Stunning location on a plateau within the Vosges forest, interesting buildings, beautifully kept grounds, great scenery, possibility for hikes and visits to nearby towns and villages bathrooms function but do need to be renovated to give them a fresher, more appealing look
The room was clean and the location is great The worst staff ever guys come on are you going to do something about this. we had to wait 15 minutes untill someone came to the reception for check in, great impression from the start what do you think? Then no water in the hotel in the morning and when you see the gm he could not care less, he just said that he did not had a problem as he had a special boiler for his flat. what a F... . at least apologise, and I love the written note on the top of the gm office, bureau des pleurs.... I think this will all tell about the hotel management
Location - dramatic hilltop setting. Lack of a la carte menu for dinner (but it's only a relatively small hotel). Choucroute would not have been our first choice, but it's the regional speciality and the quality was good. We didn't try the breakfast in case it was more of the same!
A wonderful place!
Stuning location! Great views all around from its hill top location 415 metres above sea level. Keep your eyes peeled for the sign on the "main road" - Vacanciel. It sits in the middle of about 70 sq kms of forest some 6km off the road. Forest roads are good if narrow & watch out for foxes, deer & sharp bends in the dark! Staff very friendly and helpful, we arrived at 7.30 pm without booking an evening meal, but one was provided & very good it was too. Great breakfast. Simple clean rooms, own shower and toilet. A range of activities is on offer - we missed the evening honey tasting. We stayed a couple of days exploring the Northern Vosge mountains - I wish it could have been longer. No.
It's location on a hilltop and in the middle of a huge forest. The appearance as one approaches the hotel is wonderful. It would be beneficial to guests if they were advised to book evening meals and breakfast in advance. We wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant but there were no spaces.
charming staff, good room with balcony and big shower. excellent food. will definitely return.
Quiet, calm, pretty location, good breakfast. The pillows were too soft/thin.
Nice location, excellent food, friendly staff. No
Location very nice in lovely village with view op pond. Good food (small selection). 10 min from A4.
We loved our stay at Au Lion dÓr from the welcome we received on our arrival from both the helpful staff and the resident friendly golden labrador, our upgrade to a valley view room, the superb dinner and breakfast...to the fabulous location in this pretty town. No it was all good here.
The food was quit good, as was the wine. Rooms at front have some trouble from traffic noise as of 5.30am.
Pleasant situation, confortable room and helpful staff Expensive restaurant
Views, localization. 1. Only some representatives of personnel speak English. 2. It took 20mins to create the invoice at the end of our stay. 3. Poor selection in breakfast menu.
Beautiful location in centre of village with views over the valley. Beautiful room Hotel receptionist a little bit arrogant on arrival. Good food in restaurant but very expensive and tables with a valley view were 'reserved' but not occupied during our time there. Tried to charge for breakfast we didn't have
Lovely looking hotel - beautiful location and friendly staff. Frustrating showerhead... Food was very good but very overpriced (not a lot of options in the off season).
When you book a classical room, you get a room with a single persons bed, 140 cm, not big enough for 2 people. And these rooms have not been renovated. If you a book a room for 2 persons, there should be a bed for 2 persons, so 180 cm. The bathroom was very small and and old fashioned. The reception was not friendly, no possibility to get another room unless you pay a hugh supplement. And you cannot speak in the sparoom, no cell phones allowed and no smoking outside, not very recommandable for business people.
very friendly and warm atmosphere nice spa area, unfortunately the massages are really expensive
excellent facilities and good room. Hotel was not crowded and meals were good, especially breakfast. Nice terrace for eating out in good weather No tea / coffee facilities in room
A very friendly and welcoming hotel. Knowledgeable and helpful staff and excellent food. The room was very comfortable.
Pleasant small hotel in a charming Alsacian village, just a short detour from the Reims-Strassbourg autoroute. Good in-house restaurant. No bad points.
All the staff were very friendly and coped with our suspect language skills adequately. Food was good both evening and breakfast. Had some considerable trouble finding the hotel asthe road signs in and around saverne leave something to be desired.
lovely old village with beautiful houses
Silence. Free parking. Location.
The Host, good wit and humour good local knowledge no
very good restaurant
Friendly welcome.Central location and charming setting.
Selection of breakfast options At the time of our brief stay one side of the building was swathed in building works
The room was spacious, very modern, clean and comfortable. The food at the hotel was also excellent.
beautiful location, great food, helpful staff, tranquil.
It was very quiet and relaxing. a very spacious room with good facilities, excellent views and a large bathroom with seoarate wc Some of the staff were a little off hand
internet connection, view, pool room old-dated, food tasted old, tv only french, doggs in the restaurant, bad road to there
The location was good and so was the food served at the restaurant. I don't think it was a good value for money. The service and poor.
It's location is good, en route to Germany as overnight stop. In the heart of Alsace.. great to simply be there!
wonderful atmosphere, owner was very friendly
Stunning view from the room, friendly service, spacious room, good location (in the village and close to the start of the many walking trails) May need some refurbishment (carpets, furniture,..)
excellent centre for walking and the local cuisine
The helpfulness of the staff and the standard of the room - very comfortable
The view from the room and from the dining terrasse was magnificent. One member of the staff was not particularly service minded. We asked for help to catch a bus, however, we were cut off and referred to the tourist office (which was closed).
The management and staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and efficient. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of Alsace, excellent views from our balcony over a wooded valley.
Locationwas great. One could enjoy hiking trails, especially in the fall. Persons at the reception were not especially friendly or helpful
