Wi-fi connection was poor and failed to connect to most sites I tried to access for my work.
The site is very pleasant Room was cold an could not be heated properly. The room was noisy from outside street noises as well as being near the lift which was also disturbing through parts of the night.Very few of the staff spoke english
Excellent staff, beautifully finished hotel, restuarant food to be recommended. Beautiful bedroom but bathroom a little cramped
The hotel was amazing. Magnificent old building which has been sympathetically restored and converted to a luxury hotel.
Relaxing and comfortable supported with good staff and excellent facilities The sofas in the atrium were more about image than comfort, but this is a very minor gripe.
Superb staff service and outstanding cuisine in a sensitively restored historic building affording luxurious comfort. It even has its own secure parking. Nil.
Beautiful hotel. Magnificent building. Very centrally located in Haro. Bedrooms were really spacious and wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay in Los Agustinos. Staff very helpful No.
Garage fee of just 8 euros was reasonable and close to hotel.
The building was quite attractive, but it lacked the magical atmoshere associated with these kinds of hotels in Spain. Some of the staff should learn how to smile, it means a lot to guests.
Position for centre and a unique hotelgreat for fiestas Battalla del vino in June.
excellent location in beautiful city poor food quality much below expectations
The building and ambience Difficult to find and entering the square.Clear mud maps necessary
Wonderful setting right next to the cathedral and close enought to do a fantastic wine tour at Marques de Riscal
lobby is spacious and good atmosphere
We have stayed here many times when we travel back to the Uk on the Ferry from Santander.Very good all around!
Great central location opposite cathedral, free parking, nice lounge area in mediaeval hall, bright clean room overlooking the square Service ok, but a bit institutional
Lovely setting in historic town centre. The Parador benefits from secure (underground) parking and is right next to the cathedral. It provides an oasis of calm. Like all paradores this one doesnt serve evening meals until 20.30 - far too late for many northern europeans. Fortunately there are splendid restaurants nearby.
Old historical building in the center of town next to cathedral, good breakfast Unfriendly, even arrogant staff, the hotel has been of a v good standard 20 years ago, today it´s not on the level as expected, dark rooms
We have stayed many times at this Parador - always clean and comfortable.
Strangely a part of a petrol/gasoline station, through which you have to enter it, but this assures 24 hour staff (for late arrivals, safety of your car in the car park etc), and so in practice is actually a good thing. Hotel only built in June 2010, so brand new furnishings, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Small café/restaurant is great value for money and actually had one of the best tortillas I have ever tried (savoury continental breakfast Eur3 pp). Excellent childrens' playroom also (Ikea shoppers will recognise the contents well). All in all, extremely good value for money, and I'd stay again if passing through Miranda de Ebro. On the outskirts of the town, so not great for city breaks, more of an overnight stop when driving from Madrid to San Sebastian or France for example. Looks like there's a brothel just down the road, but far enough away for comfort. Staff were a little quiet and slow especially in the café, but that tends to be the norm in Spain as a whole anyway.
The Hotel it's self, along with the location was first class. This was the fourth Parador that we have stayed in, and both my wife and I thought that this was, possibly the best. The food was good, and the staff were polite.
A typical parador, with the ambience of a historic building and excellent food and drink. Slightly expensive.
The building, the service, the room, the staff, the restaurant, exellent. No.
Atmospheric and comfortable with good food nothing
The decor in the traditional Spanish castle style. The food was Spanish and excellent which was what we expected. Porterage was poor but it was a Sunday onnwhich we arrived
Very peaceful and calm. Would have liked some local information. Some friends had stayed previouly and had told us about the wonderful Cathedral containing the Cockeral ! We would never have known otherwise.
Design and interiors - renaissances style, hotel's bar - variety of tea, nice vine list. Location - rather quite place, not in the tourist area, but still rather near. The room was a little bit small, but comfortable. Very fine and expensive windows. Please take away awful lithographs over the beds. Besides they do not match at style and the colour palette used in the room.
Fantastic hotel in rural, off the beaten track Spain in the heart of Rioja country. Exactly how i imagined a parador to be. Good choice of typical Riojaian restaurants in town. No
Very attractive hotel, nicely furnished in keeping with fact that it used to be an old monastry. Good restaurant - and open Sunday evening! No door directly from car park into hotel - and it was snowing.
Great menu and dining experience and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cafeteria was very basic (although the restaurant was nice), bar only open late at night
Good location and good restaurant; friendly and helpful hotel staff. What was very important for me, I could find them for check out very early in the morning (at 5.50 a.m.) without any problem. Very noisy. You can hear any movement in the coridor and people were returning back and clashing doors during late hours.
The use of the elevision and the A/C The noise of the beds on the floor whenever you moved or sat on them.
excellent value for money will stay again
Reception staff were very good. The breakfast arrangements were chaotic and the food available was very poor and nowwhere near the standard of the hotel.
The evening meal was excellent Our room was west facing which made it very hot on arrival
easy to find. good stop off on return to Bilbao ferry
the room was very quiet away from the lift.
Close to town centre Noisy electric supply box and heavy water leak from airconditioning unit damaged my documents on the desk.
Hotel staff at reception very friendly and room was lovely The cafeteria staff were quite rude. Although I dont expect people in Spain to all speak English, I felt no attempt was made to try and help us when choosing from an all spanish menu. The bread was stale, the meal was horrible and the staff rude. It put us off the hotel which was a shame as we both thought it was a lovely place until visiting the restaurant.
All hotels are more or less the same these days, but we have been staying in this hotel for the past 2 to 3 years now on our way between our homes in the UK and Spain. Nothing.
The friendly efficient 24 hour bar-restaurant was excellent after an 8 hour journey from France The hotel would benefit from better signposting from the motorway to the industrial estate, and to the site itself. We arrived (with GPS) but could not see where the hotel was.
Excellent Size room for a family of four. Good air-con system (only works with Key Card in room but your get two key cards). Underground Secure Parking Free of Charge. Very quiet due to excellent double glazing - (right next to major Truck Stop and not far from Train line but could not hear a thing!! you could of heard a pin drop!!!!) There was restaurant next to the Hotel which was good value. All beds were very comfortable, even for the kids who are real fussy!!! Will be using again.
Because it is located in the middle of an industrial estate it is really more of a motel However the room was huge and very nicely appointed. It was fine for an overnight stop on a long journey. Just the location
Location and service
Clean, good location, ideal stop for driving up from southern Spain. N/A
Clean comfortable and more than adequate for an overnight stay Nothing
The feeling of space, the relaxed atmosphere and the cleanliness
the best nights sleep for a long time
The atmosphere in the viiage of Brinas and the winws available in the district make this a good place to stay, it is full of charatcre Not relly a complaint, but the bar was not open!
Liked the old charm, good breakfast, helpful staff Initial room was a bit pokey but we were switched to larger room at no extra cost
peaceful location only restaurant in village was very bad
The hotel is in a beautiful village of old architecture and the hotel had lots of character and was very clean and had an excellent breakfast no
The bed was quite comfortable. The location was quite simply awful! The little town was pretty but closed on arrival. There was nowhere to eat or even get a cup of coffee. The hotel offered limited food and was reluctant to serve drinks in the afternoon. The room was reasonably clean however the beams were covered with dust and the bedroom floor was dirty. The staff on arrival were very unwelcoming. The location was atrocious as there was a horrible block of flats in front of the hotel. It was the worst place we stayed in Spain. Simply awful! And overpriced.
staff very hospitable, despite their lack of english or our lack of spanish.
Have stayed at many such country hotels in Europe and this is above average. Very quiet and relaxing after a day touring. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some street signage in the village directing the location would have been helpful.
We loved the little touches that made the hotel so unique. It succesfully blended comfort, luxury and history. There was an occassional drain smell from the toilet. There were no real English speakers, but we managed to muddle through with lots of hand gestures!
I didn't die there was a major bed bug infestation and I got bitten all over. The staff refused to help. The wireless internet didn't work and the staff, again, refused to help. The one computer in the lobby had about as many viruses on it as there were bed bugs in our room...
We loved this hotel! We had a superior double room which had a huge spa bath, was very spacious and overlooked the village square and monastery. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful historic building with beautiful traditional decor but also offers modern comforts such as a lift and free internet access. It's ideal as a base to tour round the picturesque villages and do wine-tasting at the many vineyards close by. I'd recommend a visit to the Marques de Riscal Hotel in Elciego, to see the amazing architecture designed by Frank Gehry who designed the Guggenheim in Bilbao. They don't do evening meals, but this was only a problem for us as we arrived during the village fiesta when restaurants were all booked up!
The monastry is beautiful and it was great to stay in a small town. Haro was only a 5 minute drive and it's close to the mountains (half an hour) and in the middle of the wineries. Would have been great if the hotel staff spoke a little more english but they were still helpful and friendly
The accommodation was wonderful, very quiet, beautifully restored. Internet did not work in the rooms, only in reception lobby, but was not a problem.
Ambience, standard of breakfast & delivered to room on request, standard of accomodation Surprised not sign posted in village
Beauty of the hotel, quality of the welcome and generally high quality of attention from the staff, location of hotel, breakfast, international channels on the tv. 1. Wi-fi did not work but computer in lobby did. We weren't sure at the time if the problem was in the wifi or our computer. Now we know it was a hotel issue. 2. bed mattress uncomfortable--springs poked us. Same problem in most hotels we've stayed in on this trip to Spain. Good foam mattress is a better way to go. 3. bathroom sometimes smelled unpleasant We did not bring these issues to the staff's attention
The hotel was beautiful and very romantic. Near good places to eat. Staff was excellent. Because of the thick walls internet access in the rooms was not available.
A very charming Inn in an old monastery building located in a small village in La Rioja. The old architecture and murals make it a special place. Nice buffet breakfast included in our rate. Only 5 km to wine tasting in Haro and tapas scene in historic Sto Domingo. Free parking on streets nearby hotel. Olympic-sized town pool with free-entry courtesy of the hotel is a two minute walk and was a great outlet for our seven-year-old.
staff very pleasant, location calm and beautiful, food great
Decor of the hotel is outstanding and so is the location. Great base for exploring the Rioja region. Excellent restaurant, both the breakfast and evening meals were great. Highly recommended!
Wonderful host. Excellent restaurant. Very nice ambiance. The hotel is quite echo-y. This makes the rooms a bit noisy at night.
i like best the hotel itself and the staff excellent assistance
Beautiful, cosy, taken care of hotel. Helpful staff. One of the two receptionists spoke no word of English and did not come across as very friendly. Hotel does not allow children below age of 16, but right next to it there is a playground where you hear kids cry and shout all the time. Smoking at the breakfast tables is allowed.
The hotel is newly refurbished from their family home, tastefully redecorated As it is family ran business, the service is not very professional... but good price... spa is not working... casual food served at the hotel but not recommended.
