewhere else for a restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa da Tita is one of the nicest guesthouses that we’ve ever stayed. It consists of two building: one with several rooms & apartments & the other with additional apartments, the reception & the dining room. Both: private and common spaces are nicely decorated with old items & old furniture or new ones but fitting to the rustic style. There is also a swimming pool, 1,40 m deep so reasonable for swimming. We chose the Granary Apartment. It consists of two rooms: the first is primarily the kitchen with a fridge, a cooker, a microwave oven, an electric kettle & a coffee machine using delta-discs (provided daily). Dishes and cutlery are also available. There is also a dining table & a single bed (though dual usage of the room as a kitchen & a bedroom may not be that comfortable). In the main bedroom there’s a big & comfortable bed, a wardrobe & a desk. This room is airconditioned, there’s also a TV. In the bathroom there’s a big walk in shower; we’ve never experienced any shortages of warm water (what was the case in some other places). The room is cleaned daily, what is beyond the standard for such guesthouses. Before the arrival we got the list of various activities, from sightseeing to visiting the local diary; one can participate if wish so. There’s variety, so virtually everyone can find something interesting for him/herself. Some are free, some other paid but usually little. Upon arrival the owner was waiting for us to provide all necessary information & offer a welcome drink (of any chosen kind), he also accompanied us daily during breakfast a&chats with him were always a pleasure. The breakfasts are very decent, beyond typical products like cheese, ham & cereals there are also some local products, fresh homegrown fruits & homemade jams. We found the location convenient for us, as the place is peaceful & quiet. It’s located in a small village next to a local road with little traffic.
Cons: There’s virtually nothing that one can complain about. One has only to take into account that reaching Casa da Tita without a car (or a bike or some other own transportation) may be difficult as only few buses daily serve the village, while the closest shops and restaurants are 5 km away in the town of Salir (in Nave do Barao there’s only one small coffee bar).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: What's not to like about this place! Host Miguel is so nice and helpful, always there to have a talk, give advice and poor a refreshment to drink at the pool. We've only been here 1 night, but we we're treaded with a wine tasting and a fantastic homemade cataplana. The building itself breaths history and personality and the rooms are very comfortable and modern. We will definitely come back someday :-)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A very welcoming host who offers guests more than just a room! Restaurant recommendations, activities in the area and cultural and historical insight are just a few of his offers. The room was rustic, but fitted out with everything you need. The breakfast includes homemade treats and delightful conversation with the host and his father. We were greeted with a welcome drink and sweets and left with a small gift of liquor and herbs from the garden! Just an incredibly enjoyable stay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Miguel is really a nice host who is willing to show you a lot of the local craftsmanship in the neighbourhood. Beautiful surroundings with nice panoramic views and biodiversity.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Miguel is a great host. He is very kind and helpful which made our stay really nice. Always ready to share about his country and very professional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a perfect little B&B! Very friendly and good English speaking owner and his gentle sweet father, who both made you feel very welcome. The breakfast had everything one could wish for and the room was perfect. Good beds, a TV, nice decorations and even a make-up mirrow, You will not want for anything more during your stay there and if I ever will be in the area again, I know where I will be staying again ! All the best for this charming little hotel !
Cons: Do not change anything, please !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the room and how it was decorated. And the welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was good and Miguel is a good host. He prepared everything very well. Last day I had an early checkout and he gave me a breakfast for the next day. Thank you for that! The liquor that I received as a souvenir tasted very good. I would book the place again.

Pros: We enjoyed very much our stay. The house is very cosy and is situated on a little hill in the Alentejo-region . The vue is wundeful and nature is all around. . The host was very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Realy a place to stay and enjoy.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was OK.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The apartments are very nice and new. The breakfast basket is very sweet, maybe the hosts could ask what is our yogurt flavour preference (everyday we were given different flavoured yogurt but never the natural flavour). On our check out day, we got to spend the day at the pool and the owner was very nice to bring us fresh homemade lemonade free of charge
Cons: We arrived at 20h to the location and found the gates closed with no one. We were informed that the check in had to be at the restaurant however we were never given an address or the name of this establishment. After a call the owner asked us to meet at their restaurant “Campo Castro da Cola” where we ended up having an amazing dinner. It would help to have more checkin information.

Pros: Stunning... so much class in every corner of this house
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so nice, the view was amazing , I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a get away from the city, you have the Mira river two minutes away by bicycle where you can do kayak and believe me you never heard silence like you do when you kayak in the river, it’s just absolutely beautiful. Paulo the owner was extremely nice and accommodating, he brought breakfast to us every morning always ready to make your stay more enjoyable. Muito obrigado Paulo! We will definitely be back!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the pomegranate house, it was very comfortable and a good size for two people the bathroom was spacious and modern, the cottage is very stylish, and it had good tv reception and English speaking channels. We enjoyed the pool and sun beds and there is an excellent traditional restaurant nearby popular with the locals which specialises in traditional local food. The restaurant can also prepare and deliver meals to you We had a basket of food delivered to us every morning with such a huge choice for breakfast that there was always enough food for a packed lunch too. It was very relaxing, and both the bedroom and living area had air con so it was easy to keep cool. We stayed five nights and enjoyed it. Perfect if you want a quiet relaxing time by the pool. There’s a couple of mountain bikes available free if you want to explore the local roads and archaeological sites and feeling more active.
Cons: The kitchen area is small just two heat plates a microwave, coffee maker kettle and a small fridge, it’s fine for preparing light meals salad etc but not for any major cooking. There were some problems with the solar heating of the water, and the guard dog on the neighbouring farm was annoying barking at night. It’s quite a distance to drive to places of interest. Apart from the Neolithic/moorish site on the nearby hill which was interesting, the other archaeological sites in the area are difficult to find and the information centre for the sites which should have been open was closed for two weeks. Keep doors and windows closed at dusk and night if you don’t want mozzies in your room with you.
