The stairs and elevators are very confusing
A comfortable and well presented room, with all expected facilities. A basement car park with an intellectually challenging lift link to certain rooms !. Menu and food preparation in retaurant seemed to suffer as result of mid week special offer.
The decor and general condition of the hotel Food was disappointing. Breakfast was over crowded, rushed and food over-cooked. Meal at bar was not cooked fully.
The first thing tnat struck me about this hotel was the internal design. It is thoroughly modern, and all aspects of the decor integrate seamlessly, producing a pleasing unity throughout the Hotel. Although it is thoroughly modern, it evokes a deeply traditional atmosphere, and sitting before the leaping flames of the fire in the foyer, glass in hand, one could imagine oneself as a United Irishman in 1796, anxiously awaiting the arrival of Wolfe Tone and the French Fleet in the Bay, bringing Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité! I think this is an exceptional hotel in the way it combines the past with the modern. Then the staff were excellent; friendly, helpful, welcoming.
comfort of rooms, hotel restauraunt and bar. food excelleny. location. staff friendly and helpful.
This turned out to be more luxurius than we expected for the price we got on booking.com. Huge room with a great king-sized bed, lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi downstairs, flat screen TV with in-room movies... we stayed at the hotel more than we expected during our Bantry visit. Bit of a strange setup - there are three separate sets of elevators - one to rooms, one to suites, and one to the car park. If you use the wrong one, you end up lifting your luggage up sets of stairs.
Beautiful hotel view a beautiful view.
The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and polite. The food was also of a good standard especially the breakfast. We had a great time in the bar and my wife was very impresssed with the wine selection. Our room was clean and spacious with all the necessary facilities The bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were quite hard
My partnet and me are very disapointed of the porr service received last weekend at your hotel. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the morning disrupting our sleep for about 10-15 minutes. When the next day we informed reception about the event the response was disapointing: 'I cannot have control of the fire alarm' the receptionist said. In the lobby the fire place stopped working when my partmer and me sit in there; any member of the staff came to switch on the fire place and when we eventually asked to please do so the response of the receptionis t was: 'Oh, this fire place doesn't work well'. Then he unsuccesfully tried to use a remote control to switch the fire place and let us in the cold after tryinf gor less than 2 minutes. In the night the room wasn't warm.
The Maritime is an elegant hotel, more than anything I enjoyed the design of the room and the view. Even though the hotel is large I always felt my space was private, which is a good feeling. On arrival the bathroom bin was full - apart from this everything was faultless.
It was a great location and great facilities i.e. pool, sauna etc. I hear the food is excellent but unfortunately we never got to sample the restaurant.
The friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast was good and the dining room was modern with great views
Leisure facilities & meals I thought the rooms were in need of some decor.
The food was very good and we also enjoyed the leisure centre.
Location near town
Special service/refreshments made for us when arriving late at night hungry No
Relaxed atmosphere, nice walks in the grounds. walking distance from Bantry Bedroom very basic, but clean.
Staff friendliness Bedrooms beginning to show 'age'. Some updating/minor maintenance (e.g. toilet cistern in room 221) needed.
Most enjoyable.. staff were so friendly no loved hotel... be there again next year
company and leisure centre Customer service was poor. Receptionist was disinterested and gave incorrect responses to queries (ie no key at reception when there was and I had to wake people up before I realised) she gave wrong times for leisure centre and printed off incorrect checking out details. She appeared to not want to be there. Other services - restaurant in morning having to order food and again some staff unhappy to be there or serve customers.
Pool and poolside facilities are second to none. Excellent breakfast. Evening meals reasonably good but not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Restaurant not open on the Wednesday night I was there.
the comfort and the convenience including parkink
Family Orientated Good Service
I love the staff, the gym, and the hotel over all. and i am a regular visitor The only thing i would say is that the fire alarm went off a few times on my last night, it was extremely loud and frightened my child, i didnt get much sleep after it, and was tired all day the next day, i know this wasnt staffs fault, but it was an inconvience to me and my family.
It was a very nice clean hotel, with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
breakfast was great quality kids running wild in the bar after twelve midnight disgraceful. musician trying to play music and all he got was kids running around in front of him with no respect. have kids myself and believe there is a time and place for playing and its not a public bar at midnight
Excellent for families, children made very welcome. On site pool and cinema
Excellent facilities plenty for kids all round good hotel Needed more floor staff in the bar area there were plates left on every table it made the place look very messy
Was only an over night for business so wpuld not be fair to make any comment.
thought that the teen games room was a great idea to keep older children amused thought pool was very small. most was roped off for lane swimming leaving a small space for children
lovely staff, small enough hotel that they recognize you whenever they saw you, would do anything they could for you. Restaurant on site was perfect - higher end casual dining, the food was terrific. Beds are new and very comfortable. no air conditioning - so on a very hot night (which doesn't happen often), it might be uncomfortable. Furniture looking a bit tired(aside from beds which are new and comfy)
staff were very friendly and provided an excellent service and were very attentive to our needs hotel car park is very small
Efficiency of staff; comfort of room; excellent selection and quality of food. Access from car park requires guests to walk down and up flight of stairs which is difficult if you have impaired mobility.
Dieses leicht altmodische Hotel ist dabei sich zu erneuern ohne den Charm zu verlieren und verfuegt ueber ein recht gutes Restaurant. Make sure you dont get a room on the front side (to the main street)! The traffic noise does not really stop during the night.
we found all staff a delight, awfully friendly and accommodating. we have no hesitation in highly recommending. this hotel is not just a home from home - it is one of the most welcoming and friendly places we have ever stayed in
Only stayed 1 night would have liked more time. Will stay there again.
I have stayed here before and will stay again. Other hoteliers should visit - they may learn a lot!
the staff were very friendly. and a warm welcome. rooms comfortable. secure car parking off the street. situated in the middle of the town. you can go out around the town and leave the car. the fact that the shower is over thebath, dangerous for geting in and out of it. not a problem.for me but i think for older people not practable.
The scale and order of the room was very good indeed and impressed me the second I walked through the door, and it was the cleanest I hotel room that I have stayed in this year (on average staying in one hotel a week across the uk) The bins or beer kegs made alot of noise in the early hours outside in the car park and woke me up. The door key was fidly at best in comparison to other hotels, and the key fob made turning it tricky. (Only minor issues it must be said).
Everything. Staff was great. The food was wonderful. I would definately recommend this hotel.
The staff on reception were very good and helpfulit has a cafe for snacks Dan Buckleys Bar for all meals and drinks and Bs Restarant for a special treat, its own car park at the back of hotel .Near Blaney and Cork ,the area has nice river walks ,breakfast was good lots of little shops on street. Hotel very comfortable ,staff very willing withhelp and information Macroom is a very narrow road it needs a by pass ,it is used all day ,by traffic the main road to Killarney and Cork, dont get a front room as you will not sleep ,get to the bar early for food as it gets realy busy
the attention to detail and the friendly staff
A few staff members were particuarly nice and helpful. This hotel promotes itself as a relaxing spa resort. it was anything but. dinner at the hotel was poor and overpriced and children were allowed to run wild around the restaurant. the restaurant manager for breakfast was downright rude and all in all i found the price was far in excess of what was reasonable. this hotel doesnt really know what it is or what its market is, in my opinon, it is not a quiet relaxing spot by any means.
friendliness of staff. facilities excellent. food great.
The room was very comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly yet professional. The dinner was excellent - a very creative menu and all dishes were cooked and presented perfectly. We were very disappointed with the leisure centre and spa facilities. We felt that the leisure centre was dirty - tiles in and around pool and in the steam-room were dirty. Many of the jets in the pool were broken. My husband and I both felt our massages were rushed, we didn't get a choice of oils and the oils were not heated. The relaxation area is not very comfortable - very noisy and fruit/drinks provided were not fresh.
everything - perfect view on the beach - lovely pool
The heat in the room at night!!
The location is spectacular and the staff helpful and friendly
The welcome we received on arrival was fantastic. The staff were so attentive and good humoured
Service, Location is amazing. N/a
Absolutely fantastic, in the end had to cancel with yourselves and book direct with the hotel as I needed amendments but I would definitely stay here again
The warm welcome received, the classic bedroom with huge en suite and the delicious food. Could not fault anything. Nothing
The room was quaint and very cute...but the food was fabulous. We had fish courses that were excellent...and the atmosphere of the dining area was superb. There was even live Irish music the evening we dined. But best of all was the friendly attitude of the hotel staff (owners)...we were made to feel very welcome, almost a part of the family. Mary was especially friendly, despite being very busy with a full house, she took time to chat.
The friendleness Not really
I have answered this on question one No
Restaurant staff and porter were efficient, pleasant and helpful. The reception we received when we returned just before 02.00am was not acceptable. The indiivdual concerned was rude, commented on the lateness of the hour and the fact that ringing the bell once was more than adequate. [We rang it twice after a significant wait following the first time!] The individual asked us could we not see she had a cane, was having difficulty walking and that it took her some time to come to the front door. Perhaps someone else could have done the night porter job, if this was such a difficulty? We were told we should have gone to the back entrance - news to us, We were not advise of this by the receptionist earlier and would of course have done so had that been the case. Not a good experience. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know. The Maritime Hotel would have been a far better option for the same price.
Lovely Hotel in excellent surroundings. The staff manage to make you feel that you are very welcome. The food is excellent and the service first class.
Gracious hosts, lovely grounds and great location The average age of guests is quite old. The food was somewhat bland, if nicely prepared
It served its purpose as a place of relaxation in old and comfortable surroundings with a very friendly staff If a room is called a library then it should not be used as a TV room. Despite my removing of 2 heavy blankets and wanting only a sheet in the middle of summer, these were replaced on making up the bed by room staff.
I liked everything about this hotel, this was not my first time there and each time, it was perfect. I love to come down for drinks, sit by the fireside and peruse the menu at leisure then order. When the dining-room opens, my table is ready, the starters are coming and there is absolutely no fuss. The staff is perfectly styled to be present and helpful without being over your shoulder. I love having tea in the lounge afterwards. I love the feeling that this is a home away from home, but with staff to serve me.
Everything. We enjoyed everything. A lovely experience. The coffee from room service was too strong but I should have asked for hot water to add to it.
Maureen was very friendly and spent time chatting with us. Very Comfortable
This B.& B.was exactly as one would wish an Irish B,& B. to be.It was entirely family-run,warm and welcoming. Our hostess was kind and friendly and encouraged the guests to meet each other.Nothing was too much trouble...it was "home from home". The food was excellent and the rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable. We would recommend it highly.
the friendliness and welcome were fantastic, we would definitely stay there again No
Parking at front of house, tea and cake served once the people who had arrived before us had finished their refreshments, we were only kept waiting in the hall for about 10 minutes. By 4am, our bathroom, which should have been shared with one other bedroom, had been visited 14 times by people coming from several other bedrooms. When I challenged them they said that they were told to share our bathroom. The walls are paper thin so nothing left to the imagination. Bedroom is rather tatty and small, be careful of live double plug socket just behind sink taps.
Warm welcome, delicious breakfast, flexile with arrangements, room very comfortable, lots of space, beautiful views No
Very friendly people- excellent views
Very far of the beaten track, involved travelling to eat. No shower in bathroom. Room had a small double bed.
Fantastic welcome and all teh information one could want about the area. Mum and daughtr traveling ..we really appreciated a huge twin room with a double bed each! Generous brakfast. All in all teh best b&b we have staid in. Thanks!
Bar staff could be more polite
Beautiful location Choice of bistro or restaurant
Location was fab. Staff very friendly and made our sty relxed and enjoyable Swimming pool too small
The sun shone. The water sparkled. The food was great. The pool was relaxing. And West Cork Wonderland all around.
Good location, nice clean room with sea views. Good value for money. Polite, friendly staff. Food was just ok.
very quite relaxing location lovely view from hotel. hotel is very clean with a good friendly local vibe hotel was lovely but you have to drive quite a distance if you want to go sight seeing as rosscarberry is very small although clonakilty is only a 10 minute drive
I loved how the staff were very helpfull, courtious and polite.
friendly staff, warm and comfortable room.there was no loud noise during the night or early morning.
Leisure facilites Nothing
i enjoyed everything about my stay from the food to the peaceful nights sleep
