Manderley Park Farmstay B&B - Warragul - Building
1
9.9 Excellent (36 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Welcome to ‘Manderley Park’, an historic 1930’s Art Deco Country Homestead, set in the heart of West Gippsland’s rolling green hills, yet only a 10 minute drive to the thriving townships of Warragul, Drouin or Neerim South. Upon arrival, be greeted by long time locals Robyn and Colin who will instantly make you feel right at home with their welcoming personalities and country style hospitality. Available for bookings are two Art Deco inspired light filled bedrooms, both with very comfortable king size beds, TV’s and cosy heating. Guests also have access to the main bathroom, which boasts an extra-large shower. The dining room has an open fireplace and comfortable couch  and the TV room includes two recliner chairs, 3 person couch and a large screen TV. A delicious continental breakfast can be enjoyed either in the courtyard or in front of the open fireplace in the dining room.     Your stay at ‘Manderley Park’ can take many directions, some of which could include taking to time:  Cosy up in front of the open log fire with a good book and a bottle of wine to relax the day away in style. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the meticulously kept cottage garden, which boasts an array of spectacular flowers and large leafy trees. You may even choose to take a pot of tea out into the courtyard and watch the every changing birdlife come and go throughout the day. Throw on your old clothes and help Robyn and Colin to feed their calves and milk a couple of cows – up until recently Manderley Park was a thriving dairy farm. Today, only 6 cows are kept on the property, which are milked once a day to provide milk for the calves. Take a 10 minute drive into the township of Warragul, where you’ll find an array of fabulous bars and restaurants, the West Gippsland Arts Centre where terrific acts often perform, 6 screen movie theatre, local boutique shopping, Woolworths and Coles plus many other local attractions. Indulge at the ‘Brandy Creek Estate’ world-class spa experience set amongst the Gippsland vines – this is highly recommended and located only 10 minutes’ drive! Drive to Yarragon for a Devonshire Tea before exploring the many antique and boutique local shops.     Visit MT Baw Baw, which takes approximately 1 hour drive time. Enjoy excellent skiing in the winter months or bushwalking/cross country mountain biking in the warmer months  Manderley Park is also located an easy 15 minute drive to the ever happening Lardner Park – making it the ideal destination for people attending events there.   Robyn and Colin look forward to welcoming all couples, families, friends or business travellers into their 1930’s homestead.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay. We wanted somewhere to relax and we were able to do just that at Tallawarra. Andrey and Janine were extremely accommodating and we really appreciated the unexpected flourishes like fresh fruit and chocolates in our room, bottles of water for our walk to Mt Cannibal, scones with jam and cream on Saturday afternoon, delicious cooked breakfasts and an abundance of reading material. The property itself is lovely, we really enjoyed looking out onto wildlife from the deck, spotting an echidna, kangaroos and many types of birds. The location is close to the convenience of Garfield, Bunyip and surrounding attractions, but also far away enough that we really felt like we were away. We look forward to our next stay.

Linbridgeford - Drouin - Building
6
8.8 Excellent (24 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Linbridgeford is situated in Drouin. Guests benefit from a balcony and a barbecue. The country house features a flat-screen TV. There is a seating area, a dining area and a kitchen complete with a dishwasher, a microwave and a fridge. Warragul is 9 km from the country house.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is lovely and centrally located. The size of the property is very deceptive with large bedrooms and living areas. It has an old world feel with the antique / 40's furniture and nic nacs. The kitchen / dining is very homely. The house has in floor heating which was very efficient and kept the house cosy for my entire visit. Although I didn't use it, there is an extensive back deck with BBQ and a large back yard which would be ideal for families on holidays.
Cons: Only minor - I was disappointed I was unable to park my car in the driveway. Some of the plants are a little overgrown and prevented the gates opening adequately. Pity I couldn't stay longer to investigate the area more :). With the strong winds on the evening the TV arial struggled to maintain good reception.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the period features of the home. The scenery from the deck was beautiful and peaceful. The location was in the town and central to all amenities.
Cons: We are used to a king sized bed and therefore the bed was smaller than expected. The bed was not as comfortable as we would have liked and my partner did not sleep well and woke up with a sore back.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location. Beds were comfy
Cons: Water in toilet ran all the time. No gas ignition to light oven Oven didn’t work at all Exhaust fan didn’t work from unit. Had to stand on a chair to open above cupboard to turn on at power point Ironing board kept on collapsing So many occupational hazards things in this house No instructions readily available as to how to lock front door or how to operate stove These items should be left on bench for everyone to see. Stained tea and coffee mugs Not happy. The top amount charged with poor results
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and great garden
Cons: Double beds a bit small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very accommodating and welcoming. The house was really well appointed and warm and comfortable and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful old house with all mod cons.
Cons: The mattress on the bed was a little too hard.would have liked something softer. Would have liked instructions for working the tv.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The building itself was beautiful and in a central location. The owner was lovely. Central heating was very much appreciated at this time of year. Large backyard, lovely view. Large bathroom with toilet plus a separate toilet off laundry which was great when staying with so many people.
Cons: “Bed six” was a trundle bed, was not advertised as such and not made up on arrival. We were left to do this ourselves only to find the mattress covered in mouse urine and faeces. The mattress was very thin, not appropriate for sleeping on. The property was booked for six adults, however I would suggest five as a maximum. One adult had to sleep on a mattress found under the double bed in the main bedroom set up by ourselves in the lounge room. General cleanliness was poor. Lamps set up in every room, however no globes and not plugged in. Difficult to access parking in backyard due to narrow gate and plants overgrowing driveway, we ended up parking on the verge for the duration of our stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Period details, clean and warm
Cons: Although we appreciated the bed being of period theme it was small and mattress a bit too hard

Cons: Just the location-not close to anything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Stayed there overnight to enjoy the local Warragul attractions by car. Suited our needs. Stayed in a family unit as we travelled with 2 young children aged 7 and 6. It had a split system A/Con and heating unit in the open lounge dining area which came in handy as we stayed there during winter. The reception area has a DVD library available to guests.
Cons: Decor is dated and not very appealing, but the place was clean enough for me to feel comfortable. The shower is over a spa bath tub that was quite high to step into. It would only pose a problem if you have mobility issues

5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was beautiful. Very quiet, with green, rolling hills and the grapevines surrounding the property. A lovely part of Gippsland. The rooms were large, the bathroom luxurious looking, with a deep spa bath and large shower. The communal area was well stocked and there was plenty of space.
Cons: I was contacted by the owner the day before I was to arrive to let me know there may not be anyone at the property and with instructions on how to let myself in. Upon arrival I found my room but found it odd that all the rooms were left open and there were a few signs that the bathroom hadn't been fully cleaned (empty toilet roll and half used shampoo). I discovered there was no tv in the bedroom, with one in the communal lounge area. When I turned it on there was no reception and I couldn't work out how to use it. I didn't have the code to connect to the internet so I called Connie (I had been given a couple of contacts and numbers from the owner) and she let me know where that was. I was told the TV also needed a code entered, but Connie wasn't familiar with the steps to follow to do this as the system was relatively new. Connie arrived about 40 minutes later and I let her know I was ok without the tv. When I went to shower I discovered there was no hot water! That was the worst thing about the stay, as it made me feel like they couldn't even be bothered to turn on the hot water system to make me feel somewhat welcome. I was in the house on my own for the night, which didn't bother me, but was a bit strange. I didn't make myself breakfast in the morning, and locked up the house as instructed. When I got to the gate I found it was padlocked, and I didn't have the combination to get out. I rang James, the other contact, and got it from him. I was disappointed and felt unwelcome. While I paid a discounted price, I certainly received a greatly discounted service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hari is a fantastic host, he is really helpful, he tried to help us to feel about the gypsy creek as our home. The huge villa with all facilities in all rooms, kitchen is full of all necessary materials. Hari also help us to book a horse riding course to make us more happier. I strongly recommend this place if you would like to have a memorable experience about the Winnery, living in nature, walking around a beautiful farm with a natural ake and horse riding in jungle. Have a lovely staying in the Gypsy Creek Winnery
Cons: Absolutely nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location was pretty - heater was good.
Cons: Room was WAY overpriced for what we got. Firstly, it was only a bedroom - no TV, no kettle, Bathroom had no toilet roll holder. Had to use a communal kitchen - which we wern't told about. The owner seemed very un-organised and wasn't even expecting us!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The photos on the Booking.com site suggested that this property looked nice but...
Cons: The photos that were / are on the Booking.com site showing this property were obviously taken when somebody actually maintained it. When we turned up, we spent 30 mins trying to find a single soul to help show us to our room, let alone say hello. And the state of disrepair of the property was - seriously - disgraceful (given the price charged). Have taken photos and happy to share them. We genuinely thought the owners must have died or something - it looked like a dilapidated old hovel, not a “B&B” winery
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Very quiet. The communal kitchen is very generously stocked with anything a guest might want. The owner Hari is a delightful gentleman, very friendly and accommodating. He’s more than happy to share his wonderful wines.
Cons: Not the property’s fault, but it’s bloody dark out there at night, with no street lights anywhere along the way once you get off the main road. Recommend slowing down if you’re arriving after sundown, especially the first time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host. Lovely enbironment. Tidy rooms. Very casual and welcoming. Highly reccomend.
Cons: It was a great stay. Loved it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner was very accommodating & welcoming. Great accommodation & clean. Would liked to have stayed longer. Recommended.
Cons: A little difficult to find at night.
5.8 Okay
Pros: james Tried his best
Cons: The bed was broken they did move us to another room after one night as the stated they did not know bed was broken poor facilities in room no toiletries supposed to have a kitchenette but no toaster mugs cultlery etc spent fortune eating out air con first room not working tv not work We thought this was still a working winery with a restaurant as per web site but learnt not been opened for two years Very disappointing realise work in progress but why did we need to be the guinea pigs! Please booking.com check your website save us being so disappointed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room with a beautiful view, great bathroom and kitchenette as well. Location is quiet and a bit secluded but only a little way from town, with bunyip state park a quick drive away. Hari was lovely to deal with, and made the whole process very easy. It is an especially stunning place at night, if you want comfort while being a little out of the way I'd definitely reccomend Gypsy creek!
