The breakfast was a pleasent surprise!
Its very pleasant, quiet location alongside the river in a village setting. The size of the hotel gave a homely, informal feeling conducive to relaxation. The room for breakfast had a very pleasing outlook over the river. Nothing really. One had to go out for an evening meal which is an observation rather than criticism.
We found the it had a wonderful atmosphere and very helpful staff and reasonably priced Happy with everything.
location and city as a whole, the mill is charming
It was extremely clean and well maintained in a very quiet atmosphere. Breakfast was also very good. Staff very receptive.
Good location. Convenient to Mont St. Michel.
Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings, good location room small and a bit smelly, needed a good airing.
Pleasant view of the hotel matching well with its surrounding I liked the best nothing in particular
Parking We arrived at noon, found the hotel door closed and a sheet of paper stuck to it saying come back at 3:00 PM, or something to that effect. Rung the bell (nothwithstanding the "for emergency only" sign) and did open. We were able to leave our lugagge, but had to leave and were reminded check in was at 3:00. We understand that, but there is a difference between checking into your room, and finding a closed hotel before that hour.
A beautiful hotel with a friendly, helpful staff. My only regret is that we were there but one night.
The proprietor was very nice, the setting beautiful, the room special. It was relaxing and had a very warm feeling throughout.
Welcoming friendly staff. Very clean. Tastefully decorated and newly renovated. Large rooms with large comfortable bed. Superb location - short car trip to Mont St.Michel and Normandy beaches. Great value for money when compared to similar priced accommodation we experienced in France. Would certainly recommend.
Lovely hotel. Rooms are very comfortable and personalized according to different themes. There's also a very lovely garden outside for enjoying breakfast. The breakfast selection is very limited for 9Euros hence I didn't take the breakfast. I would have thought there would be something hot that can be ordered as well alone with the cereals and breads.
Beautiful building, charmingly decorated and spotlessly clean
Very comfortable room, excellent grounds and friendly staff.
the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. breakfast was excellent and served in the cozy bar. and our room was delightful.
very pretty decorations and furniture. beautiful building
The hotel is beautiful and the owner was most helpful. She spoke English and was able to reserve a dinner and taxi ride(her husband) for us. Breakfast was most satisfactory . Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The rooms are too small for a couple
The room for 5 was huge! we definitely weren't cramped, and everyone had a place in a bed, not a pull-out couch. The breakfast also had a lot of options. The staff was friendly, though at first they kept saying I didn't have a reservation on the phone (I have a complicated name, hard to spell, especially in french). It overall was a great deal, not lush, but very good for the price
Good welcome from staff, very helpful and spoke some english. Room comfortable and very clean. Restaurant good value. Not that easy to find. Pushed a bit off the beaten track by new road construction. Did not see any signs, until nearly there. Google Earth has two hotels!!! It is also confused.
Convenient for Mont St Michel and Avranches Beds are really really hard
Staff very friendly and very efficient. Room fabulous for young children (family room), definately above and beyond a basic hotel room. Husband had mild food poisoning after eating a two course evening meal at the restaurant. Real shame as so impressed otherwise.
The cleanliness and the comfort of the room.
We stayed at the hotel as a stopover on the way back to the ferry at Caen. It was perfect for a family as we were in a family room for 5 which was spacious and clean and it was situated minutes from the main road network. We were able to drive 15 mins to Mont St Michel for the morning before our journey to Caen.
Well situated in town centre
We stayed in the new detached building 400m up the hill. It was fabulous, like staying in someone's newly built mansion. Awesome new design and technology, and an indoor pool. Fantastic.
Good location. Nice distance from Ferry for first night stopover.
Good room for a family Internet not accessible from room, only lobby
Good location in the town, bistro and bar excellent. Could have better car parking facilities.
Good hotel for a few nights. Good location to stop on the way to the south.
Location Only part of the rooms are newly renovated and we were two couples who reserved two superior rooms. Only one renovated room was given which did seem to be a superior room and the other room was rather old. I got the wrong impression from the web site. Expected more.
Convenience of Access Not Applicable
The restaurant was fantastic a very high standard of food and the staff were very friendly and helpful particularly with French / English translation!
Convenient, prompt service, easy parking Poor lighting in rooms, rather dated, "pink and chintz" decor in public areas.
Good restaurant, warm room (winter stay)
Staff pleased to help A bit dated. Food expensive for the quality
Breakfast was good room was clean easy to book Bed was to firm
Smiling welcome anda good breakfast
it was clearly marked on the road - easily found
Functional, fit for purpose, clean, well located, easy parking. A bit bland (rooms could do with a little colour). Hotel entrance unilluminated at night and quite hard to locate.
the convenience of it's position, tea & coffee in the room. The menu was restricted to starter buffet and dessert buffet
Standard Campanile little changed. Fair value only.
The accommodation was clean and good value for money.
Perfect for an overnight break on a long journey. Food was excellent and good value. Rooms were clean and provided everything - though perhaps rather small for a longer stay. Will definitely seek out Campanile hotels again.
reasonably easy access for ports. food excellent
Very close to Le Mont St. Michel Very difficult to find this hotel in spite of using a GPS. The coordinates aren't exact. There is a road D-43 and lack home number.
Helpful staff and spoke English if needed. Easy to get to and findNo englis No English chanells on TV.
Nice dinner, great value
A Very Good Breakfast is Served. Bed Propped Up on Bricks
let us bring our dog for no extra charge, great breakfast for €6
The manager/owner was very helpful and attentive to our needs, and the room was very clean and comfortable.
The location is very good.
i missing there fridge in our room....
Helpfulness of the staff
this hotel is valued for money and good as a transfer point to mont st. michel. simple but comfortable. the staff was nice and got me a double room upon my request. the corridor is a little bit dark at night.
The best hotel on my way. The best care, no problems at all. Nothing
easy to find in avranches. good parking. near town centre decor rather old and 'battered', otherwise very good value
Despite my room apparently wasn't renovated for years, it was very clean and quite comfortable. The linen and towels actually had very nice scent, which is not that common for the hotel in this price range. Very good value. The breakfast was quite poor as for 6 EUR per person.
The room was spacious, as was the bath/shower room. The hotel was convenient for the town centre. We were given a room facing the street, so it was not as quiet as we had hoped.
Old but nice hotel in the centre, near to Saint Michel by car. Non profesisonal staff - horrible waiter in the canvas shoes and jeans...
Friendly staff, correct service, very good price for a 2 star hotel. Nothing more, nothing less. New joints in the shower tiling, would make the bathroom look much neater.
Friendly staff who could recommend activities in the area. Hotel prepared and delivered an excellent salad that we could eat in our room while the kids were in bed despite the hotel not having room service. As we have young children, we booked two connecting rooms which was convenient. Location was in the centre of the village. We stayed in this same hotel 7 years ago and it was already very dated and old fashioned. Nothing has changed in those seven years so the decor is awful, the bathrooms are a bit grim and the shower did not drain properly. The mattresses were also saggy. Hotel needs a revamp to bring up the standards. It is officially a 3 stars probably because of the pool and restaurant but furnishings and decor make it more or a 1-2 stars.
Price, ambience, parking, Skipped breakfast as it did not offer jambon, fromage, d'oeuf....shame. Unable to get caraffe of wine at dinner - only served bottles.
Lovely atmosphere as not too trendy pool wonderful surprise No towels available for pool some of decor shabby breakfast could have been more extensive for 7 euros
nature and hear the dunky in the morning. :)
Extremely friendly hosts who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We really felt they could not do enough for us. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was good with really good tea making if required. Good lift. I think there may have been a plumbing problem as there was a very unpleasant smell on our corridor on arrival but this quickly disappeared. The carpet fitting on the first floor corridor looks a bit untidy.
Very friendly staff and the excellent restaurant prolonged the opening hours just for me as I arrived late. Outdoor pool was not open. TV in room was small and did not work very well. WiFi did not work.
Very freindly and helpful staff
It had parking just outside. It was dreadful. Cold, dirty and the food was very cold. I told them that my room was cold and they said 'Sorry, nothing they could do, it was the fault of the woman who cleaned the rooms, who had forgotten to turn on the radiators'!!!! Perhaps its better in summer, although I have my doubts. People were sitting in the restaurant with coats on!! In any case as well as freezing cold the room was not clean and was badly laid out... the sink, toilet and bath were all inside separate rooms (3 different places)
They were very welcoming on arrival and assisted me to get a parking space as dinner guests were due to leave shortly. No complaints
Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent food and wine. Lovely setting beside the river and close to the centre of the town
Very comfortable bed and good soundproofing against street noise (excellent double glazing!) . Could have been noisier if weather had been hot however, as room on front of the hotel
the quality of the seafood cooked and served. Staff so well mannered and responsive very small car park - only large enough for three/four cars - we had to keep having to find somewhere to park out in the main street
Welcoming staff, clean room
It's easy to find and they speak a bit of English. There are 3 garden rooms. A bit small, but clean and equipped with big mirror, bath and hairdryer. Location is excellent if the weather is nice (which was not when we were there). Room smells fustiness and that's why the door is open when you arrive. Taking a shower in the bath is difficult as they don´t have a really shower. The carpet in the bathroom is not the most hygienic floor cover. No English channels on tv.
The rooms were very adequate, with comfortable beds. The extra pillows were greatly appreciated. The setting on the Selune River was extremely pleasant, and the hotel's proximity to Le Mont St. Michel very handy for our stay. The room decor is somewhat tired-looking and in need of updating.
Very pretty little village.
A lovely hotel in a quitessentially French location. The surrounds were absolutely beautiful and village shops and cafes within an easy walk. The Garden Room is a lovely room, however if the weather is warm it can be a little difficult to get comfortable as it only has a little window above the door to open to let any breeze in..... The room does however open onto the garden which is a pleasure to wake up to. I'm sure there would be a fan available for you to use if you felt to uncomfortable.....
I wish we would have stayed there longer. Great little town with friendly people and fantastic food.
It provided a bed with clean sheets, blanket etc. A wash basin in the room. The showers and toilets along the corridor were clean. The only problem we encountered we could not use the one and only plug socket in the room. Our English adaptor was too big to fit in the space so therefore we were unable to use our computer. Could have done with a kettle for tea or coffee.
This hotel is really basic, but that's what we expected from the description on the website and the price. The rooms and beds were clean. There are shared toilets down the corridor and though they were clean there was a slight smell, probably from lack of windows. If you want a cheap overnight stay near Mont St Michel then this one is really easy to find. Personally I would say one night would be enough for me, but if you're travelling on a tight budget Formule 1 is ideal. Corridors were a bit airless.
I liked the cleanliness and layout of the hotel and did not mind the shower and wc outside the room as they were only a few paces away, and were clean 24/7 due to the automated ckleaning systems. The manager was surly
