Not much to like - see below.. Property was all but impossible to find as it is not really a hotel but rooms in an apartment block. No signage outside at all. Staff were polite but offered no real essential info such as the need to input a code to get in after office hours or how to access the garage (not supplied at check-in). Location is by a busy rail crossing on a main road and very noisy 24/7. Rooms were a decent size but minimally kitted out for self-catering. Cleanliness was dubious. Would not advise anyone to book.
Good relation of comfort to price. Clean and cosy. Very safe and good located. Parking for free on weekends.
garage facility proximity of the railway line - it was very noisy. I would have liked the towels to be changed and bins emptied at some time in 4 days. I was not told it was a double bed- I needed 2 singles
1. They had a room available when the Ibis Hotel in Thonon was full. Also, the "hotel" was very close to the train station. This is not really a hotel, but rather a short term furnished apartment rental. The basics were there: clean bedding and towels, and adequate furnishings. It took 3 days for the people in the registration office to figure out and tell me how to access the internet.
Very clean. Convenient from Thonon station & bakery. Noisy. When I arrived the residence, nobady was working in the reception desk. So, I had to call the person in charge of the residence.
we had a family room with balcony which was great. in town but walking distance of lovely lakeside with nice restaurants and public outdoor pool\beach area. lady on reception very friendly and helpful when our car battery died! the only downside was noisy trains however they had good double glazing!
Very close to the lake by walk distance. new facility, good equipped for DIY. Carrefour market is just behind the building. We stayed during the weekend, and booked 4 pepole room, but the hot water is just enough for 2. The appartment is 5 meter next to the railway.
Very few hotels are actually on Lake Geneva either on the Swiss or Fremch sides of the lake, Chateau De Coudree is, you are only a few steps away from the lakes edge to take a drink and admire the view or swim in the lake. The restaurant food is very good if a little on the expensive side, however the chairs are not very comfortable particulary if you lean back.
Beautiful grounds and access to the lake including a pier. Fantastic old castle. Dinner here is very expensive. For some people, the seven flights of stairs (some up, some down) to access our room might be undoable even with a porter to carry the baggage. We did not really have a problem with this because an elevator can't always be avail in such a building.
Location Very expensive for the facilities
The age and history of the chateau was fabulous along with the lake location. Too bad no elevator, but we realize it was 1500 years ago that it was built. no elevator.
The castle is as advertised, authentic and right on the lake. Interesting rooms, friendly staff (who speak English), beautiful gardens. it would be a great spot for a wedding or family function. If traveling with kids, suggest that you don't go to the restaurant for dinner. It's too expensive and fussy for the children. I also didn't like the fact that the swimming pool is located next to the restaurant - I was very aware of how loud my kids are (which doesn't make for a relaxing evening for anyone).
Location and beautiful views from room; size of room; pleasant bathroom; breakfast at lake edge. Mezzanine level sleeping difficult as it was such a hot night - impossible to leave windows open due to insects and there is no ac. Impossible to regulate temperature of water easily - in sink and shower the dominant temperature was roasting hot.
Beautiful view of lake and garden. Breakfast was really poor. only a few limited food for 3days all same menu.
Beautiful setting right on the lake, great food inc. breakfast outdoors by the lake! The Chateau is new to Booking.com & we reserved a "standard" room because the rate was so good-we found ourselves in a "chalet," not in the castle. Our first reaction was-is this a joke! The "chalet" was a rundown wooden structure away from the hotel & the lake w/shabby carpeting & lampshades that were wobbly or ripped! What made us think the hotel took this seriously was the beautifully appointed bathroom & WC room. They should definately make future patrons aware of what they're getting for the money-others may not be amused! We chose to make the best of it as the castle rooms all started at 258 Euros/night and we loved being on the lake.
The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful, The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is set back from the town/lake but we didnt mind as used the car. It was a good location to visit Yvoire, Evian & Montreaux, Pool area was a bit grubby. The reception area is dated and the corridoors are gloomy
Friendly staff, location, excellent base to tour the area.
The lady on reception couldn't do enough to help, even contacted a motorbike garage who gave the bike a quick check, filling the coolant, and refusing any money as I was a guest at this hotel. Now that's service. no
Lovely large room, very well equipped, furnishings and fittings excellent, loved the balcony.
Excellent facilities provided in room.
The hotel was clean with nice friendly staff and would certianly return. No
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Location. Service and food in the restaurant.
comfortable room, good breakfest little bit far from centre town
The room was very good and spacious
Very helpful receptionist/managaress. Unexpected kitchen facilities which were most useful for our picnic lunch with soup on a rainy day. Swimming pool very small but would have been as enjoyable as we had planned if it had not rained our two days here. Extraordinarily badly run restaurant so that dinner meal (which was actually quite good) could not be enjoyed because of anxiety created on timing, delivery, etc., plus inattentive waiter upsetting bottle of red wine over us and ruining my husband's favourite shirt and my best cardigan.
food, staff, room, location were all excellent. very french so it felt as if you were immersed in the country
The hotel crew is fantastic, very pleasant people. Family and friendly feeling. I really enjoyd it - and I really enjoyd the food. Clear rooms, nice swimming pool. I can recommend it.
One of our best stays in a two-month tour of Italy and France. The location is stunning, the hotel a great value, and the staff seems like old friends now. We were there almost a week, with demi-pension (two meals/day). The food was excellent. For a budget (2-star) hotel, this is one of the best we've ever experienced. Much better than we had in Paris for 2.5 times the price.
Peaceful! Superb view; Charming; Very clean; Acceuil des propriétaires très chaleureux. Very good meals - Sélection d'aliments et de menus régionaux. Room available at arrival; stationnement disponible; Sentiers pédestres. need to eat on site - as quite isolated - but that is what we wanted.
Excellent stay but need kettle and cups etc in room.
Having the kitchen was great. Lovely clean bathroon and bedding
Excellent heating and hot water
Staff didn't speak much english but was very friendly and helpful. Hotel discription said that wireless internet works in the whole hotel. There was only two "hotspots": dining room and first floor entry. It was a dissappointment!
The hotel manager was very friendly and accomodating. We had a wonderful stay.
It was a studio with kitchen and therefore much bigger than any French hotel The parking was so small, it was very difficult to maneuvre
The situation in relation to Thonon, mountains, lake, Evian and shopping facilities and ferries to Switzerland. A larger car parking area would be beneficial as places were reserved by other guests for their return to the hotel in the evening.
The price per night. The restaurant wasn't very good, also the breakfast wasn't worth the amount asked for it.
Their location is easy to find, 24/7 reception, free parking and internet access. The stuff of the hotel doesn't speak English and that has as result issues in our communication. They also have to improve the quality of internet connectivity.
Very convenient location: close to the center and the port. Supermarket and laundry nearby. Rooms are equipped with microwave and fridge, which makes it the perfect place to organize your own breakfast or meals and not waste money eating outside.
Good hotel for long stays. Good location close to town center.
We liked that they had a refrigerator (and a stove in case it's needed), and the beach that is really near. The room was pretty tasteless, but acceptable. I wouldn't like to stay there all day and we didn't intend to, so that's ok. Nothing true about free public parking. Only "payant" - that is, paying places nearby and they even have a marketplace that occupies paying places around the hotel every wednesday, maybe more. Not sure because they can neither speak or write English, not the least.
The stunning views. The myriad of eating places. Friendliness of locals.
The evening meals down on the lakeside. We arrived just after 4 pm and had to wait for 30 minutes as our room had not been cleaned - it should have been available from 12. No free parking - had topay each day and no hotel spaces. This meant when you returned you had to find a space somewhere. Each morning we had to find a member of staff and ask for breakfast. Breakfast was poor and service was terrible. Staff were not helpful. No spoken or written English. I would not recommend this establishment or stay there again.
centrally located; providing an excellent breakfast and represented good value for money staff could have been better informed regarding transportation questions raised
The hotel is a set of appartments, which makes it comfortable for creating at least the own breakfast. Service for Internet problems very good.
Location, price, staff Some noise of the streets
a good location very little english spoken.
Lovely warm and friendly staff with a generous hospitality which extended over our stay. Beautiful views and a room with facilities that meant it could be used as an apartment. The softest towels we have found in France!
Nice neighbourhood, relaxing nature around. You have to have a dinner at the hotel. We had cheese fondue, and they also offered us a fantastic salad. This was a dinner I have never had before. Also you may walk further along the road between hotel houses, and reach a nice mountain river with small waterfalls etc. Most likely you will head its sound in the morning.
Everything, special the simpatie, and the surpresi at the Christimans night. Wonderful, thank you.
The beautiful location. Lovely walks in the snow through the forest and a waterfall out side the hotel. Access to the hotel from Geneva Airport. Was a bit deserted in the town Bellevaux.
Excellent people very warm and kind The room was ok but the bed was small
