Pros: Acceptable hotel on quiet side street within walking distance of bus station. Friendly helpful staff but little English spoken. Simple breakfast. Organized a rented bicycle for me to visit the Battle sites around town and a taxi to outlying sites. Good restaurants and cafes nearby.
Pros: The room was very big with a good view. The hotel has a lift - appriciable! Nice food in the neighborhood. Situated near the centre - but a bit difficult to find.
Cons: It's not the fault of the hotel but I think I was the only guest - and nobody in the hotel speaks a word English. Dien Bien Phu is a nice little city it deserves more visitors. Little accident the last day: the toilet had a leak and smelled badly. But such a thing may arrive everywhere...
Pros: Friendly Service by the ladys, ask for thr sort of breakfast you wish, offer lunch and dinner, manage bus-booking to Laos, instead to be at the busterminal at 5.30 am, you get a pick up at the hotel at 7.30 am, that’s fine!!
Cons: A welcoming hospitable establishment.A very common occurrence throughout Vietnam
Pros: It was always a recreational place after long walks through historical sites.
Pros: The room was ok but the service was awful. Unfriendly and the Director tried to add costs to a previously arranged driver/guide service. My final comment- this Ruby is no gem! Howard Green-Toronto Canada
Pros: The location was very convenient, close to hill A1 and the museum.
Cons: Despite being advertised as english-speaking, no one on the staff that we met spoke much English. We had a hard time communicating the fact that we wanted our laundry done, let alone asking for help or recommendations. There was apparently a free breakfast, but when we went up, the door to the restaurant was either locked, or totally empty, with no staff around to assist. Facilities were average - soap, toilet paper, etc. in our bathroom were not restocked in our three day visit, we had to ask at the front desk (using Google translate).
Pros: We arrived late and left the next morning very early. The staff prepared our breakfast to take on the bus!
Pros: There was no breakfast provided, which was fine. The staff was there when you needed them, but not particularly friendly.
Cons: The room was not that clean. Dead insects in the corners of the room and live insects on parts of the floor.
Pros: Close to the bus station (10min walk).
Cons: We wanted to pay the room in the afternoon (as we planed to leave around 4.30am the next morning), nobody was there. After waiting approx. 20 minutes, an old gentleman appeared speaking no english. He called some people, again 20minutes later we were able to pay. The lady told us that next morning 4.30am someone would have been there for us to check-out. Of course, there was not.

Pros: Wow, that's a socialistic palace... but i guess i was one of the only guests. The ladies on reception speak little english but do what they can to help you feel comfortable. Restaurant was closed and there was no breakfast possible. The rooms are large and the bed is very comfy. And it is very close to the war museum and some restaurants.
Pros: Staffs and surrounding people.
Pros: The hotel is very weird to arrive to, it's just a luxury palace which is fit for the queen! A few to many pictures in the main hall which you'll understand if you stay here but the staff the friendly and I could literally go for a jog in the room! We paid an extra 50% for checking in at 4am when our bus arrived from Sapa which was great for us. We certainly would recommend a stay here if you're going from Sapa to Laos and it's in your budget. If we were going to do it again we'd have a sleeping pill and get the next bus to Muang Khua
Cons: Bed was a little hard and I got sore legs for walking so far to the toilet (the rooms are that big)
Pros: Very nice and helpful reception. Very near to sightseeing spots.
Pros: Close to museum
Cons: Poor food choices (No chicken available!) The supposedly free 7th floor offer was a set up to get big payback for unrequested specialized services
Pros: The hotel is well located - right by the museum, the Vietnamese war cemetery and A1 hill. Very helpful staff, very clean, comfortable and luxurious hotel. Ask at the desk to organise a taxi to visit other war-related sites.
Pros: Nice staff with good service. Room and bathroom are so large that I almost felt a little lost in them.
Cons: I was just passing through Dien Bien Phu and this was a little far from the bus station, with pricey taxi rides to and from. I would have done better making no reservation and just take a hotel on the spot. Very skimpy breakfast. Very slow Wi-Fi.
Pros: Very clean, great room size. Good Wi-Fi and air con.
Cons: Spa area was closed and looked disused. Breakfast was limited to noodle soup...
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: The room needs renovations. The rug is very dirty.

Pros: Affordable and in great location to everything.
Cons: No elevator, lack of towels, bathroom door doesn't lock.
Pros: Nice staff and clean room. Totally what we expected for the price.
Pros: Perfect location very close to the bus station. Simple, but clean and comfortable. Staff hardly speaks English but really tried to communicate through google translate!
Cons: Beds are a bit uncomfortable and the woollen blanket didn’t feel very clean.
Pros: Near to the bus station, confortable for a 1 night for take the bus the next morning. Hotel people do not speak English but try to communicate and answer your questions.
Cons: Comunication could be better.
Pros: Good location
Cons: Can’t speak English.
Pros: Really close to the bus terminal, easy check-in and -out
Pros: We were stopping by in Dien Bien Phu for 1 night and evening were looking for a cheap place to crash near the bus station. Bao Loc did just that.
Cons: Bed sheets didn’t seem the freshest.
Pros: Perfect location if you are catching an early bus! The room was spacious, fairly clean and the beds were big. Staff didn’t speak English but were very friendly and used google translate.
Cons: Could be cleaner, but definitely acceptable for the price you pay!
Pros: Great location for onward travellers. Staff had very little English but they are really helpful, friendly people and have access to Google translate for questions. Close to airport and across the road from bus station. Cheap and cheerful Vietnamese street food vendors nearby. Good room and shower for the price.
Cons: Mattress was a little hard.
Pros: Cheap and easy, right near the bus station. Lots of food nearby.
Pros: Super super friendly staff and convenient location! The War Monument, DBP Museum, and War Museum are just a few minutes of walking away. I’ve met so many cute people and their hospitality here in DBP, and my staying in Tara Hostel is the most obvious proof :)
Pros: Lovely staff! Very helpful and kindhearted
Pros: Location is great, near everywhere, staff can speak only very basic english or none, depends who you met, but they really try to understand and help, free coffee available whole day, they let me check in at about 5:30 as my bus arrived very early and next day they cooked me breakfast at 5am as I needed catch a morning bus
Cons: Bathroom could be cleaner, even if they are very nice and kind they can not give any information or book a bus ticket as the staff doesnt understand english
Pros: Great location. I really like the reading area.
Pros: Good place, in the center. Very sympathique staff ;)
Pros: Was possible to get earlier into the room
Cons: Staff was unfriendly and not helpful. The room was very dirty and the floor in the bedroom and bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The bed sheets weren‘t clean. During the night my skin was itching and the next morning I had red bite marks on my body. I checked it and they turned out to be bed bugs bite marks. I left the hostel at 7 am and the staff told me that I couldn‘t have breakfast, because it would be too early. When I asked if they could order a taxi for me to go to the bus station, they gave me a phone number instead so I could call it myself. In all other Hostels in Southeast Asia, where I stayed before ( been traveling for 5 months now) it was possible, that the hostel would order a taxi for the guests. Also parts of the staff were sleeping in my dorm room, which wouldn‘t have been a problem for me, but dirty clothes were laying around. Worst hostel in my whole time of traveling now and very pricy for Vietnam. Can‘t recommend you to go there!

Pros: Next to the bus station
Cons: We had to wait for 2 hours at reception chasing everyone before we could pay. No one cares. We could have left wihout paying.
Pros: The location, the room
Cons: It is a litle expensive for only one person
Cons: I’ve already been travelling for a while and it’s the first bad hostel I’ve stayed, the room was dirty, the bed seemed wasn’t clean, the staff weren’t friendly, I was very dissatisfied that next day I changed the hostel
Pros: It fitted our needs perfectly, it was very affordable and extremely close to the bus station. We were between bus trips staying in Down Bien Phu less than 12 hours. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: There was no remote for the air conditioning. This could possibly have been remedied - we did not ask staff
Pros: Staff were helpful, the air con did not work in the room, but they changed our room the next day with a working air con without hassle.
Cons: It could be cleaner.
Pros: Location, the restaurant they recommended and then actually walked us to, room facilitied fridge and kettle.
Cons: Staff initially didn't nake any effort to assist us. Would like to see large bottle of wster at front to refill contsiners instead of lots of little bottles.
Pros: Nice and friendly people
Cons: Showers were cold. Mattress was hard as rock. Was able to sleep 4 hours before my back killed me.
Pros: Good value for money, clean comfortable and perfect location to the bus station met our needs for a one night stay.
Cons: Although surface clean the rooms could do with a deep clean.
Pros: Great staff, great location. Nice and clean.
Cons: The bed was quite hard and WiFi wasn't up to much.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and an elevator (lift). A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
Pros: Large room, clean, comfortable bed
Cons: Minimal breakfast selection for Western visitors
Pros: Staff were nice and they tried. At least wifi was good.
Cons: Basically everything. We traveled in early February. They kept the hotel front doors open the whole time, even though it was about 10 C outside. Everyone wore heavy jackets and since the dining room was next to the entry (and open doors), dining was a very cold experience too. The hallway on our floor was very cold. Our room was very cold, but my wife refused to accept it, and kept calling to fix the heat -- it took 1 1/2 days before they got it work. I am sure that they only turned on the heat in our room as an exception since we were the only westerners staying there (and we were stuck 2 extra days because of the fog and cancelled flights). If I were young and could start my life over, I would consider starting a hotel catering to westerners. The tourist sites are incredible, but there is absolutely nothing for westerners in that town. I once asked a hotel staff person if she knew anywhere where I get a latte and she said "what is that?" To be clear, the staff were very friendly and tried hard to help us, but so many skills were lacking, starting with English. This was not a 4 star hotel and barely even a 3 star hotel. The breakfast offerings to a western person were awful, except for the guy making eggs. Imitation jam, sweetened milk, instant coffee only -- everything was cheap.
Pros: Great staff, eager to please Location
Cons: The hotel is a bit rundown. Bathroom facilities didn’t work properly. Zero soundproofing on windows.
