The staff were very helpful & the food was excellent.
Good hotel close to French/Belgian border. Very helpful staff and excellent evening meal.
Large spacious room, fantastic view. Food was excellent. Two single beds pushed together to form a double.
The owner was really friendly and there was plenty of parking space and a lovely room and evening meal.
Manager was helpful. The room was warm and clean. The breakfast was good. The walls are thin and I was woken up very early by inconsiderate guests who turned the volume up on their room TV. You cannot shower easily as there are no shower screens or hooks to fit the shower heads onto.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and the rooms were comfortable. It was situated in a beautiful position with wonderful views although it may be noisy at the weekends as it is on a through road. The beds were very basic and rather uncomfortable. There was no where to sit and relax enabling you to meet other guests, as all the public rooms were set for meals.
Exceptional 5* standard, nothing too much trouble, friendly, romantic, relaxing, attention to every little detail so much more than we expected would reccommend De Rentmeersterhoeve it has an interesting history, hope to be be returning soon.
Excellent location, superb hosts, lovely atmosphere. We would have liked tea & coffee facilities in our room - although we were told to ask for anything we wanted at any time (which we did). However it would be nice to have the facility without having to bother anyone!
Lovely B & B. Hostess very hospitable. Did not take advantage of breakfast, but had a wonderful dinner.
This was beyond good. It was excellent. The attention to detail was amazing. So very luxurious. Very peaceful. Utterly amazing. Nothing like a B & B. Think very small luxury Hotel. There was nothing not to like.
We were very warmly welcomed by the hostess and given drinks on arrival. Our host gave us plenty of informaiton about the local area which helped immensely with the visit. The location is beautiful and the room was decorated to a very high standard. The grounds are beautiful with a variety of animals, including deer, dogs, cats and sheep. We had to pay in cash, which we didn't anticipate which meant we had to take out extra foreign currency. Ideally payment could be made by card.
Beautifully presented accommodation, very welcoming and helpful hostess, excellent breakfast (we did not eat dinner there.) Excellently situated for easy access to Ypres and the WW1 battlefields. Nothing.
The room was wonderful;spacious, full of interesting artefacts and comfortable. Food excellent. Hostess exceptionally charming and helpful. Location was a bit awkward - fairly hard to find
Great meals! Signage and directions could be improved!
The hotel offered bar facilties whenever we returned to the hotel. The rooms were always very clean. The room was very small, the twin beds were pushed together just like a double bed. The barman did not fill glasses to the right amount. Very limited food menu. Hotel well away from village - needed transport.
The view, and the food No
wonderful views, very picturesque, charming staff, cosy & comfortable, good atmosphere, exquisite dinner, fantastic breakfast, small and homely. maybe a lift would be a good idea?
The quality of the hotel was excellent with good service and facilities. With interesting surroundings and good centre for sightseeing.
Stunning views & welcoming staff
Excellent food, fine wines and very good service both at dinner and breakfast The bathrooms are a bit on the small side but this is more than made up for by the views and the atmosphere
The location of the hotel is excellent. We had a twin room with a truly superb view over the valley (that is well worth the litle extra that one has to pay). The staff were pleasant and friendly, and the lady on reception when we came to depart was especially charming. One the evening that we stayed in the hotel there was a large function booked, and this consumed the greater part of the staff's attention. As a consequence there was little or no bar service and at least one guest left the bar without having been able to order a drink. Service at dinner was similarly sparse: it took two hours to have two courses served. The dinner menu is fine for anyone passionate about lobster, but otherwise there is relatively little choice. That is curious, given that the chef apparently has a international reputation. However, the food we chose (not lobster) was excellent, and probably better than any we had had in France, so I would not wish to put anyone off from visiting this very pleasant hotel.
The view and the food
Beautiful surroundings and stunning views. Room facilities very good. Room was slightly on the small side.
