The castle and the grounds unfriendly staff, poor service, poor food
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were very professional and friendly, and the food was excellent. The bedroom decor was excellent with every need catered for.
Very private and peaceful setting. Enjoyable stay I loved everything
Set in beautiful surroundings; the recently opened walled gardens are sa delight.
Beautiful expansive grounds
The relaxed atmosphere coupled with the efficient and friendly staff. Maybe there could have been more waymarked walks within the site.
fantastic hotel ! had a wonderful stay - very relaxing and the food was excellent! Irish breakfast was to die for !
Very relaxing atmosphere at the hotel, the food was lovely although the menu could be a bit more varied both in the bar and restaurant. Staff very professional and courteous. Rooms were clean and spacious. Lovely location. Had a nice time there but wouldnt rush back Sign posts to the hotel not easy to see at night time, no swimming pool or leisure facilities as advertised attached to the hotel. dinner in the restaurant was expensive
everything - it was a wonderful experience - it is a treat to stay in such an historic facility - and have everything you need - the staff were great - will go back - great to have specials so the prices do not become out of the world - beautiful grounds and gardens
style of hotel, bed was very comfortable We did not like the fact that we were in a different building to the actual hotel itself (without any internal link), without being previously told.
We had a very enjoyable stay. We enjoyed the quiteness and the hotel was very clean. The food was very good. The staff were very friendly. Just one minor gripe. We only has 4-5 stations on the TV - we had RTE2 but not RTE1. We said nothing - maybe someone had simply tuned them out before.
We stayed in Castle Dargan for just one night for a wedding. The rooms are really luxurious and had everything you need. The food was lovely and the bar has a nice view overlooking the golf course.
Lovely and new and nice and quite If that is what you are looking for Yes, I was going to book a 4 ball for golf for 3 clients of mine and stay over, the rate for staying over with green fees was excellent, but having eaten in the restaurant it was over priced, not very good and put me off as you would then have to travel for food
the whole experience
lovely size rooms, bright and comfortable duvet too heavy, and level of noise in bar too much. The sound is not absorbed
Friendly and clean Bar area, no atmosphere and cold
Staff were lovely, very helpful. Beautiful grounds and just a lovely place. Would definitely recommend. For those of us from overseas who are unaware, please be advised that there are 2 Ballygawleys in Ireland. (one northern and one southern) make sure you have the correct one, as they are 2 hours away from each other. You guessed it we went to the wrong one!!! But Castle Dargan was well worth the 2 hour trip.
Sole reason for visit was golf/relaxation Lack of receipt issue in bar.
The location is great piece and quiet yet near the city if needed.
Nothing This is a guesthouse. Bearing in mind that we were the only guests and all the other rooms were empty the owner gave us one room which was a dormer room. I could only stand up on one side of the bed.
bed noisy water pump in attic going off ever few minutes. could not sleep
deck on to the lake side....drumshanbo and playground location excellent!!
Excellence of staff, very high standard of cleanliness throughout A bit expensive.
The access drive could be improved
the outdoor spa was good.view over lough from room was excellent set menu only in main restaurant was expensive. no a la carte menu
location, facilities, the restaurant was extremely good, staff all very freindly
The floor staff particularly SEbastian from Poland was great help and friendly as were others. You say the check in was 2pm. We arrived at 4pm and our room was not ready till 5pm. We got a different room than booked. They said chek in is 4pm. Wouldnt let us use the leisure centre on Sunday after we checked out. We specifically asked for a late check out. manager was rude and unfriendly and we felt we were thrown out. Never happened me before as I stay at hotels at least twice per month.
Location, aimiable and efficient staff Bar menu was a little restricted as was "Last orders" for food at 9pm as I did not arrive util after 8.30pm
Staff were very friendly and in general the food was very good, representing good value for money. the location of the outdoor hot-tub overlooking the lake was great (but it was turned off because it was a windy day!) We got a standard double bed, which I've never got in a hotel before, but it was comfortable. It's more suited to familys than couples - bar & restaurant very 'bright & airy', with no real ambience - though food was good (wine list a bit limited though).
The hotel staff were very nice and helpful throughout the stay. The room was very spacious and very clean. No complaints about this hotel, would have liked to stay an extra day and use their facilities.
friendliness, efficiency and cuisine.
It was a pleasure to stay at the Leitrim Lodge. Frindly family run and surrounded by beautiful peaceful countryside. Definetly be back!
staff very friendly and efficient the bar and restaurant food was excellent the room rate is top value
Nice open fire in the bar and heat in the room when we arrived, parking off street. Tea-making, hairdrier and hot water facilities. Noisy at night, difficult to sleep with sound of traffic/ with lid banging when vehicles went over it, also WC noisy in next room, smell of stale smoke in bedroom, TV there but no remote so not working.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a bar and restaurant attached. Great value for money
Very comfortable, staff efficient and friendly Bar and restaurant food exceptional, good athmsphere in surrounding bars and restaurants overall highly recommended
