good bar & restaurant. very central, rooms clean & well furnished the lack of parking is very poor as the underground carpark is closed. there is no drop off parking to allow you to unload cases so you need to drive to the local carpark & struggle back with cases & children
everything was great, staff, room, food, price no complaints
Great location, near to the city centre. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. No parking facilities at the hotel. (We used Chapel Street Car Park, a short walk away, across the ring road).
All staff we met: reception, bar and cleaning, were very helpful and polite. None.
Good modern hotel, friendly staff. Well located near cathedral.
The only black mark against the expereince was the lady receptionist who was on duty upon arrival - she was rude, uninformative about parking arrangements and unprofessional. Also, the car parking arrangements need to be more clearly set out on arrival and / or on their website.
Good location, very convenient for both the city centre and the park. And the midday check out is very welcome. Being on an island in the middle of Derby's ring road means that it's a bit tricky to drive up to the door, or to turn around if you overshoot. Not a huge problem though, and nothing to put me off booking again.
New hotel in good location to amenities
The staff were very helpful when I raised the concern below. Other reports on the web site do not mention that the hotel is right next to the Inner Ring Road in Derby. Rather more than half the rooms directly overlook the dual carriageway, so I would suggest that anyone who has difficulty with traffic noise either go elsewhere or ensure that you get a room on the other side of the hotel. I was given a lovely room overlooking the Ring Road, which was quiet late on Sunday when I arrived. After being awoken at 5am by traffic, I asked the staff if I could have a room on the back of the hotel. I was given one without any problem and was happy with the other two nights of my stay. I would also strongly recommend that anyone with a car park it first, then walk 100m to the hotel.
Very clean, with professional, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, and nice new place. Room had nice full length windows, and was very comfortable. Bar was expensive, but was very relaxing.
No free parking
Very clean & comfortable. Staff very helpful Small room. Though I could have been o0ffered a better room considering the hotel was not full. The room was very small
This was my third visit to this hotel and I can't speak highly enough of the service, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the high standard of the facilities. Excellent value for money, highly recommended. Unfortunately the hotel does not have its own car park and although there is a nearby public car park, it was closed for refurbishment during this visit.
The hotel was great. Position was ideal. The rooms were really comfortable albeit a little small. We stayed in a Junior Double so perhaps the other rooms are bigger. The service in the lounge area and cocktail bar were good. The breakfast was included in our room rate so was great value not so good if you have to pay £15 per person. Would highly recommend especially for business travellers.
The hotel is very nice, clean, quiet, one of the best spots of Derby.
Terrible Sound Insulation - can hear every creaky floorboard in adjoining room and downstairs Disco to 12 midnight
rooms are very comfortable. staff are lovely. the room service took forever and wasn't great quality for 2 sandwiches
I booked at very short notice and everything was ready and a thoroughly comfortable stay, no hassle good staff. Desk a little cramped for working but I only booked a single room.
Beautiful Hotel - inviting entrance and reception area - magnificent staircase - a real wow factor. Perfect location - 2 minutes awayd from shoping, bars & restaurants. Staff really helpful - would stay here quite happily again. Cocktail bar in reception area which we didn't use as the door to the cocktail bar was closed so didn't feel inviting. Rooms are beautiful but dark and TV is in an awkward place.
The location It was a busy weekend and arriving in the entrance to the hotel fighting our way through the wedding party who were blocking the entrance was difficult.
Fantastic new hotel, quiet and tasteful room, comfortable bed, clean, close to city centre, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. The only downside was lack of parking. There is a private car park 100 metres away, but this is pretty expensive. Information at the time of booking had suggested on-site parking so this was unexpected.
