Pros: I’ve been on a very long walking tour - the Camino Invierno - for the past eleven days. Occasionally I try to stay in nicer lodgings, when they’re available. This property fit that bill to a T. It’s a small boutique country manor-style hotel. I was tired and didn’t partake of everything on offer but the service was excellent, especially at breakfast and I slept like a baby.
Cons: It’s a bit outside of town, near a busy highway, so it was somewhat noisy.
Pros: So many things..comfort, gardens, pool, lovely staff, huge attention to detail making sure you got the most out of your stay
Pros: It was practically perfect in every way
Cons: It was a little chilly during the day and could not control the heat
Pros: The staff were amazing, rooms very comfortable and the hotel in a great location for walking the Via de la Plata.
Pros: What a beautiful property with exceptional staff! We were greeted by name when we arrived and we were told to treat our hotel like our home. The hotel and grounds were beautiful, Javier and the staff were anxious to meet our every need, and the food was excellent. We felt like it was an oasis and we never wanted to leave.
Pros: The property was very charming, clean, and the staff was exceptional! All the little comforts of life that you would like
Cons: Loved my stay!!!
Pros: Beautiful place. Very comfortable beds and amazing dinner
Located in Lalin, Hotel Villanueva is within a 5-minute drive of Castro Tecnologico and Statue of Joaquín Loriga. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: My last night in Spain (I was taught "beuno camino" by the nice check-out girl) travelling solo by bike, this hotel was beyond what I could have wanted. I arrived after 9pm to a "no fuss, no problem",. The bed very comfy (high-quality memory foam) and rooms so clean, including a deep bath/instant hot water to soak tired cycling legs. But it was the pleasant friendly and genuine nature of staff and particularly the owner I liked as I went down to enjoy the most terrific local salad. The food is superb. Many thanks.
Cons: Some cyclists may prefer a storage area for bikes, but it was quiet and safe in the reception hallway. Although I felt a bit guilty for taking up a bit of space and creating an eyesore.
Pros: My sister and I stayed here while walking the VDLP route of the Camino de Santiago. Hotel is on the route. The staff was friendly. The room was decent, although the ceiling in our room was slanted and my sister hit her head pretty hard. If you're tall, I recommend asking for a room without a slanted ceiling.
Cons: Due to an unforeseen issue for the staff responsible for serving breakfast, the meal started an hour later than scheduled which put us back on the Camino an hour later than we planned (we were trying to beat the heat).
Pros: The owners were very helpful and friendly!
Located in Silleda, Casas Novas Hosteleria is a 2-minute drive from Feira Internacional de Galicia and 10 minutes from Sanctuary of Our Lady O Corpino. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and an elevator. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: For Camino de Santiago walkers, it was a good location. The hotel furnishings were plain and modern, but clean and bright. For families or group, you can expand your reservation to a suite which includes a kitchen and sitting room. It's not a place I would choose for a vacation, unless there are sightseeing possibilities in the area I don't know about.
Cons: As I recall, there was no breakfast, but a restaurant which served pretty good food.
Pros: Breakfast was good, usual tea/coffee/orange juice and toast. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable.
Cons: Would have liked a hair-drier in the bathroom.
Pros: Most friendly staff and helpful
Pros: Fabulous. Simple but perfect. Best location for the Camino with great room and bathroom. Little balcony outside and great restaurant attached - chef is great! Food delicious and perfectly seasoned. Really friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.
Pros: The rooms were very clean, the check in was easy and there weren’t any problems.
Pros: We stayed in the property as the weather on the Camino became too cold for us to walk, we selected on basis of location, range to Santiago, services and value, all scored highly - stayed two nights as weather chnged, rooms were modern and very comfortable, the restaurant, bar services and team were exceptiinal, and really didn't want to leave!
Pros: Off the Camino route, but easy to find; staff very helpful; spacious accommodation (2 bedroom apartment); close access to services (grocery store, bars/restaurant)
Pros: V secure bicycle storage
Cons: WiFi is useless. Very noisy bar affects first floor rooms-the racket goes on untill after 0400.
Located in Silleda, Casa Grande de Fuentemayor is within a 10-minute drive of Feira Internacional de Galicia and Pozo do Boi. Featured amenities include a business center, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The view from our room with balcony was beautiful and the room was large.
Cons: It feels like it’s not been looked after for a few years. It’s all a bit musty and felt like they weren’t ready for us. I messaged ahead to ask if we could have dinner, unfortunately the owner couldn’t be there and had left her mother in charge but she told us we could eat . She was a sweet lady but maybe it was hard for her to be left in charge. We agreed 8 o’clock for dinner but when we came down at 8.20 she hadn’t laid the table so it didn’t make up feel very welcome. The food was only just edible but we were charged €15 each for it. Breakfast was at the same table (looked like the table cloth had been in the same place for a few years) and was just ok. On departure we went to pay with a card but she said she couldn’t take it even though it showed them as accepting cards on booking.com. Luckily we had enough cash, she said she would email a receipt but never has. I’m afraid that I can’t recommend this hotel in its present condition
Pros: Beautifully restored home in an idyllic, peaceful setting, a short distance from Silleda. The room was warm and cosy, with a spectacular view from the balcony. Food was first rate and tailored to our vegetarian tastes. Above all we were moved by the generous hospitality of the owners. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and to help us in every possible way. We really felt cherished!
Pros: Very warm and accommodating hosts. Breakfast and dinner were very good and an incredible value for money.
Pros: The host was super sweet and welcomed us in her beautiful home with a lovely meal. Apparently the house is 300 years old and has been in the same family all this time. If you're looking for an authentic stay then look no further. I booked two rooms for our family of four with children aged 7 and 9 but could have booked a large family room which would have been a bit cheaper. The host very sweetly gave us back the difference.
Cons: We were unable to use the tap or shower in our bathroom as there was only piping hot water coming out but we were able to use another bathroom so that was fine.
Located in Lalin, Pazo de Bendoiro is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Feira Internacional de Galicia and Ethnographic Museum Casa do Patrón. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast was lovely and setting and facilities are beautiful. Was raining the whole time there so did not get to take that advantage of the place while there to walk around, etc. but could tell it was very special and unique. Very clean as well and the attention to detail in the room was very appreciated. Nicely appointed bathroom.
Cons: No one on staff in the evenings after 8 or 9. Left alone at facilities which is fine but found a little strange. Maybe more of a b and b thing.
Pros: Wonderful hotel, beautiful surroundings, peaceful ambiance, nice rooms, comfortable beds, very good breakfast.
Cons: Jacuzzi in the bath didn't work, in the other room we booked it was ok.
Pros: Beautiful old stone house in a quiet setting with gorgeous views of rolling hills behind. Just a few hundred meters from the Camino Via de la Plata with a large sign pointing you in the right direction - easy to find. Restaurant open until 10:30pm which was a blessing for us after a long day of walking from Cea (30+ km). Delicious food and wonderful staff.
Pros: An incredibly beautiful property that was a very warm and welcome place while walking the Camino Via Plata. Fantastic dinner! Highly recommend!
Pros: Verry good breakfest!
Located in Silleda, Hotel Ramos is within a 15-minute drive of Feira Internacional de Galicia and Sanctuary of Our Lady O Corpino. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Cons: Great clean rooms
Pros: The staff was great for two weary pilgrims on the camino.
Cons: Could not get real cold water
Pros: Helpful, friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Close to the Camino de Santiago.
Pros: Convenient for the Camino. Good breakfast.
Cons: If you are a pilgrim and after a day walk want to take a good shower and have a meal, choose another place because there are quite many hostels/hotels in Silleda. Shower was broken. It seems that nothing has been repaired in this hostel since last century....we arrived around 22:00 and they mentioned that hostel cafeteria is already closing, so thanks, to google - we found an excellent taberna nearby.
It is a whole exterior house, with lots of natural light, adapted for group residence, in two rooms for four people with a small outside terrace and a third room for six people, with the possibility of extra beds. The beds are litter and have a single box office where you can fit your suitcase or backpack, as we work with groups and pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. We work with cloth blanket and Nordic to enjoy the rest, but if you bring your bag you can use the pillowcase and the sheet of single use and you will be more economical to stay with us. We have a washing machine and a dryer for payment if you need it and also a kitchen where you have the basic utensils to make your dishes, everything is electric, ceramic hob, sandwich maker, microwave, etc. And also a coffee maker nesspreso so that you have a coffee invited by the house. We also have a comfortable living room with cable TV and free high-speed Wi-Fi for you. The reservation is for the whole property, and also if you organize your group for the Camino de Santiago we help you with procedures, and even the possibility of accommodation, food and travel from Lalín and take you back from each stage.
Pros: Clean and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms, lots of hot water, clean and comfortable beds, quiet.
Cons: It was not very warm in the common areas or bathroom, but it was also a cold night. The heater in the bedroom worked fine.
Pros: Very clean and new. The beds were very comfortable (Probably new. I really dislike a worn out mattress). The bathroom was new. The hosts were very nice. They operate a restaurant around the corner and treat you very well when you go there.
Pros: Extremely clean, warm and well located. We were very comfortable.
Cons: No complaints!
Pros: Good position on Camino Invierno
With a stay at Hotel Vía Argentum - Spa y Deporte in Silleda, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Feira Internacional de Galicia and Sanctuary of Our Lady O Corpino. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: You had to pay to use the spa, surely this could be included in your room rate? Staff in restaurant a little bit grumpy too, other staff excellent though
Pros: We lived our stay here. The restaurant is truly excellent., some of the best food we've had in Spain. The rooms are huge and very comfortable and the staff for the hotel and restaurant were so pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend even though it's on the edge of town and a little away from other things you might want to do,
Pros: Modern, spacious, large hotel with generous rooms and good leisure facilities. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: A bit off the camino. Silleda nothing to write home about! Lovely dining room at the top of the hotel but only open for lunch! What are they thinking? Access to massage and treatments not possible unless booked in advance and use of the spa should be included in the room fee for guests. Having said all that, I would be very happy to stay at the hotel again.
When you stay at Restaurante Hostal A Taberna de Vento in Lalin, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Ethnographic Museum Casa do Patrón and Pozo do Boi. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and laundry facilities. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The owners were pleasant and were able to accommodate an early check in.
Pros: Near the Camino route; comfortable, clean, easy to find, good value
Pros: Spartan but clean. The heater worked which made all the difference to having a comfortable night versus a cold night.
Pros: The owner cooked us an evening meal - everywhere in town was closed on a Sunday night
Pros: Handily placed on the Via de la Plata, the taberna Vento makes an excellent overnight stop.
Cons: My only slight complaint is that the accommodation is actually over the road from the bar so there's a little bit of to-ing and fro-ing. Also three keys to actually get into your room is a little difficult to process after a long day's hike.
Pros: Location. Welcoming, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Hearty food!
Pros: It was clean.
Pros: Everything! One of the best Camino stays I have ever had and the very best breakfasts on any Camino. Great value for money and brilliant facilities.
Pros: Very clean and very friendly and helpful proprietor.

Pros: The hotel staff - very welcoming. Comfy bed Good foood and wine - but pricey for a peregrino.
Cons: No way to wash or even dry any wet clothes. Approx 4 km out of town, so taxis necessary. Restaurant geared to higher prices than exoected( no menu del dia). Overall - a good hotel, but not the best choice for peregrinos.
Pros: Confortable and clean room with life-saving AC
Cons: The restaurant below wasn't cheap but i was so tired that i had to eat there. Better eat somewhere else before arriving there. The staff was professional but not particularly friendly

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Pros: The hotel was ok. The room was very big and had everything we needed it. The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the centre. The hotel has a bar where you can have a drink or something to eat. Breakfast was ok too.
Cons: The decoration could be improved. The bathroom could also be better. The hot water tap from the bath didn't work properly and the water was boiling hot.
Pros: The place was very clean and the food at their restaurant was excellent and delicious . I would stay there again and have dinner.
Pros: Little far from the Camino way, we took a taxi for 8euro I think, you can use gps to walk (short cut) cause it’s located to the interior of town but we decided on taking a cab.. my favorite part is the large bathtub that I really like, also the food at the restaurant was so yummy specially the calamari! We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel’s resto Clean room and good size!
Cons: That I have to take taxi to get there!! Nothing else! But when we got there everything was fine...going back to Camino way the next day was easier.
Pros: Room on 2nd floor was clean, spacious and tidy. Breakfast buffet was good: cereal, toast, ham, cheese, toast, coffee, orange, yogurt, fruit, croissant.
Cons: It's a shame that the staff don't appear happy. Chap on reception was helpful.
Pros: Breakfast was very good!
Cons: Very unwelcoming staff, rooms a little rundown, location not good when you‘re doing the Camino coming from Castro Dozón. Also there was loud beeping sound coming from the reception that you could hear in the rooms, which was very annoying when you want to sleep. Staff didn‘t care for helping out.
Pros: The staff was flexible enough to make arrangements for our group to come a day earlier than we planned and allow us to keep our rooms for the next day as well. They sent a cab to pick us up and helped us get settled quickly. They were prompt, efficient, and professional. Hotel food was pretty good.
Cons: There was no air conditioning, and the heat came on automatically in the morning, so we couldn't adjust our temperature to suit ourselves.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. This hotel has 7 meeting rooms available for events. Pros: Great big room and bathroom. Very clean and with a pleasant outside area accessed directly from the room.
Cons: We couldn't go to the swimming pool with our kid, because kids under a certain age were not allowed after 6 pm.
Cons: We paid additional to access the Spa, only to find out the majority of facilities were out of service. I couldn't find anything on the reservation to suggest this was the case. When we found out we asked to have our booking changed to room only, but we're told we could not do that.
Cons: Room without regulated water: too hot or too cold. Nothing was done when complaining.
Pros: Large rooms and bed
Cons: Smelt musty. Like no fresh air has been left in. Wasn’t clear in all the corners. Allowed smokers on the terrace who were noisy at night. Breakfast poor. Hot food was cold. Not enough choice. Coffee awful. No decent products in the bathroom. Broken chairs in restaurant. Very very tired. Like an old people’s home. Nowhere close to 4 star
Pros: Everything was good, very friendly staff, good buffet Breakfast, lunch and dinner. but if there aren't enough people in the hotel it's only menu.
Cons: The Pool and the Spa is not included in the any rate. It's 15 Euros per prson for the pool for 1 1/2 hour. it was not indicated at booking time.
