Pros: This is really place with GREAT potential for good peaceful stay and rest. Calming view, silent environment, far from city/road noise, nice pool, property surrounded by olives and wine (that is rural area). Spacey rooms, really good kitchen, quite sufficient bathrooms. We were enjoying it for first 10 days (of 14 of our stay). It could be really ideal for families with kids who are looking for safe and peaceful place to stay. Worth to mention is care and hard work of lady who takes care of maintenance (host's mother in law ), and we are very grateful for her efforts.
Cons: Last 4 days of our stay, because of extremely noisy guests in another apartment. I need you to know that this was 20 years this year since we started visiting Crete. We were on Crete 10 time since then and we never had such a case even though we were been in different type of places (hotels, pensions, apartments, villas). And my average rating of properties we had been on Crete is far above 9.0 - mostly 10.0 (if booked via booking.com) I just think that hosts need to inform upfront customers what the rules of stay are, and ENFORCE those rules if necessary. It is of course a host decision, who is to be a target customer: - families with kids or - young reckless yuppies behaving like full of amphetamine at night. But you can not have BOTH. It is simple choice, and clearly announced rules in property description would filter out the other kind. It would help to avoid plenty of disappointment for people like we, who have just TWO weeks in a year for rest and recovering and 30% of it is ruined. I rate "comfort" as minimum just because last 4 days ruined all comfort. I rate "value/price" as minimum because I would not go there for free if I knew what is gonna happen. Hosts are really nice people (maybe too nice?), they declaratively were on our side, but it did not help enough. I was ready to move after first noisy night, but host ensured me that noises are going to end. It did not happen, and last night was a nightmare :( My advice is - if you are lucky person - give it a try, who knows, it could be really great. - if you want to be sure - rent BOTH apartments. I am really, really sorry that rating of our stay is like this as the place itself is really nice. :(

A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The breakfast was pretty good, everything you need for a good start in the day was available. The staff was always supportive and very friendly. The Villa was very clean and with modern comfort, the own even though small pool, was very relaxing and the location represents a good headquarters to explore the western part of Crete.
Pros: Very pretty setting and friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The location is not great - one needs to drive for at least 30 minutes or more to get to a beach or a nice restaurant. The room was nice but basic and in need of maintenance. It didn't feel like good value for money.
Pros: The beautiful location fresh air and Cretan friendliness, the cats, the views service and food. Amazing location for hiking
Cons: A shame about smoking guests
Pros: Nice boutique hotel with good facilities and an excellent restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient. Location inland away from the more commercialised aread but convenient for the New National Road so easy access east and west.
Cons: When I was booking the place I wanted a place with a balcony as advertised. I didn't get one. But the one we got was nice and clean...but I wouldn't book that one if I had a choice...
Pros: Friendly receptionist. That's it.
Cons: The 'villa' Dioni was a one room box, semi underground. The pictures on the website have been heavily photoshopped and have parts of other villas included to give the impression it is nicer than it is. All villas are a considerable way away from the actual hotel location with Villa Dioni being a good vertical / steep walk. Do not book if walking is an issue and you don't have a car. The room (as it's not a real villa) had a leak. It was dank smelling, dark and and furnished extremely cheaply. Like a 2 star residence. However it was the most expensive out of the two bookings I made for my trip to Crete. The air con is not effective even after spending time waiting for them to get up to full effect. The WiFi does not work at all, neither does the phone signal. Which means you have to walk to and from hotel which is a good 5 minutes walk down and uphill to get assistance or signal. We were offered a hotel room to in place of the villa after I complained. The hotel room air con was no better and the room whilst bigger was not equivalent, no tea/coffee facilities either. 10% discount was offered yet I still would have paid much more money than the prices for the same hotel room advertised on bookings.com and the hotels own website. I did not bother to check in or stay, I had to find and pay for another accommodation instead. So me and my left after being there 1 hour or so. Spilia refuse to refund the full costs it took even though they have throughly misrepresented the properties. It nearly ruined my birthday but thankfully found a better place to stay. Do not book. Absolutely a con and they will deny anything is wrong just to keep your money.
