The hotel is in the heart of the Cathar country. It is in very beautiful mountain contryside and quite remote. Ideal for a couple or family seeking wonderful views, interested in the Cathar history, looking for real natives to talk to (in both spanish and french) but also enjoying good food and wine, both of which abound in the area. Reception was not manned at any time after being given our keys. Even though we had given a time for our arrival, we had to phone for a code to get in out of the cold and rain and then wait whilst the owner drove across to show us our room. Any queries or problems we had (there were a few) needed a phonecall to the owners home some six miles away and great delay therefore. Otherwise the only contact was through the girl who opened up the breakfast room for our meal. The hotel was effectively closed.
It was very quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable and the scenery was superb. The breakfast was very good.
Service efficient Madame friendly & helpful but tried to hard English translations of menu & other hotel documentation require re-visiting as grammar does not make sense but makes for amusing reading
The hotel was in a beautiful location, and the room, though small, was very clean and comfortable There was no kettle in the room. So necessary when on a touring holiday.
Beautiful setting next to the river. Close enough to town to be useful without the noise. Comfortable room with tidy en-suite. Reception friendly - good English spoken. Small swimming pool best suited for leisure rather than training. I thought tea/coffee making facilities should have been included.
Hotel is in a beautiful location but accessible. Swimming pool is lovely - warm and clean. Room was fine - not large but clean and well equipped.Buffet breakfast good value.
