Great location with lovely view of Port Isaac. Room had balcony overlooking the harbour. Room on the small side. Bathroom very small.
Draughty windows in our room (Number 15) No parking near by.
Nice hotel, friendly staff and great location in the beautiful town of Port Isaac. Lack of parking
Excellent location. The small room we had directly above the kitchen. Lots of flies. The price
Staff very friendly and attentive. Food in restaurant excellent. Did not realise we would not be in main hotel and we could hear humming from what sounded like extractor fan as we were above the kitchen.
The location and the views, the friendly local people made it such a good place to relax and enjoy the weekend with friends.
Central to a very picturesque village. Characterful hotel right on the bustling quayside. Having to park ones car at least half a mile away at the top of a very steep will be off-putting for most people, particularly like me, with a blue badge invalide pass for my car. As for the restaurant, it was fine for breakfasts but we thought the quality of the food we had in the evening was extremely low standard. I did complain and received a discount from my bill but we ate elsewhere for both lunch and evening meals where the quality and price were much more favourable.
The location was fabulous, service was good with excellent breakfasts. The room was small but totally functional with a modern design. Great fun navigating the car down the steep lanes to hotel - the no parking issue actually became a positive giving a steep but pleasurable walk up to the car park with great views of village and harbour. Very basic and scruffy bar area catering for day visitors with outdoor open area - great if the weather is good but limited facilities if not. The resteraunt was expensive but no different to the other 3 in the village.
Good location ,op. The Harbour , in a lovely coastal Village , now very crowded due to tv show filmed there (Doc Martin) . Staff friendly and , mostly ,very helpful . Hotel answered emailed questions quickly , pre arrival . Difficuly access to a Very small room , with no view . Problem with flies one night , no fly spray . Expensive meal . Lack of parking in the Village , except at low tide ! , a real problem , but that not Hotel's fault , I realise .
The bathroom facilities in the room were of a high standard. The room was clean and comfortable. Excellent safety advise given when checking in. Location was great. No Defined Check in point, had to walk through bar. Breakfast service was slow, however the food was nice when it arrived. No parking near hotel.
Food excellent. This is a pub first and the hotel is almost an afterthought. 5pm. check in is ridiculous.
Very good welcome Nothing
Good food, excellent ale, friendly staff, very clean, wonderfull shower, and the bed was so comfortable I didnt want to get out of it. Breakfast was superb and not served too early. There were no bad points
Car park, hairdryer, and hot breakfast Booked and paid for a double room with a shower and a bath, received - twin room and shower only. No explanation, no apology, no refund. Totally unacceptable. Also, the night was freezing cold, yet no adequate heating, with temperature controls removed. Spent the night shivering in layers of all the clothing we had.
Nice size room, quiet, friendly Serious problem getting hot water for bath. Had to fill from shower which was not that hot. Although others in my party had no such problem.
It is a very quiet pretty property, I was glad to have a small bar lounge to have a relaxing drink and a snack before dinner. The price we paid for the room was extremly high for what was clearly a standard room.We booked a premium room but when they realized that we were two sisters and that we in fact wanted two beds, they downgraded us to a standard room but premium rate.It also took us over an hour to find the hotel, we were compeltely drained and fed up. Apparently people always get lost trying to find it.
Quiet, relaxing, friendly staff. Limited vegitarian evening meals.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices. As a business customer, 8 a.m. is late for breakfast. Perhaps if I had asked they would have cooked an earlier breakfast.
When we arrived he had no record of our booking and the rooms were filled. He directed us to a hotel across the street and we stayed there. He was very cordial and said if we were unable to stay there, we could come back and he would call and help us. He had no record of our bookings.
This YHA has an excellent location, it was very easy to do the coastal walk from Boscastle to Tintagle & then return on the bus. It is a very clean & attractive facility. The manager is very efficient & friendly. We phoned the day before & she was able to accommodate us to leave our backpacks while we explored for the day. Although we did not use the kitchen to prepare food, it was very well equiped and well organized. I would recommend YHA Boscastle to anyone.
A very freindly and relaxing hotel would definitly return and recomend.
It was great, friendly staff and excellent gardens. The manager couldn't have been more helpful regarding BOOKING.COM's complete mess up of the booking (see below) Never book through booking.com. When we arrived, they had no record of our booking. Fortunately they had a spare room for us that night (the love shack - result!) however the manager had to spend the next hour looking for another hotel for us for the Saturday as they were fully booked for a wedding. How could you lose the booking????? !!!!!
The bed was very comfortable. Limited selection on menu not unless you want fish. The hotel was a little bit over priced i thought.
Everything you need here, from coffee in the morning on. Any problems quickly dealt with, and if not, explanation why not. Wonderful position on clifftop. Quiet. None
The friendliness and location
Beautiful location and views, very quiet and relaxing. Great restaurant, lovely food, especially fish, and stunning terrace for dining. Breakfast was good, cooked to order.
Position was very good for local coastal attractions, food was excellent staff very helpful and pleasant, gardens very well looked after a quiet and restful hotel.
The location to the coast and countryside was superb.the gardens were lovely. The hotel did not keep up with the information given in the guide.
Fantastic friendly staff, peaceful location (only good if you have a car)
My dietary needs were well catered for. The owners were attentive and welcoming without being intrusive.
Proprieter welcoming but not intrusive. Quiet, warm and clean
The room and ensuite were excellent with bottled water provided as well as the usual tea and coffee making facilities, not to mention the packet of Cornish biscuits! It was easy to find and parking wasn't a problem. Breakfast was served in what amounted to a corridor so space was at a premium.
Quiet location within easy reach of amenities, unobtrusive hosts, just enough and not too much breakfast.
very clean and helpful staff. We would have preferred a bedroom at the front, because we were the only people stopping there, and we would have liked a better view, rather than at the side of the bed and breakfast.
Comfortable beds Staff indifferent
The scenery Noise from the party downstairs on our first night
Everything was superb from the food to the course fantastic
Very pleasant surroundings...ambience and great facility
scenary Bed - matress too hard
Excellent location for touring north Cornwall coastline, the room was excellent and the price was excellent ... and I've already recommended it to someone who, unlike me, is a keen golfer and will appreciate the golf course as well as the location.
very enjoyable stay, great value for money
Comfort of room, exelent food. Bowood Park is set in a lovely locatin and has easy access to the West Coast. We found the walls a little too thin.
That in the evening we could just relax in the bar or restaurant. Friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed everything. No comment.
the cleanliness of the room was second to none the fact that the supreme double bed appeared to be two single beds pushed together and if this was known i would have booked a standard double bed
