Hotel has changed management. No problem. However, it would have been better if regular customers were informed (this website?). No bathrobe etc., Everything a little less luxurious. Free Internet was gone. No sorry from personnel.
Large, very good beds. Clean. Quiet rural area. No attention was given to defects in the room that we had submitted.
Polite staff, espresso machine in each room, good bathrooms and pleasant grounds. Good for a short break. No option of a larger room or mini suite: the workspace/desk was too small for a longer stay and there was no room wifi. The gym equipment was limited, especially for weight training, and the menu was similarly limited. Not good for a longer stay or business use - but this is not its intended target market.
The pool and the surroundings were really great. I didn't stay long enough to enjoy the rest of the facilities, including the restaurant.
everything The extractor fan (afzuigsystem?) in the room does not switch off so it was very difficult to sleep. There is also a light switch attached to the bed which has an internal glow light (I guess so that you can see it in the dark). This also stays on all night making it even more difficult to sleep. They are little things but customers having very little sleep is not good for the hotels reputation.
We had a lovely stay and enjoyed it very much. The Staff was very freindly and proffesionel.
The large rooms in a rural setting was a treat. The food was excellent and the pool and sauna exceptional
Restaurant food is excellent.
Top quality, helpful staff in beautiful setting
Appointments were excellent Staff needs training and management is terrible
Meals were realy great
Excellent service and hospitality from manager Mrs. Renate Vink and her staff. Been a regular at Hotel Buxus for the last 6 years or so thanks to the annual Superbike and Supersport races in nearby Assen. Will be back again next year so Mrs. Renate Vink has already marked me down in her calendar.
Nice and friendly staff. Nice restaurant. Screaming guests in the middle of the night. Small tv at large distance of the bed.
The quietness and relax surrounding
My stay at the hotel was very short (one night), but the staf I talked to was very nice and they gave us hot water for tea to our travel home for free.
The restaurant was very good and popular. The restaurant was non-smoking - this meant that the smokers stood outside to smoke. The problem was this is right outside the door to room 1 which was the room that I was in.
Nice place to stay. We will visit them next year during Superbikes Weekend in Assen!!! None
good location.sat nav went straight to it.good food, drink and room
Comfortable and reasonably well equipped room. A real "small village" hotel. Good breakfast and also lunch could be made. Very basic, no minibar. A used towel and soap in bathroom.
A small family run hotel, the staff were very friendly and accomodating.
Very good price. Friendly and flexible staff. Quiet during the night. I could not use the shower in my room since the water didn't flow as it should through the hole in the floor. I had to shower sitting down in the bathtub.
Location Unhelpfull management/Staff. Noisy from 6am. Closing the bar and grill early 3 out of 4 nights. We just got given the keys to the rooms and never got told any times for breakfast, lunch or even dinner times we had to ask for all. Hardly ever spoken to other than good morning. We all felt like we were an inconvieniance to the hotel and at an average of 50 euros per eveng for a basic room and breakfast you would expect a little courtesey and a functioning bar and grill.
It's cozy, friendly atmosphere and staff. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is attentive and fast, even late in the evening. The beds are just a little bit too short for me: I'm 1m96 (almost 6'6"). The city of Exloo should be very much ashamed of themselves for letting the works on the roads be delayed like this. The hotel is difficult to be reached and the streets are a mess and should be fixed sooner than later. Fortunaltely, the hotel staff handles all related problems with care.
Nice small hotel, friendly people. Just 1 thing missing: hairdryer.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, great food, clean and tidy. Would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the rooms
Location Breakfast, no tea or coffee making facilities, we stayed for four nights and room was not cleaned once during our stay nor did we have clean towels each day
Really sweet staff, very good service and very nice breakfast. The hotel looks beautiful and the area is perfect to relax. The curtains of the bedrooms are too thin so you awake at 6h in the morning with too much light in the room and the windows don't isolate enough, so you hear the birds singing really loud and all the time, so you can't sleep anymore. The pillows are very uncomfortable, I had pain in my neck for some days after.
very friendly staff and really excellent, value-for-money food.
Very relaxed and informal, location in countryside (farm), nice dinner, I assume great for families with kids. Bedrooms a bit oldfashioned but okay.
The personal approach you get in a truly family run place. A little bit too informal, family life spilling into the hotel.. kids eating soft boiled eggs in the reception.
Rustic atmosphere Walls were a bit thin
Very friendly host, nice rooms, beautiful scenery.
Everything. We would definitely stay there again. No
clean, big rooms; good beds; enough information about the village, like restaurants and events; welcoming staff breakfast could be better
We loved our stay, the room was spacious with a great bathroom, and the hotel itself is a beautiful old farmhouse in the Drenthe countryside. The owners were very friendly and happy to provide information about the area without being in your face. Plenty of nice villages and countryside nearby, ideal for a relaxing vacation.
the hospitality, the service of the land-lady
the hospetality, the room, the service and the serenety no
1. " silence is golden" 2. TV had Belgian programs TV1 and Canvas nothing
I selected this Hotel for the race in Assen because of the location of the Hotel. It turns out to be an excellent atmosphere and good service (especially with Rob). I definetly recommend it.
Rural location + ground floor private terrace (room opened on to garden). Breakfast excellent (variety and quantity), but poorly organised (meant waiting while waitress kept returning to kitchen to replenish the buffet as initially not enough coffee, milk, rolls, boiled eggs, etc had been put out). Odd too that a glass of fruit juice was brought to your table - while the rest was buffet style! Restaurant: extremely slow service with a very long wait for each course (meal lasted nearly 3 hours) - we left without taking a dessert (too tired!). Cooking ("nouvelle cuisine") was excellent, if a little expensive. The focus seemed to be on the food and the cooks rather than the guests (we were there to appreciate their skills and had to accept the wait).
Very relaxing and peaceful hotel set in a lovely village atmosphere
Easy to find very relaxing Good food No
Very very good restaurant
Very good hotel, extremely friendly staff!
