Comfortable beds Staff indifferent
Comfort of room, exelent food. Bowood Park is set in a lovely locatin and has easy access to the West Coast. We found the walls a little too thin.
The scenery Noise from the party downstairs on our first night
the cleanliness of the room was second to none the fact that the supreme double bed appeared to be two single beds pushed together and if this was known i would have booked a standard double bed
Everything was superb from the food to the course fantastic
Very pleasant surroundings...ambience and great facility
Excellent location for touring north Cornwall coastline, the room was excellent and the price was excellent ... and I've already recommended it to someone who, unlike me, is a keen golfer and will appreciate the golf course as well as the location.
very enjoyable stay, great value for money
scenary Bed - matress too hard
That in the evening we could just relax in the bar or restaurant. Friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed everything. No comment.
The friendliness and location
Everything you need here, from coffee in the morning on. Any problems quickly dealt with, and if not, explanation why not. Wonderful position on clifftop. Quiet. None
Position was very good for local coastal attractions, food was excellent staff very helpful and pleasant, gardens very well looked after a quiet and restful hotel.
The bed was very comfortable. Limited selection on menu not unless you want fish. The hotel was a little bit over priced i thought.
It was great, friendly staff and excellent gardens. The manager couldn't have been more helpful regarding BOOKING.COM's complete mess up of the booking (see below) Never book through booking.com. When we arrived, they had no record of our booking. Fortunately they had a spare room for us that night (the love shack - result!) however the manager had to spend the next hour looking for another hotel for us for the Saturday as they were fully booked for a wedding. How could you lose the booking????? !!!!!
Beautiful location and views, very quiet and relaxing. Great restaurant, lovely food, especially fish, and stunning terrace for dining. Breakfast was good, cooked to order.
A very freindly and relaxing hotel would definitly return and recomend.
The location to the coast and countryside was superb.the gardens were lovely. The hotel did not keep up with the information given in the guide.
The location was fabulous, service was good with excellent breakfasts. The room was small but totally functional with a modern design. Great fun navigating the car down the steep lanes to hotel - the no parking issue actually became a positive giving a steep but pleasurable walk up to the car park with great views of village and harbour. Very basic and scruffy bar area catering for day visitors with outdoor open area - great if the weather is good but limited facilities if not. The resteraunt was expensive but no different to the other 3 in the village.
Staff very friendly and attentive. Food in restaurant excellent. Did not realise we would not be in main hotel and we could hear humming from what sounded like extractor fan as we were above the kitchen.
Great location with lovely view of Port Isaac. Room had balcony overlooking the harbour. Room on the small side. Bathroom very small.
Nice hotel, friendly staff and great location in the beautiful town of Port Isaac. Lack of parking
Draughty windows in our room (Number 15) No parking near by.
The location and the views, the friendly local people made it such a good place to relax and enjoy the weekend with friends.
Good location ,op. The Harbour , in a lovely coastal Village , now very crowded due to tv show filmed there (Doc Martin) . Staff friendly and , mostly ,very helpful . Hotel answered emailed questions quickly , pre arrival . Difficuly access to a Very small room , with no view . Problem with flies one night , no fly spray . Expensive meal . Lack of parking in the Village , except at low tide ! , a real problem , but that not Hotel's fault , I realise .
Central to a very picturesque village. Characterful hotel right on the bustling quayside. Having to park ones car at least half a mile away at the top of a very steep will be off-putting for most people, particularly like me, with a blue badge invalide pass for my car. As for the restaurant, it was fine for breakfasts but we thought the quality of the food we had in the evening was extremely low standard. I did complain and received a discount from my bill but we ate elsewhere for both lunch and evening meals where the quality and price were much more favourable.
Excellent location. The small room we had directly above the kitchen. Lots of flies. The price
The bathroom facilities in the room were of a high standard. The room was clean and comfortable. Excellent safety advise given when checking in. Location was great. No Defined Check in point, had to walk through bar. Breakfast service was slow, however the food was nice when it arrived. No parking near hotel.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellant 'pub grub' , Would thoroughly recommend location. Although we do not surf, we enjoyed watching those who did. Parking was rather tricky but that was probably because the good weather and the bank holiday drew the surfers to this neck of the woods.
relaxed atmosphere, dog friendly, nice staff, nice room, good selection of food on the menu, huge breakfasts, stunning location , brilliant view from the room of the sea room was a little small for moving around, specially with 2 small dogs. over all the food was lovely but steak was under cooked 1 night and smoked haddock at breakfast was definetely not poached as it said on the menu it was micro waved, I had to send the first one back as it was actually hard, the second one was better but again not poached! The staff were very good at dealing with this though, very polite and friendly.
The staff were lovely... food was amazing... warm and made to feel very welcome... I think we would go back each year. A*
pleasent location although noise of sea prevented some sleep! comfortable modern room. Disappointed in lack of restaurant more "Pub" meals than as web site suggested. Eating areas /bar looking a bit shabby. The toilet holder was hanging off the wall in the bathroom.
The setting overlooking the sea was idyllic, the staff were friendly and the food was good The tortuous approach down extremely narrow lanes, and the difficulty of parking on the cliff edge on arrival
Despite the hotel being reasonably priced, I felt like I was truly staying in a castle. The views were magnificent and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The scenery is breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable and the food was also delicious. It seemed as though no one had stayed in my room for a while, as it was a little bit dusty!
Friendliness of the staff and family atmosphere
The best scrambled egg I've ever tasted.
Lovely hotel, excellent location, would recommend to anybody.
The whole place looked recently refurbished and felt clean and fresh. Lovely choice of food at breakfast. Someone needs to check things like the fact the kettle doesn't fit in the sink to fill it nor was there a socket to plug it in anywhere other than on the floor by the door.
Staff all friendly, lovely food and good hospitality.
unique atmosphere, lovely place and excellent food
Nice Hotel, with friendly staff food expensive, location very difficult, only way in or out is by car up steep narrow hills
Excellent restaurant and also relaxed pub with garden and fine real ale. Location lovely bedroom conversions small with much noise from other rooms. Decor needed a freshen up
relaxing, pleasant and helpful staff, good food, bedrooms and bathroom spotlessly clean
Fantastic reception, beautiful location, excellent customer service Only small bad point was the tap in bathroom. Very awkward to use - had to have receptionist show me how to use it! Apart from that all was perfect.
