Nice location in the mountains with decent views. Breakfast was very good. They had a nice selection of movies to entertain our son since the pool was closed. Both the pool and restaurant were closed during our stay (pool due to rain and didn't realize that the restaturant would be closed mid week). The heater baseboard covering was loose and every time the bed moved it would rattle the heater.
Owner was very friendly and personal. He worked with us for a late check in. Beds were comfy. TV was crap, really grainy image with lines across the screen. Not a big deal tho since we spent most time outside. Bathroom door didn't close or lock.
Just great people who run this place, and, being relatively new owners (this is their first summer), they're around all the time and very generous, helping with my travel plans, extending breakfast a few minutes, offering coffee to take away, etc. Most importantly, though, this place just has a clean, great, retro vibe. None of the fancy, new off-gassing generic decor. Real wood dressers and desks, vintage photo prints, etc. But also with some newer rugs and colorful walls in common spaces. This place hasn't been "let go" -- quite the opposite. New owners seem to be restoring and putting lots of love in it, even new TVs. A great yard and view -- you can even BBQ there, or just lounge in the comfortable chairs on the covered loft. It's a wonderful place, and very affordable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. What's not to like? You know how they say, "When in Rome..."? Well, when in Vermont, stay at a place like this, rather than finding some big corporate chain hotel full of generic furniture, views of overlit parking lots, and employees who turnover every 2 months.
Cute motel in the Vermont woods! Stayed for one night in the budget room, small and older but perfect for the price, can't beat it! Would definitely come back to stay again if skiing in the area. The staff is very very friendly and accommodating!!

Super friendly and accommodating staff.
large room. nothing
We booked the cottage, so the 3 of us had lots & lots of room No curtains on the kitchen window & the shower didn't look very clean (or maybe it was just water stains). It also appears that they're new owners & doing lots of renovations because there were all kinds of things outside & all around the property.
Super clean and good value
the location the first room they offered was directly over extensive roof work actively in progess. second room was so moldly smelling we could not stay in it. third was better.

Liked the small cottages
Very friendly and helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. Extremely comfortable bed in an unusually large, spotlessly clean room with a wonderful view. Both are exactly like the picture on their website! I'd be very happy to return. Noisy footsteps from the child in the room above. Is this the only motel in the U.S. without coffee maker/kettle in the room?
The staff did not contribute to find any positive aspect for this place Very aggressive, rude and impolite staff, not respectful of guests
The staff was awesome. Their suggestion truly contributed to my great foliage trip in VT. The room was really nice and I will definitely recommend this inn to anyone!
The Timber Inn is a great deal if you're going to Ludlow to ski Okemo. It's just a mile out of "town" (Ludlow is pretty small), but there is a free shuttle to the mountain and free van shuttles to take you to and from restaurants (or you can walk across the street to Sam's Steakhouse) so it's all very convenient. The rooms are nice, nothing spectacular (the TV's are almost antiques), but they are very clean and the shower was wonderful - endless hot hot water and good pressure. The proprietor was very friendly and recommended some great local spots for dining out, and made it very easy for us to get checked in very late at night. As stated earlier, the TV's left a little something to be desired (the remotes don't let you adjust the volume - you have to get out of bed for that).
owner was great, got us a good deal on lift tickets price should have been about $40 a night less but like said above in question 1 it would of been if I had delt with owner directly
The rooms are comfortable with WIFI and cable TV. I was happily surprised with the microwave and refridgerator. I will go back there just for that. It is just right on the main road so there is traffic noise. It was nothing that was a deal breaker.
The beds are comfortable. There was no coffee maker in the room.
Location is just down the road from Okemo. Also not a bad little view of the mountain from all rooms. Clean and comfortable for the price point. it could use some updating but it works.
Price was great, about a 10 minute drive to Okemo. It was an older hotel but everything was in working order. It's a great place for a ski trip on a budget.
Not much The beds were both broken and in horrible shape. The carpet on the floors was half coming up the floor in the showers was in very bad shape. The entire place smelled like mildew. Then they have crazy hours for the hot tubs you can only use it from 4p-8p. In my opinion it was a waste of money I will never stay here again I hope no one else does either no
We were in the area to visit family, and it happened to be during the horse show, so prices at every other hotel/motel were hiked. This was a reasonable price and it turned out, comfortable accommodations. The rooms are dated, but our room was clean enough and pet-allergen free enough to accommodate my allergies. We requested a room where pets are not allowed. The beds were fine, the bath and room layout were excellent. We had a double vanity separate from the toilet/bath and curtained off from the sleeping area. The pool was closed while we were there. It was hot and muggy and would have been nice. There was torrential rain one night and the parking lot was flooded. The rooms never seem endangered and the lot was cleared of floodwater within a few hours, but it was dramatic at the time. I was also concerned that there was no dead-bolt on the door. It is rural Vermont, and they seem to take these things more casually. We felt very safe otherwise.
Beds were terrible. Decor and facilities were appallingly out of date. The breakfast buffet had a bag of white bread & cold cereal, a bowl of unappealing fruit, and little else to tempt you to stay. Sitting in a room last furnished in 1982 with green astroturf also did not appeal.
