it was not clean enough, old blankets
Dinner & Breakfast OK. Staff service was good. Parking secure. The room and ensuite facilities were very substandard and poor value.
Good points - Clean room with a tv, kettle and bathroom. Friendly staff. Easy check in - out. Good location from motorway for overnight stop off. Minor bad points but only 1 coffee sachet per person in the room. disposable plastic cups, kettle lid was damaged and door lock required a degree in safe cracking.
Staff were all friendly and did their best to understand our poor French. Food was excellent and much better than we would have expected in a similar establishment in the uk. Perhaps a few more sachets of coffee, milk etc should be left in the room. We only had enough for one cup each.
Ok No teletext on TV
Excellent meal helped by being able to eat on the terrace outside.Usual Campanile facilities but a few new+ different touches. Newly decorated. Fab comforatble bed. Staff excellent as before.
Rooms are too small and prison-like. The restaurant is not comfortable, the food is ordinary and very basic just about everything
Easy & clear access from motorway system: quiet & secure for our overnight stay None
The motel design, the convenience to the motor way system and the friendly staff
ease of use and excellent staff, the food was wonderful it was a little too cold in the bedroom, and the heating did not work
The room was fairly standard, but quiet & comfortable. The highlight is the restaurant. Very stylish with a great dining experience. A bit pricy! At breakfast we received a very warm welcome and found the staff (the manager in particular) to be very helpful and friendly. There are individual garages available as well as plenty of on site parking. Whilst it was a great evening in the restaurant, it does work out to be expensive. The rest of the hotel, whilst good, does not live up to the price you can end up paying.
Excellent hotel with a friendly, helpful staff. Dinner at the restaurant is a bit of a surprise, good for some, not so good for others. The cuisine is experimental and playful, but is a bit of a shock, for instance, to receive a plate of chicken covered with what appears to be soap suds (and weren't).
Pleasant welcome ( in English ! ) by reception in spite of late hour. The rooms were not comfortable, outdated and worn furniture, needs some renovation. Do not justify the price.
beautiful old restaurant with sumptuous fitting and style courteous and helpful staff memorable meal at resonable price the room was a little basic and dated no good mirror of hairdrier for my wife to dress for dinner
The public areas of the hotel were very attractive. They also have a nice garden with plenty of seating, a swimming pool and free parking on site. The breakfast, although a little on the expensive side, was well worth the money as the components were of such good quality and so tasty with plenty of coffee. There was an expensive restaurant attached which we didn't try - quite a few options in town and no problem parking there. I would not recommend the standard rooms. We had one. The classic decor of the bedroom was ok and comfortable enough, but the bathroom and toilet looked as though they hadn't been updated since the 1970s. There were holes in the tiles where some pipes had been removed and no shower curtain round the bath. The separate toilet smelled of damp and urine. It's a long way into town so you have to use the car.
The directional signs to get to the hotel were very helpful. The room, although tiny, was adequate and clean. The hotel restaurant was pretentious and over-priced. The menu was like reading Chinese--extremely fussy and complicated. Only my husband's menu had prices--how archaic! My escargot were wonderful and my husband's morel ravioli was great. Beyond that the food ranged from so-so to inedible (I'm not into undercooked chicken! The sommelier was the only person on the staff who seemed to have any warmth and grace. Kudos to him! They need to concern themselves more with the quality of the food and service not the pretense.
The pleasant atmosphere of the hotel; outdoor terace, swimming pool...
Pleasant stay in la Chaumiere.
The hotel itself was ideal as a stopover en route to the Alps. Pretty room, nice staff and good value. Too far from the town centre and restaurant was incredibly expensive with the set menu unavailable on Fridays and Saturdays.
The friendly staff and the efficient service. It had an excellent restaurant (although very expensive over 220E!) Had it not been the last night of our holiday we would have found somewhere else to eat. The photos on your website are of very modern bedrooms not of the room that we were allocated which was very dark, old and in need of a little tlc. It was also very uncomfortable. There was no mention that some rooms had still to be renovated on the website. I was very ipset to find a used plaster on the bed cover!
Friendly staff and very clean albeit fairly basic hotel where the bathroom was quite well equipped and everything worked
I stayed in room 206. The bathroom door handle fell off when I closed it on the inside.Luckily there was someone on the other side to open it.A single traveller would have been locked in. The shower head was hanging off the wall and the toilet seat was loose and broken. Not very good at all.
Very friendly staff. ideal place to say over for a night.
only used for travel stop
Leaving in the morning. We arrived in the afternoon and could get nothing to eat. Also the owner had been smoking in the bar, as you could smell it and there were butts in the ashtray on the counter. When we asked could we smoke, he said the bar was a no smoking bar...... It was also cold in there, the doors were open wide. Presumably to keep the smell of HIS smoke out, which did not work, but did keep us out.
Exeptionally friendly and helpful staff Wirelss internet performance marginal
Room was on ground floor near reception and therefore a bit noisy. A bit impersonal.
Cheap, easy to find.
The swimming pool. Very relaxing between two days of car driving
Close to centre /easy parking
no comments The whole place was vert tired and run down, in need of refurbishment. The description of location was also miss leading.
Closeness to the town center. Was able to break our journey to the Alps and have a couple of walks around what is a very traditional little town. Enjoyed a good meal out. Good if you want to be closer to the town than the normal budget hotels. Also can get the 3 teens in one room. Apart from the location a little disapointing, but for the price, probably no more than you should expect. Why the constant smell of cigarette smoke in corridors? and lights that left you in the dark every 10 seconds?
Nothing No restaurant the carpets in the halls and on the stairs were dirty
Only 3 minutes on foot to the historical center of Dole and 5 minutes by car to both motorways.
Good for overnight stay on a long car trip
Breakfast was good. The door to the room didn't close properly. So they put an additional door behind it. It also had a heavy smell of cigarette smoke upon entering the facility.
near city centre, continental breakfast sufficient parking only on street. no ventilator on a summer day with over 35°C heat. Rugs and curtain grey from street smog.
Great location for a stopover hotel
Perfect location in Dole, a beautiful, compact city.
Cheap. We were able to sleep the whole family It was a bit tatty.
Booked 3 rooms for my family, for our outward and return trip. Two doubles and a quadruple. Our age groups were from 4 months to 65 years. The rooms were clean and warm. The staff were very helpful, even gave us a kettle from their kitchen so that we could heat water for the babies milk. Although the Hotel was closed for boxing day we were able to retain our room keys from the outward journey on the 18th December. There were no bad points. But a kettle and makings in the rooms would be very good. Even if the prices were a bit higher to cover the cost it would still be good value.
