The room was nice and spacious, featuring modern design. The location is good if you're travelling further on. Breakfast not very rich, but nice quality. The fact that you cannot access the Spa area unless you are completely naked is absolute nonsense and discrimination!
Location and value for money
!! Non-smoking restaurant !! Should add air conditioning for the summer.
Room , facility is good. Reception people is friendly. Location is not in the center (need a car). Cleaning skill is poor.
Modern design, very light spacious and airy public areas. Helpful reception staff, restaurant menu and food quality very good. Access road not well signposted and car park and hotel entrance could be easier to find. During my stay, wind conditions meant constant draught and noise under room door.
Good hotel, staff very helpful with nice bar area. The hotel is too far away from the city centre for a walk with nothing of interest close by.
The spa area. The carpet in the room was not cleaned prior or during my stay.
Size and cleaniless of room Coffee and tea were at extra cost
Friendly staff, clean room and bathroom, nice hotel overall. Hotel is close to the highway thus very easy access. No A/C in room, but big room and windows so it was cool enough (although it wasn't a warm night either).
Comfortable Food good but expensive. Need a car to move around since it´s on a location outside town.
Very nice setting and location with a nice hotel.
The food was devine & the staff were very helpful & very plesant. The room (# 104) that I stayed in had no windows that could open & the air smelt, felt stuffy & was not very comfortable.
It is located at the centre of the city, (Groote Markt). It is convienient. The hotel was very historical, elegant. The staff were very friendly. My room was absolutely quite and had a big bathroom. I also enjoyed breakfast, and it was included in the price as well. To be honest it was really a pleasant stay in Bergen op Zoom!
room the access by car was not easy, due to the road works
the hotel spoilt our day in antwerp the bathroom ,no nice towels ,no toilettries, such as shampoo conditioner cotton buds shower cap and shall i go on.
Not much -- leaving it perhaps!! Oh yes it did have a trouser press!!! Lots. To begin with the hotel had no record of my arrival! The first time this has happened to me with Booking.com.. and I have used you a fair bit. I was shunted into a room in the bowels of the place with windows blacked out for 75% of their area. The hotel is an old fashioned hotel in the centre of the town and getting anywhere near it by car is a nightmare. I parked outside the town initially and walked in. The young manager presented me with a map - which turned out only to have about half the roads on it and gave no real indication of the extent of one way and complete no go roads into the place.. It was worse than Hampton Course Maze!! The young man was far from really helpful. The whole thing was a stressful experience!!!
The rooms are fantastic. Not like a regular boring hotel room. My room had a lot of character. the breakfast was also very good, especially for a Dutch hotel. Although the food in the hotel restaurant was excelent, the service could have been better, a lot better in fact.
Directly in the centre of Bergen op Zoom, quiet nice room, very clean. Car parking facility available. No coffee/tea making facility in the room. The breakfast was not too exciting.
Wonderful location in front of the cathedral.
Excellent place for a peaceful stay!
Given the choice and the quality (both average to low), the breakfast is too expensive (€14).
Friendly staff. Relaxing environment. English speaking TV channels. Coffee availability in room. Having to leave the building in the morning for breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was not as expected. Not enough water pressure.
Great Hotel with excellent staff, rooms were spacious and clean. Nice to have a terrace with the room. Excellent breakfast with the room. It is not located very close to shopping or a city centre.
The staff was helpful and spoke English. also, we liked the breakfast
staff a bit outdated rooms
the hospitality and helpfulness of the staf no
Very nice hotel, big rooms, excellent breakfast facility (old monastery), very clean and well maintained. Parking lot was big enough to accommodate all cars, no problems with parking. Hotel is located in great, small community, great nature and walk routes. Hotel restaurant is not that great, it is pricey, and not great food options - i like more vegetables in my plates but there are two close by restaurant/pubs that offer better local food choices.
The Hotel offers spacious rooms with good facilities.
Quiet location and very friendly staff We had great difficulty in getting a booking for dinner on the first night of our stay, we were not warned that we would need to pre book. As we had travelled quite a distance the last thing we wanted was to go out to search for a restuarant. After a lot of discussion we we told we could eat providing we went in straight away, as the restuarant was far from full we could not understand why there was a problem.
The building, the rooms, the restaurant were all beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The staff was accomodating and friendly. We hope to return.
Very nice historic building situated in a typical village of the region. Very quiet and modern inside It was a pity to stay in the annex appartment building and not in the main historic one
Pleasant room and very hospitable staff. The quality of the food in the restaurant is very good. Perhaps it's an idea to put a refrigerator in the standard room, especially during summer.
i do not like the breakfast the beacon and sausages are of poor quality its so boaring and needs a change
Great restaurant. Very nice breakfast. Plenty of free parking space. Comfortable room. No mini bar. Bed covers too small.
I really enjoy the employees. The Hotel is small enough that they remember you and always are pleasant and helpful. There is nothting that I do not like about the hotel. Sometimes I wish that there was a coffee shop so you could have a small quick meal instead of the restaurant dining room. Although the food is excellnet in the dining room, it takes a long time to dine. There is one small thing I owuld like and that is washcloths. It's a personal thing.
Size of room, service, good shower
It was near the company I was visiting.
The restaurant food is fantastic! Bring your own alarm clock. Wake up call is prompt, but if you prefer to use your own, there is not a clock / alarm in the room.
friendliness of staff, complimentary use of internet (wireless) I would like to propose to add a small bar (mini refrigerator) for drinks and snacks Most hotels have this in each guest room. Also, for business guests, an exercise room would be an added feature
i have nener had a more comforetable bed the breakfast was excellent the staff were brilliant
Hotel is located in a quiet area very close to the city center. Modern rooms with comfort. Can be recommended. It is not so convenient to have to cross the street in order to get to the room and main building with reception and breakfast. Also the fact that in our particular room only the windows at the external fire staircase can be opened, is not so nice.
They offer Free in room wireless internet access.
friendly, clean hotel. easy to acces from the motorway, in nice area not far from centre
Nice and big room; staff ; wifi Stairs, ...
central location no tea or coffee making facilities in the room no bulb in bedside lamp no lift to upstairs rooms
Free wireless internet Room was outside in another building. Prices are way too high due to lack of competition in this city
This is a comfortable and traditional dutch hotel. Good bar facilities and good breakfast although no other catering. Quiet location but close to town centre.
free internet access
excellent location, quiet surroundings, nice modern rooms with view on Schelde, relaxed atmosfere - room rather small for a Suite Royal - breakfast rather simple although pricy - no internet - some growing pains like bad closing doors windows, vent in bathroom not working
warm welcome, quiteness, good cuisine
fish soup and bread, outside view, not clean in the garderobe and the baby sit and the baby bed, acoustic in the room very bad, tv programs for foreigners not available...
The rooms are very spacious and well appointed, the beds are amazing The wait in the restaurant of the hotel was unexpectedly long at over 2 hours. The food was wonderful, but we would have appreciated knowing it would take as long as it did.
Great location, great view, very friendly&helpful staff, nice hotel atmosphere, good breakfast&restaurant No bar area to sit in the evening
Warm and proffessional staff, good restaurant, need room, great area Nous revenons We will come back Wir kommen nochmals Wij komen nog een keer To bad that dogs are not allowed
Not easy to find it is over 6 km from the village which is indicated all the guide or leaflets are in dutch should be in english or german also
The Hotel is really on the sea side and there is not much else around so it's nice and calm. There are not restaurants nearby other than the one from the hotel which is on the expensive side.
Great location and nice rooms with good view. Restaurant is a bit pricey but the food is excellent. Staff seemed a bit disinterested. We accidentally spilled some drink on the table, which wasn't wiped up for the whole 3 hours we sat there.
The staff were most welcoming and generous the guy snoring next door!
The whole atmosphere and staffing were super, the evening meal was excellent. Our location could have not been better. The staircase was a little steep for some like myself with weak legs, however the lady at reception did give me help taking bags upstairs.
The staff(owners) were very welcoming and friendly, the room was much bigger than expected. Very comfortable and stylish. My only criticism is that the bed was two large singles pushed together which kept separating and moving around, which is not what is wanted on a romantic weekend break.
The whoile experience was very good. They made us very welcome on arrival and were very friendly and helpfull throughout. 10 out of 10 It was not a "not like" but would suggest they put the heating on inthe rooms before arrival, especially as it was minus 4 outside. Not a comp[laint, just a suggestion.
Very clean and spacious bedrooms and bathroom The beds against the sloping ceiling meant you could not sit in bed and read. The heating system was confusing!
Easy to find, room was clean and well designed.
Clean, comfortable and value for money Beds to small
the room was really nice and spatious
Very friendly staff and very helpful. Excellent food at a reasonable price in comforatble sorroundings. All staff spoke and understood English.
Friendly, efficient reception staff and warm well appointed room, (though on the small size and only had shower). No, stay was fine.
Opposite to Train station & bus depots so convenient for further travel into township. It's the first hotel that we've stayed at that didn't have a fridge in the room. We wanted to throw out some rubbish that was neatly in a small box that they wouldn't dump in their large bin???
The room was not properly cleaned before i occupied it. It was very warm and there was no ability to turn the heating off. I informed the hotel that i was working night shift - i culd not gain entry into the hotel for 5 minutes one morning so checked out in the evening and took my luggage to work on the last night as i had an early train. Was not 4 star standard
rooms ok. Nothing special but good enough and with no surprises.
Staff were helpful and friendly and rooms were clean Breakfast, not very appetising
good room, excellent location, friendly staff but the breakfast is simply horrible. breakfast
Efficient staff Breakfast was expensive and unless you got down early poorly stocked up.
Close to railway station
Abba Music Dark lobby
Size of bed (like a prison cot). Additional charge for internet connection.
The hotel is easy to get to from the main road system going through Roosendaal Building work being carried out reduced the size of the car parking area.
The hotel looked nicer than it does on the website. The restaurant & lunch box service are wonderful. Professional & friendly service, cosy hotel. The car park was very useful and spacious. It was harder to find than I thought. You need to look out for the sign in the sky rather than for the building at eye level. The wifi Internet connection was unreliable at the time of my visit but they were working on it.
near to the motorway and good value would have liked a double bed
Able to provide food for late arrival - up to 2230 hrs. Asked for non smoking and that was all that was available.Roomm and bathroom very dirty. Toilet stained, shower very dirty.
Any 3 stars hotel around Breda, is better than this one. If you have one problem in your room they will invite you to check out instead of solve the problem! Service/Staff really no professionals.
The Beer and Dart Room were excellent no
Clean and comfortable room, good shower. Excellent selection for breakfast. Reasonable value for money. No specific secure bicycle parking.
mini bar was not restocked, nor coffee or creamers. Shower inadequate as it soaked the bathroom. Restaurant food very basic.
Rooms were very clean and the staff were really friendly. There are no double rooms. All twins. But the rooms were really comfortable anyway.
the privacy liked all
Resonably sized room, good bathroom. Traffic noise. High room temperature, despite moderate/cool outside temperature.
Good sized comfortable room; the restaurant and bar provided a nice atmosphere to relax in and we had an excellent meal which was not too expensive. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The B&B owner and family, who live in a part of the building, have remodelled beautifully a building dating to the 1840s. The rooms are basically new apartments, and much nicer and roomier than local hotel rooms. They prepare a hearty Dutch breakfast every morning at the convenience of the guests. Perhaps equally important, Mr. Van der Schenk takes great efforts to ensure the guests' stay is fun and fulfilling. In my case, he looked up the bus schedule to ensure I could arrive on time at my academic conference in the neighboring town. With his previous background in the hospitality industry, Mr. Van der Schenk understands how to make guests feel at home.
