The property is very nice and only a 5 min drive to downtown. The pool is great. As the wellness center didn't open until 4pm, the kids had the pool to themselves in the am. No vegetarian options in the restaurant. Terrace very small and not very attractive. No lawn chairs outside to sit in the sun, just steel benches. Rooms are small. Glad we didn't pay the extra Euro 26 per night for our son as this would have made the room too overpriced for what it is. Breakfast service friendly but slow.
One of the most wonderful and beautiful walks/trail in the "world" passes by the hotel and excellent spa
the location value for money out of line, and without being respectless. it's more an hotel for older people.
good, comfortable room and a very nice wellness and fitness area tiles around pool were very slippery when wet.Slippers might be provided by the hotel
it is not 4 star hotel, i think it is only 3 star
Staff are kind and cooperative, dinner was good. Well maintained but facility is a bit old.
Hotel well located for walks/hikes in the 'Little Switzerland' area but also possible to walk into Echternach. Set in lovely peaceful grounds.Comfortable well-appointed room. Very good buffet breakfast. We enjoyed the use of the swimming pool and steam room after a long hike!
i liked the wellness features and swimming pool, i liked the yard and the comfort lounge rooms
the quality of the restaurant was excellent, the service at table was discrete and efficient. the location with the walking routes very close to the hotel was very practical, the wellness centre with the swimming pool although small was nice (but we were lucky that there were very few guests otherwise it would have been too small and soon crowded) we did not like the first room too noisy as on the road and we dislike the new building, that has an awful architecture wrt to what I had expected to be a "chateau".the building and the furniture including the carpet are too old, and shall be renovated to be up to a 4 stars hotel. bicycles were not available. overall the hotel is a good 3 stars, but certainly not 4 stars
the location was marvelous. The hotel staff very friendly and multilingual.
We had an excellent stay in this hotel although I think this is more a 4-star hotel than a 5-star. Our room was big and very clean but furnitures and bathroom are a bit outdated. Nevertheless everything was clean. Hotel infrastructure is great with pools and gym etc. - all very clean. Breakfast is ok. The saturday's night buffet was great and delicious. Conclusion : great hotel with some improvement areas. Congratulations to the staff and the manager who are all very nice and helpful.
The surroundings were very nice. The food was very good, both dinner & breakfast. The hotel was old, but still very cozy and charming. The machinnes in the fitness were brand new = Excellent The opening hours for the Spa. People were naked in the sauna, which is not my thing...
Pool and associated facilities Rooms need revamping
The hotel was wonderful and we will definitely stay there again. It was very clean. The hotel room was a large suite, and although the furnishings were a bit outdated, it was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was deluxe with a jacuzzi tub and electronic shower system. The room had two toilets even. The amenities were great: The pool was beautiful and the perfect temperature. We had it all to ourselves when we went swimming since it is heading into their slow season. The workout facilities are beautiful. I am a huge breakfast snob and not easily impressed; however their breakfast was superior. A very large display of items including fresh fruit and 3 kinds of eggs, and little sausages. Best of all was the homeade pastries. The croissants were better than anything we had in Paris - so flaky and buttery. I could have eaten my weight in them. All the little extra touches made this the place to stay: turn down service at night with chocolates on your pillow, free shuttle service into town, hot milk to go with your coffee in the morning, and a gift when you leave. We were there for the Echternach Marathon. They asked if we finished and then gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate. The staff was very friendly and always had a smile for us. This is a top notch place for all those reasons. The town of Echternach also has much to recommend. Can't wait to go back!
Friendly staff, good food Rooms and furniture need updating, spa facilities small, only one restaurant working. Far from 5 stars.
Some friendly staff. This hotel advertises as quiet and peaceful. Yet on Friday and Saturday nights it allows extreme noise and does nothing to stop it. There was only one junior member of staff on duty, no one on reception and it was necessary to get dressed at 1am in the morning and go downstairs to ask if the noise could be controlled. The member of staff was young and unable to do anything. During the day some staff members were unfriendly. The room facilities were clearly not up to the advertised standard. Also we were told not to take bottled water or snacks into our room because they want you to use the minibar. Food and drink was very expensive and if something is not up to standard no refund is given. This hotel does not seem to encourage British guests. We would not stay there again.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Spa complex extensive and modern. Good location overlooking the town. Bathrooms beginning to need modernisation. The hotel prides itself on its gourmet dinners which are expensive and well supported, but does not offer any alternative except to go into town. For a 5 star this seems very limited. This should be made clear on your website and in the hotel information.
Fantastic view, always approachable and helpful staff, comfortable room, fabulous buffet breakfast. I don't think there was anything I didn't like!
Fantastic wellness facilities, pleasant & helpful staff, superb quality of buffet breakfast, all rooms have a private balcony. Nothing
The situation was excellent and the manager made us very welcome. The speed of service at meal times could be very slow but the quality of the food was very high! Such Tournados!
Good location, pay parking nearby.Free parking by bus station, 5 mins from Hotel. Bathroom needs updating. Bad smell of smoke in public areas.
The hotel is excellent! I stayed in much more expensive hotels and they were looking much worse. It's cosy and nicely furnished and the location is perfect. The only thing that could be improved is breakfast and some tea and coffee facilities could be in the room.
the location the room was stuffy. the staff was not very helpful. breakfast was not served until the time advised to us. noisy street.
Central location parking/access was a bit tight.
Charming hotel -excellent location right on the pedestrian street in center of town. We were there at a quiet time so there was no street noise to bother us and we loved the room. Keep in mind that the hotel is located on a pedestrian street so you can't drive your car to it. We didn't realize this and consequently spent a lot of time looking for the hotel. Head to the bus station and park for free. Then find the pedestrian street and the hotel. We chose to stay parked in the bus station and avoid the stress of having to find the hotel's parking garage.
The room was non-smoking, but there was no mistaking the smell of a smoker, which was being "masked" by fresh scented flowers and popourri. It was dark and gloomy inside the room.
Centrally situated and convenient, with parking for our car. Our room was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good. Quite a lot of stairs!
Nice rooms, friendly staff, very good restaurant
Everything was perfect with this hotel, the staff were friendly, the room was clean and cozy, the location was perfect and the restaurant was top notch. We will be going back, hopefully soon! Absolutely nothing!
The food and the quiet location. Shower head can only be used in the bath, ie cannot be hooked up on the wall and no shower curtain.
Friendly and helpful reception. Excellent bed. No shower curtain over bath made use of shower very difficult.
Staff was genuinely friendly and we received good service during breakfast. Our room had a huge terrace with comfortable deck chairs. Very peaceful environment. There's a difference between the new section and the old building. The old rooms are basic albeit very clean and comfortable. If possible ask for the new rooms. Plus, we could have appreciated more guidance on the available hiking routes and tips on special places that are worth visiting.
Very friendly service and very efficient cleaning.
Quiet location in pleasant natural surroundings, nevertheless closeness to town. Friendly behaviour of staff. No air conditioning in room. Limited number of TV channels on TV. Beds could be more comfortable.
The staff was simply wonderful, the food was beyond compare & the setting was great! What a wonderful stay! The view from our room was also just beautiful & the setting was very serene. Definitely one of our favorite places! Also parking wa a plus. The towels. Although no airconditioning in 90 degrees, the breeze kept it comfortable. Somewhat inconvenient with no elevator, but the good aspects more than made up for any inconvenience.
A delightful hotel great access to Le Petit Suisse area. Very quiet location.Super hotel.
Very clean and friendly
The hotel is peacefuly. The duplex rooms are comfortible with balcony. Breakfast was good. You need car to reach first city.
The location was nice and quiet,-yet not far from the action. Too many flies, especially when eatting,-even in the "fine" dining room!!
Very clean. Nice atmosphere. Very good breakfast. Good location. Room was a little too spartan. Bigger TV would be nice. Alarm clock would serve better closer to the bed. Staff could be a little less "proper" and a little friendlier.
We booket half pension... absolute a good hotel, personal was a not super friendly, but ok.. The Dinner was perfect, breakfast was not so good for a 4 star hotel, more like a simple ibis..... good but minimal
It was clean and extremely comfortable. The noise of the bells in the morning. But it was quite expected..
Well designed room, pleasant and helpful staff and quiet overnight
Centre of town with secure car parking available. We stayed half board. There was no choice of menu for the evening meal i.e. a set meal. It was not a problem for us. The food was excellent. However, it could be for some people eg for those who do not like fish for example.
The meals in the restaurant were excellent and the central location was very good.Had a lovely front facing room that gave a view to the square below. A tea making facility in the room would be good.
A quaint hotel in an excellent location, in the centre and walking distance to trails and parks. We had dinner twice at the brasserie and it was outstanding! Fresh food and excellent service
Very good breakfast , especially the fresh baked bread by the chef. better pillows. For these were too soft.
Very friendly and helpfull staff, clean hotelrooms that were beautifully renovated in 2008.
The hotel is in a good location. de-luxe room extremely well fitted out and large. The breakfast was poor and not value for money. Had to pay 9E per night for garage. Staff not very friendly.
Everything Every day the same breakfast
staff warm and welcoming, lovely room in great location, just stepped out the door on to the square. Restaurant outstanding, great food, attractively served and at reasonable prices.
Central location, good value for money. No on site parking, but there is public parking withing 10 minutes walk of the hotel.
sympathy of staff, polite staff, clean room and bathroom
Rooms were nice and comfortable, the staff was ffriendly despite the language barrier... All was good The Lack of internet facilities was not good
Comfortable hotel at good location for making long nature walks. Spacious and comfortable room. Good swimming pool. Free wireless Internet. Clientele is mixture of French-speaking elderly couples and Dutch-speaking large families. Good (non-gourmet) restaurant. Restaurant is overpriced. Background music in public areas is irritating.
Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are very clean. Quit and relaxing environment.
Everything. Excellent hotel.
Nice swimming pool and hotel garden. Good breakfast. Overpriced restaurant. Children were charged 20 euros for a small schnitzel. Family room consisted of 3 real beds and one couch bed.
With a one-year old we found the staff very helpful and they went out of their way to make a meal that he could eat. A previous review comment made us think that the waiting staff wouldn't be very helpful to English speaking guests but we found if we tried the very basic French we know they were more than helpful and we muddled through (reception staff talk wonder English and will help if struggling). When we visit our friends again we will definately use Hotel Meyer again. Only thing I can think of being negative is that a kettle in our room would have been very helpful for heating baby bottles. If you are bringing a baby it might be a good idea to invest in a travel kettle.
The spacey, comfortable room. being at the front side, the noise of the street early in the morning.
Very nice room. Quiet location. NIce garden. Helpful and friendly staff. Good walks in the area. Breakfast uninspiring. Food in brasserie of variable quality.
Location was wonderful.
The room was really big and very clean. The garden and solarium are lovely. It was quiet and extremely relaxing. Why is there no soap in the bathroom. People like to wash their hands after they go to the toilet! ... The TV was very small, but we didn't use it anyway.
it was very disappointing,it was inneed of renervating. the rooms where full of flys, all the walls ceiling windows and thebed wherecovered we payed extra for a balcony we could not use becouse of the flys
Nice location. Quiet. Good friendly service. Food reasonable. No soap dispenser in shower. Cooking not quite up to Luxembourg's usual high standard, but acceptable
Off road parking provided, multi lingual staff, good beer on a hot day. Nothing to do in the evening in the hotel or local village
Tranquil setting, quiet village, relaxed attitude towards smokers! Attentive staff. Good food.
good location sober room
Lovely hiking paths from hotel.
good, albeit invariable breakfast - Internet access (after some back and forth) - nice veranda/terrace lousy room, tiny bathroom, old, beat-up furniture, terrible room location and "view", thin walls, could hear the neighbors as if in same room; hotel locked after 11 PM-had to ring owner/manager out of bed to get in
The friendly staff they were very helpful
out of the way location in a very pretty area Bathroom was updated, beds were not.
friendly reception, good information, they should make the rooms a bit friendlier.
The food was geniunely outstanding and the proprietors are so wonderful -- they continually went out of their way to help us and to advise us on local points of interest and things to do. The hotel is a family run one and it is in a charming village.
Pleasant staff, clean rooms Old noisy building, beds make noise and the shower is lousy.
Very good food, old world charm e.g. real silver coffee pots and very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent family run hotel.Very friendly & helpful.Lovely food. N/A
Really great Hotel, Not a modern but very friendly and comfortable place in which to stay. Very close to the walking trails, and the dinner after a long day walking was absolutely beautiful. Will use again in the future.
Good Food, Happy hotel Staff
Every staff of this hotel were very kind for us and service was perfect. The taste of the restaurant is also excellent. We want to stay there again sometime.
The relaxed and personal atmosphere and the excellent food in the restaurant. Also its ideal location in a beautiful and quiet area of Luxemburg.
Nice location. Staff friendly. Looked after children very well. Quite basic and dated accommodation, but very clean and functional, with comfortable beds. 2-3 star rather than 4 star.
Me and my wife stayed there last week and learnt hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the restraunt very much. Would like to come back again someday.
Nicely located in the middle of the Mullerthal, an ideal base for day trips around the area. Nice garden area. No barbecue despite adverts promising this. We were given a smokers room despite our asking for a non-smoker room. Walls and ceiling were nicotine stained, or were they intentionally painted light brown? No shower curtain (Rm 33). Restaurant overpriced, a better, better priced restaurant is about 50 yards down the road. Smoking in the bar area meant the breakfast area smelled of smoke at times. The biggest problem however is the asylum seeker ghetto behind the neighbouring hotel ("Cascade") full of East European peasants. There is therefore a high crime risk, vehicles are parked in a public area and are so at particular risk - an alarm is a must! Remove all valuables from your cars. Insurance against vehicle theft also a must.
very friendly owners - excellent food in the restaurant in relation to the price there is nothing to complain
you can do nice walking trips (mullerthal trail) with the children, which were very relaxed and not to boring. the breakfast is very poor for a room from more than € 100 . Each morning the same cheese, ham and they did not refull for example the orange jus, which wasn't even real jus.
The friendliness of the staff, the food was superb and the ambiance was beautiful, also rooms were spacious and immaculate
excellent diner voor aanvaardbare prijs
Lovely hotel, owner is on site, excellent food, great location.
The Restaurant is excellent No Internet Access
Room was very cosy and clean with the possibility to use their SPA. What we did! Breakfast & dinner excellent. Extremely friendly staff. We will come back!
after a long drive from southern france the hotel was very welcoming, the room was of a high standard and it was everything I would expect from an established family run hotel
Staff was very helpful, and the restaurant was great. All the floors where vinyl, so it was a little loud.
Location. A beautiful area, perfect for cycling. Excellent weiss beer on tap! Good room with plenty of space but it did lack character. Having to wait more than 45 minutes to check out - no staff available to use computer. Lack of a bar snack menu for lunchtimes.
I have stayed at this hotel before and chose to go out of my way to stay there again. The staff are very friendly and the meals are excellent. The owners helped me plan my onward trip on both occasions I stayed there. Nein
Wonderful! Very friendly, that makes the whole difference. Besides, nice rooms, spa facilities are nice, nice wine list & a delicious local white beer
Friendly and helpful staff speaking a lot of languages, clean and modern room, free parking, great area for hiking ("Small Switzerland"), good breakfast buffet There was a small but irritating noise in my room due to the ventilation of the kitchen (bad bearing?), but only during evening meal times. Probably limited to this room only, and will be fixed soon.
