Kevin Taylor's is absolutely our favorite restaurant for Restaurant Week. It is a great value with exceptionally good food and a nice variety to choose from on the menu. The service is great. The restaurant is also as quiet as any you will find, making it possible to have a nice conversation, even if people in your party are hearing impaired.

Perfect choice for dinner before an early play at the DCTC. Because it was restaurant week we enjoyed three courses for $35.00 and wine and beer by the glass. Service was timely and excellent. Food was delicious. Would recommend a small plaque on the door that doors will open at 5. PM.

Visited first time during restaurant week. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Honestly, they need a new pastry chef. The desserts were underwhelming; lemon cake was very dry and tasteless for example. The restrooms need major attention. Very bad odor, 1960's toilet paper and no soap in 3 out of 4 dispensers. I will go back, particularly for a pre-show dinner since I enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much. But ... I wish I could have rated the restaurant a 5. I did leave feedback for the manager, but I haven't heard anything...

First visit with friends who knew the restaurant. Dining week menu portions for risotto appetizer which was extraordinary. Entrees were very special, steak, roasted salmon with very nice sweet potato. The parsnip crisps and parsnip mousse were really delicious. The pork belly was nothing special, not crisp and meat was tough. The macaroni with gruyere and bacon was quite tasty, could not finish it. Lobster crab appetizer did not taste fresh. Desserts lovely in appearance but just ok. There were two complimentary 'petit fours' that were spectacular.\n\nHead waiter and waiter provided lovely, caring service--very attentive. Reassured us we could stay as long as we liked. Charming setting. We hear that one should pair a Best of Broadway production with a meal here.

Amazing food and even better atmosphere. Most restaurants, especially on Valentine's Day, cram as many people as possible into their space. Kevin Taylor's seating is open and comfortable. The option to have the professional bartenders and/or managers pick the wine pairing with each dish is must have. They are knowledgeable about the wine and do a great job of pairing. Highly recommend this place.

The room is wonderful with large space between tables and interesting art lining the walls. The service was outstanding. It was our first visit and so we took advantage of the restaurant week menu of NY strip loin and lamb loin. Both were tender and cooked as desired. The twice baked sweet potato soup was extraordinary! Everything was delicious except for the desserts. The crème brûlée had a large blob of marshmallow which I was unable to cut to put in my mouth. The pretzel was so hard I couldn't break it with my teeth. The cheesecake scoops really didn't taste like cheesecake at all. When we told our server about the disappointing desserts, she brought a small carrot cake that had fondant on outside which tasted like wax. The Kevin Taylor restaurant is a great place to eat. Hopefully they will get a new dessert chef!

This is a big room. Tables are spaced far apart, so your conversation is easy and private. My wife and I love this but our other couple wished for a little more contact with others, a little more bustle. There are oodles of too-noisy places, so enjoy this.\n\nThe food, excellent. The cocktails, excellent. The service, excellent. Pure Kevin Taylor concept and execution. Creative and delightful dishes, not just a piece of meat accompanied by a pod of potato and another pod of veggie-of-the-moment. Wonderful desserts, too, by the way, at once luxurious and light.\n\nEasily on my list of best restaurants in Colorado. An upscale treat.\n\nThe only downside is that it isn't open six days a week. Opening coincides with performances at the Performing Arts Center, so call ahead. But it is definitely worth seeking it out.

The KT opera house restaurant in Denver and in Central City is only open to the public on opera nights. We always look forward to our opera nights at both locations. The entire restaurant organization is exceptional, including the management and some of the best wait and bar staff anywhere. We have befriended a couple of them who make our visits extra special. The food is always inspiring, beautifully presented, unique, and delicious. Thank you Kevin Taylor and family.

Food and service were great once again...the pre-show Pre Fix Menu which includes appetizer, main, and a dessert at $45 is a great value. Wine selection isn't huge but they have enough great bottles that you can find something good (the 2010 Bordeaux even though it was young opened up really nice after decanting). The food was very creative and delicious--foie gras with beets, crab cakes, pork tenderloins and pork belly, the bass (skin was perfectly crispy while the fish very moist) and the deconstructed cheesecake was over the top in creativity and flavor. Once again, we asked for a cheese plate (off menu) to accompany our 20-Year Graham's port and he was able to do it. Service was on point. Would definitely recommend and return.

Our dinner Friday evening at Kevin Taylor at the Opera was a major disappointment. We placed our dinner order before 6:00 but were not served until 7:10. Interesting location under the DCPA. The space was vast but wonderfully decorated with a 'starry sky' ceiling. I have never had so much space between tables and it was refreshing to not be crammed in together with other diners. The food was absolutely wonderful. The 4 of us each tried a different dish and everyone raved about the meal. Most of the year this location is open only to large private parties. Certain seasons it is open as a restaurant. The menu is beyond weird with totally unrecognizable items - milk jam? coffee crumbs? shortrib croquette? carrot cake donut hole? We allowed 90 minutes for dinner. Did not order drinks, and still barely made it to the opera on time. Our entree finally arrived one hour and five minutes after we got there, and had to bolt it down to get to the opera on time. Waitress was very helpful and apologetic - not her fault.

I recently dined their for the first time for Restaurant Week with a group of five. The restaurant was nicely set up - interesting how if it's right by the opera room. The food was wonderful and so was the service - for the most part. We asked for split checks however, and that created a bit of an issue. Management was there and helped a lot but it would have be nice to have been given an update by our server. We could hear her complaining about the process but she never came back to the table after the whole experience. I understand splitting checks can be complicated (we were willing to do it ourselves, but she said she could handle it). Overall though, I know we are not the first and wont be the last to request multiple tabs, so best to not complain so close to your table. Food was great though.

I have been going to Kevin Taylor's since it first opened. I particularly like it when they have short ribs and polenta and wish they had it all the time but the other food is excellent also the wine list is extensive however most of it is by the bottle and for one person a bottle is too much wish they had a more extensive list by the glass I have also been there for several parties and their munchies are wonderful as well as their desserts but I am one of those weird people that doesn't like chocolate so would like to see a few more non-chocolate selections in the dessert munchies I love the location because you can go there and be right at the opera house so just need to go upstairs from the restaurant without having to go outside and walk blocks and blocks it isn't inexpensive but it is excellent\n\nDeanna Leino

Our reservation was an hour and a half before the show and we barely made it. The service was very slow. My appetizer was outstanding but I ordered the halibut entree and the fish was beyond overcooked. One of my friends also ordered the halibut and hers was also horribly overcooked. It was like eating canned tuna! We considered sending the entrees back but choose not to due to our time constraints. Our desserts were delicious. I'm still amazed at the poor quality of the entree especially considering the price of the meal and the excellence of everything else. I might try this restaurant again but definitely will not order any fish!

I ate here for the first time last night for restaurant week. It was me in a party of 5. When we came down the stairs, there was a woman who immediately came up to us and offered to check our coats. I waited longer than I should have for a host/hostess to come and greet me and ask about my reservation. Little did I know, the woman that checked our coats was also the hostess seating people. I think perhaps the restaurant should've had multiple people doing this job, or maybe she should've been clear about her role. I awkwardly watched waiters and waitresses walk by hoping one of them would seat me at a table. \n\nThe menu for restaurant week was great. There were several options, it even made it a little difficult for me to make a decision on what I wanted. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and helped us make our decisions. \n\nJust a little tip... Goat cheesecake - hands down the best cheesecake I've ever eaten in my life. It was so soft and airy, and I it had a very subtle hint of the goat's milk. The graham cracker crust was light and went very well with the cheesecake. I could've had this for every course and would've been happy. \n\nOne of the best things about this restaurant during restaurant week is that their menu consists of items that are on their normal menu and the servings aren't shrunk down to reflect the cost of the meal. The service here was impeccable, the food was delicious and the company was great. It was overall one of the best meals I've had during restaurant week.

Second visit in past year plus. Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. All service was attentive and just right (not overbearing and not too little); always there when you needed it! Food was excellent as usual and all four of us were very happy with most items. My only complaint was the very small portion of crab salad in the appetizer. Desserts topped everything off - all three were tops!\nWe will return!

Five of us enjoyed Restaurant Week before a concert. Our round table and a quiet room made it great for conversation, The waiter discussed the excellent menu and wine options. Everyone was delighted with their meal. Several of us took some food home to enjoy later. The desserts were a smaller size, and a perfect ending to a great night out.

Visited this restaurant multiple times and always enjoyed their food and service. This is a great place for special occasions with a great ambiance.

Ethan & Charles were especially wonderful. The wine pairings are such a great addition to try new wines with dinner! The food and presentation were spectacular!!

We were disappointed that our party of ten couldn't be accommodated around 700pm, so we changed our reservation to only 4 because our friends couldn't make it by 515pm.. When we walked into the restaurant, it was completely dead.. The food was incredible as was the service, but I wasn't able to celebrate with my closest friends. :(

We had a delightful dining experience on Valentine's Day -- food, ambiance and service were superb. Also, the prix fixe menu was great value for the price. Can't wait to return!

The food was good, the service was excellent but it is a large open room, it is not a romantic ambience. Good place to eat before going to the theatre or for large parties.

Our third time dining at KT. Everything was wonderful. The food and service cannot be beat! We will eat exclusively at KT before each Opera event.

The ambiance was wonderful and our waiter absolutely outstanding. If there was a way to give him more than the 5 stars, I would. The NY strip steak was a great choice and the location is excellent if you are attending a show at the DCPA.

Our service was spotty, at best. It took way longer than necessary for us to be greeted and given water and asked about drinks. Then I had to remind the waiter that we hadn't been served bread. The only thing they were 'Johnny on the spot' with was the check.

I dined with a friend before the opera. We are older and generally prefer smaller portions. We both ordered the Maine Lobster Salad appetizer. The dish was almost tasteless and the lobster was like rubber. The service was good, but that is about all. The food needs a lot of work.
