Pros: Customer service was outstanding both picking up the car and in returning. Will rent from dollar again.

A lot of wasted money
Pros: The car was nice, although it smelled pretty weird.
Cons: The car cost more than advertised, by about $100, so it was almost double of what I expected. The insurance I bought online with the car (3rd party) I was told was useless, and they were known to not honor the purchase if something were to happen, so that's $30 I won't get back. All in all it was a lot of wasted money.

Pros: Drop off was incredibly fast... in and out in under 5 minutes!
Cons: There was a dent on the side of the car that I saw before taking the rental and let the person know and he seemed to think it was no big deal. I did not want to be charged for it so made sure he annotated it but I'm sure I could've been charged if that hadn't happened beforehand

Well I'll never use Dollar again, that's for sure...
Pros: They did finally supply me with a car for the amount that this site specified. It was not the car nor was it the class of car as promised by this web sites reservation.
Cons: During the reservation, I was asked if I needed insurance. I did so I checked the button for $9.00 per day. When the reservation was completed, the funds for the insurance was charged to my account right away and it stated the rental fee would be secured at time of pick up. No big deal. But when I get to the counter the attendant states that I need to use my personal car insurance OR get insurance directly from Dollar Rental. The insurance for the reservation web site is not recognized as valid insurance. They did not budge and it cost me an extra $186.00 for 6 days of rental. That is more than 6 months of FULL auto insurance out in the rest of the world. What a scam.... Now I need to fight for a refund on the $9/day insurance from the web site that was not allowed.

I declined the fuel option but agent put it on my
Pros: Too irritated to like anything
Cons: Fuel charge that was added when it was declined and now I have to get it removed. Customer service department was not customer friendly

Pros: Service was not as good as competitors. I'm used to someone walking us to the car, walking around it to look for damage, and checking how much gas. I had to do this myself and go get someone to mark the issues. I would do it again to save money but not worth the $2 I saved this time.

Agent at airport was wonderful!
Pros: I had a lot of luggage. I was confused as to where to get the rental car. She came with me to the rental car, helped pack the luggage in the car, showed me exactly where to go. Again, she was amazing!
Cons: Everything was good.

Only rent again as a single.
Pros: It was there. It was available in the terminal rather than having to take a shuttle.
Cons: I misunderstood that the spouse would be a driver if registered at check in. No soap. I will never use them again unless traveling by myself.

Great Customer Service - In & Out
Pros: Great desk agent and check-in process. Very helpful and knowledgeable as well as pleasant to deal with.
Cons: Car interior smelled like the former renter may have been a smoker. It could have benefited from the windows being left open to air it out (that's what I did and it was fine).

the Spirit Airlines of rental cars
Pros: The shuttle bus when dropping off the car left promptly
Cons: I booked a "special surprise" vehicle only to find out it was a subcompact. Pickup counter made me search on my phone to change it without it costing a fortune. Since I had a different drop off they handpicked the grossest car possible that they wanted to get off the lot. Dollar is the Spirit Airlines of cars.

Very expensive, charges unclear.
Cons: First off, I was told AAA was accepted and when i picked up the car they said it would not be accepted because I picked up the car after 7PM. Never heard of that before. The guy at the counter was very nice and helpful, he did upgrade us to a larger car and since i had elderly folks with me, he brought the car out of the garage for us. He took all the info for the additional driver and I signed for a total of $360 but when I dropped it off, the bill was $480. I was told that the original bill i signed did not include the additional driver and that since the manager was off for 2 days no one could help me. Very expensive, never again

The car reserved was not the car.
Pros: Car was clean
Cons: Started out with a compact car. This is not what I wanted. Stopped at another place and exchanged it. Causing me to have to pay $60 more.

Bait and switch
Pros: The price was better than anywhere else.
Cons: I booked a "large" car online and when I got there they told me the price was for a compact. Had to pay more. Kayak screwed up....

Cons: when i drop it off no one was there to inspect the car , then next day they charge me 300$ more and they said thats because of smoking in the car !!!! I never ever smoke a cigarette in my entire life . they are fraud .

Dollar blew it
Cons: Made my reservation online for my wife and indicated pickup at 10 pm. Had confirmation number and rental details. She showed up at desk at airport and it was closed - 10 pm. She called 800 number and was told that because there was no incoming flight number on reservation, there was no car. ended up having to rent another car at much higher rate. will never rent from dollar again.

Car died, had to call AAA because you guys wouldn'
Cons: My car had a near flat which I discovered after getting on the highway and it pulled so badly I had to stop and figure out what was going on. Discovered a busted hubcap and out of line bumper...someone had hit something pretty hard before I ever got the thing. Got to dc.....and air quit blowing cold because I was losing power. Wouldn't start three different times, kept sayin incorrect key (because battery was dying) went to leave my hotel to albeit second half of my drive, car was completely dead. Called CS and was told they would come jump and exchange vehicles....then called back and said it would cost 80 dollars for a jump for YOUR car....and I would have to drive it out to get a replacement that actually ran. Thank god for the guys at the DC airport during exchange. They were amazing, specifically the elder gentleman named Paul. He made the transition smooth and even transferred my luggage. And apologized for the car breaking down on us. He redeemed you guys completely in my book.

Great Staff / Great Value
Pros: Great staff and service. Dayton Airport Dollar staff do a great job - friendly, helpful and efficient! Great value! Renting a full-size car with unlimited mileage for a week for under $200 is great!

Pros: Everything from checkin to return was well organized.
Cons: We didn't get a list of the special features, such as not finding a USB plug until the last day. It would have been very useful early on. Also, it took a while to figure out that there wasn't a remote release for the gas filler and that one only had to push in on the gas lid.

Pros: I liked the car a lot.
Cons: I didn't like the receptionist who helped me at the airport. I arrive in the late afternoon and there was no one in line so her attitude was unjustified. Then, her directions to find the car were quick and undetailed. I then didn't know if I had to check in with someone before I took the car like many car rentals do. And then the drop off was a little confusing because there was no one to check in with again. Maybe this works for the company, but for the consumer it can leave an uneasy feeling wondering, "Am I doing this right?"

Pros: The agents were nice. That's all
Cons: When renting the vehicle I was not informed that I would need a certain amount on my card to rent the vehicle. So I got dropped off at the location and was not able to rent the car. I had to call a cab to get back home. So I didn't get to go where I need to go thanks to the misinformation.

Good car, Good service, but out of cars?
Pros: My car was great and got good gas mileage
Cons: The line at the counter was long and slow for pickup. We were told Dollar was out of cars even though we had reservations. There was only one person working the counter who had been on for hours without a break. She was smiling and absolutely fantastic--she saved the day.

I was deceived and overcharged...
Pros: The car performed well. Customer service reps were nice.
Cons: I was told that if my requested car was not available I'd get an upgrade for no additional charge which was a lie and a trap. I will have to spread the info along. I was supposed to have pk 271 but paid 362 instead. Very upset

LDW was added even though I declined
Pros: The desk agent was very friendly, even finding me an additional discount
Cons: However, I told her that I wanted to decline all coverages, but LDW was added anyway. I did not catch this until much later, after I had signed the contract and left the facility and Dollar would not remove the extra $29 per day (5 days).
