decor was heavy and gloomy needs some real updating color were baroque (more like a dungeon.
Lots of construction but much of the facilities were in disrepair and felt a little unsafe, such as stairwells and decks. Wait staff was not always very kind or helpful and we felt like they were angling for tips. We had a good experience at the spa except that we were really looking forward to the coed jacuzzi and it was closed. We may not have spent all that money had we known it wasn't available.
We felt at home. This place is obviously old and being renovated, but the old trees and nice views were perfect. There are a lot of things to do at this place, including several kids activities, or adult. There are multiple restaraunts. The place is under construction currently, but it was not a bother, just ugly in certain parts.
Excellent breakfast at the grill.
Golf Course The room was tired. Funky plumbing in shower. Very small bathroom. Broken sceens below windows would allow rodents in. Overall the place is looking worn out. Salashan truly needs to upgrade for the prices they are charging. Slight mold smell in the room. I probably will not be booking anything again untill I see the place upgraded.
Free upgrade to a very very large room with a partial bay view. Comfortable bed, gas fireplace, lots of large windows and beautiful furniture. Comfortable and a steal for the price.
Everthing you need is on site Under construction booking site did not say this I didn't know tel after I booked and the hotel emailed me to confirm by this time it was too late
I went to Salishan for a personal rejuvenation retreat weekend and it did not disappoint. The room, views, property, and service were spectacular. I'm not a golfer, but the golf course views and landscape were fantastic. The crown jewel is definitely the spa - excellent value as you can make a day of using the facilities there. Salishan is great for fitness as well, with the gym and trails right off the property. I even used the nearly-empty beach for yoga and meditation. My only complaint is that I didn't stay longer! How do I put this... the restaurants need an upgrade. The family restaurant is fine and the prices are good for a resort. I didn't eat at The Attic but it has a great atmosphere. The fine dining restaurant, however, is about 30 years behind contemporary cuisine -- which may be fine for their demographic or what's standard for small town "fine dining." But if they want to cultivate generations X, Y, Millennials, etc, especially coming from the food mecca of Portland, they severely need to overhaul the menu and service style to 2015. The Oregon coast is way behind and the restaurants that update stand to become destinations and profit accordingly.
Not great but over all was a nice and very relaxing weekend and that's what we were looking for. Would have liked it to be closer to to the beach and or town although if you come prepared they have everthing you would need on site. Lots of amenities. Overal we enjoyed out stay.
There was no hot water, barely warm enough to take a shower. They use to have a lot of nice shops in their shopping village, not any more! At least 75% are closed and out of business. The lounge closed way too early given that they call themselves a resort. I have been to this hotel many times in the past with nothing but positive things to say...not this time. I won't be back
on the beach stains on carpet, old baseboard heaters, pool was enclosed in a greenhouse structure
The view of the ocean Some sort of continental breakfast would seem appropriate given the price we paid per night.

View of ocean out your window, sound of waves crashing, balcony to enjoy the view. Restaurant is amazing, best food in the area. Staff friendly, helpful. Restaurant also has view of ocean. You can see the gray whales out your window sometimes feeding. It's pretty pricey compared to other hotels across the street and in Lincoln City. You're paying for the view. They have a lot of return customers for this reason. You have to book a ways ahead. No AC, but has fans and little windows to open.
The view was incredible. We sat out on our balcony from the time we arrived at about 3:00 until 7:30. The staff was very gracious and made sure we had everything we needed. We were in the adult building and it was very quiet. It is now our go to place
The Oregon Coast is usually pretty grey and I expected that, but even with the grey the view from our room was amazing. The number one reason I will never come back and never recommend this hotel is their '10% discount in the restaurant' which turned out to be 6.5% discount. So either they can't do math or they think I can't. The latter is most infuriating.
The staff is very friendly, dining facility was awesome, our room was huge with tub and shower, great view.
The view is spectacular! Our room was supposed to be a double, two beds. We had one double size bed and a futon. Very thin walls. We could understand the conversations next door even with our TV on. Hotel website says no children accommodated there. Hotel says no kids in 1 bldg.
Great view. Room was to small for the price ,it was the size of my girlfriends walk in closet.
spacious, beautiful view, comfortable, great eating at associated restaurant.
The view was beautiful The staff, was not on top of anything. Their plaque in the office says, 'if you are not satisfied bring it to our attention and we will make it right' Our key card stopped working multiple times and I witnessed others having the same issues.
There was a beautiful view just walking out the front door! The price was much cheaper than anything else in the city, especially considering the view. Centrally located in Depoe Bay. Check in and out was quick and no hassle. Staff was kind. The linens were clean. Coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave in our room was good and clean. The complimentary breakfast included was very sparse, just coffee, OJ and teeny tiny muffins. Also the beds were very firm, but this is usually the case with 80% of hotels anyway.
