nice sorroundings, quietly located in the old park,
peaceful loctaion. Breakfast being included was a nice bonus
service fine and kind
Nice surroundings and everything very neat and clean. Beds were very soft and terrible on our backs. Time they looked into the possibility of orthopedic matresses or at least the option of firmer matresses at clients request.
breakfast, position bathroom could be better
Very quiet location next to a forest, very good standard and wonderful price on Sundays.
Everything, especially the restaurant. The retaurant staff were all very nice to us.
Buffet breakfast. Free partking & WiFi. Ideally suited for business travellers. I guess the quality of the cooked meat products for breakfast could be improved.
The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was really really good. The bed in our room was uncomfortable, and there was no play ground for kids.
The staff were very helpful and freindly We did not like the twin beds and the fact that we could not make a cup of coffee in the comfort of our room due to us not having a coffee maker in the room
The breakfast outside was spectacular
Staff so helpful,beautiful room.
Good location, near central station and 5 mins walk to the centre
It was quiet & I liked your green policy The room was too cold; there were no instructions as to how to change the airco to more warm air. I would have appreciated knowing that I could check out up to 5pm on Sunday: I accidentally found this out
The front office staff were most helpful including supplying a map and directions.First class!!
great staff spoke good english, comfy bed, clean good sized bathroom, wonderful breakfast, very close to train station and 5 min. away from downtown lovely Amersfoort. We had dinner there which was pretty good and there is also a decent bar area. No complaints
Very comfortable room. Wi-fi is not for free.
the fact that the hotel is very new/functional and quiet. Staff was very friendly.
Exactly what I wanted for a short overnight stay. I arrived at midnight and was checked in promptly (note - the car park isn't immediately obvious at first sight - you have to drive up on to what looks like a pedestrian zone). Very comfortable bed, quiet room despite being next to the lift. And it was astonishing value for money (only paid about 70 euros plus the car park). I didn't try the breakfast as had to leave in the morning. Nothing.
Staff where friendly and excellent. Internet access was fast and a reasonable charge. Rooms although next to railway line are well sound insulated. Breakfast very expensive. Room could have been cleaner with old sweet wrapper in wardrobe clearly on view.
Very silent. Good service. Top class in its class
Good hotel , good surroundings and conveniently situated.
Excellent choices for breakfast The wallpaper in the room! Terracotta _ very overpowering
The friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff
The staff was very helpful, especially Dave the restaurant and beverage manager. He spoke very good english and made our stay there very enjoyable. The restaurant servers were also excellent and spent time to get to know us. It was a wonderful experience and wish we could have stayed longer.
Good location and facilities, wonderful breakfast and spacious room Lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room
The Reception staff were all friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were comfortable. We only spent two nights and there was nothing that we did not like.
Location ...easy walk to station and train ride to amsterdam. New addition very contemporary, spacious and luxurious. Breakfast was exceptional. The only complaint was the lack of electrical outlet in bathroom.
The staff were extremely helpful in solving a problem with the room that we had originally booked.
Although the storm of 18 Jan 2007 was raging outside and you could hear it in the bedroom, when you were in the swimming pool or the restaurant you could not hear any wind noise at all.
Every thing was very good.
1. I like the restaurant and the fact serene garden outside the dining area. 2. The staffs are pretty friendly for European standard. 3. Free business center 1. The hotel didn't get 'confirmation' from booking.com, but they were fast enough to provide us the room 2. However, I asked for a double room, non-smoking and I got a triple room, non-smoking. Although I didn't pay extra for the room, it sure looked crowded with the additional bed. 3. Wifi was only available in lobby and not able to connect, so I had to use the business center.
location Small Bar fridge to keep a coolfrink/water cold.
The hotel was very comfortable within a 15min bus trip to the city centre and had free parking which was great if you are travelling by car. Very friendly staff as well.
My children liked the swimming pool best. The staff were very helpful. We didn't want to have a huge, expensive breakfast, but there was no alternative.
Access with public transportation
Spacious and quiet room with big breakfast checking out took too much time, too many people tried to exit at the same time, only one staff at the desk (but she was extremely efficient!)
Friendly and helpful staff, everyone spoke English language. Good range of English and Continental food. Convenient to local shopping area.Beautiful forest and woodland walks just across the road. No
The kindness of the staff, the opportunity to relax with the wellness center and the nice location.
Comfortable bed, large room, nice swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath. Very good service. Breakfast could be better and is definitely not worth his price, a small effort could arrange this.
Comfortable and friendly hotel within close proximity to many Dutch tourist sites. No serious negatives. Shower had a tendency to fluctuate between hot and cold, presumably a problem with Grohe thermostatic shower.
Close to the golf course Breakfast in weekend in a very basic environment ,not in line with 4 star hotel
The location The furniture is a bit old fashioned in the room
Luxurious accomodations at a great price.
nice area and all rooms had balcony The train track is very close by and sitting on the balcony I felt the trains passinb by
Breakfast was excellent.
bathroom was big, nice little balcony, good breakfast buffet, and I liked the way the TV sound was piped into the bathroom
courtesy of staff, good breakfast, location of hotel mattress was too soft, no good for any back...
the food was in the restaurant small in portion and in my personal oppinion (and of my staff who stayed there as well) poorly of quality for the price we payed
The hotel is clean and new, and is located in a beautiful walking area. It's actually a business conference centre. It's huge, and seemed completely empty, maybe because it was a saturday. Hanging out in the bar we were the only customers.
Because it was a weekend, there was not so many guests therefore not so many smokers. ( I am allergic to smoke). The front desk was very nice, all the staff greeted to me when we passed by. The breakfast was great, a restaurant they recommended us to go was nice Dutch. Espresso machine was out of use, maybe the machines are there just for hot water.
Next door to where I was having a meeting the next day Lack of accurate travel information to reach the hotel by public transport rather than car. They mention train-taxis which no longer exist in Holland in that area.
Very good hotel. We stayed in the new wing and the room was clean and modern. The hotel is in a quiet foredt setting so a car is required. The hotel was not busy during the weekend.
Very nice surrounding, good breakfast, friendly service and nice rooms.
It was a lovely location. The hotel was peaceful - perhaps as it was a weekend visit. Conveniently located for exploring the area - cycling and walking. The breakfast is extensive, but could be more varied. We stayed 3 nights and the (warm) food was the same every day.
very peaceful athmosphere in a lovely setting- accommodation clean and well laid out- staff friendly and helpful- good public transport links to main cities i.e. 50 mins to Amsterdam
comfortable, accessible and in attractive surroundings. staff were very helpful. the early check out time of 9.00 am.
It was out of the city and offered a nice taste of the countryside with some class Weekend breakfast should start at least at 6:30 as many of us have business early in the city Sat and Sun
A comfortable hotel, centrally located in a small Dutch village. The hotel offers free parking and free Internet.
location Service in restaurant
very nice quiet room with free internet from a cable and a nice breakfast
Great service! Front desk folks are very friendly and helpful. We had a late check in (2am) and we got checked in promptly and friendly. They gave us great tips at the front desk of where to go (in the city and Utrecht), how to take the bus, where to buy bus tickets etc. They stored our luggage after check-in, let us park the car until we were done. Hotel is interesting, different. Room was great and comfortable, bathroom clean. Will definitely recommend and would return in a heart beat. Maybe change the carpets as they were a bit run down.
It is convenient for my work location. The rooms are basic but comfortable. having twin beds
good location the church clock within ear-shot of my room chiming every hour, 24hrs a day/night
Nice hotel, very helpful staff, free private parking, rich enough breakfast There was no computer with free internet service for public use and i had to pay 5 euros for an hour's use, even if i needed it for just 2 minutes
Friendly staff! Good breakfast selection.
location no value for money-old decoration-carpets- needs badly refurbishing lobby full of smoking people-coffee in lobby only for groups-no coffe machine/kettle in room-no doorman help with suitcase-used to be a classy hotel-
Very clean rooms, excellent breakfast and free covered paking. plenty of shops and bars / cafes in walking distance
Reasonably priced for what I got. They have plenty of free parking. If you like to walk or hike there seem to be woods all around you. The hotel is devoid of any charm, at least to my taste. It appears to cater to companies that run seminars and for this purpose it seems well equipped.
Nice location. Friendly staff Breakfast was overpriced in my opinion
We stayed at the Oud London many years before at the start of a military tour in Holland. The hotel has expanded greatly since our last stay, all for the good. The main restaurant was still the same outstandingly excellence. Wonderful food, superb impeccable service! The room was spacious, clean and the staff most friendly. We were in the area attending a reunion of military members who had served in the area in years past. A most wonderful experience! This is a great hotel from which to enjoy the wooded area of central Holland.
Atmosphere was very nice, quiet in the area... Everything was ok
Magnificent countryside, ideal for walks and cycling It was distant from the inhabited areas
Noice, international standard, with great restaurant and facilites We liked almost everything
very polite and friendly staff, they were very pro-actively supporting us to make sure that also our baby was doing fine.
Friendly and polite service and helpfulness of all staff
living in the States for quite some time now, this is one of the first nice hotels in the Netherlands that are not crampy and where you have enough space in your room: excellent!
A very nice stay with good memories: correct and friendly staff, pleasant environment
Cleanliness, free internet use, size of the room, pretty view. Location was a little far from city centre.
nice lounge and fantastic breakfast, very good price for value no airco in room
Greate atmosphere, large and nice room (triple room), well located, large grass garden at the back
The food was excellent and the service was good. For a 4 star hotel I thought the standard room was kind of very very very standard. No mini bar, an old big tv instead of flatscreen, no free wifi, plastic throw away glasses (2) absolutely no extra's.
The staff was obliging. Everything was functioning in a logic way. Free Internet.
Wonderful stay. We only spent there one night, but the room was very spacious and clean; beds (twin bed room) - very comfortable. A special word is worth saying about the rich and manyfold breakfast served in a very stylish room. We arrived late in the evening and could not find a way to close the window 100% - there was about half cm of "ventillation". Therefore in the room it was rather fresh, but the blamkets wer warm so ok.
The country side, the customer service of your staff members. No
the architecture of the hall/restaurant restaurant closed on a sunday at 9.15 pm
Very good service and nice people not in town center
Very good location in the green surroundings in the center of Netherlands, within an hour by car from Haag, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Leiden; perfect transport connections(train), charming castle hotel, spacious rooms, more than a good breakfast, a nice restaurant. Ideal if you want an active day and a peaceful evening, to visit noisy ciites and to rest in quiet countryside. The rooms on the second floor are less spacious and here you will feel the lack of the lifts.
The Hotel is near to the city but in a quiet wood so our stay was relaxing
Handwritten congratulation card with our wedding. Free upgrade to a deluxe room (without even telling us). Lovely (extended) breakfast was arranged for us, even though we were an hour late. Luggage we delivered the night before was already brought to the room. A huge bathroom with a large bubble bath. Staff is very attentive and courteous. Definitely a posh hotel! (It was just perfect)
The staff were professional, couteous and friendly. The food was very good. The hotel has great character and interest Not applicable
Very good price during summer promotion
Very quiet, beautiful surroundings, very nice breakfast We were put in a modern part, not the old castle itself, and the room was very ordinary and shower/WC room quite small for such a hotel
Quiet location, nice staff, excellent food Bathroom door did not close off properly
It's a nice old building, the staff were helpful giving direction to locations in town. Just the shower's water didn't drain fast enough, a little flood in the shower.
Lovely setting, excellent dining room and breakfast, excellent room, High price of dinner in both the bistro(39Euros) each and in the restaurant
Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Really a luxury place to stay. The breakfast was lovely and the dinning room brings you back to another time. I would love to see the hotel offer some smaller, less expensive food choices. We got to the hotel late and really just wanted light fare, but they only offer an expensive coursed meal.
Close to city center. Basic room facilities was missing in the room like; soap and big body towel.
room was clean and staff friendly, quite comfortable steep stairs to room ok for weekend
The breakfast was very good : original and wide choice Normally i always have very good experiences with Booking.com. this hotel does not belong in the list : a had a student room, cold floor (ony tiles), no blankets, shower space not clean, list of drinks but no drinks, and so on. worthless
The website could be clearer about the parking arrangements, eg which carpark to use. The carpark to use is the one of theatre Flint and then a few minutes walk.
good, clean rooms. Nice bathroom was a plus Couldn't pay with american express
Wonderful position in the charming old town of Amersfoort. Walk to all the sights and restaurants. Unable to get into our room until 3.30pm but were given cool drinks in the pleasant back garden.
The staff were very friendly and the room i had was one of the most characterful i have ever had (the building was once a tobacco factory). the location was excellent being in the old part of town and was very quiet. the lack of a buffet breakfast, you are given a breakfast and that is it. a buffet breakfast would greatly enhance any stay at this hotel.
Good city centre location with easy parking (fee) nearby. Hotel has lots of character with nice little garden with excellent Dutch breakfast. No
The service was good. The location is excellent, next to the city center. The space in the hotel room was "modest".
A good location in the centre of Amersfoort and close to the shops. The staff and helpful and friendly and the room was very clean. The curtains are a bit thin and let in alot of light.
Very clean rooms, pleasant staff, nice rural location, good Wi-Fi Duvet cover way too thin. Very disturbed sleep and was awakened many timess through cold (it was only September). No ability to regulate temperature in room.
close to the woods & all on one level The restaurant closed at 8pm
Clean Hotel Beautiful Location Walls are paper thin can hear the people next door talk and what they say
Location was just perfect for us. Free use of internet. Clean rooms with adequate furnishing. Free parking. Bicycle rental at EUR 8.50 a day. Safe in each room. The one window in the room opens just a crack. The safe in our room didn’t work for 4 days, but we were offered another room with a working safe. There is a printing service at the reception but when I wanted to use it, I was informed that for some technical reason printing was not possible. Breakfast is plenty but the variety of cheese (in the Netherlands!), yoghurt and cold cuts is poor.
Quietness, but still good location. Evening buffet very good if not so cheap. Hairdryer not in room, can ask at reception though. Evening buffet finishes early.
Quite location, non-smoking rooms only. Only very small "finding": restaurant offers buffet dinner only (but a very good one, for 24,80 Euro).
no information that the hotel is only accessable via a 5km detour due to road works
Bergse Bossen is a nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. It's close to Utrecht so you can easily avoid traffic jams. WiFi inside the hotel is good. However on the terrace theire's no wireless internet connection possible.
The staff was wonderful and the bungalow we stayed in was very clean. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices including cold cuts, eggs, cereal, yogurt, and many types of bread. We had the buffet dinner one night during our stay, and it was also very good. If you want to hike or bike, this is a great place. There is nothing that we did not like, but be advised that the hotel is about an hour from Amsterdam. We chose it because we also wanted to visit the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo. The hotel is only about a 20 minute drive to this museum.
Nice quiet location near wooded area Hotel did not have any tea making facilities in room
Older building, with charming rooms with balcony and view to a most wonderful garden. The equipment is not lasted state of the art, however we did not miss anything. Good kitchen and most deliciouse breakfast, which is quite unusual for NL. Service at dinner time could be a little bit faster. Wine prices are above the average, especially for NL
A lovely room surrounded by chestnut trees. Super friendly staff, that make everything possible. Bicycles are made available and good advice on nice bike routes starting from the hotel. Breakfast in a beautiful garden and excellent lunch (at 35 EUR good value for money) on the flowered terrace.
good location around. The smell of the whole hotel space, because the ground floor is restaurant, the condition of the air is not so good, smell food all the time, not fresh. Moreover, some staff is not so friendly (a tall guy), no smile. Also one day, they forgot clean the sheet, neither change the trash in the room. Also misunderstanding message all the time: miss counting how many guests in room.
Rooms are nice and clean, fresh towels every day. Beautiful surroundings, ideal for cycling and hiking. Two rooms were booked for a week, but we had to change rooms after three days because other guests requested one of the rooms. Price for breakfast (15,00 €) is too much, at least for a family, that is why we choose not to eat breakfast in the hotel.
rooms have decent size, garden view poor noise isolation (closing doors of other rooms will wake you) ; reception does not answer phone calls
The hotel itself was great - It seems to me it should be a 4 stars hotel, not 3. Room was clean, great green window view, serenity ... We went there for a taste of "rural" Holland after a week in Amsterdam. We didn't have a car. It was a nice place for cycling and relaxing (check out the mini-golf if you get there), but this village is quite dead - no super/mini market, and all the restaurants close at 9 pm. Watch out car-less travellers ... Also, almost no English tourist infos
It was clean hotel with decent breakfest serving. Room was clean, pleasent enviroment.Pricelevel can be accepted. If only, than workers behind window started to work 7.30, I wasn't ready for this....
Party of five - three doubles, one single. We had a very good stay in general. We wish to give a big thank you to "Nick" of the front desk staff - he was just amazing at every encounter. Postillion Hotels advertises 15 minute fix - and each question/request we made was promptly responded to and resolved. The daily breakfast was wonderful - the chef who served us Wednesday through Saturday (did not get his name) was warm and friendly and eager to please the guests. Parking very difficult for overnight guests when meeting rooms are busy - and they appeared to be booked on three of the four week days we were there. No clear instructions on how to bring up the heat - thermostat is room is only for A/C. Heat, provided by radiators, is controlled on the unit - located behind a couch and curtains. The gentleman who handled our check-out was at best gruff and unhappy we disturbed him with our check-out request.
The room used to be a smoking room and still smelled of smoke. No watercooker or facilities in room to make tea or coffee.
Room was nice and bed was cosy Showers didnt have proper draining so entire bathroom floor could get wet
Parking facilities and immediate access to motorway Staff in restaurant is unfit
I did not like it at all. There was too much effort put into the business conferencing. The atmosphere, the bed was uncomfortable, there was not enough attention to detail in stocking up our room with tea and coffee. We had to ask for more supplies and more pillows. The towells were far too small. I would expect this was a much cheaper hotel.
The room was too cold, even with the radiator working. The big sofa in front of it just block the heat. The air conditioning control on the wall seems not to work or make any change. I wake up in the morning with a nasty cold.
The hotel is close to the train station (5 minutes by walk); professional hotel staff; excellent breakfast; quiet room; etc
good rate , away from City traffic jams, near to Highway, very good restaurant
The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean, including a good bed and mattrass. The food was not that good -I had a soup and beefcarpaccio. I missed a hairdryer in the bathroom and a holder for showergel etc in the shower.
friendly staff at breakfast room desinterested staff at reception desk
Room was clean and wifi internet was free, other than that it was very basic and the bathroow was very small Small bathroom required a contortionist to use the toilet!
Kindness of the staff.
The breakfast was excellent, they made dishes in addition to the buffet. The stairs are extremely narrow and steep, the free internet didn't work very reliably.
Basic functional room, very long stairs and no elevator, friendly staff, quit room, free of charge high speed wireless internet, nice breakfast included, convenient location close to Utrecht university, value for money. Noisy bar downstairs mostly occupied by locals, not hotel guests
Breakfast was awesome!!! The rooms were rather small, though comfortable & clean.
The staff especially at breakfast were excellent-kind-smiling Too much smoke all around especially from the bar.
small hotel, lovely location in small city climbing narrow stairs
it was centraly located for our travel plans , the staff was not only helpful but made you feel welcome
Bacon and eggs for breakfast Shower was not fully functional, water pointed towards the wall only.
