8.8 Excellent
Pros: College Hill House is a little piece of luxury and tranquility. Stayed here for only one night and I wish it was for forever. The house is amazing the style of decor is bang on so beautiful. The outside areas are stunning so well looked after and the gardens are beautiful to look at or even sit in for the evening. The room was generously sized with a very comfortable bed. Also had a TV which was nice to have of you wanted to watch something just before going to sleep. Strange to praise a shower but it's worth a mention to say is was great. The breakfast in the morning was all homemade with fruits, cereals, ham, cheese selection and then a home cooked breakfast to whatever you wanted. Absolutely delicious especially the homemade compote and scones. There's too many great things about this B&B that I'm probably forgetting things. If you want an amazing stay in Slane but somewhere hidden but not too far out of reach College Hill is definitely worth it. Would be back in the morning if I could. Thank you for our short but very sweet stay. Ashley & Cormac

Pros: Beautiful property, friendly and charming hosts. Sat and talked with Raymond about the history of the property and honestly wish we could have stayed longer to hear more. Our stay was a highlight of our trip. Close proximity to Newgrange, Slane Castle, and downtown Drogheda. Breakfast was incredible, freshly sourced and prepared. Gardens were beautiful. Room was quiet, spacious, and simply beautiful. Thank you Raymond and Juliet, best stay we've ever experienced at a Homeaway property.
7.9 Good
Pros: Fabulous entryway through the forest and lovely friendly staff. Comfy beds and really tasty breakfast.
Cons: No soap in the bathrooms at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house and property are so lovely! Our room was huge and full of light with super tall windows. Enormous bathroom with claw foot tub and very large separate shower. Breakfast in the tearoom was delicious and cozy. The owners are very nice and helpful. Wi-Fi was fast, the bed and pillows were comfortable.
Cons: A king sized bed in such as enormous room would have made the stay perfect. Also, an iron would be helpful too - clothes get wrinkly traveling and it’s embarrassing to go about in crumpled shirts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely. So nice to be able to have a lovely bath. The continental breakfast was delicious. Chatting to the owners and hearing some of the history really helped like the place even more.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely estate with an interesting back story.
Cons: No plug for the beautiful bathtub.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was good but not enough choice for a vegetarian. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet so the sleep quality was excellent. The gardens are still a work in progress and have the potential to be something really special.
Cons: The TV was small and couldn't be seen if sitting on the couch. I would like to have the tea and coffee making facility in the room instead of the hallway. I think it is a bit overpriced as the facilities could have been better.

Pros: The bed in the room we were in was great (the bird room). However the bed in one of the other rooms (the river view room) would be too small for tall people (it's closed at the foot of the bed)? the breakfast was amazing in fornt of the fire! Pros: Large room. Good shower.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff extremely friendly and helpful especially Ursula and Ann Marie on reception. A good breakfast with several choices of hot meal together with usual pastries and cereals. Easy access and only 20 minutes from Dublin Airport. Due to our flight being delayed, we arrived later than expected. We ate in the bar area as there was a wedding reception being held in the function room. A good meal with sizeable portions although a little on the expensive side. Very tasty though with a pint of Guinness! We actually booked a room (direct) to stay in the following week on our way back to the airport. Good that there is tea making facilities in the room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the hotel was very easy to find. We also loved that we were in easy access of everywhere. The hotel was lovely and clean and provided tea and coffee in the the room which was a nice touch after our journey.
Cons: Our towels were duly changed on day two but surprisingly, our teacups and sheets weren't. That was disappointing. Breakfast was good although we are charged more if we stay at the hotel which was a little strange. We were however informed that this was because we could also choose from the breakfast bar. We came down quite late so the breakfast bar didn't look very appetising by the time we arrived.

5.8 Okay
Cons: Is more self-catering than bed and breakfast. Inn not open early for cooked breakfast so had to bring our own and cook.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location for getting to Tankardstown House was great. Easy check in and check out.
Cons: Very thin curtains, couldn't sleep with the light in the morning. No hot water for showering in the morning.
7.5 Good
Pros: An enjoyable stay, would consider going again.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Shower room drains stank. Breakfast only available from 11.00am
5.0 Okay
Cons: To be honest I thought it was quite pricey for what we got. The bed was very basic, the bed linen a little lacking, as were the towels. And for 110 euro it would have been good to get breakfast included. Having said that the room was clean and a good size. The Inn is nice too.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here as we had a wedding nearby. Loved it here, room was huge and the bed was super comfy. Staff were absolutely lovely and the breakfast in the bar was superb. Would highly recommend
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The room was large and appeared well appointed although one bedside lamp had no bulb in it. The wi-fi did work, at least. The young girl who appeared to be doing all the serving was very helpful. They sent a staff member out to give me a lift to the property as there were no taxis available, which was kind.
Cons: There was no 'front of house'. I asked to leave my bags early, which they said I could, but there was no-one to receive them. The property claimed to be in Slane but was actually miles from anywhere with no taxi service available, and I was on foot. There were cockroaches both on the tea tray and in the bathroom. There was supposedly a 'help yourself' breakfast available downstairs in the kitchen, but no-one was supervising it, and there was only milk and cereal - not even any bread. You could buy an Irish breakfast in the adjacent pub for extra money, but having already paid 125 Euros for one person for one night, I expected at least to have a proper breakfast. The room was vastly over-priced, but I never saw anyone who appeared to be in charge to whom I could complain.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Bed in our room was very low, not easy for a fat old lad to get up from. No cooked breakfast available Mon/Tue due to restaurant being closed..
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay! Quiet and peaceful area! Staff were very nice and very helpful! great parking outside! Breakfast in the pub attached was very nice and well presented! Thanks a lot for great stay! Recommended!!!
Cons: Nothing!!
6.3 Good
Pros: You got your own breakfast, the cereals were left out for the guests. There was no cooked breakfast ( maybe in the bar restaurant but we didn't go in there) breakfast wasn't a big deal as m not a big breakfast person anyway. There was tea and coffee available,, eggs were in the fridge for guests to use. so all in all breakfast was fine. The whole place was very clean and spacious. shower in room was very good.
Cons: The noise from the upstairs rooms was very noticeable, there are timber floors and not concrete floors so the noise was extremely noticeable. The accommodation is attached to a bar so the noise from the live music was really loud. Our room was located next to the front door and you could hear it being opened and closed. I was woken up with all the above mentioned noises. Even though the heating was turned off in the rooms it was still very warm , you could open the windows but being on the ground floor probably not the best idea. The room was facing theroad so road traffic wand lights from cars at night very noticeable .

Pros: The location was excellent. The staff were very helpful. The building was beautiful but not used to it’s full potential.
Cons: The facilities were lacking. A long journey to get there and then had to go out to find somewhere to eat. The room was too small for two beds. The bathroom was a little claustrophobic.

Cons: The location is not perfect.

10.0 Excellent

Cons: Loved it all
6.7 Good
Cons: They have neither bar nor restaurant onsite as their website states. You need to drive a couple miles for either.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The breakfast options were good and plenty. The staff was accommodating when we requested to change the room - the first room on the ground floor didn't really smell good (a bit of sewer issue) and the bathroom was in poor shape: mold in several places and walls and tiles damaged. Although we did get an another room, the bathroom was still in poor shape.
Cons: This review concerns the second room that was given to us after our request to change. The overall cleanliness of the bathroom was poor. While it seems that they do clean their rooms (the linens and the showers were clean), the rest is not up to par. We found a clipped nail in the bed. The room felt too hot the whole night: and there was no way of regulating the heat without opening the windows - which is not recommended. Why? because when we entered the room, the bathroom window was open and there were at least a dozen mosquitoes in the room and the bathroom. After having dealt with those, and having closed the window, others kept appearing throughout the night. The bed was comfortable, but the overall experience was not. The bathroom felt like it needed a lot of love: mold in the grout and other places, ceiling is peeling off and several water stains are apparent and, as a bonus, we couldn't get any hot water (we're not idiots, we tried several things to work the shower including waiting a substantial amount of time). This is definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone. Sure, it is not expensive, but, unless they have other rooms that are way better than the two we've seen, I don't understand positive reviews given.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were so surprised by the height standard - every thing from check in, room, staff booking us a taxi, breakfast was soo good!
Cons: Upstairs was a little noisy - kids group, no problems after 11:30pm
7.9 Good
Pros: It is walking distance to New Grange.
Cons: A lot of outside noise at night with large lorries coming in late.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good breakfast, very clean. This was our 3rd stay.
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: Room very tight for 2 people and 2 outlets were hidden behind a single bed we didn't need. Only 1 outlet for charging, coffee, hair dryer. Bathroom is a closet outfitted with essentials, that's it. Bed comfortable and breakfast buffet very good with on demand pancakes.
Cons: Bathroom too small. Room very small.
7.0 Good
Pros: Easy drive from Dublin Airport, close proximity to many sites, comfortable bed
Cons: The shower was very cold! We ran the water as recommended, but never really got hotter than luke warm......

Pros: was peaceful
Cons: there is no reception for mobile phones in the rooms, you will ve to go out of the hotel to make phonecall, there is no internet access in the rooms, so for me it kind of ruined my stay, i intended staying 5 nights but i cut it short cos i was missing important calls.

Cons:
5.6 Okay
Pros: Very nice location and good carpark with good accommodation. Breakfast excellent.
Cons: The breakfast room is too small to cope with the number of guests. We booked four rooms but one was not as big or to the same standard as the rest. As the hotel was full, there was no alternative and we were offered no recompense.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the surroundings and the friendly staff. The lodge itself was lovely and very homely.
Cons: No. Enjoyed all.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: There was very little to dislike, it was very friendly. The only minus was standing around for a good 10-15 minutes while the lovely friendly receptionist answered all of a persons questions on a tour for the next day. After a 4 hour drive, those questions should be answered after we were seen to and checked in.
7.2 Good
Pros: Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Clean, pleasant surroundings
Cons: Wireless internet wasn't working (as advertised on website), but staff allowed us to check emails on their computer

Pros: Everything was good
Cons: Slightly expensive
5.0 Okay
Pros: The team in the bar/restaurant were great and the food was reasonably good.
Cons: Waited some time to check in and I know I should double check first but I really dislike having to park in a non secure local authority car park and having to pay extra for it. I had assumed that this location would have had ample parking, lesson learned. Also they advertise a gym :-( :-(, or 'mini gym', which had two pieces of kit and one, the bike, was out of action. TBH it wasn't really worth advertising.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff I found them to be very helpful and friendly your manager offered to help when I had a problem and Anna on the desk printing something for me, when my daughter could not get me on my mobile she rang your hotel who put her through to me, so a big thank you to you all.
Cons: The weather
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is close the Department store. Just a few minutes walk to city center.
Cons: The pillow and blanket is very smelly. Smell like sweat.

Pros: Friendly staff good location very clean and modern
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Whilst the hotel is close to the centre it's not really the bustling vibrant waterfront that I would have expected from the description. Odd configuration of the beds in the room - there was no lightswitch which could be reached from the bed and a lack of 3 pin plug sockets for electrics. (yes, definitely 1st world problems)
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean , good location .
Cons: beds very uncomfortable , €15 extra for breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loads of music good food an drink bar manageress was lovely made you feel very welcome.
Cons: When it was busy the younger female bar staff could be quite sharp an abrupt.

Pros: Breakfast was great - lots of choice
Cons: Car park ticket validation never worked, room was not ready at 3, had to wait for an hour. No vegetarian options available in the restaurant (really ??!! )

Pros: Anne was awesome with us! She prepared nice and tasty eggs for breakfast and gave us some precious tips on where to go and what to see in the morning!
7.5 Good
Pros: the staff were very good.
Cons: If the owners religion will effect the breakfast menu, it should be stated prior to booking so as a free choice can be made on whether I accept that or not. How many eggs can a person be expected to eat each morning? What was offered was not a continental breakfast by any means.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff, comfy beds.
Cons: We stayed of a weekend and I think the lane beside was used as a shortcut home for some revellers. A little noisy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A great b&b. Attentive and fun staff. Comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Homey atmosphere. Fantastic breakfast, much better that the continental version announced. Incredible deal!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Decent location, close to Newgrange
Cons: In 15 days of travel over Ireland / N.Ireland, this was hands-down the most uncomfortable bed we slept on. It was not just hard but warped, and the pillows were like bricks -- and so big you'd have to have a giraffe-neck to be comfortable. I actually got up in the middle of the night to pull a sweater from my luggage to use as a pillow. Staff was kinda meh. Look guys, if you're gonna run an "inn" it's not gonna be full of locals, so knock it off with the know-it-all, "ugh stupid foreigners" vibe.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice clean bedding.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good
Cons: For 70 euro for a single room with a laminate timber floor and terrible decor not to serve breakfast is ridiculous. It’s in the country and charge 11 euro for breakfast. Cleaners making noise at 10am on a Sunday and knocking twice to try and clean the room despite being told everything was ok earlier that morning. Overall very poor value for money. Pillo hotel is 90 per night and is pure luxury
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was basic but was a good size. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The bed In our room. No.9.. was bust it was terrible. And the noise coming from the building itself was constant a loud humming buzzing noise horrible..
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: breakfast was good
Cons: noise of air con from bar kept us awake. changed room and the person next room was extremely loud . we left short on sleep and would not go back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff &cuisine were excellent
8.0 Excellent
Pros: it's a bar hotel. very convienient for dining and breakfast. Room quality is at about average. The price is very good with free breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like everything. Thanks so much.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room basic but very clean. Breakfast excellent and staff again very good.
Cons: Nothing really. Breakfast could be earlier as we were picking someone up at the airport.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good pint and good food all at reasonable prices with a good atmosphere. Very friendly staff and Donore is a lovely village in the middle of an area with numerous fine attractions.
Cons: Our room was a uninviting. Tiny tv with wires falling down the wall. No cover on remote. Tap at sink in bathroom wets the floor and waste pipe from sink is visible, ugly and unsightly. Worst part is that the only ground floor window looks onto the busy Car Park so you have to draw the curtains and put the lights on at ALL times. Inner net curtains would be minimum recommended. Even on a Saturday night; €85 for Room Only (no breakfast) is asking way too much for the room as it is now.
