This is a beautiful, brand new hotel. The swimming pool and rest area are just fabulous. The hotel is located in middle of nowhere. Only go there if you have a car. There is nothing at walking distance. Public transportation is poor. A cab to downtown Verona coasts € 24. I sampled this hotel among those offering free shuttle to the airport; however I could not benefit from this since my flight was at 7:35 AM and the suttle service starts at 8:00 AM! It would be fair that booking.com or the hotel reimbouse me the € 12 I paid for the cab to the airport. Staff is quite rude.
All, swimming pool.location No.
The room was very clean and had good facilities. Bathroom facilities were also very good.I also liked the fact that when I checked out of the hotel in the early hours the next morning, breakfast was available. The chairs in the hotel room were a little uncomfortable being made of steel. Style over comfort.
all staffs are nice
Clean rooms Very far from centre. No shuttle provided to airport as mentioned for early departures (should be mentioned)
Pool closes very early in the evening. It woud be grate if it would be open, when you come from Verona or neerby amusemant parks. By the way, Gardaland closes at midnight and I like to jump in the pool, when I return from there.
Clean and simple Nothing
Very clean and comfortable. Wide choice of continental breakfast (with great coffee). Very close to Verona airport (but no noise). If hotel car park is full, lots of free public spaces immediately outside the hotel. Not a dislike, but a comment - great for people using airport (as we were), but not for a holiday as situated out of town and in an industrial estate.
it is one of the bests hotel that I ever see. For work I travel a lot and the quality in this hotel is wery high, the staff is very friendly and carefull with the guests. It's very simple from Hotel Postumia to go in the airport of Verona and also in the center city the bus stop is very close to the hotel, so in the free time you can go easily to do some shopping....Great!!!
Service was perfect.Rooms are excellent, quiet, clean, confortable
The staff were amazing. So helpfull and very accommodating. We had to leave very early in the morning to catch a flight (Verona airport only 900m away) and since we would miss breakfast they made us a breakfast to take to our rooms the night before. The restaurant attached (but separately run) to the the hotel was also excellent. Exceptionally friendly staff amd after 2 weeks in Italy iot was actually the best pizza we had. There is a bus stop directly out the fron of the hotel that takes you into the city centre every half hour or so. Very convenient. The first room to which we were shown smelt a bit of smoke from previous guests. We asked for a room change and they were very accommodating. So all ended up ok anyway.
Very good, great staff....OK!
Very nice new hotel (in the former building of the church), an excellent staff and service more detailed location map
Well situated from Verona en the central station off Verona. We also went tot Venece and Lago di Garda. This was very easy due to the good train and motorway connections. Not all the staff speaks English but those who do are very kind and willing to help you with everything.
Good beds, wireless internet, average breakfast, private parking.
I reached the hotel about 23-00, and everybody was asleep. But I waked them up. The room is ok. The location is bad - you have to use the bus, and to the airport it's 10 min. drive? so it's not close.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Room was practically brand new. Good out-of-town location for Verona and surroundings.
Hotel Operà is an exceptional small hotel just near Verona. Its owners are a couple of experienced and dedicated professionals who have decided to open their own business after working for big hotel chains. They have done an impressive work and we definitely felt at home. Too bad we have booked just one night as we were moving our way towards Venice.
Nice, new, family hotel. Location is perfect for Verona visiters - 10 min by car. Very friendly stuff. Gorgeous, clean and comfortable room! Free large parking. I'd call this hotel simply "perfect". The road outside is a little noisy.
Good for trips to verona airport or lake garda. Very friendly and helpful staff.nice breakfast.
Great hotel and better service. If you visit Verona, no doubt. Thank you, Gianni, we had the gratest stay possible.
Very friendly, welcoming and personal hotel - spotlessly clean, excellent value. The hotel is very close to Verona airport which is why I chose it, and for that the location is excellent. It is a few miles out of town, but with a hire car (or a taxi), it was an easy drive into the centre. It is also the right side of Verona to reach Lake Garda in about 20 minutes. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there is a great choice in the immediate vicinity. The breakfast was great though.
Excellent location Very small room
location, staff helped us find restaurants and could not do enough for us
The Hotel's location is perfect for site seeing within the city on foot, shopping and is close to several great restaurants.
good breakfast, helpful staff, clean rooms, etc. please note my address is: ashton keynes not keyners
The location of hotel is so convenienet for the city tour and shopping. Also the garage facility is important for this city center although you have to pay it. The room we stayed is larger than our expectation of a 3 star hotel: It is difficult to find the hotel if you drive to, altohugh it is so close the center. It is better to recommend parking at a park next to Arena, and finding hotel to get a description of route as we did at the end.
we liked the location particularly, and the breakfast was also very good. our room was small but we had been told this on booking and as we were only there for a weekend it really didn't matter.
the comfortable room, bathroom cleanliness. on the first floor, you hear the street noise too much.
Hotel very close to Ampitheatre and restaurants. Secure parking. Difficult to find, even my top of the line GPS couldn't do it. Had to enlist the services of a local on his bicyle, everything else good.
very central and modern
Good curtins and comfortalbe matress.
An ideal airport hotel at the Verona airport. Normally airport hotels provide early breakfast for the early-birds leaving the hotel really early, this one does not.
dining room was not up to the rest of the facilities standard
Close to airport. Free shuttle to/from airport & Verona center.Friendly and helpful staff in reception. Very good restaurant too although a bit pricy. Breakfast ok. Only a minor thing. You can only access Internet with a cable. No Wifi available in bedrooms.
location is perfect. very close to airport and have the shuttle service.staff are friendly. it will be good if the toilet kits have more things such as body lotion..but this is not a big thing. overall i am happy with my stay and i will choose this hotel again.
It was extremely clean, modern, spacious. I would definitely stay there again. Front reception spoke perfect English also. Free shuttle to airport was also a bonus that I did not expect. No. it was a breath of fresh air!
Very nice hotel. It's more like 5 star when you're in your room.
english speaking staff, bed linnens, convenient to airport, Price
modern facilities and indoor pool
Great position close to all sites and shops of Verona. Very attentive friendly staff. Lovely bar and lounge areas Lack of natural light
classy accomodations and very friendly and helpful staff as well as excellent breakfasts
The reception and dining room staff were courteous and helpful. We only stayed for two nights but were made to feel very welcome.
location, bathroom and breakfast difficult parking
The rooms were exceptionally well decorated with all possible comforts. It was quiet an relaxing and extremely beautiful the atmosphere was captivating and classy, the staff proficient, efficient and unobtrusive. I didn't like the view. The room was surrounded by construction works and this really spoiled the beauty.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of old town Verona. Rooms were luxiourious; breakfast items varied and plentiful Not a single complaint
Perfect location good rooms
The personell was excellent, very important. Cleanliness good. Location for shopping excellent No
Everyone was kind and helpful. I arrived early and they kept my luggage so that I could explore the city while my room was getting ready. They also offered for me to enjoy breakfast and a cafe even though I had not stayed there the night before. Lovely place and great location. It's on a main street, but the room was quiet. As a female solo traveler, I felt safe and content. Plus Verona is a beautiful city to explore. I also took a train for the day to Lago de Gardo 20 minutes away. Beautiful as well.
I liked most the location, the helpful staff, and the quiet room.
Verona is a fun place to walk around from this centrally located hotel. We had the large corner suite on floor 1 above the very cool bookshop. The decor could possibly do with a refresh. Initially our room was very hot and the heater controls seemed to be broken but we were able to open the large windows and soak in some of the surrounding bustle. The staff are efficient but not very warm. Free internet access is good, the breakfast is average. The hotel is obviously in an old building and the decor could do with a refresh but still keeping true to current old world charm
Beautiful hotel, excellent location, BUT lacks atmosphere due to it being so empty whilst there. I don't know the reason for this, but I wanted to eat in the great setting for a restaurant, but didn't see 1 person use it in the time we were there. The empty restaurant!
Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful and they all spoke English! The food was great in the hotel and it was situated close to all the sights and shopping. Our room was excellent with beautiful furnishings and they gave us complimentary champagne and fruit for our anniversary! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Impressive entrance and main lobby, one of a kind. Not appropriate breakfast room/feels really average to have breakfast there.... brakfast, small room
We stayed at the hotel for three nights with our two small children. The staff were very pleasant and provided anything required to make our stay comfortable. The food was good and the rooms exceptionally comfortable. we would recommend the hotel for a most enjoyable stay in beautiful Verona.
n/a No Air conditioning, extremely uncomfortable because of this.No food available on arrival in the afternoon.Would you like some toast sir!!! 5 Star hotel, definately not, needs new A/C UNIT fitting which works whether the weather outside is warm or not!!!!
Location and service. Rooms need a face lift..... but service made up for it.
A 5 star hotel in the city center! Beautiful old palace!
The hotel staff were very polite. I have asked for a smoking room and I got a non-smoking room.
The hotel has a super location and the staff were very helpful.
Staff was wonderful room perfect location unbeatable. We loved our stay.
The staff was very kind and the locations is very central.
This hotel was all we hoped for - luxurious, in a perfect location, with attentive and helpful staff. The breakfast in the room was excellent. We would love to stay again.
The friendliness of the staff. No iron, no bottle of wine, flowers etc on arrival as stated in the literature. Air con did not work very well. The fact that Booking.com had not informed the hotel operator of our arrival.
The staff went out of their way to help me with every demand or question I had
Really unusual location right in the heart of Verona with the entrance in the corner of the courtyard of the Casa di Giulietta (Juliet's house). If you arrive in the daytime, you will need to fight through the crowd taking pictures of the famous balcony. Once inside, it is a haven of peace and calm. Beautifully appointed and with a wonderfully attentive staff. It's expensive but a great treat in the very heart of Verona.
very good location if you wish to explore the city by foot, spaciouse and comfortable rooms and ofcourse, the main reason, the unique and atractive location within the Romeo and Juliet court yard with all the visitors as the constant background for the price, a little upgrade to the amenities would be welcomed: an English channel on TV, upgrade to the breakfast, etc.
Lovely rooms, excellent beds and bed linens perfect in town location, fantastic helpful staff. in room breakfast was a treat - they garaged our car in a close by secure garage . we very much enjoyed our stay. my kind of hotel. The zero cancellation refund policy is too restrictive and frankly unrealistic.
The helpful receptionist. Excellent central position with lively street view. Attractive furnishings and comfortable room. over complicated touch pad lighting system and room safe locking system.
Courtesy of staff, nice room, great location Lack of any common facilities (understandable given size of hotel)
the hotel had a nice area to sit outside breakfast room in basement
Great hotel! This was the second time we stayed at the Grand! The location is good, just a few minutes from the old town ( actually from the Arena, because you are in the old town, the hotel being situated just after you pass the Porta Nouva gate), the staff is really helpful and nice! The breakfast is super, taking into consideration that you are in Italy. The only thing i cand think of being not great is that the wi-fi connection had , from time to time, some problems..it didn't work properly every time you logged in.
The location was good for a first time visitor to Verona. All staff were courteous and no request or question was an issue for them. One minor issue I experienced was wi fi in my room. I was able to use at the reception area however could not connect from the room.
Location, breakfast... Rooms a bit too simple and small for a four star property.
friendly staff, well appointed if smallish rooms, very convenient garage, nice breakfast, close to historical center; small rooms, wireless internet has clunky setup + was out of order the 3 days we were there.
Close to the opera etc. no
Lovely hotel in a great location, not far from train station and main attractions. The hotel is decorated with beautiful artwork, including sculptures and paintings and has a lovely outdoor courtyard. Rooms were very clean. Looking forward to returning one day.
In the City
Poor breakfast. Awful breakfast room.
It's laying favourable and the city center is not so far with every spot. The staff is helpful and the room was confortable and big.Every day was hidden some candy in the bed. We had to left there in the parking place in a building the car key,in order to the workers can do able drive criss-cross in the parking place depended upon who has need his car.The cars were open and the keys were on the windscreen.
It was really a four star hotel. So many times, even though rated as four stars, I have been disappointed in the past. This was a great pleasure to have a hotel that lived up to its price and quality as an excellent hotel. The location was also good and close to places that could be walked to. A real pleasure. Thank you. Having to pay for internet service and not having it included in the price of the hotel.
Rude reception, not user friendly or welcoming in any way.
The staf hospitality was excellent none
Nothing This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in the hotel staff were so rude and would not help at all. The internet costs 3 euro an hour but it doesnt work and they still charge you after you have told them that it is not working. It is a horrible hotel no where near the city of Verona which is such a beautiful little city.
Good location, close to the old town. Very comfortable and quiet No restaurant !
breadfast and good ventolation of room and easy to get to the center of Verona
Very attentive, friendly staff. We were greeted with a smile and nothing seemed to be a problem. Room was spacious and spotless. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and had a variety of food and drinks to suit most people, which helped create with the stamina needed for a busy sight seeing day. Prior to booking, we knew that the hotel was slightly outside the city wall. This didn't present a problem for us as we enjoyed the 10/15 minute walk into the centre, despite the busy main road. The shuttle bus laid on by the hotel during the opera season certainly helped overcome this in the evening. The small charge was perfectly reasonable. If we stayed there again, we would make more use of the bikes that were available to hire.
Very clean room, good breakfast, not very far from railway station (10-15min by foot) was hot in the room, noisy a little if open window
cleanlines of our room services very poor, breakfast- buffet very basic, bad for commuting with the town center.
Excellent breakfast and the shuttle for Opera. It's rather far away from the centre.
The location was absolutely perfect! Right in the center of the old town, with shops, restaurants and night life right outside the door. The staff was very friendly and eager to help out. Great stay - will defintely try to book again. Reaching downtown via car is a little tricky because of all the one way streets and pedestrian routes but worth it once you arrive at the destination.
very nice and wonderful hotel
I really liked the hotel and will be going back there again. Very nice room/suite in probably the best location in Verona. Very helpful staff who were there when you needed them without being unduly solicitous. Room maintained to a very high standard. Good breakfasts. Couldn't tell from the info in the room or on the phone itself how to get room service but still managed to get early morning tea thanks to the really helpful staff.
The attention to detail at the hotel, in the training of the staff, in the desing of the cooman areas and sleeping rooms, and in the elegant breakfast are first rate. The front desk sent us to a highly over-done and over-priced restaurant, representing it as "simple, but good." In 20+ trips to Italy, this was probably the least simple restaurant I have been in, and it was horribly over-priced.
Great boutique hotel in city center of Verona. Service and staff very helpful and always have a big smile. Rooms are quiet, clean, and nicely furnished
This is a beautiful hotel. It is in the best location in Verona. The service was impeccable and the staff was superb.
I like the style of that hotel .It is an old charming hotel with stylish saloons and elegant rooms no
The location is excellent and the decor and facilities are extremely tasteful. The rooms have originality and character. The shower was difficult to use without having water all over the floor. The bed-side reading lights were unsatisfactory.
The hotel was really very charming and very comfortable. A little of the street noise from the location but well worth it to be in the heart of the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially thee waiters in the morning serving breakfast! We hope to be back to Hotel Gabbia D'Oro and will be recommending it to our friends. Can't think of anything we didn't like, wish we could have been there longer!
Excellent location, genuine and historical venue, great people, good quality-price relation If window opened at night it can be noisy
very big beds and room, tasty breakfast
Hotel staff was very kind and helpful.
Quiet, very good breakfast. Excellent wide single beds.
Parking excellent. Bed very comfortable. Staff very helpful as stated previously. Distance from Verona - but only as expected as website stated this. Shower could have been better. Breakfast adequate but very average.
Very pleasant hotel in a cute and quiet environment.
Quiet location, nice garden for breakfast time, good breakfast service at all.
Very clean accomodation. Sheets & towels changed daily. Matresses very old and uncomfortable
Breakfast was very nice - the patio is beautiful and elegant. Parking is convenient Rooms are very basic, but fairly large. Location is a bit far from most attractions.
Breakfast room was nice and staff was attentive. Underground parking was a nice bonus. Location was outside of the core area of town, and not in the best neighborhood. Bus stopped not too far from the hotel, though, so not too bad.
Staff was helpful, breakfast was good & location was good. limited internet access should be offered.
There were some very nice touches.....the welcome drink, the chocolates in the room, the slippers and the free internet. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a variety of fresh foods and breads. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We arrived in Verona by train and the hotel is located close to the train station, which made dragging our luggage around much less of a burden. The temperature control in the room did not seem to work very well, so we opened our window for fresh air. Our room looked over the main street (Corso Porto Nuovo) so there was a bit of street noise at night, but it was not too loud, and did not disturb us once we were asleep.
Location and Jacuzzi Breakfast staff were slow and in attentive - didn't seem to be able to cope with a busy restaurant
The breakfast that was included was excellent. The shower was too small even with all the upgraded features it had.
Nice hotel. Good location. Close to the center and rail station. The price.
The room facilites, and the cleaniness no
large room, modern comfort, great TV, quiet and first rate breakfast. Outside the city wall, but that makes it easier to access. hotel can be a little hard to find, even though it's on a main street.
The hotel has a perfect location close to the city center without being in the loudy area You can hear the noise of the people on the neighbor rooms
staffs are friendly 4 stars hotel without a TV........
cleanliness on 10/5/2008 there was no electricity until 9pm; buses to the city centre only ran once an hour (due to weekend/holiday) and the service ceased at 8pm so i had to take a taxi back to the hotel twice (sat+sun)
Good price, free parking, supermarket. Good location for day trips to Verona, Venice, Garda, etc. Rooms are too smal, a bit dusty, old fashioned. But for this price is ok deal.
THe hotel clearly charged rates relevant to the surrounding events, ie the verona stone show and the rate paid did not reflect what I feel I should have received The hotel was not inviting and is in need of a make over, again felt it was exceptional over priced for the facilities on offer
Good, clean hotel. About 30 minutes by public transport from the historic centre of Verona.
Driving directions given on the website were not clear and we got lost. Reception staff was not very helpful.
convienient for city centre, easy access from motorway.
The desk man was pretty helpful and did speak some English the info on the website was not updated- there was no free internet and no television station in English
The hotel restaurant served good food. The staff that work at the reception were particularly rude and unhelpful, put simply, no customer relations skills.
Positive, helpful, attitude of staff. Dining/ eating generally was good. Lifts are too small (and somewhat idiosyncratic) when with a couple of suitcases. Could the hotel consider setting up a minibus service into the old town/amphitheatre?
Very good location in centre of Verona near main sites
The location was perfect. The hotel can not offer much of a comfort though if you are in Verona for a few days it is a very good option.
Almost next-door to the Arena and within easy walking distance to the train station. Room in the new hotel building (separate from the Reception building) was comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would have appreciated a coffee/tea-maker in the room, but it's absence may be normal for 3-star hotels in Europe.
The staff at reception spoke english and were helpful. Our room accommodated 4 people reasonably well for a European hotel and was comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a wide selection of drinks and food. The location was very close to the old town centre and thus tourist attractions were within walking distance. The hotel room had a great booklet that suggested suitable walking routes with historical information in several languages.
As a solo traveller and a female I did not like being placed in a room separate from the main hotel
The guys Jimmy and William from general services at the hotel area great! Very poor service at the reception. Reservation was not made properly and I had to be transferred to another hotel for 1 night. They have this "apartments"away from the hotel building that is not practical. Shuttle to take breakfast is ridiculous. I was not informed at the reservation.
The modern and renovated suites wrapped in ancient buildings. The umbrellas. Wi-fi access is still with user and psw.
position was great could walk to everything. Breakfast was great.
Central location. Great breakfast.
very good location:100 meters from the historical center and only 4 min by bus from the train station. the breakfast was continental, but rich and good quality.the room was not big but very nice and refurnished, the bathroom spacious and functional. Above all, the bed and the pillows were really nice and comfy. the price i paid at the time was ok, but i wouldn't pay the prices i see now.
Proximity to Arena and main tourist areas
Good location, very nice hotel with comfortable room. Free of charge apple in the lobby :)
cosy a bit far from centre
The maintenance staff of the hotel is very polite, all the engineering equipment is modern and quite good. Very clean and nice rooms. A little bit trivial breakfast (I was having almost the same at 3* hotels).
the cleanliness of the hotel and the size of the bedrooms. parking was also free
No restaurant in the hotel or near open after 22:00
Welcoming and very helpful staff! Beautiful facility from the lobby (with couches and grand piano) to tiled showers and spacious rooms. Room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities. Best breakfast we had on our entire European tour. Easy walking distance to all the sites in Verona. We wish we had more nights here!
The hotel had a private parking place, which was very good for us, as we didn't want to park our car in the open streets. Also, it was very clean and the rooms looked very nice in terms of design. By car it is easy to get to verona from the hotel, so the location of the hotel is ok. The hotel was very noisy, not only in the morning hours, but also at nights, we could hear loud and clear through the walls everything the other quests were saying in the room next door. After a 9-hour drive, that could be very unpleasant. The fact that it also didn't have a free WiFi was important, because it is a 4 Star Hotel, and not quite in the center of the town, and it could use something to attract clients. But the worst thing was that the directions given by Google Maps were off, and we spend 2 hours driving in the same neighbourhood trying to find the hotel. If you don't have a gps, it is very hard to find, not even the locals know were it is.
Good parking possibility, convenient location for business, 20 min on foot to city center
The bread at breakfast was some of the worst I have ever had. Night reception staff Hotel decoration bad taste, presumptuous Hotel bar closing at 21.30 when there is nothing near the hotel
The pictures and the hotel name (Palace) did not reflect the hotel as it was not a palace lots of road no restaurant
Great Location - a little hard to find. Nice lobby and breakfast Room was very basic - but clean
The hotel was very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice. Absolutely spot on location.
Location and breakfast
Good location, price and staff. Excellent breakfast and wi-fi service. Decor a little dated and teutonic. Lacking atmosphere for a long term stay, but excellent business and city trip choice
I enjoyed the friendly and understanding staff, who, despite my lack of knowledge of the Italian language, were able to help me in English. Breakfast was great too.
Main attractions are within walking distance from the hotel yet still away from the hustle and bustle of the main center. The main train station, Verona Porta Nuova, is approximately a 15 minute walk from the hotel as well. Rooms are well insulated from outside noise. The elevators when in use make a roaring sound which can be bothersome if your room is near them. I requested a room change which the staff helpfully accomodated.
Had a very pleasant stay; very close to city center, piazza bra and arena Only thing we didn't like was not being able to have air conditioning; my wife and I both have a medical condition where our body temperature sometimes fluctuates. room was very, very hot when we first entered it. what helped to counter not having air conditioning when we needed it was being able to open the big window in the room. had a room towards the back of hotel, and noise level wasn't bad.
Good service by helpful and accommodating staff and this compensates for simple room and the fact that internet has to be paid for (in my case it didn't work even I wanted to pay). Good breakfast. Internet should be free....and no good as I failed to connect
I liked most things- it was very enjoyable. And the breakfast was excellent. More info in the room about things to do in Verona
good location, very comfortable accommodation and very helpful staff N/A
