Everything, very friendly staff and nice clean rooms, nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent Value None
Excellent hotel, easy to access, and even though it is near to a busy road there was no traffic noise. No restaurant but the auberge next door provided a very good and reasonably priced evening meal.
Friendliness of staff.
Easy to locate, secure private parking, friendly and helpful reception, clean and comfortable room and facilities. Excellent value. There was nothing which I did not like.
Very impressed with all aspects of the hotel, other that set out below. No food on site, had to travell into town to get a meal.
Clean & compact room. Breakfast being an extra cost. You should include a basic breakfast and charge extra for a full breakfast.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming I felt the bathroom sink could have been cleaned on a daily basis. the towels were of poor quality and the coffee cups in the room cheap and nasty.
Ideal for stop over whilst travelling, easy to find and room nice and spacious. Difficult to receive the free wifi system if you were not near reception.
Great welcome and very friendly. Hotel was extremely clean and tidy and the facilities in the rooms were good with ample supplies of toiletries and towels.
good restarant carpet needed a good shampooing. To remove some smells
Convenience for roads and other facilities Breakfast could have been better
Friendly staff. Good and cheap breakfast. The hotel is not in walking distance of Chateaudun.
Excellent staff, served dinner despite late arrival at amlost 22.00 Tired appearance of buildings, facilities, shower tepid and leaked
Very clean room with perfectly adequate facilities and fairly close to centre.
Arrived late, note on door with phone number to contact staff, staff arrived to explain about a minor problem, very polite and welcoming.
The room was pokey with only one bed light. This is the first French hotel I have stayed in where croissants were not supplied with the breakfast which was poor value for money.
None No tea/coffee facilities in the room. Un carpetted floors and stairs. Decorators had spilt as much paint on the floors as was on walls!!! Bedding was clean, but just consisted of an uncovered duvet.
The bedroom was designed to accommodate three people but not for them to enjoy the room. Bedside lighting was obstructed by the furniture. Facilities were industrially organised.
beautifull building and very well restored.
Beautiful building, Very grand setting, quiet rural retreat Room very small, limited facilities
Tranquility, chateau-style My only point is that there is only breakfat served and it is a 10 minute drive to the nearest town
Very beautiful immediate surroundings - rooms decorated to a good standard The bar shut very early so arrinving at 10pm the only way to have a drink was outside. With no offer/ oppourtunity for a second drink. No facillities in room i.e bottled water or similar which I wouild have expected.
It is a very pleasant place to stay: well appointed and well run.
location was wonderful was dissapointed was not in main chateau was put in annexe which felt like staying in a barn
Relaxed well appointed and very comforatable with friendly helpful staff
excelllent staff, location, hotel itslef, quietness and tranquility size of the room
we were upgraded to a superior room in one of the outbuildings and in spite of the comments of a previous visitor, we found it quiet and relaxing! Breakfast, served in a very nice breakfast room was excellent. As an observation-not a complaint!!- there is no restaurant on site so a car trip is necessary if you wish to have an evening meal. The hotel is in a remote situation and not particularly easy to find
We attended a wedding locally. No - wonderful!
A wonderful old hunting lodge deep in the forest with beautiful grounds and great food. A perfect place to unwind after a long days drive. The bedroom was comfortable although in need of some tasteful modernisation.
Location, views Not enough coathangers, drawers or storage. Double booked on our last night and had to move but did help us by phoning hotel for us but we organised additional room at our second hotel
Lovely location, friendly helpful staff, nice and quiet. Managed to negotiate a 10% reduction on cost for half board (eg price of room, breakfast and menu added together minus 10%) Room ok but bathroom a bit chatty and rundown. Breakfast a bit expensive at €11.50 for continental
Lovely quiet, peacful setting in the day. V expensive food & drink Breakfast 11.50€, poor selection with no choice 25cl beer 5€!!!!!!! Room left unlocked by cleaner Towels not changed Shabby decor
A beautiful, historic building with wonderful furnishings, particularly in the dining room. The food was gourmet - an excellent meal of fresh ingredients prepared and served with flair and imagination.
The hotel has a very lovely and fabulous location in a forest area, nearby is a small lake. At night only some owl hoots could “disturb” your sleep. In the restaurant you can have warm meals till 22:00. The building is some kind hunting lodge built in the 18th century – so you experience little touch of ancient ages. Hotel staff is very mastered in speaking English. The breakfast is a standard French petit-déjeuner with coffee, croissants and some butter. But the service personal was pretty kind and could organise some cheese and cooked ham. A little bit vegs woul be pretty fine.
Marvellous traditional French cooking
a quiet hotel with an understated sophisticated edge without being snobbish.A very relaxing place to stay good for overnight stops or as a base to explore the region. Excellent meal (but please relaise that the very good food takes time to prepare!) V good continental breakfast also
Lovely location, quiet with lovely gardens Breakfatst at ?1.50 per person for bread and juice and tea is too much
The building was lovely from the outside. We were given the key to a room that was already occupied, our room was shabby and the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. Breakfast was indifferent with weak coffee.
The ambience and the history of this little town
Very basic hotel in a really 'dead or alive' village where the only restaurant open - like the hotel - closed it's doors to customers at 9pm. So did all the cafe/bars except one.
Friendly and helpful staff, room was quiet, clean and comfortable, breakfast was good. There was a lock-up garage provided for our motorcycles too. I shall definitely stay here again when I am in the area.
The square in front of the hotel provided free parking and a restaurant. The hotel proprietor was friendly but appeared to be operating single handed. The website photos are flattering to say the least. The hotel felt run down and in need of a face lift. The room was small & basic and could have been cleaner.
This is a very nice budget hotel- in fact it seems to be the only hotel in Chateaudun! It was a bit noisy with other guests coming and going but the rooms were very clean and comfortable Nothing bad to report. If you just need a room and breakfast this hotel s fine
Handy location in a nice town. no lift, cramped room, poor quality facilities.
It was clean Lack of AC. It was very hot.
It was very good value for money and one of the staff in particular was very helpful and friendly. They were also very flexible about us arriving late at night and gave us the door code so we didn't have to disturb anyone. The colour of the room was very a overpowering shade of orange and I didn't like the seperate toilet and bathroom as the toilet was very tiny.
Very central. Clean
