I was searching for a central location that wasn't a fancy hotel. O'Donaghue's was perfect and busy for the two nights I stayed. The price was right and close to shopping, restaurants, pubs and parks. I especially enjoyed St Stephen's Green Park. It's an awesome place to get your steps in.
I wasn't used to climbing stairs but when I checked in they carried my bags up to my room for me. But no matter, it was a good workout for me.
Excellent location, clean room, comfy bed & great shower. Musicians & singers in the listening corner every night. Great Guinness/Cold Coors & Carlsberg & plenty hard working staff to serve you
Everyone seems to comment about the narrow staircase..yes it’s an Oldy Worldy Pub so what do you expect. Can barely hear the music in the listening corner, as the pub is so busy, which is good of course, but as they are sat near the door everyone pops in to listen and the doorway gets blocked, so you can’t get in!
In a fab location. Live music and excellent atmosphere
The boilers were noisy
Exceptional night in the iconic O’Donaghue’s on Merrion Row in Dublin! From the friendliness of Andrew, our bartender and luggage carrier to Paul telling us the historical significance of this incredible, authentic pub, we were over the moon excited to be there. All expectations were met or exceeded! We are still talking about it a day later as we recount our incredible evening filled with great Craig, amazing music and Guinness ! What a memorable night! Andrew even offered to carry our luggage downstairs for us so we wouldn’t have to struggle in the morning. Thoughtfulness and personable don’t do the personnel justice! Exceptional!
There was nothing we didn’t like!!!
52 stairs to the ‘penthouse’. Breathtaking view of the alley. Best time I’ve had in a very long time.
