good location, nice staff, comfortable bed
Location, price Eventhough I booked a (cheaper) room, I had to choose different (more expensive) one because it wasn't available. !? I think it's becomming common practice to get more from guest because I experienced it not only in this one hotel. Room was too small but I can recommend this hotel for young travelers with no special needs.
Personnel was very kind and very helpful. Ladies tried their best to help us during the stay. Rooms are very big and quite well equipped, although AC in one of the rooms was not working. Definetely it is not a four star hotel (it is kind of comfortable hostel rather). There are few well equipped rooms for let, situated in a small office / shopping centre. There are no staff in the building after 10 pm and till 8 am (I wonder how I would be able to leave the place early morning?) There are no parking space. And the worst thing - the price quoted on Booking.com web page was EUR 50 per night per room. But the real price was higher - 75 E.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable and clean. TV and Internet were unreliable.
No window, air conditional out of order! No tv in standard rooms. should to be find during booking.
The staff tried hard, but were amateurish; I guess they haven't been in hotel business long.
stuff was very friendly and helpfull. location was good near the city center.
helpful and dedicated staff, good location for those who wish to visit a downtown, pretty big room no aircondition in the room, just behind the window... trams... from 5am - undearable rumble, so you don't need an alarm clock ;)
Easy to find. Friendly staff. They all spoke english!!!! Easy access to city centre and surrounding road network. Couldnt fault it. Perhaps a little limited if you were planning on staying over a week.
Very nice hotel, located near the city center. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking is near hotel. Best breakfast we ever ate at hotel.
Nice rooms, central position Poorly trainned stuff!!!! No smile, no good morning ...such basic greeting can make your day nicer. Such hotel should offer better coffee morning and fresh bread!!! And one very important thing: If the guest receives a phone call, please do not assume she/he is not in the room!!! Always transfer a call to the room!!!
Friendly staff, good location.
I enjoyed the way the staff was so helpful and kind.
clean, comfortable, very close to centre, nice staff
The girl at reception was very helpful and we got a great rate of exchange. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying there again if in the area. Breakfast was very good, location was near city center and staff was very friendly. Great start to our Czech adventure.
no bath in the room
the rooms were nice
Good room, nice modern bathroom, clean hotel, helpful staff. Not all that central, walking back after dinner the immediate area seems a little unsafe. No air conditioning so could get hot if it's warm outside.
we did not book a garage for our motorcycle, there were none available but they let us use the staff garage at no extra charge
We got a double bed room on the top floor that had sofa, as well. The room was very spacious, comfortable and perfectly clean. The bathroom had heated floor!!! and clean and had big shower cubicle. The hotel is pet friendly. Our labrador came with us and she was welcomed, too and she could come down to the restaurant as well. I can only recommend this hotel to anyone, it would be my choice again should I visit the city another time.
Downtown, city location. Small, but clean rooms. Restaurant food was good. Hard to find location, due to one-way streets and current road construction.
close to city centre, value for money
very helpful staff a bit off centre
I liked the quirky rooms and the welcome drinks, very nice touch. Breakfast was outstanding!! Probably the best selection I have ever had. Hotel itself is fine, there are major building works going on next door which spoils the area, although the hotel staff did provide ear plugs and the noise level was fine.
The affable personnel. Pure, cozy hotel in city center The restaurant operating mode doesn't correspond to the declared. For the second day прибывания in hotel have been compelled to search for other place for a supper though came back in hotel to sit at hotel restaurant.
quiet location i do not think it is a 3 star hotel, i.e. only 2 star
Hotel Bayer is close to Plzen city centre; Breakfast is ok Facilities are quite old and would need some refreshment.
Nothing Dirty room and bathroom, spider networks!,
Hotel owner very accommodating. She allowed me to check-in early and park my car in private parking for a minimal fee. I was allowed to pay the overnight stay in Euro instead of the Czech koruna, Kč. Private hotel parking is very difficult so if you have a long car, you will have to park outside on the public street more than likely. I have a small car so I was able to park inside the hotel parking.
Central location, excellent internet via ethernet (they provided the cable), friendly staff, and an excellent secured parking garage.
Everything perfect. Location, price, hotel, staff. Pilsen is a really nice city but if you do not have much time you can plan wisely and visit everything in a day.
peaceful place with overview towards the city, churches a bit slow receptionists (both at evening and morning) but kind
The mini-bar was stocked with well-priced Pilsner Urquell beer and the staff was very friendly, despite a lack of English fluency. The lady at the front desk seemed astonished that two mini-bars could be completely exhausted in one evening. Check out the night life in Plsen and you'll know why we opted to drink away our eveing while watching Czech television. Proximity to the Pilsner Urquell brewery is outstanding (less than three miles) and the tour there is great. You'll be drinking it with and between all meals in Prague. Might as well see where and how it is made. A worthwhile stop on a driving tour through the Czech Republic. The "path" to downtown Plsen is little more than a dirt road and a walk across a poorly lit bridge. Not recommended for solo travellers, I would say. Also, the location of the secured parking lot (there are a few spots directly behind the hotel which the staff didn't recommend for safety reasons) shall always remain a mystery despite much pointing and direction giving by the receptionist. This lot would appear to be necessary, as a fellow hotel guest had the rear windshield of his Jetta knocked out. Do not leave anything of value in your car here as theft seems to be a big problem.
Staff very friendly and tried there best to assist people with every type of query
Kitchen smell all arround hotel
The room was very clean and confortable, the staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast was Ok. The path to the city center is not particularly nice, you have the feeling to get into the town periphery... the hotel lacks the lobby-hall.
There was a great view from the window -- you could see the main church, but only if you stand up on the chair, which was kindly provided. All the things that coume along with the 4 star hotel didn't fit in. No working wifi, the room surely needed some refurnishing and renovating.
The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the main square. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Excellent location - quiet and peaceful but only 10 min. walk through the Roosveltuv most to get to the Main Market Square of Plzen; nice English spoken staff, clearness of our room acceptable; breakfast also OK - with warm food (but more fruits and vegetables needed) Our room was rather small and needed some refreshment (numerous stains on walls, problems with a shower); "a secured parking" means places in the street watched by the hotel camera (but no problem with it during our stay)
Friendly staff, rooms nice an clean Don't be fooled by the four stars, you'll eventually end up in a small and basic hotel room with no extras that you might expect from 4*. Also the location is the "backyard of the city", although looks nice in the descriptions.
The location, the helpfulness of the staff and the lovely breakfast.
It was near to the location where I had to work. It was in the middle of no where and restaurant was not open on a sunday night.
internet access, good price vs. quality, quiet, excellent service horrible scrambled eggs for breakfast
Good hotel, very nice staff, good restaurant, good and fresh breakfast, best hotel in town. The bed should be softer.
The best Ibis I have ever stayed at. Staff was incredibly nice, the room was exceptional for the price, breakfast was very good. Eggs were salty, but that is my personal taste, others might like salt.
even we have been almost the only guests (Xmas time), all personnel were very friendly. It is also very nice that in each room is an extra blanket. Very nice hotel!!!
Very good location. Friendly staff with good English and German. Good breakfast. Can be recommended.
vewry friendly staff
The hotel was simple, new and clean. There was good bus connection to the town centre and bus station where from you get buses to Prague and Prager airport every hour. The hotel was situated in the industrial zone, and it was quite noisy early in the morning. There was not possible to buy the bus tickets for the city bus in the hotel which I found pretty inconvenient.
The rooms are nicely designed, the bathrooms are excellent and I was happy to see a hotel room with an actual shower, instead of a handshower in a bathtub. The receptionist was very helpfull with all enquiries and her english was a lot better than other places in the city. The location is the hotels key sellingpoint however in the heart of the city with a view of the historical church. Great value for money all in all. Well done! Breakfast could have been better. Bread was dry and not a big selction. The coffe (automated) was terrible,- proper filter coffee would be a big improvement. A deacent cup of coffee in the morning is so important (!).
For the price it ticked all the boxes staff were were helpful and competent and spoke good english
The location on the main square and in the absolute centre of old Plzen town. Excellent for sight seeing bars and resturants. This hotel is not up to a western 4 star classification. Arrived after 10:00 p.m. and could not get any food or service from the hotel, not even a sandwich. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. If you wanted tea or coffee you were sent to their public coffee bar on the ground floor. Staff friendly but not sure they know what is expected of a 4 star hotel service.
Good breakfast buffet, nice dinner menu. Central location walking distance to the town and the shops
Location Noisy due to people passing outside of the hotel
Nice location in the city center, comfortable rooms friendly and professional reception staff. The water from the tap in the bathroom took forever to become colder than lukewarm.
Location on the square. Breakfast was very good.
The Spa was very clean and the staff was nice to us, the breakfast was good. We left a camera in the hotels’ spa; we were the last ones to leave that night. The next day the first person in the spa was the hotel cleaning lady, but we were told the camera was not there. I know it was our fault for leaving the camera in there, it was not a very expensive camera, we were just disappointed to loose the picture from the trip to CZ and sad about the fact that people are so willing to trade their self worth for such a small thing. I can not recommend this hotel. A 4 star hotel should have an honest staff. Thanks/Sincerely
Hotel is perfectly well located in city centre of Plzen, and therefore very easy to find (look for the big cathedral and you are there), with excellent parking facilities. Staff is very friendly and puts as much effort as possible in making your life as easy as possible. Countryside on south side of Plzen is well worth the visit with a lot of nice small villages p.e. with nice old castles from the middle ages. Hotel is defenitely overrated as 4-star: 3-star is more suitable, prooven by the 3-star prices, which gives a better match. Plzen in itself is not very interesting for a city trip --> for a city trip you better think of Karlovy Vary in stead, which is not far away from Plzen. Remark for Dutchies: to my surprise for breakfast there is a Douwe Egberts-coffee machine --> time for DE to put some effort in making better coffee machines.
I liked very much the position right at the center of the city. moreover, this hotel dispay a restaurant facility good food and not expensive, and a cafè open till up 10 pm, where you could also eat something. The only slight problem was related to the fee of parking, a bit expensive related to the country and to the hotel price.
The emergecy lights were on in the room all night making it very kight for sleeping
Very clean. Rooms are Very Very Nice. Can not complain at all.
it was close the the trolley bus stop and the breakfast being included was great. Also, the employees spoke pretty good English which was helpful.
This hotel was clean, and spacious. The bed was a little to hard for my taste. The refrigerator di not work and the staff did nothing to help.
The hotel itself was great; modern rooms with excellent facilities. The check-in/check-out personnel were friendly and efficient. However, I eat dinner in the downstairs restaurant and it was a distressing experience. I eat dinner in the downstairs restaurant and it was a distressing and headache provoking experience. The food itself was fine, but there was a commercial radio station (with attendant jingles, shouting, wailing advertisements, and raucous music) playing at ultra-high volume levels from a speaker directly over my head.
Very clean and confortable room. The hotel is located near the highway and a 5min drive to the city centre.
Hotel staff were flexibile when we were driving rally at Klatovy. Thats why we must arrive early in mornings and we have catch breakfast packets. It was very good service. Thanks!
well placed and equipped hotel. Rooms are nice, quiet. Reception was .quick
the staff was friendly the rooms were clean the location was excellent and no hidden costs cant think of anything
very nice hotel No Swimmingpool
very nice breakfast The receptionist was crying and was almost on nervous breakdown as she was by herself in the reception and was not able to handel clients claims. We had to wait 30 minutes!
The rooms were beautiful, bathroom extremely clean. Staff very helpful & friendly. And the 24 hour snack bar at reception was a big help! Would deffinately reccommend this hotel for anyone looking for a little luxury & would stay here again!
The entire experience
Good location. Good value for money.
The staff were fantastic and helpful beyond what could be expected of them. My stay was very pleasant.
Very much confortable room
We hade some special request wchich we put in our reservation's comments but the reception did not get this info.
This hotel was great. It was well situated close to the old town and square and also near to the Pilsner Urquell brewery. The hotel itself is very clean and modern and has some nice facilities including a gym, restaurant/bar and internet access (although internet costs apply). The staff were friendly and very helpful in suggesting things to do and see and also good places to eat. We were lucky enough to get a room here for almost the same price it would have cost for a bed in a hostel, which made this place doubly great to stay in. There is also a bar/restaurant directly across the road that does good Czech meals, is cheap and is popular with locals (which is always a good sign). I thought the fees for internet access were quite expensive. It would be better if free internet access was provided with the rooms.
Friendly and helpful staff, most spoke some English. Large comfortable refurbished room/bathroom with balcony. Excellent breakfast with some hot options. A wedding party in the outside bar area below my second floor room meant a rather noisy night.
We like this hotel because wasn't exspensive with very good service and food and very clean as well. No complaints
Music, welcome It would be great If it is more heating (warmth) at hotel rooms
Don't expect too much from the restuarant or the breakfast. Otherwise it is comfortable and good value for money.
Very nice hotel but a fair walk into town and the carpark is at the end of the street, secure but a long walk carring luggage and helmets.
Clean large rooms Terrible breakfast, loud position
We booked 2 double rooms but then we were 5 people, we phoned during our trip and they arranged our rooms without any problem and the final price was very honest.
I liked the very luxurious and tasty breakefast, charming rooms and free internet access.
The food was delicious.
Everyone at this hotel was helpful. easy parking. easy internet. good food. good location.
Great room, much bigger than expected. The design was great, the bed very comfortable. Good reception staff. very quiet. Convienent free parking. Choice of TV channels. Breakfast wasn't the best.
good restaurant for very reasonable prices. very efficient personnel, very clean hotel.
Big, comfortable hotel for business travellers, free of charge internet use and parking space
We stayed in this hotel for a stopover on our trip. We arrived early evening en left first thing in the morning. We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed the very eleborate breakfast the next morning. The restaurant, although serving tasty food, was not very clean. Cobwebs and flies....
Hotel is very clean as are the spacious rooms. Very modern furniture, large bathroom. On each floor of the hotel, close to the elevator you find a coffee machine where you can serve yourselves for free as well as 2 Macs which you can use for free.... Breakfast buffet is very nice and despite the reviews of other guests we found the qualilty of the food in the hotel restaurant good (à-la-carte-menu).
Hotel is new, clean, comfortable, good location We have booked double room with bath, the receptionist gave us twin room with shower
Excellent parking, easy in/out access. Beautiful modern decor (jazz), great food, pleasant staff, across the street to the Plzen Urquell brewery (tour/museum). Easy walk downtown. Just a pleasant spot to spend a few days.
Exceptionally clean and comfortable hotel. Excellent location, directly opposite Pilsner brewery (brewery tour and museum are both excellent too) and only 5 minute walk to main square. The food is very good - Thai choices limited but delicious . . . so good in fact that we ate in hotel both nights!
business traveller friendly, great service, great food, spacious comfy well equipped rooms lack of bath in room / shower only
perfectly located to the center, easy to reach, staff very functional, helpfull and gentle, very cleaned, very good breakfast
Everything was perfect. Rooms very clean, spacious, confortable. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Right across from the brewery. Easy to find. Easy to get to the center of the town from the hotel.
the design of the rooms, the security features that are in the hotel. The location of the hotel ( in front of the Pilsener brewery ). THe reeinforced glass windows in the rooms. none
The hotel was ideally located for my visit. Within walking distance of the town square and Cathederal as well as close to the main brewerey (just over the road) and the brewery museum as well as all the other attractions based locally. The staff were very helpfully and the food offered in the restaurant for both breakfast and in the evening was very nice. The rooms were very taseful and were cleaned daily to an impecpable standard. Overall I enjoyed my stay very much and would definetly stay there again. It is located on quite a busy road junction that can be quite noisy during the day although at night it is much quieter.
Very new (2008) hotel between railway station and old town
Fantastic - very nicely renovated manor. Very nice rooms, really comfortable, fantastic restaurant with their own beer and classical czech cuisine at it's best.
The hotel is tidy including clean room(s) and access to a restaurant offering a wide variety of delicious food easy. Parking in garage (!) arranged next to elevator (!) was a nice gesture. Thank you. Our room dedicated for a disabled room was not actually what we expected. Small things like handles to support moving in bathroom were missing.
Room was very clean and comfortable.
We had a large room in the back, so it was quiet.
Large room, very clean, modern furnishings (recently redecorated), quality bathroom, WIFI in the room (without extra charge)
Great old hotel- I think it genuinely added to the experience of staying in Plzen. Room was huge, bathrooms a little odd but clean. Breakfast adequate. Would definitely stay again. No curtains on the showers.
The staff was pleasant, as was the breakfast. We all slept ok. Very affordable! [1.] The hotel was spooky! Large rooms with giant doors, dark hallways - like something out of The Shining. [2.] We had booked a room without bathroom so the communal bathroom was across the hall. It was equally frightening with open tile/concrete shower stalls. I can definitely say get a room with bathroom! [3.] There was a refrigerator in our room but it did not function. [4.] Wi-Fi did not function from within our room. Maybe the walls are too thick or something. We had to sit in the hallway near the staircase.
Very good location - just 2 minutes by walk from old town, near tramways and with parking place (additionaly 170HF per day). There was an information that the room has shared bathroom, in fact - on the floor there were about 50 rooms and only 2 toliettes!!! There were 3 showers, but without any curtains, doors, nor lokcs in the main door! Disaster! Good that we stayed just one night and in the room there was a sink...
The price and location. Also room was huge. The hotel is Extremely outdated. Please understand this is not a standard US hotel. Old building with some charm to it. We were treated well and the rooms were large. Good value and location. The deco was somewhat spooky sorta like the haunted house at Disney World. Despite this for location and value etc... We would stay there again.
Location is good and the rooms are large. The shower! The worst thing I've ever seen, it looked like a prison shower block. 3 unisex! Showers in a row with no curtain, screen, nothing and right next to the toilet so that the water went under your feet if you were on the loo. disgusting! I would not have expected this from a hostel, let alone a hotel.
Luxury lobby design, nice and quiet location right next to old town. Rooms are quite old, but clean. Budget rooms is good for a short stay. Cool retro elevator. Car parking. Rooms and halls deserve refreshment, but not a complete renovation - otherwise a unique retro atmosphere will be lost
We basically shower and sleep there so no need for fancy "stuff!" The staff is friendly and comfortable and the location is great. Breakfast if good and there is always plenty of food. We stayed in one room with a very large bathroom, that was very nice. We stayed in the Slovan last year, I don't remember all of the plants, that was nine. We will stay there again when we come to see our son in Plzen next year!
The friendly staff, The location, The cost, A small thing But the hoten lackes a lounge/bar! somewhere to sit and relax.
internet is really not available which is different with what promised on booking.com, and the lady of the hotel pushed me to get internet connection in their restaurant so that you would have dinner over there. Room is just can say clean, but have strange smell. All in all, the room rate is really low.
service reception desk was excellent
convenient to activities, cleanliness, free internet
New and clean. Service was excellent. N/A
The room was very big, with separate bed room and separate salon. The satellite tv was broken. The refrigerator did not work properly (outside very hot, inside not cold).
Nice, friendly and helpful. Situated nicely in the centrum, within a short walk to the square. Easy access to local and further attractions. Nothing.
great little hotel - fantastic staff, modern clean rooms, excellent amenities such as free internet and breakfast. Also location was great. Close to town but in a nice quiet area.
very nice! perfect position in the centre of the city
