Situated by the ocean, Cavalier Beachfront Condominiums is a great choice for a stay in Gleneden Beach. You can get a morning swim in at the indoor pool, and the sauna makes for a relaxing end to the day. Condos feature bonuses like kitchens and sofa beds, along with fireplaces and balconies.
Cons: Massage wasn't quite as good as it should've been for price
Pros: Golf Course
Cons: The room was tired. Funky plumbing in shower. Very small bathroom. Broken sceens below windows would allow rodents in. Overall the place is looking worn out. Salashan truly needs to upgrade for the prices they are charging. Slight mold smell in the room.
I probably will not be booking anything again untill I see the place upgraded.
Pros: Free upgrade to a very very large room with a partial bay view. Comfortable bed, gas fireplace, lots of large windows and beautiful furniture. Comfortable and a steal for the price.
Pros: Not great but over all was a nice and very relaxing weekend and that's what we were looking for. Would have liked it to be closer to to the beach and or town although if you come prepared they have everthing you would need on site. Lots of amenities. Overal we enjoyed out stay.
Pros: I went to Salishan for a personal rejuvenation retreat weekend and it did not disappoint. The room, views, property, and service were spectacular. I'm not a golfer, but the golf course views and landscape were fantastic. The crown jewel is definitely the spa - excellent value as you can make a day of using the facilities there. Salishan is great for fitness as well, with the gym and trails right off the property. I even used the nearly-empty beach for yoga and meditation. My only complaint is that I didn't stay longer!
Cons: How do I put this... the restaurants need an upgrade. The family restaurant is fine and the prices are good for a resort. I didn't eat at The Attic but it has a great atmosphere. The fine dining restaurant, however, is about 30 years behind contemporary cuisine -- which may be fine for their demographic or what's standard for small town "fine dining." But if they want to cultivate generations X, Y, Millennials, etc, especially coming from the food mecca of Portland, they severely need to overhaul the menu and service style to 2015. The Oregon coast is way behind and the restaurants that update stand to become destinations and profit accordingly.
Pros: We felt at home. This place is obviously old and being renovated, but the old trees and nice views were perfect. There are a lot of things to do at this place, including several kids activities, or adult. There are multiple restaraunts.
Cons: The place is under construction currently, but it was not a bother, just ugly in certain parts.
Pros: Everthing you need is on site
Cons: Under construction booking site did not say this I didn't know tel after I booked and the hotel emailed me to confirm by this time it was too late
Pros: Excellent breakfast at the grill.
Cons: decor was heavy and gloomy needs some real updating color were baroque (more like a dungeon.
Cons: Lots of construction but much of the facilities were in disrepair and felt a little unsafe, such as stairwells and decks. Wait staff was not always very kind or helpful and we felt like they were angling for tips. We had a good experience at the spa except that we were really looking forward to the coed jacuzzi and it was closed. We may not have spent all that money had we known it wasn't available.
Cons: There was no hot water, barely warm enough to take a shower. They use to have a lot of nice shops in their shopping village, not any more! At least 75% are closed and out of business. The lounge closed way too early given that they call themselves a resort. I have been to this hotel many times in the past with nothing but positive things to say...not this time. I won't be back
A great stay at Salishan Spa and Golf Resort in Gleneden Beach can include a round of golf at the 18-hole course. Guests can visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or body scrubs, and The Sun Room, one of 2 restaurants, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 2 bars/lounges and an indoor pool are offered, and rooms at this upscale resort have conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: Our stay here was perfect. Wonderful friendly staff, clean rooms with amazing views, great free breakfast close to all the businesses, and great price. we couldn't ask for more. As a group we reserved 4 rooms and we were all very satisfied.
Pros: There was a beautiful view just walking out the front door! The price was much cheaper than anything else in the city, especially considering the view. Centrally located in Depoe Bay. Check in and out was quick and no hassle. Staff was kind. The linens were clean. Coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave in our room was good and clean.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast included was very sparse, just coffee, OJ and teeny tiny muffins. Also the beds were very firm, but this is usually the case with 80% of hotels anyway.
